Hillary is fantastic and takes a ultra personal approach to her clients and skincare. While she says she doesn't even consider yelp to be a major avenue for her, her innumerable 5-star reviews don't lie; you will be the center of attention through your experience and for as long as you are her client. She practices a multitude of facial practices; European, Electro, hydro, and spiritual. She will retrofit your session to whatever she feels is best for your skincare at that time and will work with you on modifying some of your own facial routines to make them more productive towards your beauty goals. A beautiful soul and a awesome conversationalist, you would love Hillery as your next aesthetician.

I can't say enough good things about Hillery. I moved to New York from LA about seven months ago and needed to find a good esthetician. I went to someone else first and it just wasn't a good fit for me. I'm so thankful I went to Hillery! First off, she's very friendly, kind and open. Nothing but good vibes from her. Second, she's a great esthetician. I've gone to her three or four times now and she's kept my face looking so great despite the dirty New York air! The extractions are always difficult for me, but she does a really good job at trying to keep it chill and as relaxing as possible. If you're in Brooklyn and looking for a good facial, Hillery is definitely your gal.

From the moment I walked into her office, I immediately felt a sense of relaxation and calmness. Hillery was outwardly welcoming and really took the time to get to know my skin goals and my current regime. The facial itself was rejuvenating and I felt amazing after the facial massage and seaweed mask. I left with new knowledge of my skin and desire to take better care of it! Thanks so much Hillery! Hillery is the best facialist I have ever experienced (and I had really shitty skin one year ago so I was hitting up every facialist in town)! She has an incredibly beautiful soul that has the power to recognize everything going on in your life by looking at your skin once. On top of her amazing skills, her space feels like you're walking into a zen meditation space that's filled with little beautiful trinkets, candles, and music. She's incredibly respectful of your choices. During my crazy skin phase, I only wanted to use natural products. I've been to other facialists who laughed when I said that or said that the only way to heal my skin was with chemicals. Hillery didn't question me once. She offered me her all natural facial, and completely respected my decision. I'm also convinced she is a healer. Since seeing her, my skin has cleared up immensely. Now, the only negative with Hillery is not needing to go back as often to see her!!!

I've been going to Hillery for about 4 years now, and I think it's not accurate to call her an aesthetician, it's really more that she's an all around healer. I started going to her when I developed hormonal acne, way worse than anything I had in my teens, but now in my 30s. She helped my skin tremendously, and helped purge everything. Her products are all natural and worked wonders, and as a bonus everything smelled so good. She never pushed any products on me. Her space is beautiful, and cozy. But more than anything, it's her warm and caring spirit that sticks out. The first time I met her, she reminded me so much of my best friend. Talking to her is like talking to a best friend/therapist, in the best way. I know now she coaches and does all this other incredible stuff. Once COVID is over, I can't wait to go back and have her work that magic on my skin again!

I don't get how she has such spectacular reviews. I'm missing something! I got a facial from her months ago but just getting around to leaving some reviews now. Just briefly, in my opinion, a facial should be, most of all relaxing and luxurious experience. My experience consisted of her talking to me most of the facial. And then when she put the mask on my face, she left me laying there in the dark for 10 minutes. No shoulder massage. I feel like if I'm paying for your time, 50 min or whatever it is, you should be attending to me the entire time. Mind you, I'm a facial fanatic and have had many facials. This was my worst facial experience. I can see that I'm an unusual case compared to the rest of the reviews but that's my experience.

I thought that facials were supposed to be disfiguring and painful. I always heard you went to serve a kind of penance for dermatological sins like not washing your face with the correct product, not wearing sunblock and not getting enough sleep or drinking enough water. I am guilty of all of these things and feared the punishment of grim scolding extractions and the angry welts that would surely be on my face like scarlet letters for days to come. Instead my face got loved to smithereens by lovely Hillery. When I walked out I looked pure and radiant and virtuous and new! I got nice looks from people. Thats not what facials usually do right? Miomia is awesome and Hillery is amazing!!!!!!

I don't like facials. I don't like being pampered. I don't enjoy having someone touch my face. And I don't like talking to people I don't enjoy talking to. Yet Hillery Sklar overcame even my misanthropy, such is her genuine zeal for what she does, and what she does, she does very well. My skin had attained a DEFCON 2 status, and in order to bring it to a manageable level wherein the dry, the oily, the erupting and the scaly were not warring, I had to bring in a serious peacemaker. That peacemaker is Hillery. She is the Albert Schweitzer of aestheticians, to keep pace with the first metaphor, and she made me feel ok about my skin again. She's gentle, thorough, caring, interested, interesting, skillful and passionate. Go to her. Then go to her again. I will.

Hillery loves what she does and does it so well! I had my first facial with her and can't wait to go back. I have had problematic skin in the past year out of nowhere and Hillery was able to identify some key solutions. A week after the facial my skin is already much better and the persistent and very deep acne has diminished substantially. My favorite part besides the mask and zapper wand (not sure what it's called but it's amazing) is the feeling that I'm in good hands. I like that she asked what regimen I was doing and could help make adjustments. She's also good at suggesting new products but is definitely not a product pusher. I recommend Hillery for everyone,-great skin or problematic skin.

Hillery is amazing. This was my first facial - I stared struggling with acne and troubled skin as an adult. I had a huge breakout in the fall and I couldn't get my skin to clear up completely at ALL. No matter what I did I still had some bumps. Hillery got them all out! And pretty gently! Her energy is amazing and really helps you relax. My skin looked so amazing after- I was surprised by the little scabbing the next day but then BAM it all healed up and my skin was glowing!!!! It's been a few months and my skin is still soooo beautiful much better than it was before I saw her. Can't wait to see her again. Go go go!!!

Hillery is so great that I decided to write my first Yelp review about her. My skin has improved considerably and consistently since I started going to her for facials two years ago. She is skillful and knowledgable--at my first appointment, she could tell right away that I don't drink enough water--and clearly enjoys what she does. She can helpfully offer suggestions for your at-home regimen but doesn't push any brands on you. She is warm, inviting, accommodating, generous with her time, and good with conversation despite my being terrible at it. Highly recommended. (Please note that she has LITERALLY wiped away my tears during extractions. Like, come on. How fantastic.)

Following the advise of fellow Yelpers I went to this ANGEL!! First off I emailed her a few days ago asking for a weekend appointment, Hillery kindly emailed me back stating that she was completely booked for the month on the weekend..SIGH!! I emailed back stating that I had a weekday open and hoped that she had one as well..she kindly replied "I am not kidding you..I'm totally booked." Dream shot down. Then a miracle.."are you available this saturday at 2:30?" YES YES I totally am!! This was my first time getting a facial and I was a bit nervous. I don't usually like anyone getting close to my face but it needed to happen as my birthday is the 16th and I wanted a glow. I am so so so so happy I went to Hillery. She was professional, kind, warm and just the right balance of a person. Just the right amount of talking which eased me down a lot, the right amount of pressure, the right amount of love! She throughly cleaned every inch of my face and when it came time for my massage..I was simply transported to a place of zen that my single working mother of two-ness has not felt in a very very very long time. Thank you Hillery for today you are amazing!!

I had a facial with Hillery about 3 days ago and it was a very good experience. Hillary is super friendly and seems to genuinely care about the people she works on. She was very thorough and considerate of the specific issues of MY skin. The extractions were virtually painless and the massage was great. I love that Hillery says things like "My instinct is to use this mask on you." Keep following your instinct Hillery! It is clearly leading you in the right direction, my skin looked amazing and continues to do so. I am definitely making this a regular thing.

Hillery is one of the most talented and warm persons in existence! No, really. I have been seeing Hillery for facials for over a year and my skin has never looked better. I have always had to wear high coverage foundation but after seeing Hillery regularly I have been able to switch to just wearing tinted moisturizer. Yay! Also, her facial massages are so rejuvenating that I always walk out massage stoned. She's amazing. Go see her!

Hillery Sklar is not only my esthetician but also my life coach. Seriously. I had a facial appointment that I was FLYING IN FOR when things went sideways and I walked into the door and cried in her arms. I know thats not a normal appointment but Hillery is an amazing human being who is a master at skin and also the heart beating inside the skin. My face and life has changed so much under her expert care. She's a healer.

Hill is #1. She's consistent, gentle with your skin, thorough, and uses amazing products. I've been going to her for five years. There's no one better, hands down. Book early if possible. She fills up fast.

In the past when I have gotten facials I have just planned on my face being a mess for at least a day. It seemed like par for the course if I wanted my skin clean. After seeing Hillery for a facial, my skin always feels and looks clean but there are never red marks as a result of the extractions. I know I can go on a date that night without having to be self conscious about how my face looks or worrying that it will hurt or be marked up. In fact, my skin always looks better directly afterward. The face massage is great and the room is comfortable and relaxing. I definitely recommend this facial. It's a great gift too, I have gotten a couple gift certificates for friends and they both thanked me for connecting them with Hillery!

Hillery is amazing at what she does. She's so nice and made me feel super comfortable. She walked me through everything, researched products I was interested in, gave me suggestions and regimen recommendations that are manageable. The space is lovely, relaxed, clean but cozy at the same time. My face feels and looks so much better. Looking forward to going back again.

Before I met Hillery, I had ruined my skin by doing the oil cleansing method. I had cystic acne so bad, that is was dreadful for me to leave the house. I found Hillery from YELP and after only 3 sessions my skin is clear and back to normal. I actually get compliments on my skin on a normal basis! That's awesome for my self-esteem! Not only does Hillery give an amazing facial, she taught me how to take care of my skin. Before that, I hadn't a clue on what a regular skin routine should consist of. She never pushed a product on me ever- which I love because in the past I would go somewhere and walk out of the spa with a bunch of crap that didn't work. Hillery uses Mario Badescu and the products are great and all organic! She makes me smell better and have skin like a baby! She is very open-minded and is more than my aesthetician, she's like my therapist, a now a great friend for life. I have been going to her since December and go to her regularly, about every 3 months. With out Hillery as a part of my essential skin routine, I would have to use a lot of sick days because when I get a zit, I'm very self-conscious and want to stay home from work or school! The best in NYC, hands down :)

Just had a wonderful facial from Hillery! I am also an esthetician, and can be picky about my facials, but she left no stone unturned with her diligent extractions. My skin has been a wreck after this long winter and Hillery brought it back to life! She is also a sweet and kind person so it was all around enjoyable experience inside the charming store of MioMia! Can't wait to go back!!

This is the first facial I have ever gotten and surely not the last. Hillery is truly the best. She knew exactly why my skin was acting up and is willing to work with me to make sure it starts clearing up. She tells you just like it is and I love that because I'm no way does she try to push products on you. It literally felt like I went to visit my friend, she's very welcoming kind and knowledgeable. For my first facial I am really glad I chose Hillery. I can't think of a better introduction. She is not only a rad person; she has infectiously rad energy, amazing intuition, and truly loves what she does. She's very informative and attentive on an individual level. Great with skin, great with people. Even though I was there for the cheaper half-hour choice, she gave me free extra time and a mask, because she is magic. What more could you ask for? I will definitely recommend and be back.

Went for a facial with Hillery yesterday and it was amazing. She is a kind and genuine person who clearly cares a lot about what she is doing, and she does an amazing job. She takes her time, explains everything she's doing and the cute science behind your skin, and uses top of the line products that smell amazing (which she does not make commission on, so you know her recommendation comes from the heart), and is the sweetest. Hillery is somehow capable of making my aging ass (meaning my face) look ten years younger every time I see her. Until I started going to Hillery, I never enjoyed facials -- I found them to be uncomfortable and my skin would be blotchy for a couple of days after. I LOVE going to see her. My skin is amazing when I leave, the experience is...(dare I say it?)...enjoyable, and she advises me on affordable products that are always spot-on for my skin type. Highly recommended.

HOLY MOLY. GET THEE TO HILLERY SKLAR. I hadn't had an aesthetician touch my face in about three years before going in to my first appointment with Hillery, and I now have skin that mirrors that of a newborn baby's behind. I am not exaggerating when I say that my face hasn't felt this smooth or had tone this consistent since I was a child--and I have a history of acne, blotchiness and mild rosacea. Hillery is so passionate about what she does, and she is a great listener and a super-personable, funny human being who is a joy to meet. She lets you know exactly what she's going to do re: your appointment, so there are no surprises re: extractions, masks or the like--and, as others have noted, she will help you craft your at-home skincare routine without pushing any specific products on you. I am definitely going to return to Hillery to keep my skin up.

Just had an amazing facial with Hillery! I came in to start getting my skin in shape for my upcoming wedding and I'm so glad I found Hillery thru Yelp. She was warm and funny and it immediately felt like we were old friends. The whole facial experience was awesome, especially the zapper wand thing and the massage. I am so happy I found Hillery! She is professional and kind. She was gentle but thorough with my skin. She recommended regimen above products- I didnt feel forced to buy what she used but I will probably look for recommendations from her when I do need new products. I was in good hands and highly recommend her services!

This wasn't my first facial but this was definitely my favorite. Hillery was incredibly sweet, genuine, & comforting. You can tell she takes pride in helping others. On to the facial, she started with a very gentle cleansing and then steam. After the steam opened up my pores, she performed some of the most thorough but gentle extractions. I suffer with having a lot of under the skin whiteheads. She totally cleared all the gunk out and educated me on ways to keep them away. After that a mask and oxygen enhancing electro thingy* (not sure what it's called) that she recommended would help. After that moisturizer and a light facial massage. While having the facial we went through the products I use and she referred me to a product which I believe is currently helping me. So far so good no more under the skin bumps. I scheduled an appointment with her two months out. Thank You!!!! :)

I took a Plan B pill last summer and my skin went crazy. Never ending cycle of cysts on chin and cheek that (fingers crossed) is finally coming to end after several visits to this amazing woman. She is truly special and has the most incredible spirit. I swear by her. You should too.

i have never had a facial before. this one was gifted to me and now i am hooked. i have never felt so relaxed, warm, and cared for. the room was peaceful and every touch had the most real energy. i'm so lucky to have had my first facial from hillery. she truly loves her work, and cares for people with a huge heart. i promise you, you will not be disappointed.

I started seeing Hillery about 5 months ago and am officially hooked, won't go to anyone else. I've been seeing facialists for over a decade, some of them very good, but have never been treated with such great personalized service. My skin was super broken out early in my pregnancy and Hillery made it - and me feel so much better! I also love the fact that she doesn't push a million products on you that you'd never use, she truly cares about value. She's a rare find.

am deeply offended by yelp for "filtering" my review. can someone not write a GOOD REVIEW of a GREAT SERVICE without being 'filtered'? i will say it again in a precis of the original, well thought out, off the cuff and totally honest review i already wrote (let's see if i get filtered again!): i go to hillery sklar to have facials because she's a wonderful aesthetician, and i can't recommend her highly enough - it is a relaxing and enjoyable experience (even when she's deep cleaning your pores). she is affordable, uses wonderful skin care, and her facial massage is heaven.

Hillery is fantastic! I found her through Yelp as I just moved to the neighborhood and I have desperately needed a facial for some time. She is funny, kind, delightful to speak with and amazing at what she does. She didn't judge the terrible state of my clogged pores. She just gave me great advice and worked hard. And my face looks amazing. I have already been back for round two and am so happy to have found Hillery. I cannot recommend her enough - she is one of a kind.

Hillery's consistent five star rating is not unwarranted. It took about six weeks to get in with her, and the wait was well worth it! I have horrible, horrible acne; as in, Hillery is my last stop in a long line of products, lasers, topicals, prescriptions, etc before I drag myself to the feet of Accutane. She is incredibly personable, a great conversationalist, funny and sweet. None of these are a requirement for / make for a great esthetician, but it is definitely an added bonus. Upon telling Hillery of my agonizing five year crawl toward Accutane, she was upfront and honest with me that, considering my demonic skin (my description, not her's), Accutane may be necessary, but that she would like a chance with my skin first and that she would love to be part of the decision making process with me. She is so passionate and caring, I feel like she is my skin care goddess. The facial was very soothing, even with the intense amount of extractions she did. The process was not rushed at all, she talked me through every part and really customized the routine to best benefit my specific skin. She was very thorough and as gentle as possible, and made conversation to take my mind off of her excavating, all the while a spa version of We Will Rock You (??!!) played in the background. It was amazing. When I checked out my skin after, I said "Wow!" at myself in the mirror. With the amount of extractions she did, I expected to be a blotchy, red mess, and although there was some redness, mostly my skin was glowing and looked smoother, cleaner, and with pores smaller than they had been in a very, very long time. She is not a product pusher in the slightest, but I took home the two she recommended to me and even in the first day I've noticed them working. I'm not sure if this will be my light at the end of the tunnel. I may still need to go on Accutane because my skin is of the devil, but I'm happy to have Hillery to guide me through the process. Even if she can't cure my acne, even in the first go around she did an incredible job of rooting a lot of it out and calming it down significantly. I will definitely continue to see her as long as I have skin on my face.

hillery is incredible at what she does. she's actually been caring for my skin since even before she opened her shop. when i just read these yelp reviews i wasnt surprised AT ALL that she was given 5 stars all the way down the list. this is the person you want giving you facials and skin care mostly because she is passionate about it. that passion is conveyed through extra care, extra sensitivity, generosity and thoroughness. i wouldnt trust anyone else with my skin.

I can't think of any other way to express the luxury and pampering I receive when i make my regular appointments with Hillery, besides exhilaration. I am completely in awwh towards my reflection as she completes my beauty chore, and as I walk out feeling satisfied I am inspired to book a session for all my loved ones as well.

I have been battling a stubborn case of hormonal acne from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome for about a year and a half now. I have been to many, many dermatologists and tried a million products along the way, which almost always made matters worse. I started going to Hillery regularly starting in May or June, and she has helped me SO MUCH. Although I certainly wouldn't have cleared up without the aid of hormonal medications prescribed by my endocrinologist, Hillery's facials, advice, and pep talks have been critical in the healing process. Her extractions are thorough and effective; her product recommendations are on-point and NEVER superfluous; and most importantly, she is SO generous, kind, and comforting! I still break out a little bit, because my hormones are the devil and spirononlactone takes months to kick in. But, my skin is 10000000 times better since I started working with her. I feel confident that things are going to be 100% under control very soon thanks to Hillery!

I love HIlery. She knows what your skin needs and gives it to u. She doesn't up sell you or throw products or treatments at you that you don't need. She takes great care of your skin. And she is a lovely person to boot!!!

I have never written a yelp review, and obviously Hillery doesn't need anymore, but I can't help satisfying the need to publicly express how amazing Hillery and her facials are. This was my first facial and I walked out utterly dumbfounded on what I had just experienced. I had the same obliviousness to the world as only a coup de foudre can produce. You are caught somewhere between the present and past moment, unsure if what you underwent really occurred, yet made certain from the unstoppable repetition of memories. Smiling is the only facial possibility. All my blackheads that I had had for years...gone. Felt the rebirth of my skin. If one has a face, one must see Hillery Sklar.

I've never had a better facial and overall experience than I did when I got my facial with Hillery. Not only did my skin look AND feel better, after my facial, I felt like a made a new friend in Hillery after my visit. She made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed and made sure to listen to what I had to say about my skin, which makes a huge difference. She was kind, funny and really understood how to clean my face without it being uncomfortable. Obviously everyone has their own opinion, but I can't understand how someone couldn't love Hillery.
