Hillside Lodge & Chalets

We toured the cabins last August and had our wedding the following August. Stef was great to work with, clear communication and she answered all of our questions in a timely manner. She had great recommendations as we were planning a wedding from another province. Our wedding party stayed on site and expressed how much they all loved their cabins. We had our ceremony at Kicking Horse but wanted a more intimate forest setting for our reception, Hillside was perfect. Stefs husband was also great. They accommodated our 2 dogs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We stayed in the Boler- and it seriously had the most comfortable bed ever! Cute little camper. The owners were amazing as well and the area is gorgeous.

I had the pleasure of working with Hillside Lodge and Chalets in 2022, providing drone photography, a 360° virtual tour, and traditional photos for their beautiful property. Stefanie, the owner and manager, was wonderful to collaborate with, welcoming, organized, and truly dedicated to capturing the unique spirit of Hillside. The property is a hidden gem just a quick drive from Golden: secluded and peaceful, with charming cabins and breathtaking river and forest views. It’s also a fantastic venue for weddings, offering a picturesque natural setting that’s hard to beat. If you’re searching for a place that combines natural beauty, tranquility, and outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend Hillside Lodge and Chalets.

I just got married here to my husband and it was such a beautiful wedding! The cabins are so cozy, the scenery is breath taking and the service is top notch! The barn is rustic and stunning (and heated!). There's plenty of parking! There's lawn games! It's private! We could not have picked a better venue! The only thing I would change about the venue is that the bridal suite absolutely needs better lighting and more surface area for makeup, hair tools etc. But it was still a cute space! We love that they also support Love is Love and we can't say enough good things about this place! Please consider Hillside for your wedding, family reunion or vacation spot! Steph and Mark were fantastic hosts for our son’s wedding. They booked all the chalets plus the bridal suite. Everything was so clean. We used the barbecue and fire pit on the rehearsal night. The wedding venue and reception areas were beautiful. Local catering, DJ and shuttle service to hotels in Golden were all wonderful compliments to a fabulous weekend. Totally recommend.

My son and his beautiful bride held their wedding here in September. The cabins were very comfortable, clean and quiet. The views were gorgeous . The staff friendly and helpful. The Barn was huge and beautiful when decorated. The grounds very easy to walk through. I highly recommend this venue.

Our daughter held her wedding at Hillside. It was a pretty setting. The cabins were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Check in and out were simple and easy. Staff were wonderful. Wedding went off without any hitches! Great job and thank you!

We booked Hillside for our wedding 2 years ago, without ever seeing the venue. We booked it based off of some photos and the idea that we could spend the entire weekend with our friends and family. When we arrived the day before the wedding, we were blown away. This place is pure magic. The owners are so kind. The fact that you have access to the entire property for the weekend is mind blowing - it has everything you need and more! The view for the ceremony was stunning, the barn was beautiful, the cabins are super cute and the BBQ area was awesome. Our guests can't stop talking about this venue.

We just spent three amazing nights at Hillside Lodge in a wonderful little one bedroom cabin. When I say we I mean my little family composed of me, the spouse, the two boys (one 9 and the other 16) and our two small dogs. The cabin had ample room for all of us with a queen sized bed in the bedroom with delightfully European duvets and comfortabel but firm matress. The boys slept on the fold down futon in the living room. Kitchenette was well stocked with all the amenities except for bar sized fridge was a little disappointing. Bathroom had a shower with hot hot water! And everything was clean and well kept and wonderfully manicured and landscaped. A fairytale camping spot with all the luxuries of a hotel. The huge firepit was a hit with the boys and there was even a barbeque for grilling outside. The dogs were more than thrilled to wander the woods and meadows without a care. Hubert and Sonja the owners were a pleasure and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Our only regret was that we didn't take the oportunity to book a dinner at the main lodge to try the food. Just outside of Golden a five minute drive so access to amenities is easy. We will definitely return here next summer.
