"Larimer Street’s welcoming Hi*Rise bakery, which had been a neighborhood sandwich staple for nearly a decade, stopped operations at 3 p.m. Friday. Hi*Rise owner and baker Doug Anderson started baking breads and bagels nearly a decade ago before Larimer Street led to RiNo. He decided not to renew his lease for business and personal reasons, citing tight margins, competition for good workers, and the desire to spend more time with family." - Gigi Sukin

"When looking for something quick, easy, and equally satisfying, Hi Rise bakery on Larimer Street is a good bet. Lines can get long on weekends but tend to move quickly so that adventure fiends can get out and into the mountains. The fancy eggs and bacon breakfast sandwich comes piled high on nine-grain bread with two eggs, thick and crispy bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and avocado." - Lucy Beaugard

I love their bagels. Better than the "other" place's bagel. Don't have to wait 30 minutes at Hi-Rise for a bagel. They do ZERO for creating a mood or any coziness and I don't particularly like their coffee. If I'm not mistaken I believe they only have filtered coffee, which is my preference. But their baked goods are stellar especially bagels!

Excellent dive of a breakfast joint! Simple breakfast menu and very fair prices with housemade bagels. Don't expect much sweet here, it's all about the bagels! Tried a sample of the Red Pepper bagel and was blown away, never had a bagel that was spicy like that before, and it was extremely enjoyable. I purchased a breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon and avocado on it and that was plenty to have to get me to lunch later in the day. My wife also ordered a sandwich and was satisfied as well. Coffee was the only bummer, first place in Denver that didn't have "good" coffee.

They have the best bagels in town, and at the best price. I dig everything about this place... staff, food offerings and price. They can get a little crowded and it can take a while to get stuff on those days but it's worth the wait. People really dig their sandwiches but I haven't explored that part of the menu

The food is relatively tasty, but the portions are meager at best, and for the price I would expect to have leftovers. I've tried several times too, this isn't a one off. My recommendation if youre going to go, get a bagel and cream cheese. Hard to screw up the portions on that. The decor is rad though and the people are nice. It's just a shame that an $8 sandwich here leaves you hungry.

I've been going here for over a year now. Haven't had a bad meal yet! This morning I tried their lox for the 1st time... oh my!!!! Great perfect amount of smokey flavor on the lox, and the cream cheese is spot on. Get the #2 lox with the perfect combo of tomato and onions to add to the flavor

Food is good. It's not awesome but it's worth it. The place was not busy when we went but still took a while to order. I guess having one order station will slow things down. Overall, I thinking the experience could be made better. Cream cheese slapped onto one side of bagel is not a very good experience. The staff was nice and answered our questions about the menu.

Nice atmosphere, right downtown, great espresso. Bagels are delish. Other food seemed a bit overpriced so I stayed simple. The people are really cool too. Great little place over all. I had a good experience with this place.

Haven’t tried their food but looks promising. Was here for a pickup order
