Yelp
A fantastic, no frills seafood offering in Orlando! This is 100% the best bang for your buck seafood restaurant to go to. Listen, seafood is not cheap, and if you hadn't noticed, Orlando is landlocked. But somehow, High Tide Harry's is able to churn out solid quality food, okay portion size, at a pretty low price! Have you ever been here on a Tuesday? You should. Or, check out the various deals that they run throughout the week.
Is everything on the menu good? No, but I wouldn't say anything was bad either. The standouts for me were the fried oysters, cajun dusted beer-battered french fries, and loaded potato skins (eh, less skin and more potato, they're super generous with the spud). The blackened red snapper was solid as well. Their white mac and cheese was also fairly good!
The corn, although fresh off the cob, was meh - maybe this would be better during corn season. Gumbo was only okay as well, it felt a bit overly salty, but I enjoyed the okra. The soft shell crab, although very cool that it was a whole crab, left a bit to be desired as a main. I also thought the hush puppies, complimentary to the table, was only okay, but I understand that's a personal preference as I don't enjoy hush puppies. Their home-made butter was great, and very similar to the Texas Roadhouse butter for their rolls - cinnamony yumminess!
Service is attentive and friendly, although a bit slow at times. Decor was loud nautical, so it fit the theme in a fun way.
Overall, I'm extremely excited to become a regular and to explore their menu to find the hidden gems. It's so hard to find an affordable but solid place to eat out nowadays (come on, in THIS economy?), but High Tide Harry's manages to keep it classy when it comes to the convergence between price and quality.
