Inside Pacific Beach’s New Surfside Hideaway | Eater San Diego

"Conveying chic beach bungalow vibes, I found the 5,500-square-foot Hideaway has come ashore in Pacific Beach on Mission Boulevard near the iconic Crystal Pier. Related to Tower12, the space echoes that pier-side venue’s retro decor honoring vintage surf culture and leans on a casual menu of American regional classics. With a public grand opening party scheduled for Thursday, June 20, the restaurant will offer live music and DJs and a variety of hangout options including outdoor patios, cozy fireside lounges, and large dining areas for groups, each supported by two full-service bars with 30 beer taps, specialty drinks, and large-format “social bowls” of sharable cocktails ranging from a flaming Volcano bowl to a mini party keg filled with margaritas. The all-day, late-night menu features bar bites, salads, wings, wood-fired pizza, sandwiches and burgers, and comfort-food favorites such as chicken pot pie, braised short ribs, rotisserie chicken, and rigatoni with meatballs, with weekend brunch in the works." - Candice Woo

Thought we would try as we were staying nearby. Perfect table on the patio. The staff was so nice. Ellie our server is the best server I’ve had in years! So personable and fun to chat with. Made my birthday even more special. My frozen strawberry margarita was excellent. Our pizzas were so delicious! We will be back on our next visit.

Excellent food and fantastic drinks in an awesome setting. This is THE place to be! This place was so good yesterday we came back for lunch today. Standout were the braised beef rib, chicken pot pie, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. The Pineapple Michelada and Rose Sangria were really good also.

Loved our brunch at Hideaway in Pacific Beach! Perfect relaxing beach vibes. Beautifully designed restaurant, each room is really fun and cool, including the dog friendly patio. We enjoyed the coastal lobster omelet, lobster egg benedict, and cowabunga kid’s cheeseburger. Really good cocktails, we had the Irish coffee carajillo and Fire Marshall Bill. The service is excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Recommend!

I’m here at least twice a week. EXCELLENT food, drinks, ambience and service. Ieva, Jackson and Madison are GREAT bartenders- ask for them! Chuck is awesome too. Hands down best dishes are the Salmon, the hanging pretzel and the pot pie. Don’t sleep on this spot!

Love this place for happy hour and basically anytime! 🍹 Great cocktails and food! The hummus plate and Korean hot wings were incredible. The spicy margs for happy hour are a great deal and huge. The vibe is beachy and fun and the service is great. Easy for families and dog friendly!

The best vibe for a Sunday afternoon! We had the ham, egg & cheese scramble and the White Cheddar French Omelette - it exceeded our expectations! The quality and the flavors were delicious! I forgot to take a picture of my food before I ate it but here is a picture

The breakfast burrito with bacon really hit the spot. The eggs and tots blended magnificently and the bacon and cheese anchored with some savory notes. Service was great. Helped with ordering decorations and no top of refills etc.

My friend and I came here last minute recommended by a Luigie's employee because I wanted pizza and my friend wanted wings and Luigie's was closing so we came here, good choice! We met the manager Will and he was very nice and great customer service and awesome food and drink recommendations! The Iron man drink was awesome and tasty 😋 Mattie was our bartender he served our drinks right! My friend had the Cadillac Margarita! We had the sweet and spicy chicken wings and the margarita pizza, Also had the mac and cheese and the wiseguy pizza (was so hungry I forgot to take a picture lol) The food was all so good I would def recommend to try all of these dishes! Delicious 😋
