Hien From Vietnam - Review - Little Italy - New York - The Infatuation

"There's a new coffee shop in Little Italy. Hien From Vietnam opened in August, bringing classic Vietnamese coffee to the neighborhood, as well as tea blends made from ingredients the owner brought from Vietnam." - Willa Moore

Where to Order Takeout for Thanksgiving in NYC

"I’m calling Vietnamese pickles from Hi:En From Vietnam the new cranberry sauce: jars of daikon-and-carrot or papaya with fish sauce add sweet-and-tangy brightness to a table, and you can also grab a little ca phe concentrate to make espresso martinis; they’re available in-store until they sell out." - Tammie Teclemariam

I have been looking for a quaint coffee shop in the neighborhood for some time. I walked into Hien from Vietnam unexpectedly today and was blown away by how cozy the shop was inside. The barista greeted me happily and was cheerful and kind. If you're in the NYC Chinatown area or looking for a new coffee shop to love, you absolutely have to check out Hien From Vietnam. It's a must-visit for its exceptional vietnamese coffee and wonderful atmosphere!

Walked by and decided to give it a try as I was craving a bit of coffee. It's a small and calm spot with a handful of small chairs for seating inside. Got the classic ca phe sua da and it was quite refreshing. Definitely got the caffeine boost I wanted, although I do wish there was a little bit more liquid and a bit less ice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice new option to the neighborhood for Viet coffee.

Firecracker coffee! The most gorgeous cafe - art space right on Mott street. The interior is stunning, curated and filled with art and amazing traditional Vietnamese coffee. It’s a beautiful space filled with light and good energy. The owner is a beautiful human whose smile will make you feel like you’re having coffee with a friend. A must visit 💖💖💖

Hien From Vietnam Coffee – a hidden gem on Mott Street – is more than just a place to enjoy coffee and tea from Vietnam. It’s a beautifully curated art space, brimming with personality and charm. Step inside and you’ll find an interior that feels like stepping into a sunlit gallery — walls adorned with original paintings and handmade art cards crafted by the owner herself. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, radiating warmth and creativity. The menu features authentic, delicately prepared Vietnamese coffee and tea, brewed with care and tradition. As you sip, you’ll feel the vibrant energy of the space — part café, part art exhibition, all heart. The owner’s welcoming smile makes the experience feel like catching up with an old friend over a perfect cup. This is not just a coffee stop — it’s a cultural and artistic experience you’ll want to revisit again and again. 💖

Google
Simple, cozy authentic Vietnamese coffee shop. I really love the taste of their coffee. Definitely becoming a frequent stop for me. I like that it’s a simple menu for people who just want coffee. They also sell some cute stationary and pickled goods.

Google
You must visit and try their authentic and delicious Vietnamese coffee. The owner Christmas is so welcoming, kind and knowledgeable - she provides a customized experience asking you questions to Forno the best coffee she can make. This place feels like you traveled to Vietnam and I’ve been twice In one week! Go!

Get there early, grab your drink of choice, and sit on the little couch which is placed perfectly to watch the parade of humanity on Mott St. Right now the menu is small, with just a handful of drinks and some wild-sourced teas, all served in paper cups. The cozy cafe is decorated with found items, books and wonderful paintings which I found out were created by the owner. She also has a refrigerated case full of fish sauce dressing and pickles for sale, all prepared by her. Hiền from Vietnam, both the person and the place, have soul. I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve together.

Google
Hands down one of the best Vietnamese coffees in the city (and she also uses crushed ice)! I can’t wait to go back and bring my friends here. Also, I love that you can adjust the caffeine and sweetness level~

Yelp
I was in Chinatown early morning and looking for a coffee shop to visit. I saw Hien From Vietnam on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The menu I saw was just two drinks. A classic Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk, and the same classic with the addition of whole milk. I've often thought I would enjoy Vietnamese iced coffee with a little less condensed milk and a splash of whole milk, and here it was on the menu. The flavor of the coffee was fabulous. One of the most delicious coffees I've had. I will say I wish the ice wasn't crushed, it made it hard to drink with my straw. The coffee might have been on of the most delicious, but it was also the most expensive regular sized coffee I've ever ordered at $10.88 (not including tip).

Yelp
A little on the pricier side so its not coffee i can get on a daily basis but its good. I like that they have decaf. I know, most people would tell me I'm stupid for even getting coffee at all if l'm looking to get decaf. But hey, I like my coffee. I like the taste. But as a new mother with a infant that cant handle caffeine, I don't have much choice. Most fancy café, especially vietnamese coffees do not offer decaf so I was very happy to see it here. What's even more impressive is how the flavor is still so good despite being decaf!! Maybe I just do not know where to look but the decaf I normally find are very mild in flavor. Recommended.

Yelp
We had lunch in the area and we all desperately needed a caffeine hit, since the food coma was setting in. I had Hien from Vietnam bookmarked, so we walked over. There was a bit of a line but it went by quickly. The barista was very nice and helpful when we had questions. I went with their Vietnamese coffee with oat milk and as little sweet as they can make it. Fantastic. Strong, flavorful, and hit the spot.

Yelp
NYC is in need of more Vietnamese iced coffee places, and this is the best one I've been to! The owner is so sweet, and when we visited, it was her 99th day being open! Definitely go and support her because as a self-proclaimed fanatic of Vietnamese iced coffee, I was obsessed with hers. I love that she has crushed ice because it slowly melts into the coffee and even turns it into a slush versus having huge cubes that dilute the taste of the drink. This coffee definitely woke me up, and I will be a returning customer!

Yelp
Went back again and it was just as magical even when it was fully packed! It was a great time and have to go back and try the pickle veggies and concentrate will report back

Yelp
Amazing in-house coffee made from beans fresh from Vietnam! Very convenient location near the canal street subway station. Aesthetically curated selection of stationery and coffee and tea, as well as homemade pickled selections and to go offerings. My favorite is the traditional Vietnamese coffee made with shaved ice and condensed milk! The service is exceptional and the ingredients used are high quality and traditional. The cafe is in its early opening stages so there's plenty in store that's to come including seats and light bites!

Yelp
Beautiful space and great rich coffee. Interior is cozy and just like quaint coffee shops in Vietnam.

Yelp
Every single coffee drink there is fabulous. I tried a different coffee every day. She has low to high caffeine selections. The girl running the shop is a delight and will explain all the options. Thank you for the the hospitality!

Yelp
Best Vietnamese coffee I've had. Actually so good. The lady that works there is also super sweet. Not too much room for seating but is very cozy. I plan on coming here WEEKLY!!!

Yelp
The coffee here is pretty delicious. I love the ice they use, and the sweetness can be adjusted well. The prices, however, are quite high.

Yelp
Found this little gem near me. Dropped by to try their coffee but ended up only getting their tea. Their black tea, the green tea and also the breakfast one. All their tea leaves are very good. Came here twice already. But hopefully I can try the coffee next time earlier in the morning. The tea barista is super sweet and friendly. Very welcoming vibe. Come and support a local and hidden gem in Chinatown. Outside looking in is a bit dark but step in and check out this cute new addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Simply the best Vietnamese iced coffee I've ever had! Incredible. They make it with crushed ice which makes a big difference. Strong, incredible flavor. Super nice barista! Just wish the space was bigger so hopefully they grow!

Yelp
Walking down Chinatown we saw a store with dim windows still undergoing construction. Poking our heads through the dim glass we were beckoned inside by Christmas and Don, the two most down to earth people who we had a great conversation with. They let us order when it wasn't open, and honestly it was a top tier ca phe sua da and the best thing we drank in Manhattan.

Yelp
Loved the drip low caffeine Vietnamese coffee!! Taste so good and smooth and the crushed ice .. just perfect 10/10!!! Will come back try the decaffeinated coffee... I didn't even know that there's low caffeine and decaffeinated Vietnamese coffee exist!!

Nicole L.

Yelp
Loveee the coffee it's so good!! I've never had Vietnamese coffee before but I liked how it was strong and not bitter like I've had at other places and that they had decaf options. Also really liked the traditional crushed ice, so refreshing and almost reminds me of like a slushy!

Yelp
Great coffee! Hiền is super friendly, and the atmosphere is pretty chill! Recommended!

Yelp
OMG! The vietnamese coffee was unbelievably good. The owner is kind and the ambiance is peaceful and charming. You need to visit!
