Hickory & Ash in Broomfield delivered. The Lobster Bisque was a rich prelude to a perfectly cooked NY Strip Loin, all rounded off with a refreshing orange sorbet. Add in chill vibes and spot-on service, and you've got a solid win.

I went for restaurant week and wow! So good. But outside of restaurant week, it is a bit out of my price range, but I really did enjoy myself. No complaints, and everything I had was great! The New York strip was melt in the mouth. Lobster bisque was different and wonderful. And a carrot dip. Plus, their bread and butter to top it off.

First time out at Hickory & Ash. This spot has a great vibe on the inside. I found the place to be well decorated and everyone was friendly. I would say that all of the food was good, maybe a few things they could improve on. They provided sourdough bread for the table, the butter was great, the bread was a bit dry and 5/10. For our appetizer we started with the braised meatballs, great flavor and excellent with polenta 8.5/10. We also tried the carrot cashew dip with grilled pita. The pita was excellent and they were nice enough to bring us more. The dip was very good, had reminded me of a mild peanut butter and jelly 7.9/10. We split the wedge salad, pretty straight forward, no thrills, a little on the plain side - but everything you would hope for a good salad 7/10. It felt like we waited a very long time for our entrees to come out, close to 30 minutes after we ordered. The braised short rib with cheddar polenta was alright, it lacked a lot of flavor. Everything on the plate was cooked well, however two small pieces of short rib which needed better seasoning 6.5/10. The stand out dish was the bourbon & coke pork chop, well cooked and had a great flavor. I personally thought the cabbage that they served it with would have been much better if it was not served cold. 8.5/10 on the dish as a whole as the pork was a little undercooked. We also got the charred baby carrots 8/10 and the triple cooked fries which were pretty good 8.1/10. We finished up with a matcha cheesecake which was a great way to finish a meal 8/10. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. The place appeared to have a nice amount of people for a snowy Tuesday evening.

Our server was very attentive and had quick recommendations. Our appetizer came out fast but the bread was completely burnt. Which was unfortunate because the tartar was nice. The short ribs were cooked well but seemed to lack in seasoning. The atmosphere was inviting, and beautiful. Thank you!

We live in Denver, were going to see Pigeons Playing Ping Pong in Boulder, so decided to check this place out for dinner before heading to Boulder. Great decision. First of all, I would like to complement Chow, our server. He was energetic, welcoming, and efficient. On Point, without a doubt, and did so while getting very busy while we were there. He made our experience so much better, with energy and food and drink advice. Thanks, Chow, and don't be shy about promoting this server, management! We went there during Restaurant Week, so the portions in the pics might be less than what you typically would get, but that is to be expected for regular restaurant-goers. The drink options were all over the board, and great. My wife had a vodka drink that had hibiscus that was tasty, and I had a beer. The food. The wedge was delicious and a large portion for a starter. Wife and I both LOVED the green goddess dressing. Magical. I got the lobster bisque, and it equaled the magicality (probably not a word) of her salad dressing. It is in the style of less creamy, and more seafood-y (just letting the folks who expect creamy bisque), but I loved it. Sad it was gone when I was done. Wife got the steak, and it was great, but the mashed potatoes are what caught my attention. The onion flavoring, the taste overall...was only sad because it wasn't on my side of the table. My short ribs were incredible. They were on a bed of polenta, and the sun-dried tomatoes added to the flavor flawlessly. The desserts. Wow, I loved my peanut butter thing. I was warned that it was so rich that a couple bites might do me, but I ate a couple of bites, blinked, and it was...gone. Loved it. She got the Matcha-cheesecake item. She loved it. Not my style, but I recognize the brilliance of it for those types of people. The atmosphere was nice, although we both had a little trouble with the WIFI. Good. It helped us stay away from the technology obstacles and we talked with each other more lol... Maybe it was because we were the back table in the back room though. But, that didn't diminish the experience nor my five-star review. This review wouldn't be complete without a Seinfeld reference. JERRY: "But you yada yada'd over the best part." ELAINE: "No, I mentioned the bisque." I highly recommend, and we are jealous of you Broomfield residents that have this place in your back pocket. We will be back, and see you there!

We went to Hickory & Ash for my birthday, and WOW we were so impressed! Kyle was our server, and he went out of his way to make us feel special and paced the meal beautifully. From the wine recommendations to the dishes, we were so happy with all of our choices. We ordered the short ribs, glazed pork chop, and a wedge salad. All DELIGHTFUL. Ended the meal with a PB&J bar which was also delicious. We can’t wait to come back and try more of the food.

Google
Was looking for a nice place to eat and this place popped up. Love the atmosphere, upscale decor but laid back. I had the steak tartar, freaking really different and really good. Then I had the lamb shank, tender fall off the bone, amazing! The service was great, very attentive from the drinks to the overall service. Would I go here again, absolutely great place to eat by yourself at the bar or with friends or with work colleagues. I highly recommend it!

Just moved to Broomfield and this was our first Dinner here.Amazing Great atmosphere, fun staff and the hush puppies were amazing. We had a small issue with the cook on a steak, but the manager noticed it almost almost before we did and fixed it. Very impressed. Nathan was so kind!

Yelp
I've dined here a couple of times for work related customer dinners and I'm very impressed with the whole experience. The restaurant is very spacious, bright with contemporary decor but with warm touches throughout. The service was impressive on both occasions. The staff is very accommodating and knows their menu, food preparation and detailed ingredients for each. We were greeted with a smile at the entry on both occasions. The food is delicious, fresh, consistent and of high value for the price. It's also a well rounded menu with not only high quality steaks but other entrees that I found delicious. My Colorado Lamb Shank with Farrotto, Feta, Snap Peas and Pepper Jam was absolutely amazing. It was super tender and flavorful. The Hickory Grilled Salmon was also well prepared with the salmon moist. On my second visit, I had the Ribeye with the Herb Chimichurri. The temperature was perfect to order. The cocktails are strong and delicious, I loved my Mayor cocktail, a resemblance to an old fashioned. I would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.

Yelp
The pumpkin custard dessert and pb & j candy dessert were the highlights! Everything else was good, but these two definitely got the most attention. We visited here during dinner time. The restaurant has a warm and stylish vibe. Our server was kind and attentive. It was quite busy, so I'd recommended making reservations, especially for larger parties. To start, I had the Chinese chopped salad. It was fine, but not something I'd choose again. For my main course, I had the braised short ribs with cheddar polenta and broccolini. It was really flavorful and well cooked. I also tried the Colorado Lamb Shank, and it was delicious. The meat was tender and falling off the bone with ease. A nice balance of savory and rich flavors. I noticed the portions of side dishes are on the smaller side. The asparagus consisted of only 5 spears, which felt a bit underwhelming for the price. Considering the cost and portion size, I'd recommend focusing on the main dishes instead. Those seem to offer better value. There's plenty of parking spots available outside. I'm looking forward to returning.

Yelp
I had seen this place while searching for somewhere to go for a celebration but always put off actually going. It looked nice and the menu looked good but I always felt a little bit underwhelmed by how it sold itself online. The trouble of someone who uses Yelp too much, I guess. I am glad I finally took the leap and decided to celebrate a recent bit of good news here with my wife and daughter. First of all, the decision to go here was very last minute so I called pretty much 10 minutes before we wanted to be at the restaurant and found out that the next open reservation was 5 minutes from the time of calling. If we couldn't make that, we would be out of luck for the night. I asked the person on the phone if we could be a bit late and it would still be alright, he said yes but just to be aware that eventually they would need our table for the next reservation despite how late we might be. He also let me know they have open bar seating but since my eight year old would be joining, this was a no go. We hopped into the car and made it in about 8 minutes. Despite being late for our booked time everyone was super nice and friendly. Though the establishment did look empty. Maybe my one piece of feedback if that the table layout at this place could be better. They don't have a lot of intimate table tops and instead all their tables seem to be suited for big parties, which seems odd for a place that could be a nice date spot. Small gripe though. Our server was very good (missed their name, this is my fault). They were the type of server that almost is never seen but their presence is felt. Food and drinks came promptly but they didn't stop and chat at all. They also patiently listened to my daughter order which is always a plus. I got the mayor for my cocktail which was very good and perfectly complimented the flavors of the food I was ordering. I started with the endive salad with Caesar dressing. This salad was incredible. It was the perfect starter and honestly maybe one of the best salads I have had in a long time. It was crisp and flavorful and the hit of lemon they added made the whole thing pop. For my meal, I had the filet mignon (with the au poivre). As well as mashed potatoes and crispy Brussels sprouts. Everything was spot on perfect for what I wanted. This is the type of place that if you order a steak you will need to order the sides separately but the side portions were not too small, not too big and they didn't break the bank. That au poivre sauce (it was a sauce on the side and not a preparation of the steak) was incredible. All their steaks come with their house made steak sauce but I would say shell out the extra couple dollars and get the au poivre. It made the meal for me. Bold flavor with the right amount of pepper hit. The crispy Brussels sprouts were incredible and won against the battle of sides against my mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes were great too but they were very much just traditional mashed potatoes with nothing fancy too them. Overall, if you want to enjoy a nice meal with some loved ones. Go here. It is the nicest place in Broomfield as far as ambience and classy food.

Yelp
We come here after theater at the Arvada Center, and always have a good time. Decent array of cocktails, tasty food, friendly service. Handles larger groups well.

Yelp
What a great find! I'm already looking forward to coming back! This place offers an upscale dining experience that's surprisingly affordable for the quality. A few standout dishes made the night truly memorable--our waiter, Chau, recommended the tartare, and it was fantastic, definitely one of my favorites! The filet mignon and lamb were both cooked to perfection, and the red velvet cake for dessert was the perfect sweet finish. The ambiance is lovely, adding to the whole experience, and I'd suggest making reservations to ensure a spot. Everything went smoothly, and we all left happy and satisfied. Highly recommended! Happy eating!

Yelp
This place is the single best restaurant I have been in while visiting Colorado. I had 8:30 reservations on a Wednesday night. This palace wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. Our waiter Tristan was one of the best waiters I ever had. He was positive, had a smile on his face, talked to the table briefly and served our food quickly. We saw him making drinks as well. The lobster bisque is a must. It is more tomato based and less cream but this was the best bisque I've had. There were dumplings and lobster pieces throughout. I ordered the lamb shank which fell off the bone and was so flavorful. Unfortunately we could not stay for dessert but this is a must if you're looking for a quality restaurant without the heavy price.

Yelp
PROS Beautiful interior Friendly knowledgeable staff Excellent service overall One of the absolute best steak tartare! -see photo My wife's ribeye was perfectly prepared with amazing taste A wide variety of creative menu items Reasonably priced wines by the glass Low noise level Plenty of parking CONS My Bison Bolognese was made with cavatelli pasta - I think the last time I had the dish there it was prepared with tagliatelle ribbon pasta, which I prefer. The combination of the rich sauce and dense cavatelli pasta was too heavy for me. However, it still had wonderful flavor.

Yelp
If you like a neighborhood bar, give this place a try in Broomfield nice bar delicious food great staff.

Yelp
Amazing food and excellent service! I appreciated the number of gluten-free options they had. A beautiful restaurant that I will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
Had a horrible event at this place on my birthday. So disappointing in so many ways. I won't go back. The food was OK. The wine was acceptable. The service was deplorable. The hostess was the worst human being I've ever met in the industry. Don't go there. Don't go at all.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Fantastic spot for corporate events! The staff was efficient and friendly, the drinks were delicious, the food outstanding and the atmosphere great for the size of our group (20 ppl).

Yelp
Whoa, this place is a winner! Even though I had one of everything here - something that blew my mind, something I really disliked, and something that was average - I really enjoyed this place because it started off strong, the vibe both inside and outside is awesome, and the staff were great. The steak tar tar is what blew my mind. So fresh, light, and full of flavor. I wanted to order a second round, and probably will do so in my next visit. Outdoor seating was lovely, but the bees freaked me out so we switched to indoor seating. The restaurant was gracious and kind about it, and I'm glad we did it because then I got to see and enjoy more of the restaurant. Indoor seating is like modern, chic outdoorsy. Clever how they repurposed Aspen for ceiling and lighting decor. The lobster bisque was more watery and dark tasting than I like, and the waitress kindly removed it from our bill and offered an alternative. The mussels were fantastic - that broth makes me salivate just thinking about it. The bread was soo good with the butter that had herb-infused salt on it that we ordered a 2nd round of that, too. Can't get enough..! The meatballs were average - I believe each ball was a different meat and that was interesting. The steak was cooked perfectly but the quality of the meat itself was average. Execution is really exceptional! Very pleased with this restaurant out in the suburbs. Definitely worth going to.

Sydney W.

Yelp
Service was subpar and slow, the restaurant was loud as well. The food was full of char, which might be appealing to some but every option was charred and had that flavor, the salmon was dry and charred horribly. Definitely not a fancy restaurant (though the prices would make you think it is) people in shorts and tee-shirts not much dressed over that. If you're looking for a casual dining option with a lot of char this is the place. The staff definitely needs some re-training while they are kind they are not attentive and avoid eye contact while passing by.

DeAngelo W.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Hickory and Ash for some time now. Finally got my chance earlier this week. It didn't disappoint! Walking in the ambiance is warm and inviting. The staff was chipper and welcoming. I ordered the braised short rib over polenta with broccolini, a side salad, and a cocktail. Every thing was delicious. I've been on run of having just ok short rib at restaurants so this was a refreshingly warm welcome. The polenta and broccolini melded well with the short rib. The salad was a salad. Nothing major to write home here. The cocktail was absolutely delicious. It was tequila based with the named Jalisco in it. It had mezcal and grapefruit and it along with the food put my taste buds in a culinary blender. Also, it was not very expensive. Really great value. I'll definitely be back to try a steak. Highly recommend stopping in.

Ben H.

Yelp
The town of Broomsfield is quiet. The trees are uniformly lit with white lights with snow is on the ground. On the south end of downtown is Hickory and Ash. Quiet on the outside, vibrant on the inside. I ordered the Colorado lamb shank. The idiosynchractic pepper jam was what really stood out. It was good. The lamb was fall off the bone and was accompanied by barley and snap peas. All the major food groups were hit with this meal. Kudos to the chef.

Yelp
My husband and I went out for Friday Night date night on a recommendation from a friend. We had a reservation and waited a couple of minutes to be greeted when we arrived and then had to wait while the table was made ready. We were seated and waited too long for our server though he was apologetic when he did come which I appreciated and told him so. We ordered a glass of wine and the Braised Meatballs for an appetizer. They arrived hot and the bed of polenta they were on was just as delicious as the meatballs. The meatballs were not dry and they had great flavor. We shared a 16oz Ribeye steak with au poivre sauce and the fries for a side. (There is a separate charge for the sauce and the side) The steak was tender and cooked to our order (medium rare) and I would definitely recommend this steak! The fries we should have sent back and after seeing the table next to us get theirs I wish we would have but it was too late. The fries were not golden and crispy with a tender center, they were brown and crunchy from being over cooked. We ate all but the really crispy ones and then moved on. My husband likes to end his meal with decaf espresso and I prefer a nice wine for dessert. I ordered the Chateau de Cosse, Sauternes, France 2017 and will now go look for a bottle. It is not a super sweet dessert wine and has notes of fruit and a dry finish. A perfect ending to the meal and had our fries been the golden brown of our neighbors, we would have had a perfect meal. We will be back here.

Yelp
Delicious food! Great service! Fun atmosphere! This has been a sweet location for a date or for the whole family.

Niki S.

Yelp
Given the location, I did not have high hopes for this place. I assumed it would be maybe 2 steps up from Aramark but I was happily surprised. Everything everyone ordered was good. I requested that my salmon be slightly undercooked and it was perfect, as were the veggies on the plate. My friends who ordered the steak frites thought the steaks were well cooked (medium rare) and properly seasoned (the Chimichurri sauce was maybe a touch salty). Other friends thoroughly enjoyed the root veggie pot pie (and it's nice to see a hearty veggie option on a menu). If they could add another veggie option (a pasta?), that would be nice. Service was really lovely, not rushed, and they were willing to split checks - that's always appreciated. Side note - the photos make the place look more formal - it is very casual (and comfortable and warm). Overall, this is a good go-to spot for anyone in the area. I think most people will be sufficiently happy with the meal, service, and prices.

Yelp
Dinner tonight was a dream! My mouth is still watering from the meal I got the roasted lamb shank which came on top of farrotto (farro risotto -- learned that today!), with snap peas, feta and a pepper jam. My husband got a wedge salad and added a salmon filet. And we started off with some bread and butter which I usually wouldn't take a picture of but loved that the butter had herbed salt (the various herbs made it green) on it which was a small detail but very nice touch! My meal was so delicious. The meat practically fell off the bone and paired so nicely with all the ingredients in the dish. It had the perfect amount of farro, snap peas, feta and pepper jam. Soo good. We sat at the bar b/c it would've been about a 30 min wait for a table without a reservation and we were hungry! Servers were attentive and took good care of us. And we loved the vibes of the restaurant as a whole. Overall, a little pricey but definitely delicious and worth it!

Katrena H.

Yelp
4/5 Drinks 2/5 Food The atmosphere and ambiance is fair. The food was Mediocre. The lamb shank was flavorful and the best entree. The salmon was over cooked without flavor and bland ... Steak wasn't good . This was good for drinks but the food was .

Jeanette H.

Yelp
good ambience! we ate there a few months ago and the steak was not good. We decided to try it again last Saturday evening and his steak was cooked fine and I had the salmon which was fine once I got to the middle. everything was so salty I could not eat the sauce which was over the asparagus etc. My husband's mashed potatoes were so salty he could not eat them. very disappointing as we used to love this restaurant.

Kevin A.

Yelp
Three words! Braised Short Ribs. You can thank me later! Nathaniel's service made this a top not h 5 star experience!

Pauline L.

Yelp
The food was fantastic however on a week night, it was very noisy for a small dining party. There were multiple large buisness parties dining and it was hard to hold a conversation.

Katie N.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from hickory and ash and loved it--- I plan to go back and can hopefully change the 4/5 to a 5/5!! I ordered the steak frites. The fries were not the traditional string fries, but steak fry cut. Makes sense given the restaurant. Also was super excited when I saw that take out orders include some of the hyped up fresh bread and butter. Can confirm it's delicious!

Kara H.

Yelp
Not many places live up to the hype, but hickory and ash sure does! Everything from the food to the service was fabulous. Robert, our server, was kind, friendly, and super knowledgeable. Our phones had died shortly before arriving, and he offered to give them a charge so we could take pictures at the show later. I was so impressed with how, once things started getting busy, he handled the entire bar plus made the drinks for the servers efficiently and with artistry. He set a high bar! The food was just stellar as well. The apple cider pork chops had a sweet and sour sauce, with a pecan granola and sweet potato gnocchi. It was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. Definitely the star of the meal. The bison bolognese was excellent as well, and we also had a side of twice baked Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the mashed potatoes, and that's not because they weren't good- they were excellent! They were just overshadowed by everything else. We also had the H&A seltzer, which was a good balance of sweet and tart, the cold buttered rum, which had a strong toffee taste, and the Caribbean drink was tasty as well. We also did the gamay, which was smooth. Definitely come expecting to drop some dough, and make a reservation if you are coming around show time (but don't turn your nose up at sitting at the bar, because that's where Robert is). Highly highly recommend and would absolutely come back for a special occasion.

Thomas W.

Yelp
Went here first dinner and was not disappointed. The food was outstanding and the drinks were lively. Our waiter was also super cool and service was quick. I liked the quiet ambiance.

Souzana V.

Yelp
Made a reservation here for dinner before catching a show. My second time here and my brother and mom's first time. Our waiter Robert was friendly and awesome. We started off with the complimentary bread and butter. My mom and brother ordered and split a caesar salad, a 16 oz ribeye steak, a side of asparagus, and two sides of the king trumpet mushrooms. I just ordered the salmon dish that came with sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, and king trumpet mushrooms. All the food was super delicious and the king trumpet mushrooms were a hit and that's why they ordered a second helping of the mushrooms. Food came out in decent time. I am very pleased with the food here and wait staff. I look forward to coming here in the future.

Yelp
I went here for my birthday last week with my boyfriend, and overall we both agreed that that restaurant was just... fine. All the dishes were up to par, though nothing blew us out of the water (though I'll only give less then five stars if I have any valid complaints about an establishment). Though I will mention that some of the items on the menu were worded in a strange way. For example the desert custard said it was "topped with candy corn." Now I feel most people, including my boyfriend and I, when we read "candy corn" we think of the white, black, and orange triangle shaped candies you get at Halloween. But nope come to find out what they meant by "candy corn" was actually "Carmel corn." Which makes much more sense and makes the dish sound wayy more appealing! ‍

Rachael E.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary as we actually went there on our first date. We were very disappointed and upset that the ambience and 'fine dining' feel was gone. The server, Alex, made us feel like he didn't want to be there and not very friendly. He would ask us what we wanted every minute even after we asked for more time and we're still eating our app, we felt rushed. He said that they time everything to come out accordingly. We put in our entree order and also ordered a bottle of wine, a zinfandel, and they didn't have that bottle. We got a different bottle instead. Then our food comes out, the shrimp n grits and lamb and they both come out cold. I kept eating and eventually bite down on a sharp bone about 3in in length, almost looked like a fish bone. I picked it out and left it to the side. We got the bill and my boyfriend ordered 'makers on the rocks' and on the receipt it said '$10 bourbon' , $3 rocks'. We asked the server why we are getting charged $3 for rocks or ice - they said that they actually poor a double so that's the price difference but we only ordered a single on ice. Alex took it off the bill but over all we were very disappointed as we were excited from a previously good experience. This place has lost its fine dining experience but not the pricing.

Melissa W.

Yelp
This is a small American style restaurant in the Arista Broomfield community. I called and made a reservation for a half-booth on a Thursday evening. When we got to the restaurant they didn't hold a half-booth for us despite my request, and they sat us at a small table in the back of the restaurant near an exit door. Not the most ideal spot because they had a private event in the room just behind us with people constantly walking by us, coming and going from that room. Appetizer wise we got the potato croquettes, they were kind of dry and nothing special. We also ordered the P.E.I Mussels, they were absolutely 100% inedible. They stunk to high heaven of the sea, and the taste was just as fishy. I have never smelled or tasted mussels like that ever before. I honestly wish we had just sent them back because we didn't eat them at the restaurant, they were packaged up for us, we took them home and ended up throwing them away because they smelled and tasted so bad. Yuck! - 1 star. I ordered the Lobster Bisque which comes with Black Truffle Dumplings and Herb Cream. It was pretty good. It was bright red like a tomato soup, not the usual color I'm used to seeing for lobster bisque. It had a fair amount of lobster meat and the flavor was good. For my entrée I ordered the Braised Short Ribs which comes with Cheddar Polenta, Broccolini, Smoked Tomato, and Horseradish. (It also happens to be Gluten Free!) I thought it was excellent. My only concern is that I didn't eat the whole thing - I had one whole, untouched medallion of the short rib left. My waiter took my dish to pack it up for me. (Not the biggest fan when they take my dish elsewhere to pack it up, but when I am at a nicer restaurant I just try and go with the flow.) When he came back with my leftovers he had cut my medallion in half to fit it into a small to-go container. I was like, where was the other half of my short rib?! Did it get thrown away?! Not sure why he would do that when they have bigger containers. That's -1 star in itself right there. Not cool, bro. Not cool. My friend ordered the Colorado Lamb Shank and gave me a piece to try. The presentation on that dish was beautiful. The lamb with the sauce it came with was really delicious. Dessert was also okay. We got some sort of Panna Cotta with Passionfruit. I just wasn't a fan of the tall, narrow mason jar they served it in. All in all, in my humble opinion, I believe this restaurant still has some work to do to get itself elevated to the level it presents itself at. Not quite there yet, but getting there.

Azure G.

Yelp
I came here for a work event so my experience is related to only hors d'oeuvres and beverages, but what I had was top notch! Really lovely interior decor, very friendly staff, delicious and a good variety of food being passed around, and the cocktails were great. Unfortunately while we were here all of their beer was inaccessible - I think a CO2 issue - which is why they're not getting 5 stars on the first pass. I do plan on coming back for a full meal and can re-evaluate then. They also have a good size parking area, which is always a plus.

Amber R.

Yelp
The restaurant was aesthetically beautiful and in a great location. Walking up I saw people dressed very nicely walking in. Our server was very friendly and offered great service. The food however was not what I was expecting, at least not what I ordered. Our table ordered the meatballs and steak tartare for everyone to share. The meatballs were very good but I was definitely not a fan of the steak tartare. It did not have great flavor to me but that is just my preference, everyone else at the table liked it. Myself and a few others at the table then ordered the lobster bisque. It was very fishy and none of us who ordered it finished the bowl as it didn't taste very good. For my main course I ordered the Colorado lamb shank. I have never had lamb and to be honest it was not my favorite. Again, nothing against the way it was cooked it just wasn't a flavor I personally liked. It was served with farro which would've been tastier if it wasn't covered in a red pepper jam. Someone at my table ordered their filet "blue" and it came to the table very dry and overcooked. Our server politely took it back to the kitchen and brought out a new steak that was cooked perfectly. For dessert a few of us shared the red velvet cake and it was absolutely heavenly. I would order that cake again and again. Overall I would say if you are a steak person (which I am not) this is a place for you. And for sure order the red velvet cake!

Yelp
Business won't allow reviews on google. Makes sense. Came in for dinner mid week and sat at the bar. Bread isn't offered. You have to ask for that. Drinks were good and so was the side dish. Steak (ribeye) was pretty bad though. Med/rare comes out medium and is very tough. I'd probably meet someone for a drink here before going elsewhere but that's about it.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday recently. Wasn't too busy and had a great ambiance. Our steaks and apps were delicious. Didn't have drinks but the cocktails looked good!

Yelp
On a business trip, met with a client and wasn't really hungry, so tried appetizers and have to say I wish I was hungry because the food is outstanding! I am kind, wedge salad snob, and we'll say the wedge salad here is fantastic. Kind of picked a lot of appetizers and all of them were first rate I will be back keep up the great work.

Yelp
Very unique menu! The chef takes a very modern spin on classics. The French Onion soup came with a delicious mushroom croquet. The braised short ribs came with a creamy polenta, grilled veggies and were cooked to perfection. And the chicken sandwich, meatball app and bread for the table...ALL SO GOOD. A Colorado-centric restaurant with some flair. If you're thinking about going, just stop thinking and go. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Fantastic dining experience for our anniversary! We will Absolutely be back! We ordered steak tartar and a charcuterie board to share for starters. Both were excellent Dinner we both ordered the filet with different sides. All were excellent! Filets we're cooked to perfection. The crispy Brussels side was amazing -- flavored with balsamic and topped with a little cheese. We somehow saved room for dessert-- the peanut butter jelly bar. DEVINE.

Yelp
WARNING: This review contains a very biased opinion! I will spare you the entire background story of my next statement but will tell you that I knew the food was phenom, PRIOR to this discovery: KEVIN TAYLOR is my absolute favorite Denver Chef! Hands down, the best food I've ever eaten - he's made. Hickory & Ash's Executive Chef... RYAN TAYLOR, Kevin's son. Need I say more? We wandered in here on my birthday, after the cancellation of my hubs original plans for the evening (CO Avs game cancelled - boo!!) but boy oh, boy - am I ever so thankful we did! First glance at the menu, you could tell that it changes seasonally as all of the ingredients would have been fresh to source at this time of year. I opted for the lobster bisque (which evidently also changes, on occasion, as my photos - see attached - vary from those already posted). Hubs, who loves French onion soup gave it a try and Mr. Picky Pants opted for the ever safe Caesar salad. Hands down, THE BEST soup I've ever had. EVER!! Entrees were also delectable. Hubs had the filet, MPP tried the Rueben (I actually talked him out of the cheeseburger! SCORE!!), and I had the roasted half chicken - poblano grits, fried okra, pickled green beans, "red hot" butter, and biscuit croutons? Yes, please!! (my mouth is watering just thinking about it now!) Please feel free to drool over the photos! Desserts - since it was my birthday, afterall: PB&J Candy bar, Blueberry Pie Pop (spoiler alert, WOW!!!!) and Mexican chocolate pot de creme with gingered pineapple. All delish, but I have a blueberry weakness, so this was by far my favorite! In short (or is it at length at this point?), we will dine here again. The TRG (Taylor Restaurant Group) is a talented bunch and never disappoints with unique flavors and beautiful presentations! Don't hesitate! ALL thumbs all the way up!

Yelp
Delicious food and great service! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile but never was able to get a reservation, so I figured the food had to be good! And I was not disappointed! The baked Brie appetizer was amazing! And everyone loved what they ordered! It's definitely more geared towards meat dishes, but there are a few vegetarian options too!

Yelp
This was a great meal and wonderful dining experience. Our server Brenden (with 2 E's) was very knowledgeable and took extra time to describe the entrees and appetizers to us. The restaurant was well lit but with a low light that gave a rustic romantic vibe. We ordered the steak tartar for an appetizer, which was flavored perfectly. For an entree, I had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection as well as the lamb April ordered. All in all it was a fantastic meal and wonderful time. Brenden was extremely attentive refilling my water no less than 7 times. I have nothing but great things to say about Hickory and Ash.

Yelp
I love having another option in the area and this place is good. I really wish more people would come to this center because it's super cute and has some good dining options. I had a lovely mom / daughter dinner here.

Yelp
My expectations were high, maybe too high?!! As walk-ins, we enjoyed a nice meal with wonderful service at the bar. My pork loin meal was unique and flavorful, tender pork, smoked tender carrots, sour kraut perogi, sweet potato puree.

Yelp
Server Anna was exceptional. Ordered Lamb and Steaks, both delicious. Dessert same. Definitely on list next visit to town.

Yelp
Easily one of our favorite dinner spots in denver area. It's a hidden gem with fast and efficient service, great ambiance and amazing food. We loved the old fashioned, bison bolognese, and salmon!

Yelp
Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes? The classy vibe and setting is great- no complaints there. The drinks were ok. Nothing to rave home about. I ordered the ribeye (medium rare) and was super disappointed. It felt like they had seared both sides dry, and then served it to me with a cup of A1 steak sauce. The steak came out dry and bland, and I'm also not someone who puts sauce on my steak, so I was super disappointed with the steak. The middle made it look like it was a frozen steak that hadn't come to room temp soon enough before being cooked/served. They do offer bread and butter in the beginning as you wait, but the bread is pre toasted and then served cold. My boyfriend ordered the short ribs. These were good and the reason why I think maybe I just ordered the wrong things.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance and solid service. If red meat is your thing, I highly recommend you either opt for raw (they have delish tartar) or slow cooked (lamb shank and short rib are both heavenly). I ordered a medium ny strip and basically got burnt rubber. The server didn't bother making it right since my hubby was nice enough to switch plates with me lol. Honestly a steak should be easy enough to get right. They also ran out of salmon and that was their only fish option.. Hopefully was just an off night.
