Hickory Bar-B-Q

Went here based on a friend’s recommendation. We showed up on a Saturday expecting a bit of a wait, which is pretty normal. But to our surprise, there was no host or anyone at the entrance. We waited around 20 minutes, and no one ever came to greet us or even take our name for a waitlist. We weren’t the only ones other people were standing around too, just as confused. Eventually, we all ended up leaving without ever talking to a single staff member. Not a great first impression. It honestly felt like the place was super understaffed. I wouldn’t recommend going on a weekend unless you’re okay with possibly waiting forever just to be acknowledged.

Visiting from Florida. Brought in 7 guests. I always have dinner there when I come to town. This unfortunately will be my last time. Spent nearly $500.00 to treat our guests. Driest chicken and steak I've ever had. For barbecue chicken, wondered where the sauce was. Not generally one to complain, but disappointed and almost embarrassed.

My lady and I decided to try the 'Authentic Hungarian cabbage rolls'. I am half-Hungarian, and I know what cabbage rolls should taste like. What they brought out wasn't even remotely close!!!! They were wrapped in something akin to thin leather that you could hardly cut with a sharp knife!! AND---they were prepared without the first bit of sauerkraut!!! As I said before, NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE!!!!!! Their other choices are great, but BEWARE OF THE CABBAGE ROLLS!!!!!!

Can be a very long wait but it's worth it! Building is very historical, small bar and multiple rooms to eat in. The food was amazing. We got steak, ribs and shrimp. All amazing, the steaks was super tinder

We had reservations for my brother's birthday dinner. The service was good, but our steaks was so tough couldn't chew it. Most of mine and my Mom's was gristle and fat it was a NY steak medium rare. I mentioned it to the waitress, she just said sorry. Almost $40 for 3 steaks we couldn't eat. Very bad experience. Sheba Cramer

The bar and restaurant is a little small but very cozy. The waitress was great and cheerful. She seemed to like working there and it showed. The food was great and prepared to perfection. I will definitely recommend this business to everyone I know.

We like to go for lunch late afternoon when there’s fewer people and more quiet time. The outside doesn’t say much for the business but the interior is all class! A very traditional bar and restaurant. The staff are superb and the food is excellent. Thank you all!

The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. This is a great place to go to celebrate something special or just make your day better. The steak and baked potato is hard to beat.
