"Arcade meets bar meets distillery at High Bank in Grandview. It’s a sprawling and lofty space that includes an 8,000-square-foot restaurant, plus an arcade and patio, with 14-foot windows that give a glimpse of the stills where organic gin, vodka, and rye are made. Its sheer size and approachable American menu have made it a hotspot for groups and 20-somethings." - Beth Stallings

This is a breath taking exceptional high banks location- must visit! First thing is the atmosphere, it was incredible. The decoration is modern industrial and just really cool. Our waiter was Adam, exceptional and friendly! High banks has excellent food options available with something literally for anyone! I highly recommend coming to this location next time you are in the area!

Google
The place was really nice. We liked everything, — food, drinks, host, server. Only remark that the suggested tips were calculated based on the price after tax. We tip the place based on the price of purchased services but we do not tip the government for adding taxes on top of these services. Calculating tips based on the after tax price is cheap and unfair, hence minus one star.

Angela was the best! She made me feel welcome and appreciated. She was very patient with me when I had no idea what I wanted to get. But when I did order and ate the food was AMAZING!!! I think travel a lot for work so I’m not from here but I will definitely be back and hopefully I will have Angela again!

Google
First time visit today for brunch and we ordered the deviled eggs, chicken & biscuits, brunch wrap supreme & nitro cold brew. We loved the chicken & biscuits and deviled eggs (we understood the hype). The wrap was on the spicier side but it was still pretty good. The fries and the fry sauce that came with it were the best fries I have tasted in a LONG time! There was a mishap with our order (they gave us the hash and burrito instead of 2 chicken & biscuits). The manager and server were quick to rectify it so it was A+ for service. Also, we liked that they have kids menu. Some distillery places are not really kid friendly. The kids meal are on the pricer side but they give you a big portion.

Google
Amazing experience. Server Jack H is one of the best we’ve had in a while. Smoked old fashioned is great cocktail, not too sweet, good Smokey presentation. Purple reign cocktail was good too. Hot honey chicken biscuit was very tasty.

Located in beautiful downtown Westerville, the High Bank Distillery building is over 100 years old and was recently renovated from the old post office building to open its doors in August 2024. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the view to the busy street. Shannon the bartender was super nice and helpful. She recommended the tomato soup and the Spicy Chicken sandwich. Both items I got were absolutely stunning. The flavor of the chicken sandwich was spicy but not overwhelming. It was juicy in the middle and crispy on the outside. Tomato soup had a nice mixture in flavor and textures. It had bread crumbs, basil and a parmigiana cheese topping. The high quality ingredients stood out and allowed for an amazing dine in experience! If you haven’t been, check this place out!

Google
Place is very well decorated. Our server was nice and attentive. I ordered the chop cheese and the sandwich had so much flavor. Definitely will be back.

Google
The service wasn’t bad; it was fairly busy, but the steaks were slightly cold when they got to the table. The mac & cheese was good. The vodka drinks were better than the whiskey drinks. The old fashioned was a bit too bitter. The overall experience was decent - nothing stellar.

Yelp
Tammy was amazing and a very knowledgeable tour guide. She was generous with the High Banks tastings. This is our third time touring then having dinner in their restaurant.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Megan was so great! Definitely a must do in Columbus! Love High Bank!! Amazing spirits and food.

Ashley W.

Yelp
This is a HAPPY HOUR STAPLE! My friends and I love coming here and getting some delicious drinks and tasty treats! The bartenders are so sweet and they love experimenting with new flavors with the cocktails. Get to know your bartenders they are some of the coolest people you will ever meet. We got a Smoked Old Fashion, End of Anxiety and 2 bartender specials. All were unique in their own way. Warning: the Smoked Old Fashion is BOOZEY. Definitely designate a driver for that one. We paired that with the Bravas potatoes for good measure.

Yelp
So my girlfriend and I decided to go out on a Tuesday night to have dinner at Highbank distillery. Being that this was our first time and after doing our prior research, we were excited by the pictures and great reviews. Upon making reservations and arriving, we were seated in the back of the building, which was fine aside from all the gnats that were flying around us the entire duration of our meal. Our server was prompt on the initial interaction with food and drinks, but after our food was brought to us, she went missing an action For the duration of the meal. The drizzling chicken sandwich was absolutely disgusting. I ended up sending it back, which I would've rather sent it and swapped it for something else, but being as we were sitting there for 20 minutes without any interaction from our server, having to even go as far as to wave down another server to retrieve ours, I was no longer in the mood to sit and wait any longer with my girlfriend and the bugs for a replacement meal. Will not be back very disappointed. The beer was good though, I will say... even though I only got to try one.

Yelp
It's been a minute since my last HBD experiences, and honestly, this most recent dine-in up'd my opinion of this local eatery. Met my sister for dinner on the last nite of (614) Burger + Beer Week - I really wanted to try their feature burger, so it was now or never. Saturday night, the place wasn't too packed, we got a table. Service throughout the evening was good - no complaints. We didn't need much of anything, and she did a good job taking notice and backing off. Going straight to the food, we got the Devils Eggs sharable to start. They're quite good. I ultimately prefer a rather natural or extreme slight sweet taste, but their's lean to the pickle (dill) side, and surprisingly quite good; liked the dill chips, too. Their special burger offering for the week's city-wide event was The Brunch Burger, and it was super tasty! Loved the protein count with the beef patty plus fried egg. To go along with the burger and beer special, you had several side dishes to accompany this burger, if you wanted to add. Instead of customers fries, I got their Mac and Cheese. Verdict? Wow, pretty fluffin good! It's obviously higher quality cheese than you run of the mill Kraft or Velveta. The cheese was also very creamy, so it doesn't "dry out" or lose its appeal. Half of my meal left in a to-go container so I can appease my tastebuds a second meal. With this food experience a step above previous, my interest and inquisitive nature has been re-peaked, haha.

Yelp
We had dinner plans at 5:30p and parking was an issue. Had to park on side street and walk. Good ambiance, spacious and decent service. Blackened shrimp pasta was not a hit, however brussel sprouts were solid and definitely order again.

Sherry C.

Yelp
Hubby and I decided to have dinner here tonight as we have heard great things about it, plus he wanted to try some whiskey. He had an old fashion which he said was good and I had a a cocktail, cannot remember the name of it. Was very good. We both had the spicy chicken sandwich. Was also very good. Was a Monday night, as was pretty busy. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Check it out.

Hadlee L.

Yelp
I stopped by for brunch last week, and the experience was delightful as always. The brunch supreme wrap was outstanding!! It was well-seasoned and served hot. I also ordered a pimento grilled cheese to-go, and it did not disappoint either.

Stacia G.

Yelp
Love the open concept- great patio and nice doors that rolled up. Went on a Saturday night around 8. Had some cocktails and a great dinner- really enjoyed the mussels. Unique popcorn drink- really unusual tasting - in a good way. Looking forward to trying their Westerville location when I return to Ohio.

Yelp
Everytime I come to High Bank, I tend to be re-surprised at how nice the experience is. Its a casual distillery at heart but the food, dining experience, and cocktails are almost always a hit. I've been for dinners, brunch, happy hour and all have been good experiences. Service is always great, from the hosts to servers. I've called for reservations for larger parties and staff has always been great to interact with. Definitely one of the spots in Columbus that seems consistently great!

Eve R.

Yelp
I've been twice and had an amazing experience both times. Once was a brunch (just 2 of us), food was fresh and tasty and our server was very friendly. The other time was for a graduation brunch and there maybe 10 of us, one of whom had a rolling walker/wheelchair. The person who made the reservation hadn't mentioned this so when we arrived (I was the first) they had high top tables ready for us. When I realized and explained, they scrambled to get us at low tables and had us ready before the rest of the party arrived. Serious rockstars because it was not their fault at all. I will forever appreciate how well they handled it!! Just keep in mind sometimes you will be sat at high tops and the space is all polished concrete with super tall ceilings. It can get a bit loud. If those things don't bother you, it's a great local spot with a solid beer list, great cocktails, and tasty food!

Yelp
We visited High Bank for brunch on a Sunday with a large group. The menu is awesome, and several items sounded really good. I ordered a brunchwrap supreme and it was absolutely delicious. However, we were pretty disappointed in the beverages. A few of us ordered hot coffee. They brought them out in glass mugs (weird for coffee), and the color was so light that it was transparent and looked like green tea. We questioned our waitress when she brought them out but she reassured us it was coffee. I've never in my life had coffee so translucent. It also tasted like crap. I'm guessing whoever made the pot of coffee forgot to replace the coffee grounds so it ran over the old batch of grounds, perhaps even twice given the color. We had to send them back and re-ordered nitro cold brew coffees. But the cold brews also weren't very good, and tasted pretty watered down. I think we just had a bad experience with the beverages, but the food is definitely worth coming back for.

Yelp
We visited on a busy Friday at 630pm. Parking is a premium in their smallish lot and neighborhood streets. We were lucky. I have tasted their Whiskey War and maybe their gin. Both are tasty. When someone suggested dinner, we jumped at the chance. You can look at the menu in other posts but we found it to be really good bar food. Nice spins on old faves served in an exciting industrial atmosphere. Nice service. Our server seemed to have too many tables but she was very personable. Our Caesar and hamburger (it's a double!) were excellent as was my $9 whiskey. It was probably that price because it looked like a short pour. We are new fans and will be back!

James B.

Yelp
Ok.... We saw the episode of "Diners, Drives and Dives" by Guy Fiere and we had to get it. And the spot did not disappoint. Servers were on point with the recommendation and food came out with the quickness. We got the Brussels sprouts, deviled eggs and sticky wings as shareables then meat ball and hot honey biscuits as an entree..

Abby K.

Yelp
All I have to say is WOW! AMAZING! DELICIOUS! FANTASTIC! 10/5 stars if possible!! I LOVE High Bank and they never fail to disappoint. Went for a girls happy hour and split 3 apps with drinks. The food and drink were AMAZING, I loved sitting on the patio in the perfect weather, and the service was great too. I will 100% be back!!!! Definitely make a reservation in advance, especially if you want to sit on the patio which you can request otherwise it might be too busy, especially at Happy Hour!

Micah T.

Yelp
Bathroom was pretty meh, soap dispensers were empty but hand sanitizer was full. However, the meal was really good. Easily surpasses alot of cuisine when I think of other competing distilleries. I went with a group of friends for dinner (plus the tail-end of the OSU game) and we had a great time. We started off with drinks that were decntly priced and tasted really good. Then for the meals the portions were defintely generous and filling. I got the spicy chicken sandwich which is easily in my top 5 chicken sandwiches in Columbus, and the steak fries were the best I've had in a long time! In terms of the ambience it's a very open environment with several TV's along the walls/pillars for easy viewing. The booth seats were comfortable enough from where we sat. There is outdoor seating available and I think they're able to open up the distillery to the outside during the warmer months. Overall I really enjoyed myself and will be back to try their Lunch/Brunch and defintely pickup another chicken sandwich again! I rate it a 4.6/5.

Zac K.

Yelp
We visited for happy hour and got there early so they weren't super busy, the hostess was friendly and we immediately got a table. I absolutely loved the industrial style of the building that really played into the distillery equipment you see through the large windows in the back! Since it was happy hour, cocktails were half price which is one of the best deals in Columbus! But the best part is the cocktails are truly fantastic. I had two different offerings, both made with their in house bourbon and both cocktails were well balanced, unique, and delicious. In addition, small plates are $2 off so we opted to try some of those also. The Crispy Brussels were the best brussel sprouts I had ever eaten and wish I could have them for every meal.

Tammi W.

Yelp
Stopped here because it's a DDD. Service was somewhat lacking, drink glasses stayed empty. Food was delicious!

Navya V.

Yelp
This place has some cool drinks made with their housemade spirits. For a Saturday evening, they were out of quite a few spirits and food items from their menu which was slightly dissapointing. The food and drinks we did get were good - particularly the blueberry basil drink was tasty yet strong. The brussel sprout appetizer was delicious, with the pepperoni and hot honey pizza as a close second.

Leslie A.

Yelp
Food was amazing!! Ambiance - open and clean Service was good The deviled eggs were delicious!!

Christina W.

Yelp
Great bar and restaurant in the downtown area. Came with family the weekend of Thanksgiving. Excellent service by our attentive waitress, Adrianna. Dining area had booths and tables, both low and high top. We sat at a night top table in the back by the windows. Enjoyed the view of the distillery. Large screen tvs on the walls. Korean Philly and Spicy Chicken sandwiches are both very good. The chicken is too spicy for me but hubby really enjoyed it. The Korean Philly is very good. But their Bravas Potatoes are great. Slightly smashed mini baked potatoes sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and served with a house dip. Happy Hour is M-F with half price cocktails.

Craig K.

Yelp
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. I had the Korean cheesesteak. It was served on very soft and delicious bread. The sandwich was very flavorful and unique. The fries were the best I've ever had anywhere. They have a large bar offering with many local beers and everything else you could want. I can't wait to return!

Keith B.

Yelp
Two years since I reviewed? Even though I was initially unimpressed, I kept returning! First and foremost - their whiskey is my favorite. They have the best smoked Old Fashioned in town (narrowly beating Worthington Tavern - NARROWLY) as well. First and foremost- their appetizers are amazing. The deviled eggs are delicious, but the crispy bits are inconsistent, but the flavor is always present (they're on top of white barbecue sauce, served with pickles - it just works). The crispy Brussels are also the best, period. Seriously, we have not found any anywhere else that even come close. Their only issue - sometimes they're perfectly crispy and flavorful. Sometimes, not so much. But that flavor is always there. Their burger is solid, but I'll be honest, it's always drinks and apps for us here. I hit the burger today (I skipped the burger week burger, I wasn't feeling mushrooms today) and it's a nice beefy burger - unpretentious. The fries are simple. Then it has a garlic aioli? That is amazing. I was full but I kept grabbing a fry to dip in it. So good. The service - has been on point. Their staff has been fast and friendly, and several have dropped drink recommendations. Food recommendations. They know the menu and the flavors, and that speaks well. Their bartenders get ran ragged - any time I've sat at the bar, they're moving, they're mixing, they're kicking ass. The management is fun - I've been here as part of a cycling group, and they were more than friendly in humoring this group of sweaty riders, giving us a tour of the distillery and giving samples. This place is often busy at peak hours, and it isn't a "because people say it's popular so they go and accept it" - it's that damn good. It is worth the wait. It's worth the price. It's a win all around for Columbus' food and distillery scene.

Rome L.

Yelp
Butcher on the bank - smoked old fashion was delicious Korean Philly was very tasty but couldn't taste any of the Asian features, in a blind taste test I wouldn't have been able to pick it out from a "standard" Philly Service was outstanding, we had a large group, they were able to put table together so we wouldn't be split up. And even brought out complimentary (delicious) cinamon toast crunch donuts for the birthday boy, complete with a lit candle

John H.

Yelp
Customer service was prompt and friendly. We picked up a couple 375s to try. Parking was hard to find even at noon. Cool atmosphere.

Laura C.

Yelp
Just picked this off of Google and so glad we did. Looking for a place that served cheese curds without having to drive way out to Young's. Wow! A meal in themselves. When we get an appetizer, we split our meal. Bacon cheese fried chicken sandwich with fries, along with the fried cheese curds, filled us up! We travel to Columbus a couple of times a year and most certainly will revisit High Bank.

Monica K.

Yelp
This was my first time having brunch at High Bank! I had made a reservation for 11:30 and we were seated promptly when we got there. The server brought us water soon after we sat down and took our drink orders. We got a spicy bloody Mary which was great and the perfect amount of spicy. For food, we shared a few things, family style. The server informed us that they had just rolled out their spring/summer menu :) We got: Green goddess hummus - which came with an assortment of veggies, warm pita and roasted pepper jam. I'd 100% recommend this dish. The combination between the hummus and the jam is lovely. Perfect summer menu. Donuts - their current donut flavor is blueberry. They were warm and not overly sweet. Ribeye bagel sandwich - the shaved ribeye was so tender! The sandwich had egg, cheese and their sauce on it. My only wish was to have some veggies in the sandwich, but regardless it was great. The only con was that it took about ~50 minutes for the sandwich to came out and we had a pretty long break between the appetizers and the sandwich. But we appreciated that the server continued to check on us.

Laura F.

Yelp
We came for dinner at 530. Not busy. The entire tiny parking lot was full-even the one handicapped spot. So we drove around a bit looking for street parking. We had reserved a patio table before we came. It was hot. Like 90. We were greeted by smiling hostesses. When I asked for a change of location to an inside table due to the heat they said there was a party coming in and couldn't sit us inside. Not sure why as when we left the massive dining room hadn't filled up. Irritating. Outside on the patio we had Ian as the server. If you get him you hit that jack pot. We really almost left as the dinner menu wasn't great (they rotate it) but Ians personality was, so we stayed and got more cocktail's. We added chicken nachos. Disliked the nachos. Strongly disliked them. Chicken tasted boiled with little flavor/seasoning. The chips were in the fryer too long, had no salt. They don't serve enough cheese for the chip ratio. Wont get nachos here again. Then we ordered hot honey pepperoni pizza. Get the pizza. Very good! Take away: I will go to Gahanna vs this location Parking is a joke. The inside is too big and feels cold and impersonal. Nachos are better elsewhere -anywhere else Pizza is excellent here. Crust crispy Cocktails are amazing here. Very creative They hire good servers, Ian was excellent and attentive. Dogs can come to patio-- always a plus!

Bryon T.

Yelp
I left High Bank Distillery last time in a bit of a disappointment. This time around was fantastic. The owner reached out to me to ensure that was a one off and graciously sent me a gift card. That certainly got my attention given I was back there not too after to give it another chance. Sure enough, I left very happy! The wings and nachos were great. The drinks were delicious. The owner certainly made it up to my wife and I and have made us regulars here!

Katharine T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch the other day... Tried both the seasonal mule and the pomegranate margarita. Both my cocktails and the bar service were fabulous. I also tried the bison potstickers and the boursin dip. The potstickers were fabulous - especially the nicely dressed cucumber salad that came with it - complemented the dish perfectly. The boursin dip I'd say was only ok. A bit runnier than worked and just not the dish for me.

Chaeso Y.

Yelp
(Visited back in may) All the shareable dishes and cocktails were on happy hour deal. Both cocktails were good but not something I would get again. Their foods were highly seasoned and salty. I guess they are meant to be paired with drinks and were better with drinks. Portions are literally shareable so ordering more dished than the number of group may be too much. Overall, great exprience.

Beth P.

Yelp
A fantastic night! We came as part of my husband's 36th birthday celebration and took a tour and had dinner. Everything from booking our tour reservation to the end of the meal was flawless. Our tour guide Tammy was phenomenol! Knowledgeable, entertaining, kind, and this role is perfect for her. The tour was interesting, well worth the cost, and the tasting was a blast. Our group of 9 then had dinner with multiple apps and drinks. The Brussels sprouts were awesome, the barbacoa fundido so yummy, and everyone seemed pleased with their meals. The grilled cheese was tasty but not my favorite, but still a yummy option. I hadn't visited here in 4+ years, but this visit solidified that we will be regulars!

Shalini H.

Yelp
Megan is awesome! Very informative and engaging. Had a great time and learned a lot! Tour was great. Food and drinks were delicious.

Bonnie N.

Yelp
Wonderful service & delicious cocktails. Love the patio. They made me feel so special for my birthday outing.

Abby R.

Yelp
Never a bad experience here! Came in about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and the staff assured us they would be happy to get us served. The food was fast and fresh and the fry sauce is the best thing on earth. It is a distillery and open flooring and can get loud, but never completely overwhelming.

Ken R.

Yelp
Fantastic tour with Tammy! She was knowledgeable and made our whole time a great one.

Pham

Yelp
Finding parking nearby was a struggle, doesn't look as good as the Gahanna location. Food was great!

Douglas K.

Yelp
The ambiance was good but for lunch we were disappointed. It's Friday afternoon of a long weekend and it's evident the fish and chips(French fries ) were cooked in old grease by dark color and taste.

Jenna L.

Yelp
I never leave reviews but this place was AMAZING so I had too. We just moved to Ohio and were looking for a fun date night in Columbus and decided a distillery for happy hour would be fun. I was expecting good cocktails but the food was also SO GOOD!! Brussels sprouts, nachos, prime steak, nothing missed. And cocktails were delicious. You can tell everything was well thought out. Also pretty affordable! Our server I think his name was Ian, was nice and informative! Will def be back!!

Brad S.

Yelp
Even for a busy Friday night we (3 of us) were able to get a spot at the bar pretty quickly. The speciality cocktails were great as well as the beer selection from local brewers. There was no messing around with the food either and the spicy chicken sandwich was unreal.

Kate S.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour and catch up with friends! There are food and drink options for all kinds of dietary needs that are delicious , it's a big open space and different kinds seating, tvs all around but you can still hear what's happening. Lack of parking is the only drawback, but haven't had to search too long- go there and enjoy!

Brandon M.

Yelp
Brunch is amazing here. The fries are so crispy and delicious. Would recommend the steak and egg bagel sandwich! Definitely a must go to place in Columbus.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Our server was great and this is a very nice place overall. Our appetizer was great. I hade the cáprese grilled cheese with bacon. It was good. My husband had the salmon and didn't like it. He felt like it had a funky taste and wouldn't finish it. I'm sure the pizza and sandwiches are better than the entrees, at least they looked better.

Mariah T.

Yelp
Our server was so kind and had great recommendations for our first time trying High Bank. The food was absolutely delicious and we made it just in time for the Saturday happy hour deals.

Aubrey L.

Yelp
I came to give this place a second try after my first experience in Gahanna wasn't great. The owner reached out and asked that I give another go so I did. I have to say everything that was disappointing in the first visit was perfect this time! I had a great time, food, drinks, and vibe were all great and I'll gladly be back again :)

Madeline M.

Yelp
The pizza 10/10 The bourbon 10/10 The vibe 10/10 The service 10/10 Wish this place was in our hometown!

Valerie G.

Yelp
Made reservations as we had a party of 10 for Saturday AM brunch. We got there and it wasn't nearly as busy as I thought it would be. It quickly became hopping in there around 11/1130. They have some awesome brunch drink deals ($5 beers, $5 mimosas, $5 bloody Mary's), and a decently extensive brunch menu. My only recommendation would be to incorporate &/or offer more vegan options or alternatives. I got the cheddar potato hash and my friend got the burrito. Both were amazing. The potato hash was the perfect amount of food. The space inside was huge, with many large high top tables and low tops, plus space at the bar. The bathrooms also did not have changing tables for diapers which was a bummer. Overall, was pleased and would be interested to come back for dinner.

Courtney P.

Yelp
I got a $5 beer and the southwest salad with chicken. It was delicious and full of flavors. The dressing was a little spicy but it was good! The salad was huge too so I didn't leave hungry.

Jaclyn C.

Yelp
This place is essential to Columbus and has to make the list of top 3 Happy Hour spots near downtown. Their cocktails are delicious and unique and their food pleasantly surprises me every time. It's a nicer cocktail restaurant so prices align with the aesthetic but the food is well worth the price. Brussels sprouts and deviled eggs are my favorite apps!
