Always enjoy being here. The 360° open view, sea breeze and rock formation combined forms a great experience. Very pleasant walk along the East Dam and Dolosse, if you just want an easy day out. It is also a good starting point for longer and / or tougher walks. In any case, there is no short of scenic spots. Would be good if there is public transportation to get there on weekdays !

A very good place for walking and photography and the main connection to Long Ke Wan, a very beautiful beach. Take a green taxi near Sai Kung bus terminal. About 20 to 25 minutes, you can get there. Taxi is the only transportation means to the East Dam. It is better to avoid to the Reservoir on Saturaday and Sunday as there are so many visitors. It is difficult to get a taxi back. Do also bring sunscreen, water, snacks, umbrella and cap as there is no shelter for strong sun light and rain. The taxi will normally stop at the East Dam of The High Island Reservoir. The green taxi experienced driver will advise you the starting point if you want to take a leisure walk along the dam or go to Po Bin Chau.

Took my breath away. We were there on the day Typhoon Saola approached HK. The wind was wild.

Must visit. A truly amazing part of Hong Kong. Great views over the South China Sea, the marvel of engineering of the dam wall, and off course the famous hexagonal columns. Everything is well sign posted. It's easy to walk around. There's some toilets too, but not any fresh water/food. So bring your own.

A place where taxis are accessible. Yet my friend and I walked all the way from Pak Tam Chung. It was around 20+km for the round trip. The view was stunning and visitors will be amazed by the art by the mother nature.

We were a group of 5 so taking a taxi from sai kung town center is ok. Otherwise the ride is about 130hkd. The view from here is breath taking. Plenty of photo opportunities. It is a relatively easy walk. You can walk up Po Pin Chau to take a look at these amazing columns of rock. Would come back again. Bring your own drinks and lunch as there is nothing you can buy once you are in maclehose trail. If you leave around 4pm, there are plenty of taxis.

Be prepared for the sun exposure when hiking at this location. It’s a fairy easy walk with lots of nice breezes. Be aware don’t cross the barriers and stand close to the rocks for pics, it’s not only a SELFISH behaviour and also put your life in danger! Because you will never know when will the rocks falls. “LOVE THE BEAUTY OF THE NATURE MORE THAN YOUR OWN PICTURES TAKING PLEASE!”

Very nice scenery and a must place to visit! Can see the interesting cofferdams, interlocking concrete anchors, hexagonal rock formations, different hiking trails, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, won’t regret.
