The 12 Best Vegan Restaurants in London, England | Eater

"This excellent little Palestinian cafe on Wood Street in Walthamstow has earned a stellar reputation for its pita (baked daily) fashioned into delicious sandwiches, as well as its fresh manakeesh, which can be dressed with olive oil and za’atar (among other, non-vegan toppings). The best sandwich combines floral and aromatic falafel (fried to order) with roasted cauliflower and fried aubergine, which all melds together with a crunchy cucumber-and-tomato salad dressed in tahini and lemon." - Adam Coghlan

Outstanding food, it came quick and plenty of it. We ordered the Mussakhan, salad, Battata Harra and Okra stew and it was a perfect amount for 2 people. The chicken was tender and delicious and dovetailed superbly with a yoghurt pairing. The Palestine coffee afterwards was the best way to wind down, couldn’t recommend this place more!

What a gem of a spot! The staff was so wonderful and hospitable and not only do they serve the most amazing and fresh Palestinian dishes, they also sell beautiful handmade Palestinian products. Would recommend, 10/10, will definitely be back :)

Very friendly owner and nice food, we shared the £35 brunch set between the 2 of us! The tea was also superb (sage I think?) Areas for improvement: - We waited to get our order taken and for food a bit longer than expected - While nicely decorated, the atmosphere wasn’t cosy like in the pictures. The tables are metal, it was quite cold inside. I think the place would definitely benefit from more warmer lighting, cosier furniture, pillows. And more neatly arranged shelves etc. Update Jan 2025: Gave it another go and really don’t think it is that great. The service is still really long (40ish minutes), the place is not cosy (some empty fridges along the wall), the food is too oily - my Lebanese friend said the food wasn’t authentic. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. Overall, no matter how much I wanted to support this local business, it the experience has been repeatedly disappointing

A friend treated me to the delicious brunch here. An entire tray of dishes arrived with freshly baked flatbread. Brunch is for two to share - there's a lot of food so be ready to feast. Wholesome flavours and fresh ingredients, so tasty. Also tried my first Palestinian coffee. Really fragrant (cardamom?) and strong but not overly bitter. Would love to come back and try other dishes. The owners were friendly and warm.

Hiba Taboun is a cozy spot with amazing Middle Eastern flavors. The shakshuka was rich and flavorful, the zaatar manakeesh was perfectly soft and fragrant, and the tea tied it all together. Everything felt fresh and homemade, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back! Reminds me of my friend’s mums cooking.

Food was incredible! The vibe was also very nice and chill, beautiful music playing in the background. Highly recommend the Palestenian brunch 🤤 *please be warned the service is sloooow, so if you're in a rush this is not your place*

I’ve been here multiple times and each time it is excellent. The service is great and attentive. The food tastes high quality and fresh, the olive oil is so good and generously poured on all the food.

It was our first time here and it was a10/10. Amazing staff, friendly and helpful. Food was cooked from scratch, fresh and well prepared. The owner wants to make you feel at his country through a culinary experience.
