"Located in the Grand Concourse neighborhood, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet really means “supreme” — the buffet runs to sushi, steak, seafood simply cooked, and Chinese food, a beguiling combination if there ever were one. Prices are $12 for lunch to $18 for dinner and cheaper options for kids under $12." - Eater Staff

Yelp
Second time being here and I loved it! I had fruit for desert because I'm not a big fan of sweets so fruit is the farthest I go! Definitely wasn't a let down. The service was fine and the ambiance was busy but not busy where you didn't have room to walk around or wait long to get something to eat. The only thing I didn't like was one of the servers (people who give you refills for your drinks) to ask for a tip. She even asked me in Spanish which I thought was rude so I told her that it's rude to ask and walked away. As a customer it's my decision to tip the server. Although that did happen I still enjoy eating there and will be going again.

Yelp
Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet is one of the buffets that has surprised me with the taste of the food and the customer service. However, there are some problems in this place that I would like to mention, starting with the bathrooms. Since this buffet is very well-known, there are usually a lot of people in it, which becomes inconvenient when using the bathrooms because most of the time they are occupied. Another problem is the lack of signal inside the restaurant. When you enter, it is difficult to receive important calls or messages, which can be frustrating when waiting for a message or needing to make a call. Finally, I would like for tips to be able to be left for the waiters just before entering to eat, where the cashier would ask the customer if they would like to add a tip, and this tip would be distributed equally among the workers of the establishment. I hope these suggestions help improve the experience at Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet.

Yelp
I came here yesterday to eat before the Yankee game. I was very excited because I love buffets, but I have to say I was disappointed. Pro's: the dessert was delicious and had many options. The ice cream selections were from Hershey's & blue bunny. Many good options. There was also an assortment of cookies such as rainbow cookies & some sort of coconut cookie. The service was also great! Waitress was very attentive with our drink order and taking the plates away. Con's: the food was honestly not good. The Mac and cheese looked so delicious but it was extremely watered down I didn't taste any cheese what so ever!!!! The general tso chicken was not good it was all crunchy with no meat on the inside. The French fries felt undercooked and no salt or seasoning and very soggy. The only thing I ate that was decent was the chicken nuggets, vegetable lo mein, & dumplings.

Yelp
So this review is long overdue I've come here a few times this year and I gotta tell you this is one of my favorite buffets in NYC. Food: 8/10 -They have such a huge variety of food from sushi, pizza, shrimp Alfredo which blew my mind, a bunch of fried foods including my favorite fried crab legs BRUH! Amazing! ADDICTIVE AS WELL...Warning it will have you going back for more seasoned well and tasty. -The food is usually fresh and replaced quickly. They also have a hibachi bar which you can pick your own additions that include the protein shrimp, chicken, steak AMAZING as well as sauces like teriyaki, garlic, soy sauce and I forget the other these are my go to's. -I like to end of my meal with something hot so I go with the wonton soup base then add fresh fried or steamed dumplings....the dumplings in the soup I had the first time was so soggy it threw me off. So I made it work for me. Service: 9/10 -The workers are very hard working and pretty laidback, I have no complaints Ambiance: 9/10 -Huge galaxy kind of themed restaurant, on busy days you will hear happy birthday play like twenty times lol. They have an event room and it looks like people always enjoy their birthdays or celebrations there. Bathroom: 4/10 -needs to be revamped...renovated it gives me dirty vibes and it's not maintenanced really well my only ughhh because I have an almost two year old who loves to touch Seating: 10/10 They have a bunch of seats and they seat everyone pretty smart not too close to eachother the spot is very spacious and pretty sanitary as well I highly suggest you check this buffet out I give them a solid 4.5 stars but I had to round it up to 5 because they got me and my baby hooked lol My go to mommy baby date spot.

Sha M.

Yelp
I can't speak for the meat. But the seafood was not as fresh as i would thought. Crabs seemed dirty, the fish didn't taste fresh. The sushi wasn't exciting, I don't think I will be checking it out for a second time. Live, love, and laugh - SHA

Yelp
Time for allllllllll you can eat y'all!!!!!!! Ok first this place is located in a nice all around market place where you can shop and eat. You do have to pay to park your car BUT the food is worth it... They have everythang and I do mean EVERYTHANG you want from seafood to include crabs and shrimp to soul food to include fried chicken.. fried fish and this yellow rice that is TOO delicious for words and deserts... deserts... deserts!!! With ALL you can drink!! I haven't been to a all you can eat for many years and this place left me so FULL I didn't eat until the next day lol. If you go to NEW YORK for vacation... stop here huni!!

Devin T.

Yelp
The food was very Mehhhh...... Came here on a Friday night with my daughter, my friend and her daughter. Wish I would've took a picture of the prices... There are different prices for mon-Friday, Saturday and lunchtime. ONE THING FOR CERTAIN is they are going to make sure you paid even after you paid lol they ask for your receipt and place it at your table.... I would only go back if every other food option is not available.

Michael H.

Yelp
Food is not fresh there was a dead rat underneath my table the staff are very rude and stole money from me I don't recommend this place to anyone I had got food poisoning from here and now I'm in the hospital this is a terrible buffet and they need to hire better people

John T.

Yelp
I went to Hibachi Grill's website and found the dinner price for adults on weekdays was $17.99 and for kids 7-10, it was $13.99. I called to double check the prices. I was told it's $22.31 for adults and $17.95 for kids 7-10. Time to update your website so people know your current price! Otherwise, can mislead people of the actual cost.

Yelp
Honestly when i walked in i felt like my skin was crawling , place not clean & its packed like sardines. Food wasn't even good at all except the chicken wings . The hibachi was okay not all that honestly. I seen the workers in the back eating and wiped their hands on the drink boxes where the sodas are. I was in shock and the stomach turned. That says alot about the place. I seen people coughing and touching the spoons and the plates. My stomach hurts.... i didn't even want to continue to eat. The fruits was not even fresh it was sour. I literally didn't eat anything. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my dog. Never again. If your thinking about coming here walk away or go to Popeyes. Dont give yourself a death note!

Kaisersosae22 ..

Yelp
I dined at Hibachi and everything here was worth it . The fried shrimps was great , the friend crab was great the sushi bar was fresh and tasted good and they had a steak bar with a chef to cook for you their sweet and sour and sesame and teriyaki chicken was freshly cooked and portions keep coming from kitchen AYCE for $17.99 this is a steal . Their pasty bar and fruit bar and ice cream bar to top it off was amazing. The only thing they can do better is to keep bathroom CLEAN

John D.

Yelp
The food is great for what it is and is always freshly out. The place is also clean and the hibachi grill is also a cool add on. They make some of the food right in front of you.

Raul R.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite all you can eat restaurant no complaint with the food or service until now. Sadly I was there 04/06/2024 with my son to have a good time. in our way out a waiter was demanding a tip. I understand they work for minimal wage but I was embarrassed by the audacity of a waiter asking for a tip who do not even served my food. I can suggest gratitude to be added at the check so we can avoid that in the future. I brought this up because somebody had a similar experience too.

Jose Angel C.

Yelp
the parking they charge too much money! they really charged 20 dollars just for parking for 2 hours! but the crab was not cooked well and it made me literally made me throw up!.

Tata G.

Yelp
Usually go to Jersey for Chinese buffet but since most closed down during the pandemic i was willing to try this one with very low expectations. Tried the noodles, rice, fried shrimp/ meat section and they all yummy & fresh. The fried dishes doesnt have that old oil taste which is a good thing. Dessert- cakes & cookies selection was hit & miss but they have store brand icecream, popsicle, icecream bar you can get from their freezer section. They also have a good selection of hot food & sushi. Did'nt try the sushi maybe i will on my second visit! Servive is good. place is busy but the waitresses are cheerful & prompt to refill. The place is spacious enough to allow 6 feet between tables & the staff wears mask at all time. But they dont check for a valid covid vaccination card, which i feel they should do for the safety of their patrons. The only turn off about this place is their bathroom!!! It's not maintained or cleaned regularly! Nobody bothers to check it because i used it 2 hrs into the opening and its already a Mess! Tissues all over the floor, doors doesnt really close, garbage overflowing, & just looked run down over all. My husband said he could smell the stink through his mask. If not for the bathroom situation i think we would like to come on a regular schedule

Yelp
I've eaten at this Hibachi Grill Buffet several times, usually on week days for lunch. Today was the first time I've eaten here on Sunday. First off the food is good for a buffet. Not great but good. If you are hungry and in the mood for Chinese / Sushi it can't be beat but it's definitely buffet quality. As I said today was my first time here on a Sunday and it will probably be my last time on a Sunday. The line was out the door and there was no crowd control going on at all. At first I thought there were two lines but soon it went to one line but once you got in the door it was just a bunch of people and no clue where the line was. I got behind two people who said they were in line but soon realized we were all just standing behind a group waiting to be seated. Stanchions to clearly indicate where lines should be would be helpful. Plus I saw several groups cut the line. The cost on Sundays is $16.99 and I went mainly to see if the menu changed drastically due to the higher price. The answer is no. 90% of the food was the same as on the weekday buffet which is $11.99. The main difference appears to be more seafood ( hard shell crabs, Steamed seafood boil) but other than that I didn't see much of a difference between the two. Drinks are not included and a soda is $2 plus tax. The staff are nice and pretty good about keeping your drink refilled and removing empty plates. I enjoy an AYCE buffet and will definitely go back on a weekday for lunch.

Eve N.

Yelp
This place really wasn't bad at all for a buffet restaurant. I came here twice and there was a good amount of variety and I saw the staff refilling and making sure there was enough food. Service was fast and the price was reasonable. I wanted a clean sit-down restaurant to relax for a quick lunch while on jury duty and this fit the bill perfectly. I would return when in the area.

Heather G.

Yelp
For a Chinese buffet at lunch...it wasn't terrible. You're not getting crab legs and the primo stuff. It was $12 and killed my jury duty lunch break. If they had peanut chicken (which is a Chinese buffet staple, wtf) I would have given them four stars. The sushi wasn't spectacular but it was good for what it was. Didn't try the hibachi table. The place looked reasonably clean enough and I went early enough that everything was fresh.

Jordan S.

Yelp
Man this used to be my favorite hidden gem. Used to come here frequently before the pandemic, and was never disappointed with the various options/quality. Made a visit yesterday after catching a flick. Was shocked to see the C health inspector rating on the door. I was hesitant at first, but I haven't eaten in 6 hours, so I ignored it. The food didn't taste as it were cooked well example the stuffed shrimp or the skewers. Some of the fried options tasted as if it was fried it old oil. My usual go to, the sushi tasted bland. Not sure if the hibachi station was open, there was usually a line, so I cannot say on that. I couldn't really muster up past 2 plates. Probably it was the day I went and time, but wasn't the same type of experience.

Miguel P.

Yelp
Good variety of food selection but the best part is the Ice Cream simple and delicious

Alisen R.

Yelp
Food was horrible. I saw many critical violations throughout the "restaurant". I should have known being that they were graded a C. I felt like anything I ate would have gotten me sick. Everything was just so disgusting in this place . The plates were dirty as well and you have to pay before you eat because I'm sure they have had many people walk out as soon as they see the place and what they have to serve!

Alexis J.

Yelp
Food is amazing !! Service was pretty good I didn't feel on top of , and my table never got to crowded of finished plates. The Hibachi could be a little better , but still good.

John D.

Yelp
I want to be fair so I'm going to update my review one more time, chalking up the last experience to going on a holiday when maybe it was a one-off experience. I ended up coming back (thanks to my brother and his friend), and thought everything was good - all the standard food (chicken and broccoli, sushi, some seafood dishes, fried fish, etc) were solid and had a wide variety (besides no snow crab legs). The staff in general aren't the friendliest but check the boxes. There was a pretty decent line when we first came in but it moved pretty quickly. I definitely think they have some kinks to work out but overall I thought the food variety, taste and price were good and it was a nice way to spend a Sunday.

Brayan R.

Yelp
Watching us eat and kept asking if we were done eating. I felt uncomfortable because they thought we were going to steal food this is my last time coming and I had hair in my food.

Houley plays R.

Yelp
I want to Hibachi grill & supreme buffet for one of my friends birthday and it was really nice you pay one time to go in and you can get as much plates as you want the food was super good I am looking forward to going again and there's so many options to chose from!

Ariadna V.

Yelp
Good spot with very affordable buffet prices!!! They have snow crab legs which I was very surprised they offer, dungeness crab legs, a hibachi grill section, sushi, and your typical Chinese buffet selections! Parking is free for 2 hours, your parking ticket gets a validation sticker on your way out.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Love their food but it currently holds a C in health department. B means rat droppings and C means actually sees mice

Alicia C.

Yelp
The food was so fresh and perfectly seasoned. It is impeccably clean, with a huge seating area for all. I was impressed!!!! I highly recommend this VERY AFFORDABLE place!!! Great for a family outing, girls night out or date night!!!

Lady L.

Yelp
Omg this place was so disgusting I had to ask for a refund so ghetto and crowded I thought I might get robbed while I eat and nasty they went to take me to my table it was gross food stuck in the seats all over the floors like what kinds food establishment it this I ran out I didn't even wanna look at the food

Adela E.

Yelp
Definitely not coming back , I'm sorry. They do have a hibachi grill with a chef cooking up but I just don't feel like this place left me with a feeling of coming back. Your regular buffet , beef and broccoli and fried rice you know what I mean ? I do give it a 7 on cleanliness. And parking was also horrible but what do you expect in the Bronx right ?

KiKi M.

Yelp
2/10/2023 I came in from Pennsylvania to celebrate my nephew birthday and went to the bathroom. I forgot my phone in the bathroom and went to back ad get it to find it wa not there. My daughter tracked my phone and it was still in the restaurant. We kept tracking the phone to 1163 Wheeler Ave, Bronx. Apparently one of the ladies that worked the front register stole it even when I reported it to all of them. When we got to the address we saw her and she laughed. She still has my 13 Pro Max iPhone blue with my case with hearts and a hand strap. I want my phone back!!!

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
Amazing variety of food to suit all kinds of taste. Reasonably priced too. Seafood was great. Sushi ok. Hibachi pretty good. Yummy desserts. pretty good for NYC buffet.

S V.

Yelp
Food was OK, not bad but not great. The only complaint I have was that everything, other than the plate itself was plastic ... forks, spoon and knife. The drinks (soda) was given in a Styrofoam cup. I get it, covid and all but kind of hard to use these utensils for food that would require a little more muscle. In addition, not sure if this location was affected by this past storm but it did have a moldy type of smell in the area I sat in. I can see this getting better with time, but needs improvement.

Gary C.

Yelp
You know the old joke about the two old ladies who go to the restaurant and the first old lady says, "Wow, the food is so bad here" and the second old lady replies, "Yes, and such small portions!" This restaurant does not have small portions you can eat as much as you want. So, how do they keep the prices so reasonable? You probably won't want to eat that much. The food is not good, and I should know as I ate a lot of it. I tried the fried chicken. It tasted like the oil was old and I ate around 12:15 on a Tuesday, so. I tried the crab Rangoon an orange flavored chicken that was decent. (But only as opposed to being indecent). Some spicy shrimp. Little guys. I don't think I'll go through it item by item. In general not very good quality ingredients, prepared in large quantities. Not seasoned particularly well. Highlights. Hot and sour soup was hot and sour. Some type of chicken in a skewer. That was pretty good. I tried the hibachi. The man behind the counter was game. That is to say he did his best but the meat wasn't very tasty. I can't blame him for trying. The place was clean. The service was attentive. It felt like a lot of people working hard to give you a pleasant experience. It was $13 I opted for water over soda with my lunch. I'm nyc you don't get a lot of $13. That's a meal from Burger King or Popeyes. So there is value to be had if you don't want good food.

Whamiya P.

Yelp
I just came back from having a lunch buffet on a Sunday afternoon. And I was looking forward to a nice meal after reading all the good reviews. But I was very, very disappointed because it was not worth $20/pp. And the food wasn't even hot, it was just warm and tasted OK. The servers were a bit unfriendly and rude. But I wasn't going to throw away my money so I tried to finish my plate. But unfortunately, by the the time I saw the sushi and Hibachi Table I was full And the bathrooms, were disgusting. How often are they cleaned

Ms. A.

Yelp
They're food is Pretty damn good, love the fish. Always clean, staff is Not very friendly but they're not unfriendly, just very distant. Love the location, come out the movie theatre and then lunch. Good place to eat, Always Busy but service is fast!

Bineta B.

Yelp
It was good with a lot of variety of food , my little sister enjoyed it. Why I didn't put 5 stars it was because of the chicken wings , there were still feathers and unidentifiable yellow stuff that looked like grease. The chicken wings had not been properly cleaned.

Serenity 1.

Yelp
The food was great, no complaints there. However the service was atrocious. Had a waitress, who we had only seen once when we were first seated, repeatedly badger our party for a tip. We saw her doing that to other tables as well. Did not consider it very professional behavior. Would return for the food as it was very fresh, the place is clean, constantly rotating out to ensure the foods freshness, etc. However if we were seated with that particular waitress again, would ask for another.

Julio R.

Yelp
Whenever I ve eaten there I find the food is flavorless as if it came from a pre fab place. In a neighborhood that's known for people who love flavor in their food this is really out of place. You can do better.

Kisha V.

Yelp
Came for Easter dinner. It was a very long wait but it was definitely worth it. Service was amazing with a lot of food options and delicious dessert. All u could eat seafood, Chinese and sushi. Plus fruits, cakes, icecream and a lot of kids finger food to accommodate the little ones. I would definitely be back.

Angela R.

Yelp
Pros: Hibachi area is the best Validate parking (under 2 hours Fresh fruits/salad area Large spacing Staff friendly and helpful Pricing Cons: Floor is slippery (food mashed on the floor) All food is not labeled Dessert area options are not good Kids getting there own food/running around

Joshua S.

Yelp
this place was a lie they have no Wi-Fi and charge alot the seafood crawfish taste like a bag of lipton everything else was good like the desserts and Chinese food they don't sit out for long i recommend everything except the seafood

Sorangie S.

Yelp
Your typical buffet restaurant, and grill but they are not your cleanest restaurant, the bathrooms were dirty af. I couldn't use it and my wife threw up after trying to use it. This was only 20 minutes after opening, rhe bathroom looks like they ain't been cleaned in weeks.

Lokesh Bhargav P.

Yelp
Unfortunately no sushi. Overall experience is not so good. Hibachi smelled little bad

Lovely L.

Yelp
I went for my birthday with my family of 5 for dinner . The price was very reasonable about 100.00 for 6 people with the unlimited soda package . The staff wasn't too friendly at first and they stand and stare over you as you eat which I didn't like at all but they did make sure our cups were never empty They even sang me happy birthday and put a happy birthday song over the radio. The food was okay , not really hot or fresh to my liking but they did try their best to keep all the food fully stocked . One thing I wish they had more options that were child friendly. And they didn't have the steamed snow crab legs Im used to seeing but over all it was pleasant experience and I would come again . They also give you a voucher for 2 hour parking . Please put a timer on your phone the parking lot is very expensive !

Nicholas A.

Yelp
Overall, the selection is good. The hibachi section is pretty nice with the chef and it's overall experience. My only thing is the food at the steam tables aren't as hot as they could be. Also, some of the food items are bland. The "floating" ceiling above the buffet section is def a highlight.

Infinite R.

Yelp
The food at this place is no good I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone the fruit was hard chicken wings are big

Mark E.

Yelp
Tldr: rlly bad quality for food-best to just get sushi and dessert if you have to go. Lots of kids running around. If you are a person whose ready to throw quality out the window for quantity then look no further than this place. Be forewarned I went with friends who can tolerate low quality food and EVEN THEY feel upset to their stomachs if anyone even mentions this place again. The ambience may look nice and the food looks good, however the food Is either unnecessarily fatty, dry, overly sweet, burnt, and or underseasoned food. I'm sure you're wondering how about the hibachi? Yea you get a lot of choice and variety but in the end they still manage to screw it up. Everything gets over buttered and over burnt and it's just unappetizing. The sauces they add barely did anything to help. I went at 9pm on a Friday and it was still pretty crowded and little kids were running around everywhere.

Latoya W.

Yelp
My review before i just simply glanced at another review which i wouldn't have gone if i read it first. Anywho, I've only been once and it hasnt been open for to long this is probably my first time going to a hibachi grill buffet. But i love a good buffett. The price is affordable i paid 10 bucks for the lunch Buffet. This is great because thats generally what i spend on lunch generally. The food choices were great. They offered sushi among various other options. The food was fresh. The place was clean. I didnt actually het the hibachi. You get a two hour limit at the Buffet.

George T.

Yelp
A MUCH needed venue, what took so long! The food is good, as long as you have your expectations right. This is not high quality chinese/japanese food nor is it as good as Minado, but that's ok. It's what this neighborhood needs at a fair price. 9.99 for lunch buffet and 14.99+tax for dinner buffet without needing to tip. Soda/tea is extra 1.69. Venue: larrrge Food: my faves are the hibachi steak, chicken teriyaki, peel and eat shrimp, prime rib. Lots of other options. The quality can vary depending on the turn around of the food. Summary: for people who work or live here, its very welcome option in a food desert.
