High Praise

The entire staff was amazing. I celebrated my bday with some friends and the staff treated me like a queen! Te appetizers were so good and the drinks, just fabulous! Will definitely go back!

It’s really unfortunate but this place is a nice venue but they really miss the mark. From the long wait to drinks, mediocre food, lack of simple drink ingredients (i.e., no simple syrup) bad service, all in all, it’s just a horrible place. There are far better rooftops in the city away from this one. I suggest you visit the other 3 before you waste your time and your money here.

I just came to write that Andy was such a kind and attentive server as we went down there for a super late dinner, and everyone was so nice. I was surprised to read the other two negative reviews that came up when I came on here, this was definitely not the experience I received. Take it for what it’s worth. But we had a lovely time, and everyone treated us respectfully and promptly. Very courteous service from Andy especially.

We came here for dinner before a race and to catch up with friends. We had a reservation ordered drinks and some food almost immediately - it took over 30 minutes to get a drink and over an hour for ¼ of our food to show up. The rest of the food didn’t appear until over an hour and a half after we ordered it. They were clearly short staffed but the whole experience was disappointing.

We waited 30+ minutes for 2 drinks. We finally went to the bar to cancel and the waitress asked the bartender and he made a rude face and started making the drinks then. The drinks came out and were not good. Glasses seemed barely full. Save your time and money

Your bar service is not fitting for the Intercontinental Hotel experience that I am accustomed to. Your bar tenders at High Praise are rude and dismissive of your patrons. If it is a problem to be in the service industry, they should not be in the service industry. I found better service at the lobby bar where Tony was solo and on top of his game. Your total bar staff is TRASH leading with Andy. 3rd visit, same results.

Drinks were not great but who ever decorated the place is five stars! Food for happy hour was good.

First they said they couldn’t handle a party of ten which was BS we got there and still nobody here. Then it took like 20 mins to get drinks, we had to tell them about our drinks that were just sitting on a table. Then the food was wrong cold and then they try to say if we could just swap the food items I WIL NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN AND I HIGHLY DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY NO WONDER they got GOT THREE STARS THE WORST ROOF TOP PLACE IN HISTORY

Cute bar. They had a DJ playing some good music. However... online says they have happy hour, server very rudely just said 'no' when we asked about it. Had couple watered down drinks and a flavorless chicken sandwich. Service was mediocre. Was so terribly disappointed. On TOP of it all... we were charged more than listed price on menu for EVERY single item we ordered. Maybe it wouldn't be so upsetting if it was great food & service. But it was far from it. Never again.

This was the first time stopping by High Praise! It's a really nice location with rooftop & I love the new inside decor. It's a nice spot for girls happy hour or bachelorette pre drink with all the flowers. Drinks were good & I liked the flavors but they weren't super strong. The snack menu is super small, that was the only part I wish they had more options that were more filling. They are coming out with a new menu so hopefully that's a focus for them. Staff is great & service was great! I like that they have valet as well.

Went on an off day or maybe to early but no one was there, completely empty. But you do get to walk thru the whole hotel to get there so you get to see the hotel in the way. Pass go somewhere else instead.

We stopped in for some cocktails, and unfortunately the table service seemed to be good, but it took 45+ minutes to get a bottle of wine. The martini arrived watered down so badly that it tasted like water. The place is new and hope that they will sort things out. Nice vibe, with a 3rd floor rooftop bar, so the ambiance is cool. Give it a couple of months.

New rooftop bar alert! Beautiful space with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very aesthetic and cutesy. Small snack menu with more menu rolling out soon once their kitchen is up and running! Enjoyed a glass of wine and cheese board with a friend. Friendly service. Valet parking offered. Excited to return again!

Located inside the new Intercontinental Hotel, this bar located on the third floor is gorgeously decorated with plenty of comfortable seating area inside as well as two rooftop patio areas (no heated lamps when we went this past Saturday). Their menu as of now is limited, so we just got a beer and truffle fries. Truffle fries were crispy on outside and fluffy on inside, but not worth the $16 price tag (I think more reasonable would be between $8-10). Our server was super attentive to us and appreciated the DJ who played mainly pop and hip hop at a good volume where you could enjoy the music but not too loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Prices were a little on higher side, which I do think is a con. It is a newer bar - we went on a Saturday night at 9:30 pm and it was only my husband and I for awhile until 10:30 pm when a group of 9 people came in I think after they were at a wedding. Parking wise they do validate your parking for an hour! So that's a plus. I think if you're looking for some pre or post dinner drinks, the ambiance alone is worth the visit but wouldn't recommend buying more than one drink/dish as the quality is not worth the price tag.

The gorgeous ambiance and customer service of this place definitely deserves HIGH PRAISE, but that's about it for me. The menu isn't that expansive, which is okay because they were enough good options to choose from. I decided to try out the Hamachi Tostadas and while they had great crunch and texture, there wasn't much flavor to them. When I asked around our table about everyone else's meals, they too, were unimpressed. Overall, this is a beautiful place to take photos of the gorgeous skyline and grab drinks, but I would definitely consider going elsewhere for food. Something to Note: This restaurant is located inside of the Intercontinental San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel, so complimentary valet is available.

High Praise Bars Dusty Diamond pop up was an absolute disaster from start to finish. It took a ridiculous 35 minutes just to get 5 drinks. The worst part? We ordered their own signature cocktails, the drinks they supposedly specialize in and they still managed to butcher them. When we finally got the drinks, they tasted absolutely horrible. How do you mess up your own menu drinks? After sending mine back and ordering a simple beer (which was clearly listed on their menu), I waited another 10 minutes just to be told they didn't even have it. Then, it took them an extra 10 minutes to find me an alternative. To top it all off, when it came time to pay, the staff didn't even know how to work the credit card machine. The service was beyond incompetent, the bartenders had no clue what they were doing, and the entire experience was frustrating from beginning to end. Save your time and money so many other options to choose from in SA.

Staying at hotel. Walked in to High Praise, ordered a dirty martini. Was not served a dirty martini, bar tender tried to correct when told but then really messed up the drink. Should have just taken the first try. Went downstairs to the DecoBar where we were welcomed with well made drinks. We will stay at IHG again but never go into High Praise. I agree with another reviewer- 'Seems like a corrupt bunch of teens and 20 something's running the place'.

Delicious food and drinks. The vibe is elevated and they have indoor or outdoor dining options. The breeze on the patio is nice to make it enjoyable year around.

The whole vibe of the place was very high end and fresh! The food and beverage menu was very unique and fun and to top off my experience my server, Eric, 5 stars all around! Definitely coming back!
