Firefighter friend of mine and myself, someone who taught and trained firefighters showed up but the bartender kept ignoring us. Attended everyone else but us..until we got closer and closer until he didnt have a choice. We waited for about 20 min (which is fine because it seemed a bit busy) while we called him several times, not once did he ask for ANYONES ID but decided to ask for ours....tall long haired sir, something wrong with our skin not matching yours?

Yuppie gentrified bartenders that ignore you unless you're the right color. I came to this place on the weekend around 4pm. Everything was going great. My friend kept going up uto get drinks on my card. She was attended quickly. Once I was ready to close my tab I went up to the bar. I was standing waiting for these tall hipster to attend to me. Cool. I understand other ppl need to be serviced before me, but when the person that got to the bar before me, after she puts in her order, she gets asked again if she needed service by another yuppie hipster bartender. It took this lady to point out that I was there waiting. I really felt uneasy and unwanted at this place. If you're white I could see how this place would be 5 stars. But for a poc bring your white friends to order for you. So sad they gentrify our areas than treat us like second class citizens.

Highland Park Brewery is for me! This happening local York Blvd hub is one many love. Parking is local, street, ride-share, carpool and metro (LA Metro city style + LADOT DASH, a bit of a stroll from Highland Park Station). Their patio is spacious and fills up fast on weekends with great eats, even vendors nearby and that beer! Craft brew done beyond right with things like their: Barrel Aged Griffith Stout (great for fall & cooler months) Breaking Silence (Pilsner) Competition IPA Slick Wizard Hard Seltzer Timbo Pils Hello, LA IPA (a personal fave) And so many others both Highland Park official and guest brews. The wine selection is plentiful as well, not to mention their non-alcoholic beverages including Hoppy Water, Mexican sodas, De La Calle Tepache, Coffee and more. Foodies of all kinds can thrive with elevator brewery gastropub style eats including an incredible amount of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The fries with the vegan ranch are stellar, much like the tots, various snackables, salads, vegan spicy Italian sausage, burgers, wings (including cauliflower: Lemon Pepper, Sweet & Spicy or Old Bay seasoning are the way to go). Service is stellar, music is top notch and the vibes are truly all good things meets Highland Park. Clean restrooms and super pup friendly w/ items on their menu

We popped in here on a hot and sunny Sunday to eat pizza from around the corner while enjoying beers and bevies from the bar. The bartender was efficient and helpful. Love the communal feeling and the spacious outdoor area for families and friends to gather. Would absolutely come back especially to try one of the many other beers that caught my eye.

Hermosillo is here now. No longer Highland Park brewery. But still a great spot for drinks and food options. Chill atmosphere.

Highland Park Brewery is a great spot for craft beer lovers. Their selection is always rotating with creative, well-balanced brews--IPAs are especially good. The vibe is casual and welcoming, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food is solid for a brewery, though the main draw is definitely the beer. Service is friendly and the space works well whether you're hanging out with friends or just grabbing a pint.

I like the music they play here and they do not try to hard to be trendy for the masses!

I've visited the Highland Park Brewery on York Blvd several times, and each time, I'm reminded of just how much I love this place. I've been meaning to write a review for a while now, but I keep getting caught up in the experience. However, I can't wait any longer to share how great this spot really is! First and foremost, the food is incredible. Whether you're grabbing a bite with friends or enjoying a casual meal, you'll be impressed with the variety and quality of dishes they offer. Everything I've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, making it the ideal complement to the brewery's stellar selection of craft beers. Their ambiance is great.

Love this place. We bring a bunch of friends and kids here. The air conditioning could be better. But I sweat a lot. The beer is solid and we get food next door to eat in here. Fun!

Great spot for a date night or casual drinks with friends. They have some great selections and you get served pretty quickly. Check it out if you're in the area!

Final stop on my walking tour of DTLA before I head up to Chavez Ravine tonight to watch the Dodgers beat the Phillies. Been here before, but this time was the best, hanging around long enough to bounce between a Double-dry Hopped IPA and an Imperial Stout. Imma Professional. Hipsters galore, but it's aight because a month from now, I'll be in China, missing ironic mustaches and undersized clothing. Highland Park Brewery brings it, and just a hop, skip, and a jump from Dodger Stadium, how could I not?

Like other reviews say, it's a literal daycare. I love kids but they shouldn't be at a bar and the parents bringing them here should be ashamed, it looks so tacky trying to party in public with your toddlers running around. Also beware there's a recently pregnant woman who is there with her children sometimes (seen her twice) who will grill you for smoking *outside* the bar, not even in the vicinity (no smoking allowed which is fine). It's like she thinks she works there..? Idk, whole vibe is odd lol bartenders are chronically irritated usually, prob not going back anymore.

Beer (4/5 stars): We ordered the Festbier and Easy Fruit and preferred the Festbier. They were both crisp and refreshing! Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: standard price for a beer in LA * Wait Time: minimal wait on a Saturday night * Service: quick service -- you order at the bar * Parking: it wasn't too difficult to find street parking around here * Ambiance: it's a big, beautiful brewery with ample indoor and outdoor seating options. I loved the lighting and decorations outside.

This was a nice place to hang out and have a few beers. I wasn't that amazed with the beers but I think they had quite a lot of options. I really like how they have like open doors so it allows for sunset to shine inside.

This is the neighborhood watering hole with a nice dark indoor setting plus a large outdoor patio with plenty of room to spread out. We came by on a typical busy Friday night but there was still room to relax and hangout in the back patio. They offer a great selection of beer and my favorite being the IPAs were just perfect.

Great brewery to hang out with your friends. Both indoor and outdoor seating- for a larger group they have a large table inside on the left of the register. They had a wonderful selection of beer and bar foods. Recommend the wings, fries, and the dang brussel sprouts !!! So good. Parking is a bit tough when it gets busy.

Highland Park Brewery is a gem. Located close to various parks, Union station, and the Dodgers Stadium, it is the home of the Dodgers. They have a great dog-friendly patio and a wide variety of beers! Lots of IPAs (California is in their IPA phase), some sours, and some lighter blondes and even seltzers. I have not gotten to try their food yet, but it looks good! Ordering is done at the bar. Service-wise, it's a toss up. The first time I went, it was late, they were busy, and the bartender was kind of harsh. The second time I went, it was the middle of the day, and the bartender was incredibly kind and friendly!

Lovely extended patio area with nice beer and a surprisingly delicious burger. Their HPB Burger (10) is delicious. It's a smash style burger that's perfectly seasoned and textured. The cheese is fried and savory and the spicy ketchup goes well with it. There was some thought that went into this burger that I appreciate especially since breweries can get away with lazy patties and buns. My general philosophy is that $10 burgers should always come with a side. That would have made this meal perfect for taste and value. Parking is easy and staff is friendly. Great spot for those checking out LA Historic Park and crave a beer across the street.

TOO MANY PARENTS BRINGING THIER NEWBORNS AND TODDLERS. When did it become normalized to bring your kids to breweries? It felt like a preschool sitting in the outside area. Kids running around with their scooters and bikes while parents are busy drinking and not watching their kids. Random kids on the floor walkways playing with toys while there parents are drunk. Kids almost running into the street. This pace needs to regulate this issue. Kids even run inside the bar because their parents are busy drinking. Weekends are always full of parents and kids in excess.

Nice place to chill and drink if you can get served. I came here with a buddy to grab lunch randomly during the week. We asked for menus after ordering our beer but they never came. It took the lady 15 min just to bring us our beers. Besides one other guy we were the only people here. She apparently got stuck on an important phone call she explained when she finally brought us our beers. Well I guess at least she's honest. Also this place is not the actual brewery. Apparently the actual brewery is in Chinatown. Came here to try their beer called Hello LA and they didn't have it. Needless to say my buddy and I finished our beers and went elsewhere. I gave this place 3 stars because it has a nice open outside patio area that could be great for a weekend day. Maybe we just came at the wrong time and got the wrong bartender.

Recently moved from Boston so I decided to look for some breweries in the area with good New England style IPA. Maybe I'm just spoiled from all the amazing beers like Trillium and Tree House but IPAs here definitely lacked the depth and flavor of true New England beers. But that's just me being spoiled from tasting amazing beers so frequently. Objectively speaking, their IPAs are not bad. Definitely above average and much better than what you normally find in stores. I think this place has a lot of potential if they can level up their IPA game a bit more and try to perfect it like Trillium and/or Tree House.

Great local bar in highland park. They have a cozy interior and an expansive patio area that is dog friendly. Good service overall, and all the bartenders are good people. The food is solid, their fried pickles always hit the spot but the Oklahoma Burger is great as well.

Good spot but I ordered fried pickles and got fried jalapeños along with it . Majority of it was jalapeños. I'm sensitive to jalapeños. The menu doesn't show jalapeños with the fried pickles.

The whole set up here is really kind of weird and just a bit confusing. Highland Park uses a bar to sell their beers. A place called The Hermosillo sells their beer and the bartenders work for The Hermosillo. The only person that said they worked for HPB was the guy that fills the growlers, and there wasn't much to choose from, so he just stood there and wiped the dust off the growlers. There wasn't much else for him to do, as there was no good beer (IMO) available to fill. The beer selection was not good when I visited. No Ultra Cloud on tap or any juicy IPA worth while for that matter. This place is ultra hard to get to and the parking is a complete nightmare. Tiny little parking spots. Maybe they should call their next beer "Ultra Hard Parking Mess". If you have a half way decent car, you wouldn't want to drive it here, because when you return it will probably be door dinged to death. I tried Space Embracer and was very underwhelmed. I was hungry so I decided to order the pork belly tacos . The pork was shredded and not pieces of pork belly like the menu stated. The pork was also on the dry side. I was very hungry, otherwise I would have sent them back and got something else. The tacos were a dry version of carnitas. Not sure I will be back this way again, can release or no can release. I will just stick with Mumford and Monkish.

Great little hangout spot to catch the sun, a nice cold beer and a good bite.

They always have great beers and varieties on tap. I like that you can get a smaller size 5oz to try so you can drink a few different brews and not leave bloated or feeling buyers remorse for downing full on pints of beer. Since they don't do flights, the smaller pours are a good option. The food is good too but I'd rather go across the street to the Greyhound.

After a few drinks and some bowling at Highland Park Bowl, we decided to come check this place out as it was nearby. I was happy to see that they have a private lot - although small but sufficient. Atmosphere and environment is typical for a brewery - a bit loud and with music. I don't think they have TVs and as far as I know they didn't offer board games as other breweries I've been to. I was really excited to try their beers and I saw some flights on Yelp. I saw $3 per taster on their menu so I was just going to get 4-5 of those and call it a day. Unfortunately, I was turned down and they told me they could only do 2 $3 tasters max which didn't make sense to me. I was pretty disappointed that I wasn't able to sample more of their beers so I ended up just buying 1 pint - Saison 100. It was okay.

Once upon a time there was a bar called the Hermosillo. Then the owners decided to let a brewmaster with experiences at both Father's Office and Craftsman Brewery open up a brewery in a 480-square-foot room at the back of the building. And the rest is happily-ever-after history. In case you didn't follow me there, Highland Park Brewery is located INSIDE the Hermosillo. I'm not religious, but you can think of the Hermosillo as God and the Highland Park Brewery as Jesus. They are one in the same. And by the way, there sure are a lot of "holy spirits" flowing around this place... spirits as in beer! So, after much deliberation, I decided to write my review for the Highland Park Brewery rather than Hermosillo, since many of the reviews for the Hermosillo were before the brewery set up shop in the summer of 2014. In terms of beer, Highland Park Brewery keeps everything chill. You won't be finding overly hoppy beers here or pretentious club members-only beers. Moreover, their beers are more laid-back and have relatively low alcohol by volume (ABV) contents that hover around the 5 to 7% range. Among the beers that I always get is this really refreshing beer called pFriem Spaceship (4.5%), a pale ale with German Huell melon hops. The melon hops really do give off a honeydew flavor and this beer pairs amazingly well with the shishito peppers ($6) served by the Hermosillo's kitchen. Seriously, these shishito peppers served with lemongrass, ginger, and crushed peanuts are the tastiest I have ever had. Dare I say it? They are the shi-shit! Another beer that I found to be nice was the Ham Porter (5.3%), a porter made with a whole freaking ham. Sorry my vegetarian friends, but this beer is not for you. Despite being made with a whole ham, the beer is not overly smoky or hammy. Definitely unique. Highland Park Brewery's beers are always rotating due to their small brewing capacity, yet on any given night they have up to ten of their beers on tap along with six guest taps. Also, what's really cool is that their beer menu is displayed on a screen with a screen projector and when a beer runs out, they cover it up with paper. Very old-school, yet too cool for school! When I first saw the screen projector, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia and had a flashback to my high school geometry class and reminisced about cosines and tangents - shit I have yet to apply in the real world. Definitely check out Highland Park Brewery inside the Hermosillo because the beers are chilled and the atmosphere is chill. Moreover, going back to the whole "God-theme", you may see a few patrons here and there that actually look like Jesus with their hipster beards. * Want to give some mad props to Julie, the awesome beertender with the cool tattoos that made the experience even better. ** There is a metered parking lot around the corner along North Avenue 51 north of York Boulevard.

Located inside of the Hermosillo. Not really a stand alone brewery, more of a restaurant that serves Highland Park beer. The only sign that shows the brewery is on the side of the building. Small private parking lot. Very busy in the afternoon on a Saturday. Service was good. They have a full food menu. They have awesome brewery logo. Tasters - $3 - Each are 5 oz pours. I tried the Neon and Bonkers. Both are IPA. Bonkers was really good, did not enjoy Neon as much. Refresh - $6 - Very light beer but had good flavor.

Parking: loads of street parking but you may have to walk a block or two. I love how open this brewery is and the space is very large. Currently, it's not in a crowded location which makes it nice and secluded. The menu looks very decent, I didn't eat but just got a few beers. Highly recommend this place.

4-14-19/Sunday Funday! So this spot is The Hermosillo that serves Highland Park Brewery craft beer not the actual Highland Park Brewery. We got bamboozled! It was kinda busy we sat at the bar. It's so dark in there!!! A projector on the wall lists the selection of beer. I got refreshed that was way too bitter but Hello LA was good. The beer was not super cold so it was room temperature pretty quick. They had the Ring & Hook game which was cool! And shuffleboard. Music was wired, bartender was nice. This was a one & done spot.

Great place for meeting friends and drinking good beer, their menu is very small but it's well executed, I tried the fried pickles and the smashed burger, really good for pairing with beer.

Super chill place to grab a drink. Beer is quite good (coming from someone who isn't a fan). Love the vibe here.

Stopped in for 1 beer on a Wednesday evening. Plenty of street parking which is a huge plus! We liked the vibe and enjoyed our beers! We would love to come back to try a few more. Liked this spot and will be back. If you want a chill spot with good beers that is not overcrowded this might be the winner!

Awesome place to hangout outside & drink great beer! Felt very Covid-safe, loved the lighting and ambiance and most importantly- loved the beer and their fried chicken sandwich with crinkle fries! Highly recommend the Food Fight beer.

What cool dive bar !! The drinks were really good and the setting was really cool. The have shuffle board and this game where there is a little ting on a string and you have to get it on this hook.

Very awesome place with great beer! Shares a building with Hermosillo, but didn't take away from the experience. Ordered the IPA, pale ale, hazy IPA and enjoyed them all thoroughly. HPB makes awesome beer and its not surprising they opened a second location in Chinatown. Brewery is also surrounded by a lot of cool bars, shops and interesting people. Will definitely come back very soon!

My husband has always has a disdain for this place, but I'd drag him there because I liked the food. I guess some of the beers are "okay", but it was more of a place where people wanted to go and we'd meet them. Today, I went in for a drink and asked to taste one of the newer offerings. The tall bartender was already saying that he didn't "give a shit" about anything today. I could relate with him, cuz its that kind of day: "Solidarity, friend!". But then he told me that he was charging me for a sample and asked if I still wanted it. I said "sure" but questioned my decision since I was only keen on about 50% of their beers ... but then my friend was like, "fuck that". Tall bartender then started giving her shit about "cursing" at him. He was being a dick, so we left. Husband has spider senses. The end.

Neat Brewery Located not too far off the 2 FWY. Stopped by on our way home from Santa Monica. Loved the space and the beer selection! Pricing was fair and they have food too! We'll be back that's for sure!

I love this bar ! Always has a great selection of any beer style you want! I love all the delicious IPA s I highly recommend! All the bartenders are really awesome and work hard to make sure your taken care of!

I feel like it's a cool brewery and good beer just feel like the are over priced on there beer they had a sour beer which was good it was $34 for a four pack and it was not worth paying that much

YES, FINALLY YES! I loved it. I tried 8 of the 10 or 12 beers they had on opening day. This is a real brewery. Not a gimmicky spot. The beers are subtle, clean, yet still maintain there own identity. It is attached to the Hermosillo, which makes it even cooler. I have been waiting a long time for Highland Park to have its own brewery. I am so glad it is finally here.

A lot of breweries loosely use the term "hazy" to describe certain IPAs nowadays, but not HPB. HPB had four really good hazy IPAs on draft. These IPAs were cloudy and fruit forward, yet slightly hoppy. I really enjoyed the Good Smooth and Hot Start. If and when you get lucky enough to find parking, head inside the Hermosillo to locate the brewery. There's a decent amount of seating, but expect to stand in a quick-moving line to order your beer selections at the bar. The food is also pretty good.

Me: Umm are you sure this is it? The sign says The Hermosillo The bf: Yep, this is it. This sums up what happened when we hopped out of the Uber that delivered us to Highland Park Brewery. We walked in and that's when I realized we were walking into Highland Park Brewery and kinda The Hermosillo. We went on a Saturday during Oktoberfest and we were able to get a couple seats at the bar. We were immediately helped, which was amazing because I hate going to bars and just sitting there like some kinda creeper waiting for service. Ugh. I started with the HPB Oktoberfest and it was bomb! Definitely nice and malty and true to the marzen style. The next beer I ordered was the Yard Beer #1. This was a farmhouse style beer which definitely was herb-y. It was nice and earthy. Basically, it was delicious. They also have guest beers if you want to try other stuff. After what I tried, I'd stay with HPB.

First off, there's parking on the side so I'd check the lot before looking or paying for street parking. Highland Park Brewery has a wide selection of their beers on-tap along with some small bites to tide you over. First off, the beer. Great brewery with lots of good beers on their taplist. I wish they had a higher production as some of their items sell out so fast. Come and try all their beers and find what you like, you won't be disappointed. The food is decent but not great. What I had: Banh Mi Sliders - (4/5) I thought these were pretty good. Pork had a lot of flavor and the pickled jalapeños were a good touch. My friend thought they were a little salty but I was okay with it. I thought the sweet rolls they were served on balanced nicely with the saltiness. Curry - (3/5) Rich in the coconut milk. This is a very thick curry that needed salt and additional complexity. Good at first, half way through we were sick of the one note flavor profile and were just eating to finish. Fried Chicken Sandwich - (3.5/5) Super crispy which was a huge plus. Potato chips that come with the burger are dismissible. The sandwich wasn't bad but it didn't blow me away. I would order again to satiate hunger but not due to a longing desire. In the end, this place has a cool ambiance, shuffle board and ring hook and awesome beers so I suggest you come and indulge.

Okay, so I've been on a Craft Beer binge lately. Refresh - Very light. Definitely more of a summer drink. Ham Porter Stout (seasonal) - highly recommend for you stout lovers out there. The savory aroma of smokey ham is a great compliment to this full bodied drink. As a light drinker, I now know just to order the tasters rather than a whole pint. And they will serve individual taster rather than a whole flight. Awesome. Atmosphere was chill. Definitely hipster-ish. Went on a Sunday and they had 90s slow jam music busting. Some baby music blaring while drinking a nice stout, great way to end the weekend. Parking: Street and private lot in back

I came here this past weekend for the first time and was not impressed. I love sour beers and this place only had two choices for sours which weren't the best. I even tried a lager which I was not impressed with. Most of their selection are IPAs. The beers are overpriced as most of them are $7 or $8 for an 8oz. The customer service is not the best and the staff seemed bothered when you would ask for another beer. I definitely will not be back here as I've been to many other breweries with better customer service, more beer selection, and better pricing. The only reason for the 2 stars is that they play very upbeat music that is enjoyable, other than that, it was not memorable.

Good times! Inside The Hermisillo is Highland Park Brewery which they brew their beers onsite. Had a lovely time with new friends I met that afternoon also doing a craft beer tour of the area. I recommend ordering a flight to get a taste of each of their beers. They serve food here so that's a major plus if you're taking a craft beer tour or, you can do a taco crawl just outside with all the taco trucks on this street. Don't forget to grab a gourmet donut at Donut Friend nearby!

DO NOT.. I repeat, DO NOT GET THE "Crispy Chicken Sandwich"!!! It was probably the worst tasting chicken sandwich I've ever had! It tasted like they boiled the chicken breast and then coated it and kinda fried it and then used a watery mayo on the bread. I haven't tasted McDonald's chicken sandwich but I'd bet money it's much better than this.

Came into this place with my fella because we love craft beer and had a great time! He ordered a flight (you can try four different beers) and I got a pint of their Oktoberfest. Very tasty! Their food menu looks great, but we didn't have anything to eat. Guy behind the bar could've been a little friendlier, but it's all good. The place has a great atmosphere. Their beer menu is projected (literally) onto the wall by an old school projector. Took me back to my school days! We will definitely be back!
