The Diwali celebration at Hill Country Galleria Central Plaza was absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere was vibrant and full of energy. There were a variety of stalls offering beautiful Indian wear, exquisite jewelry, delicious food, and intricate henna designs. It really brought the spirit of Diwali to life here in Austin. The music and dance performances were a highlight, with traditional and contemporary numbers that kept the crowd engaged and entertained. It was heartwarming to see the community come together for this festival of lights. Definitely a must-visit event if you want to experience

Family had a blast everyone first time ice skating, they had plenty of seats to rest after or just to watch. Yes shoping center has restrooms. The restrooms are next to athletic wear

The Hill Country Galleria is one of the newer shopping areas in the Austin area. It is all outdoors and has a few anchor stores, including Whole Foods. It feels very suburban, which I suppose it is, and has the most energy in the evenings and sometimes on Saturday. On Sundays, the place feels very sleepy and is not that much fun to go to.

Had an awesome time with the family to kink off the holiday season (live music)!Would highly recommend their yearly ice skating rink⛸️; we had a blast! Plenty of parking 🅿️ Nice shopping area Library Plenty of restaurants to try Whole Foods

Overall we are happy with the Galleria and have had good experiences. This review is specifically for the ice rink. We tried the Bee Cave Ice Rink for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We preordered tickets a few weeks in advance but that didn't really seem necessary, as people were buying tickets at the door. They had skates small enough for my youngest (5 years old) which was great. They have a few benches to sit on to change into the skates, and cubbies for shoes, but I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my purse in an open cubby. I was disappointed with how melted the actual ice was. There were dirty puddles of water all around the edges and corners of the rink. If you were to fall not only did you get a little wet, but you got soaked. This is not normal out of any ice rink I have visited. I also think they need a few more of the skate helpers for little ones to hold onto. We had to wait in a separate line until one became available, not knowing how long it would take, and that cut into our skate time.

I love this space! Good mix of shops. I spent time at the library working and enjoyed taking a break in the square. There’s lawn chairs and table to have lunch or meet friends or do business and a big grass area for kids. Many unique restaurants.

Great spot, just not really the stores I would frequent. Extremely convenient and tons of parking which was nice.

Google
Nice shipping complex located next to Bee Cave. Barnes &Nobles, Cinemark, Cafe and lot other outlets are situated inside the mall. Ample parking space is available inside the mall. Holidays lightings are lit every year and is an attraction to this place. #HappyShopping

Yelp
I really like this outdoor strip mall. There a lot of nice restaurants and cafes around with different cuisines. I also appreciate that Hill Country Galleria also organizes multicultural themed events during festivals, catering to folks who live in the Bee Cave/South Austin area. The holiday season decor and lights in December was beautiful and one of my favorites in the Austin area. They also had other activities during the month including an ice rink and free pictures with Santa in his workshop!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Great quality and the staff was nice. I went in today to try on a new size and they insisted I left the clothes I was buying from the dressing room at the register. When u went to checkout not only I asked if they charged me for the things I set aside, the clerk said yes. I come home to check my bag and they only checked out 3 of the 6 items I was trying to buy and one I didn't even check out. I love the company but would go to a different location for quality service.

Yelp
Very nice Simon Property Group-owned outdoor mall. A great selection, with lot of mid to higher end stores, as well as local boutiques and restaurants. They offer tons of evening and weekend events like farmers markets, ice skating in the winter and concerts or musicals in the summer. A majority of the official city buildings are also in the mall. From a consumer standpoint, it appears that they have a good working relationship and it's well-run and well-cared for.

Yelp
Nice outdoor mall with an assortment of small business and national chains. Several dining options as well and a movie theater. When the weather is nice, it's great to scroll the sidewalks, pop into a boutique or two, grab a scoop for a sweet treat, get your smells at B&BW, buy eco-friendly clothing from H&M, or even check out the Bee Cave library if you want. It's been really sad to see some fav stores close over the years (inc pre-Covid), but new ones open in their place. There actually is a lot of nice variety. HCG is especially delightful during the holiday season imo. Huge tree, music, ice rink, winter market, pics with Santa...you name it. One word of caution though...good luck trying to find a place to park your sleigh. Really! Hence, minus 1 star. Have fun!

Yelp
Love that we have this here in Bee Cave. I think the Whole Foods there is well stocked and one of the best ones in the area, so I'm grateful for that since that's the one we grocery shop from. My wife and kids love feeding the ducks at the pond. They have a sweet little farmer's market on Sundays and we've attended a few events and concerts the galleria has put together and they were quite fun!
google avatar

LaRon E.

Yelp
It's a nice spot if you're from that side of town, it has its fair share of ok restaurants and entertainment, to me it seems that it wants to be the next Domain without the high end retailers and restaurants.
google avatar

Brad H.

Yelp
This is an outdoor mall and it is a good place to shop for sure. Not as many stores as your average indoor mall but it's clean. It seems this mall draws in the wealthy crowd as well, so if you like nice cars and performance cars there's a good chance you'll see one or two here while you're shopping.. But sure, if you don't mind being in the outdoors this is a great place to shop!

Yelp
Lots to do and a nice drive through Hill Country! Good Saturday venturing with a friend or exploring alone.

Yelp
Beautiful open air setting. Not your typical mall. Individual stores to walk to. Great in the cooler times of the year. Beautiful landscape. Beautiful hill country. Nice ponds with ducks that you and the kids can feed for entertainment. Even a movie theater. Lots of great restaurants shopping all around plenty of parking

Yelp
Love the Hill Country Galleria my favorite place to shop only negative is parking can be a nightmare you have to go round and round hunting for a spot. So if you are up this way remember on weekends is zero parking and you have to parking a mile away. Handicap spaces are always used my husband is handicapped and we never find a spot to park so I have to drop him off and off I go looking for a spot...................shopping here is fantastic other than that. They have Planet Yogert amazing place to sit and eat a cone with delicious.

Yelp
People say they don't understand why malls are failing. Go to Dillards. The you will understand. I was in the men's suit department for literally 20 minutes. I saw a sales person on the other side of the floor at a different dept. I mentioned my wait and she replied that she worked in men's suits. And she just got back from lunch. She really acted surly and argumentative. I reluctantly went back to the suit department and in 5 minutes she explained to me that someone had purchased all of the suits in my size. The ones that were on sale. Waste of time and effort. Lousy service, bad attitude and general DGAF attitude made for a bad experience. I tried.

Yelp
This had always been one of my favorite movie theaters, very clean, great area and good customer service. They were open on Thanksgiving Day, I enjoyed a movie with My Dad and friend after an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
These area features a small village of over priced retail stores and small restaurants. The area is nice but this is totally a part of town filled with stuck up unfriendly snobs who act like they are better than you. Definitely not a friendly area for people of color. Also, there are way too many people NOT wearing mask INSIDE and around the stores. The people who wearing masks all seem to have a smirk on their faces like were a joke with ours on. This shopping strip is cute for a photo opp for social media, but definitely not worth the drive if your looking to do some really shopping in a mall set up. Stay in austin and check out the retail centers closer to the city.

Yelp
I fully ented to hate the Hill Country Galleria when its growth forced out my beloved Backyard. But, it has grown on me over the years and now I go just to take my dog for a walk and people watch. I love that the center is anchored by City Hall and a Library - that to me just makes it so dang small town charming. I love the amphitheater with the dancing water fountain and the river built into it with plenty of tables and chairs for catching up with a friend or just people watching. And what I love about HCG the most is that pretty much every single shop is Dog Friendly. So, when I need to do some shopping and have the Pup with me I do not have to drive all the way home to drop her off and that makes us both happy!

Yelp
kinda far from where I live.. RR ... but we had just left the 24hr fitness/arboretum area and were taking a cruise. I loved the area.. felt almost like I was bk in California. I was all sweaty post workout but just came to ck it out. We saw the Dillards, Barnes & Noble. etc. . itw as super cute. nxt time I'd stop and go to Blkwhite market clothing store..but there is the outlet here and even at the "outlet" everything is $99...even on sale. . um. . hmm. same price at the actual store. so .. anyway I'd come bk ..showered and ready to shop. Very clean and felt like Temecula, CA seriously. All they are missing is a Yard House and a few breweries.

Yelp
It was a beautiful summer day so my family and I decided to visit the Bee Caves area and the Hill Country Galleria! We stayed at the Sonesta Austin a beautiful minimalistic hotel right next to the Galleria and love the rooms and the proximity to the shops! They even have a shuttle that will drop you off wherever you want to go at the shops. This is a shoppers paradise! Nicely laid out in a beautiful way and you feel so relaxed and peaceful. Plenty of great places to eat with great service! A great day trip out of Sugar Land. I feel like I want to buy a condo up here or investment property as its so beautiful in this area! The Sonesta which is brand new is a nice place to stay! I feel so rested...
google avatar

Ruth A.

Yelp
They really need to add more shops most of the stores here are smaller boutique "Very Boojie " stores. I do like the Dillard's because its always clean and not crowded.
google avatar

Vanessa M.

Yelp
This place has some of the best restaurants and adorable boutiques. Plus you can catch a movie or head to the Book Store . They even have a splash pad for the kiddos. Cycle Classes and an HM and Dillard's. I personally like the little boutiques and Tony Cs Happy hour or Tadashi Sushi so good!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Great shopping! Don't come here during the summer time though. You'll be drenched in sweat by the end of your visit.

Kristi M.

Yelp
Such a great place. I wish they would get and keep good stores. Everything seems to leave because of rent prices. This place has the potential to be a great spot. They just need to get their crap together.
google avatar

Azul P.

Yelp
So many empty store fronts...it's hard to hide. This is owned by the Teachers' Retirement Fund of California so maybe there is no incentive to keep it leased. They raise tenants rates, they move out and years later there are still empty spaces. Not that I'm against mom and pop stores and hokey whatever plugged in to hide the empty spaces...the complete oppossite of the Domain.
google avatar

Robin C.

Yelp
When I drove into the parking lot, I made the assumption that this was The Domain 2, based on the similar architectural style & design. However, where the shops at The Domain err on the snooty Rodeo Drive side, the Hill Country Galleria has all of the stores you'd find at Barton Creek Mall and none (that I saw) of The Domain's typical retailers. I love the concept of getting out and walking outdoors between stores...unlike other outdoor mall areas like that mess down on Brodie in Sunset Valley, the parking layout of The Domain and HCG encourage walking store to store rather than moving your car from one parking area to the next. There's a great space here with a pergola and lots of patio tables/chairs where you can eat outdoors while enjoying the view and peoplewatching (not always mutually exclusive). Bee Caves' City Hall is also located in this development, as well as their library. That seemed charmingly old-school to me...very endearing. Another cool thing about the setting/location is that even when the weather turns stifling hot in these parts, the gusty winds that whip through the hills should keep you comfortable while you're walking around. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Greg D. wrote this: "No one here was ever able to tell us how Bee Cave got it's name, but everyone is friendly." "Bee Cave"---Take a wild friggin guess... I live in the area and this mall was a boondoggle from the get go. The original developers and brokers made all the fee money then filed BK. The mall is ill conceived and most likely 5 years ahead of its time...if the time ever shows up. Even the recent purchase by the new owner for 75 million won't help this place. The mall is in a VOID. People from the East off Bee Cave Road won't come and the Lakeway people are too cheap to come so there is the void. People drive through this area...they dont stop. I agree that the stores are very pedestrian; the ones that are still left. I have talked to many store owners and managers and the buzz is that these stores do less than 50% of what the same stores do in other locations in Austin. There are so many empty spaces you lose count. There are whole buildings still empty along with all of the empty second floor office space. The place is literally a ghost town from 5 pm on during the week. Not a soul. The best restaurant is Mimi's Cafe....Enough said.
google avatar

Fernando C.

Yelp
I love it so much this place that we actually moved into the area close so we can have all the amenities that a shopping center can offer. My wife and I loves to be able to wake up walk the dog on a clean area with no disturbances, that's what we found at the Galleria, in the other hand, in the shopping section I found stores and restaurants that only Galleria have in Austin. A very nice place to spend your day.
google avatar

Errica W.

Yelp
I've only lived in Austin for a year but one of the first comforts my boyfriend and I found that made us feel like home (San Diego) was coming to the Galleria! We were on a desperate search for a Jersey Mikes in the area and low and behold the Galleria delivered that and so much more. Now, a year later, we come here for just about anything; like the always anticipated Wine Walk, Amy's Ice Cream or Iron Cactus. It's so nice to have conveniences close by, with guaranteed friendly employees and little crowds. My job recently opened a new location in the Galleria, and I couldn't be happier to now call a favorite stomping ground home 5 days a week. Keep it up Galleria--we're happy to be here!

Yelp
The whole disaster at Little Barton Creek has grown on me. While the layout of the HCG is a bit extended, and easy parking is up a hill and behind everything, it is a decent addition to western Travis County living. A Dillard's, movie theatre, liquor store, and a few clothing places make it an easy trip if you have some basic needs. None of these places (other than the Twin Liquors) are huge stores with massive selection, which is slightly disappointing. What is immensely disappointing is the poor selection of eating there. Zingers is garbage, and Iron Cactus makes Zingers look appealling. Mimi's Cafe is barely capable. I'd like to see some decent restaurants come in and make this place more worth going to. How about a real bar? The expected addition of Whole Foods will be greatly welcome, but $5 says the traffic to get in and out of that store (it's going to be at the jacked up intersection next to Dick's) will be on par with the horrid parking situation at the other two Whole Foods in town.
google avatar

Dei S.

Yelp
I love this shopping center! It's funny that no matter what time of year, it's always cold when I visit! :) This is a beautiful shopping center with very friendly people/salespeople all over the place. Also, their "farmers' market" is more amenable to people like me who don't go to those events at 5 a.m.! The movie theater is great too! I love the art gallery too!
google avatar

Ann D.

Yelp
Hill Country Galleria is a really odd place. It's a yuppie haven, and the area surrounding it is starting to fill up with million dollar homes. The mall itself is filled with pricey stores and chain restaurants, and isn't an "Ann" kind of place. So why was I here yesterday? Good question. I didn't go for the overpriced shopping, I went for the music! They have a sweet little amphitheater in the center of the mall, where they have free concerts. Last night Matt the Electrician and Steve Poltz played to an odd mix of yuppies, breeders and a handful of cool folks. Once the sun goes down, you can almost forget that you're surrounded by shops and just feel like you're in a nice park somewhere listening to some rad music. So, no on the mall, but yes! on the amphitheater and the free shows.
google avatar

Davis W.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for all of my puppy needs. I felt appreciated the first time I walked through the door. I haven't stopped going since. Daff is always so kind and actually listens to my dribble. The customer service is phenomenal. They will not try to sell you anything you don't need. Daff remembered my name and details of my new puppies after the first visit. I can't say the same for another place in town. The knowledge and expertise is unsurpassable. I was out of state, and my babies were about to run out of puppy food. I ordered online, and Daff delivered to my front door a day earlier than expected! My 5 month old pit/lab puppies love the puppy food and are thriving. More people need to shop here, so we can make sure this place never closes.
google avatar

Cody B.

Yelp
I spend a lot of time here each week. Movies, coffee shops, breakfast lunch and dinner options, barnes and noble, dicks sporting goods, golds gym etc, etc. My favorite is Bee Cave Coffee. Live music and events here often on the weekends and/or holidays. I hear many dog lovers rave about the Galleria because it's pet friendly. Some of the shops even have bowls of water at the door. There is a trail for walking and biking that is pet friendly as well.
google avatar

Brittany P.

Yelp
Love the galleria! Great shopping, great food, and fun family friendly events. We took our kids to trick or treat at the stores for Halloween which they totally loved! We got to see Santa Clause plus some fireworks, dancers, live music (which included Plain White T's!) all for free in December. They do snow days in December too which is super cool for us Texans who don't get a snowy winter! This place is great for shopping, eating, and family fun! They have some really cool stores and salons too! All the upcoming events can be found on their website!
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Is this place ever busy? I've only been on weeknights. When we walk into ANY store, the salespeople pounce on us in desperation. It's like they haven't seen another living being in years. And then they hover. And I hate the parking. Nobody is around, but all the spaces are full! And that parking garage way up the hill is annoying walking up and down to it. Just seems like a poor design. No steps? But there are some nice stores (for my wife mostly). And probably the best movie theater in the area. And there's a Barnes and Noble. I'll be trying Tony C's Pizza one day soon.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Hill Country Galleria. 4th of July and they didn't fix their elevator for all of the parents with strollers and the handicap in their parking garage. To make matters worse, they failed to put up a sign that it was broken leaving many families waiting for extended periods of time.
google avatar

Tatum L.

Yelp
Lots of great shops and the restaurants there are good but pricey. Parking is often an annoyance here because of the various meters and limited supply of parking spots.
google avatar

Jason A.

Yelp
We really enjoy the outdoor shopping mall. It is a great addition to the area. Jason Atchley, Consultant
google avatar

Lora T.

Yelp
Meh. The aesthetics are appealing, but the store content is average. There is nothing there that I can't get closer in town so I doubt I'll be making a trip out there again, but at least it is a good option for people who live further out west of Austin.
google avatar

Christi H.

Yelp
What the heck happened?? The last several years I have come back to Austin for a girls weekend and I have always gone to the customer service store at the mall to get gift cards for the goodie baskets that I do. I was just there and no customer service! No customer service place and the people that I talked to at the office were bleh! What a shame! Before, I would go in and one of the lovely ladies would sell me my cards, plus tell me about all of the good places to eat and shop in the area. It seems that they were bought out or something....too bad the new owners did not purchase the 'customer service' to go along with the buildings....

Author BrendaWinters W.

Yelp
Low crime rate--only one carjacking in its history and one bad attack early one dark morning where a man attacked a young woman who was alone. That means this place is good. Doctor David Gabriele is great-his office is in this area. Dillard's has new leather purses and shoes like half price at times--beautiful and Sperry shoes and many other good brands. Beautiful clothing--Estee Lauder and Clinique make up back by research that is good for your skin.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
I love shopping at The Hill Country Galleria. The outdoor spaces are very nice and there is a great selection of stores, from small boutiques to Dillards. There is also a good selection of restaurants; I recommend sushi at Tadashi and the mouthwatering burgers at All Star Burger. The mall is never overcrowded and makes for a relaxing and pleasant outing. Highly recommended!

Kate H.

Yelp
If you're wildly famished and ready to devour some tasteless chain restaurant food, then please do stop in. Otherwise there's not a hope for the culinarily discerning in this veritable food desert. Keep driving. Austin's not that far. You'll thank me later.
google avatar

Yelp
Ever since moving here in 2009, the Hill Country Galleria has been my go-to mall. I love that I can go to the library or walk to Bee Cave Coffee Co. (the best lattes) or do some damage to the credit card via Dillard's, Fabrik, Loft, Eddie Bauer, the Great Gatsby and Victoria's Secret to name a few. Did I mention I get my hair done at Tony & Guy there? It took me a long time to find a colorist that I trust; all of the stylists there are top notch. If you want to take in a movie, we have the Cinemark Theaters which are clean and usually movies are never sold out. The food choices at the HCG are also wonderful-there's a new Chili's there that is easy and also very clean, a Mimi's Cafe, Cafe Blue, Tony C's Pizza, All Star Burger, Buenos Aires Cafe, an Iron Cactus, Chisos Grill, and for dessert choose from Amy's Ice Cream, the Candy Jar (!), or Yogurt Planet. Man, so many choices, we are dining there and shopping there at least three to four times a week. The summer brings a Saturday night concert series in the center courtyard as well as other fun events throughout the year. Fourth of July, Christmas, car shows, just to name a few. Did I mention the Wine Walk? Fantastic. Thank heaven someone has decided to open a boutique hotel in our neighborhood. This month the new Sonesta Hotel has just opened and it looks great. Contemporary, swanky, and they have a cool trolley car that will take you around the mall, or just go for a leisurely stroll through the shops. Thank you, Hill Country Galleria! I don't know what I'd do without you! 5 stars!
google avatar

Robert N.

Yelp
Really a cute mall, but the stores lack the depth of the larger malls....if you are in the area its worth a stop. Having said that, the Whole Foods there recently opened and it is a great little store with a dining area upstairs.
google avatar

Tracy R.

Yelp
The Hill Country Galleria has a lot to offer! Our family spends a lot of time there for dining (and dessert at Amy's Ice Cream), movies, shopping with friends, checking out books from the library, enjoying outdoor concerts, and jogging with the dog! There is something for everyone!
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
LOTS OF SHOPS of all kinds, fun to stroll around outdoors and pick and choose where to go. Tons of restaurants; many outlined more thoroughly in The Concierge book available to you at The Cabin Retreat!
google avatar

Meagan T.

Yelp
It is nice for area, needs more large trees for parking in shade. The stores are cooperate, nothing that unique. Other than that it is nice. Love Whole foods!
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
Beautifully designed for a full day! If I have an early doctor appointment in the business center - I plan to enjoy coffee, walk, catch a movie at the cinema, shop Dick's Sporting Good's, grab a bite at Cafe Bleu or Tadashi and grocery shop at Whole Foods before I head home. A great mix of businesses, shops and restaurants.

Yelp
It pains me to say this, but I actually sort of like this place. There is a very Disney-fied sensibility, but if you can get past that, it's not so bad. They seem to be going for a neighborhood feel and almost trick you if you're not paying attention, but then the parking lots behind the shops kill that vibe the second you leave the main streets. What freaks me out is that the Bee Cave City Hall is right there in the galleria, as is the city library, which adds to the illusion that this quaint little district somehow grew up organically, and all the buildings just happened to have the same architects, materials and color schemes. There are fancy apartments just behind the shops too, so in theory, one could live there, work at the galleria, buy groceries across the street, visit the doctor a few blocks away - and go several years without leaving a two mile radius of this shopping center. Spooky. The shops themselves are standard middle class/leaning toward vaguely fancy-ish (White House/Black Market, Amy's, Milk + Honey spa, etc.) mall fare, but it's nice to have it all presented in a walkable format. We went on a Friday summer afternoon, and it was very busy. Lots of blond women - no kidding, everyone was blond - many with small children. The Domain would be the obvious comparison, but HCG gets on my nerves slightly less, because the offerings are more accessible to those of us who don't have Beverly Hills checkbooks or tastes. As another reviewer pointed out, it's nothing we don't have in town, but still, it's a nice addition to what was forever a very rural area. I hadn't been out there in ages, and I can't get over how much is going on in this area now. Lakeway is just a few miles up 620, and is totally unrecognizeable. There's a lot of construction, so people are obviously moving out this way. Bee Cave seems to attract a lot of young families with stay-at-home moms. The area as a whole is peppered with fancy houses, zillions of new apartments, and more businesses per capita, I'd be willing to bet, than Austin has. I can understand why people in this area would like not having to go all the way into town for this stuff anymore. It's a good 40 minute drive from our house, but I'd be willing to come out here again if the mood struck.
google avatar

Von K.

Yelp
If I want to eat, sight see, people watch or take advantage of a special event then this is a viable option. However to expect a different shopping experience, this would be my last choice. I expected creativity and a different sort of artistic expression but instead I found the same stores offered at any decent strip center. I hope there are plans to make it live up to being termed a 'Galleria."
google avatar

Jim L.

Yelp
I definately prefer the Domain over this location, but overall, I like the Hill Country Galleria as it keeps me away from the crappy Barton Creek Mall. Shops that open to the outside are much better than the interior mall, unless you live in St. Paul. Good shops, good shopping, clean(er) movie theatre than most.
