On our adventure to Orlando, we decided to take a delightful detour and stopped at this gem for some drinks. Wow, what an experience! From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by Gabby, our incredible server and bartender, who instantly made us feel at home. Her warmth and friendliness were a breath of fresh air after the hectic airport chaos we had just endured. Gabby's fantastic recommendations truly elevated our visit! We kicked things off with a round of drinks, and let me tell you, the sangria was nothing short of delightful! It had just the right balance of fruity flavors and refreshing notes that made it irresistible, while the beer was surprisingly ice cold, a welcome change from the lukewarm beverages we’ve encountered at other airport bars in the past. Then came the food, and wow, were we in for a treat! I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, with a tender, juicy center that was seasoned just right. Each bite was a flavor explosion that left us wanting more! My companion opted for the hi-lo burger, which was equally impressive; it was juicy and packed with incredible flavor that made it hard to put down. And let’s not forget the fries, oh, the fries! They were crispy and golden, and thankfully, they didn’t carry that unfortunate freeze-burned taste that you can sometimes find at other places. Every element of our meal was thoughtfully prepared, making it feel like we were indulging in a culinary escape, rather than just a quick airport stop. As we wrapped up our meal and sipped our drinks, we couldn't help but feel grateful to Gabby for turning our brief stop into such an enjoyable and memorable experience. Thanks to her stellar service and the delicious food, we left with big smiles and full hearts. If we ever find ourselves in the gate 70 area again, you can bet we’ll be making another visit. Thank you so much, Gabby! Can't wait to return!

Google
$11 for the worst milkshake I ever had in my life. If it was any good, I'd be disappointed with how little I got. Didn't finish anyway. Lukewarm service, lukewarm milkshake. Fruit didn't blend properly, could not drink with straw. Ungodly amount of whipped cream, and not in a good way. Overflowed down the side, no correction or apology. I've seen better control from small children. $11 gets you a quality milkshake/smoothie most places.

I got a breakfast meal and the eggs were bland and disappointing. They tasted worse than any hotel continental breakfast that served eggs. The staff were funny and light hearted. They were loud with other patrons who were drinking before 8am. Loud enough that people not in the restaurant started looking over towards the restaurant. After 8am the place picks up and gets quite crowded. There is more seating in the back that you cannot see from their front bar area. Come here if you are in need of airport food near the end of terminal F. Otherwise walk a few steps and there is Panda Express.

Google
Simple diner at the end of Terminal F. Everything was good. Lots of room to sit if you walk all the way around the corner to the left. Gabby, a nice happy waitress from Russia, takes your order. Chocolate milkshake with whip cream? Pretty darn good! The Dmsdh burger was good too.

Had breakfast at Hi-Lo and for airport food, it was pretty good! My husband got the Breakfast Sandwich with avocado and I had the Fodero Breakfast with bacon—both were delicious without any complaints. The server was very hospitable, ensuring everything was to our liking. The food came out fast and there were plenty of options to choose from. He even made me freshly squeezed orange juice, which wasn’t listed on the menu. I really liked the atmosphere too; facing the bar, it felt like I was in a cozy diner. Left feeling full and satisfied! Highly recommend if you’re at the airport and need a good meal.

Google
My flight was delayed, so I decided to eat here. There was a nice, quiet ambiance (low volume MCM music). I ordered the fish fry. I am from Wisconsin, which prides itself on fish dinners. This was hands down the best fish dinner I have ever eaten. I am tempted to fly through MPLS again just to eat at this restaurant.

Google
Eggs weren’t cooked and breakfast potatoes were too dry to eat. Sausage was good.

Google
Bad coffee...hah if you even want to call it that. Cobb salad was lackluster, small, and not worth the hefty price. Where's the love?

Yelp
Service was great, Mary Ann never let my water cup get under half full. Food came out quickly and tasted good overall for airport food. I deducted 1 star as fried chicken sandwich was just 2 chicken tenders on top of coleslaw on a bun. Just say that on the menu as I would have ordered something else. Fries came out hot & fresh so I thoroughly enjoyed them. My espresso martini was good. Airport pricing and my drink was more than my meal. Worth a stop if you have a gate or delay at the end of the F Terminal.

Yelp
Breakfast!!!! If you are looking for a good breakfast while waiting for a flight. Hit this place up. Good food, fast service. It hit the spot. Just enough food to fill you up. Stop in, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Solid diner food at the end of the MSP Terminal 1 Concourse F. It has a 50s diner vibe and is has a good view of all of the F11-16 gates as well as a window where you can see the airplanes parked at F10 and F12. I had the burger advertised on the table placard - I forget the name but it had bacon and an egg and was pretty good. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes. The service was friendly, the food was good, and it was a great spot to wait for our flight.

Yelp
We are here for breakfast. The place is just next door to our gate, so we decided to try. The menu has quite some varieties, from hamburger to salad to normal egg breakfast. I ordered their normal egg breakfast, it comes out few mins and it's very well prepared. The hash brown is crispy and tasty, avocado is fresh and egg is cooked just right. Good place to have hot breakfast before the flight.

Yelp
Absolute worst. Terrible food, Waaaaay over priced for the quality. worst service ever. On one occasion, nearly missed my flight for prepackaged food to-go. Waited almost twenty minutes - no one came to check me out. The server kept waiting tables, but couldn't be bothered to spend 30sec to check out my order. Ended up putting it back and leaving as I was reminded the food is trash anyway. Cheers!
google avatar

Yelp
Be aware that the "tomato bisque" is just campbells tomato soup. No cream or basil like advertised. I'm sure the rest of the place is great, but as a soup lover this was 1/10 for me

Yelp
Food good. Service is friendly but slow. Worth checking out if you are in a long layover or arrived super early but they are a scratch kitchen. Hi Lo is not a suitable option of you have less than an hour before boarding to enjoy your meal.

Brian J.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible! I ordered a drink and a burger, the Burger came, and I ordered another drink. Waiter never made the drink. Finished the burger and cashed out. She brings the bill and the tab slip doesn't match the charge slip. 34 tab slip, 49 on the charge slip. She charged me for the drink, but not on the tab slip. Tried to pull one over. Be sure and monitor your bill.

Yelp
Surprisingly, authentic and delicious diner food in the middle of an airport. Classic breakfast was legit with the delicious hashbrowns. Their pancakes are flavorful worth it.

Yelp
It's an ok place to stop by if you have time. And I do mean have the time because it took 30 minutes to get one breakfast sandwich and some chips out. In most food industries, that seems reasonable but in the airport, 30 minutes is just way too long. It would be helpful if they gave you an expectation of how long an order would take and I would have happily moved on to a different place Food-wise, it's average. Nothing outstanding, nothing horrible. Breakfast sandwich: the sausage was actually good, as well as the hash browns but the biscuit was the driest biscuit I've ever met. Couldn't even finish it and I do love biscuits. Chips & queso: solid chips - I'm pretty certain they're house made being that it has a subtle seasoning on it that was very good. However, the queso was not great and left a lot to be desired. I don't know if I would even consider it queso. It was supposed to have chorizo but I didn't notice any of that flavor. It definitely just felt like a salty cheese dip. Overall this place was average, just like most airport eateries. If I layover in MSP again, probably would not swing by again.

Yelp
Stopped in as it was by my gate. Hannah was my server. She did a great job. She answered all my questions and checked on my meal. The Fish basket was very good. Just the amount for travel. I sat at a back corner so I could use my laptop. The atmosphere was nice and a view of the planes. Thank you Hannah for taking care of my order.

Yelp
Located in the F terminal of the airport, this place serves a limited but good enough menu for lunch and breakfast food. The pancakes had a hint of vanilla and lemon. The location allows a brief respite from the chaos of the terminal as you wait for your flight.
google avatar

Yelp
@Airport location be careful what you order! I ordered a Bloody Mary substitute tequila for vodka. Was charged for rail tequila PLUS Bloody Mary mix, which increased the price a few dollars. As far as I know, all rail booze is the same price... seems like they're padding the bill. Not cool. On a high note, the Bloody Mary mix was tasty.

Yelp
A place that had options/could accommodate vegetarians and this is it! Cute indoor/outdoor seating. The service was ok but the food is worth the wait! Love this spot!

Yelp
We like the hi-lo on Lake Street so we stopped there. knowing it would be expensive we stopped anyway. Ordered one plate with extra sides including Avocado. They charged 3.49 for avocado and forgot to bring it. we reminded them, so 10 minutes later they came out with one slice of avocado that was 3/4" wide. I had accepted the airport prices and adeed service charges and all but this was shocking to me. I asked and was told that many people complain but there was nothing that could be done about it. with tip a $52 plate (one plate, coffee and a couple of extra sausage patties. Next time we will eat elsewhere. This is a bad reflection on the Hi-Lo on Lake.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to stop if you have some time during your layover! The Bloody Mary was delicious, and the service was fast and supportive. Would definitely go again if I have time in MSP!
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
This eatery is tucked away so not sure if it only has 2 modes, packed or quiet, but I came at a more quiet time. Service was fast and friendly, there's a full bar, and a limited but tasty menu (and seasoned fries!). There is a to-go area with hot and ready items, but I sat at the counter. Burger was cooked as expected and flavor on everything was great!

Bradley H.

Yelp
I sat down with an hour to go before my flight. It took 10 minutes to order. 30 minutes later I did not have my food and was forced to pay $25 for a meal I never received. Terrible.
google avatar

Brandon J.

Yelp
Well when the waitress goes on break, that is just the end of service for a while. Only one waitress so if you haven't ordered when it is break time, you have to move to the crowded bar and you're not allowed to bring food back to the dining area.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't believe it. I am giving airport food a four star review. That can't possibly be right. Look, I don't choose the places I review, they choose me. Like a puppy. That you eat. Speaking of eating puppies, I went cruelty free had the Beyond burger and fries. I have to say, it was pretty tasty. Well prepared and well layered with thin sliced pickles, caramelized onions and cheese. I washed it down with a fantastic IPA from Bent Paddle Brewing. Fries weren't special, but there was plenty of them Look, I want to complain, but the service was friendly and prompt. An enjoyable meal at the airport- who knew. It also helps that's it's at the very end of the terminal so not overly packed. Of course you"ll pay airport prices for a meal here, but that's a first world problem, Isnt it. Enjoy your flight! Nice job Hi Lo!

Joseph R.

Yelp
Decent food and friendly service. Arturo was our waiter and was quick to ask if we wanted any drinks just as we sat down. He stayed attentive throughout our stay and wished us a safe journey. The ice tea was watered down so not worth the $3. After Arturo left us the next waiter was also conscientious to ask if we wanted anything else even though we were done. He was quite nice too, even knowing there was no order this no tip to be had. Maybe we should have tipped him too!
google avatar

Stevie F.

Yelp
tara and vicki and tisha are the most beautiful, they are the most helpful. these ladies deserve a raise so please give it to them right now. They be serving the drinks, they be serving the food, and they be doing it all under immense pressure. We love Tara and Vicky and Tiesha and they are the best. You better give them a raise. Thank you.

Jon S.

Yelp
Not awful. You're not getting fresh cut fries or anything, but for what it is they do a good job. I've had much bigger club sandwiches for the price, but it was fine. Server was attentive. Decent respite while waiting for a flight.
google avatar

Yelp
i was craving eggs so i wondered over to this dinner at gate f10 i bought an egg sammie with avocado and fries i was very happy to enjoy this brunch quiet clean hot! yes you know what hot means fresh usually i enjoyed this and the next time i pop in i'll be back
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever had. The order was simple and got messed up twice and I nearly missed my flight. Zero apologies or attention paid to the mixup. Drove me to drink.
google avatar

Niko E.

Yelp
Good food, the breakfast burrito and Hash stuffed hash Was really good. I don't recommend the regular coffee however. Decent airport food overall.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
I has the same experience as another diner on Yelp. I didn't mean to order takeaway , found the tables at the back for dine in after I ordered. The Russian (?) waitress was especially rude, full on ignored me the entire time I was here (so stupid because if she would have had the courtesy of filling my coffee cup ONE time, I would have tipped her even though she made me go back out to the counter to pick up the cold food). But I guess that was better than the stoner Zoomer who said he "wasn't allowed " to give me a plate instead of a takeaway box when I was already sitting at a dine-in table. JFC

Yelp
Walk past this place!!!!!!!!!!!! Terrible choices, biscuit with sausage or bacon. It's $10 for a sandwich! Not with it plenty of other choices.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
If I could eat Hi Lo Diner everyday.. I'd be a very happy person! I recommend the Buffalo cheese curds to EVERYONE. I love the interior and the diner feel. I can't wait until I am able to dine it again. In the meantime I will continue to order to go!

Dee P.

Yelp
KEEP WALKING by this place in the airport. The dinner salad literally had no lettuce in it, mainly dandelion crap, and some purple stuff they find outside a floral shop in a dumpster. Oh, and the $16.50 burger? I should have known I was in trouble when the frozen disc of processed meat came out of the kitchen so quick. 2:00 in the microwave and serve'em with fries so salty they were almost inedible. The 1 star is only for the waitress who busts her butt during travel rushes.

Yelp
Our experience at this restaurant was on October 5, 2019, so it wasn't affected by what it currently going on with the COVID-19 pandemic. My wife and I had a layover at MSP on our way home from our vacation, and upon exiting from our gate I spotted the Hi-Lo Diner. I've always wanted to eat at the original, but it's never worked out for us, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try it. The place wasn't very busy (less than 15 people), but it was still some time before we were seated. I've always wanted to try their famous Hi-Tops (food on top of a house-made donut), so I ordered a Gary Cooper (fried chicken w/ syrup and gravy), and my wife ordered a Fodero Breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon, hash browns). About ten minutes goes by, and then our server comes back to inform me that not only are they out of chicken, but they're also out of donuts! Really? The dish you guys are known for you ran out of, and you're not even that busy? I was more than a little annoyed by this revelation, but I decided to make the best of it and ordered their Hash Stuffed Hash (corned beef, hash browns, eggs, hollandaise sauce). Nearly 30 minutes later, we finally got our food. I didn't want to take a chance at waiting forever (again), so I ordered a slice of their Key Lime Pie and refills on our beverages. We got our refills and pie about 15 minutes later, along with the final bill (I insisted on getting that right away, too). The food was good, but not great. The slice of pie was about the size of a deck of cards, and it was $7! If that was the best tasting key lime pie I've ever had in my entire life I could have forgiven the cost, but it wasn't; far from it. We left feeling very disappointed in the entire experience. We might still try the original Hi-Lo (at some point), but we'll never go back to the one at the airport!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
The Gary Cooper is a MUST TRY!!!! It's fried chicken on the homemade glazed donut with gravy. Yum!!! They also have delicious root beer on tap.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Honestly haven't eaten my burger yet. I'm sure it's fine, idk what everyone expects from the airport but you get what you get for a high price tag. It is what it is. Anyway I'm just writing this to give compliments to the to go cashier, his name is Charles i think. Tall blah guy with dreads. He was super polite, patient, referred to everyone as sir or ma'am. Quite sweet. Good job Charles, you're doing great.

Jonah S.

Yelp
Why do I have to pay extra for a tomato on my burger? Yes it might be 0.99$ but it should still normally be included.
google avatar

Samuel L.

Yelp
I was passing through the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport and stopped at this place. The food itself was ok, nothing to write home about, but still ok. I had the Hilo Burger. The timing to mark the food was good, so...your probs wondering what the problem is? Well, it was the bartenders. SUPER rude and unfriendly, I ordered dine in, and when I went to go sit at the bar, some rude bartender with a beard said "oh, this is reserved for dine in only." And I said I was dining in and the cashier did not even ask if I was dine in or out, I had to tell her. Then, when my food came out, they made me leave because I ordered dine out, which I didn't. The bartender with a beard and some other bartender also asked me if I was over 21 twice, and I said I could show him my ID and he just said it's fine. So not IDing and potentially letting people under 21 drink is ok at your establishment? This would have gotten a 3 star, but the bartenders were very rude.
google avatar

Carla N.

Yelp
What food they actually made was decent but the service is horrible and they were out of many things with absolutely no remorse in their problems.

T G.

Yelp
Very environmentally conscious. Straws were made of paper and lunch was served on paper not plastic plates. Food was really good but pricey (no complaints though). If I happen to be in the area and have a decent layover, I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. Great job everyone.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
I really don't know why this place doesn't have great reviews. I am very delayed in MSP during the Coronavirus scare and goodness, it's so nice to relax and just watch someone polish the heck out of the tables. Hi-Lo is right next to my gate so I know I'm not missing anything and Josie the waitress is completely delightful. Personable, kind, quick, and intensely sanitary. Also, food and beverages are good. When I am a gazillionaire, I am going to hire Josie to travel with me and be my waitress everywhere I go.

Bill K.

Yelp
Understand short staff and current environment BUT that never excuses rude staff and vocal attitude. Manager airing issues at register in front of customers and cashier checking phone while taking an order. Crazy. Food was ok after 30 min wait.

Travis H.

Yelp
Piss poor service... this was my $15.50 couscous salad... no couscous, onions and lettuce? Come on people were better than this.

Glenn L.

Yelp
So disappointed. Sat down with 25 minutes till my flight. Some young man looked at me like I had two heads and said he'd get to me "when he could" he the went about his business, passing me several times ( I was seated at the counter) after around 10 minutes of ignoring me, he asked some people sitting at the bar if he could get them anything else and took drink orders, at which point I went to my gate. What a douche bag!

Millie G.

Yelp
I received the worst service. Apparently the gentleman taking orders, was not wanting to help me, I stood at the counter a good 10 min as he did everything but try to ring me up. When I asked if I was at the right counter, he told me he would get to me. When he did he had complete attitude and was very put out. I did not appreciate tre experience at all. Definitely left a negative impression....

B P.

Yelp
Kill me now. No service at all and only 6 patrons. I have over an hour before my fight and might get the food I ordered? Limited breakfast selections and they didn't have everything available. For example - no hollandaise for Eggs Benedict and they just opened? Hash browns were cold, egg sandwich good. This airport location is so bad it will only hurt the real resturants reputation.

James M.

Yelp
Shockingly bad service. Waited over a half hour for my food and when it arrived the order was wrong. There was no manager present, and so I wasn't able to get my refund processed before I got to my gate. With one exception, all of the employees were non-communicative. Don't waste your time at this location
