Richmond’s Hilltop Mall Won’t Be Getting a Shiny New Asian Food Court After All | Eater SF

"Once the crown jewel of Richmond’s burgeoning Hilltop District after opening in 1976, I’ve watched the long-beleaguered Hilltop Mall deteriorate from a nostalgic local hangout into a largely vacant property that’s been closed since the start of the coronavirus crisis; developers LBG Real Estate, which bought the 1.3 million-square-foot mall in 2017, have rebranded it as a potential 'East Bay Science and Technology Center' — essentially a life-sciences and biotech office park — and are now marketing the site for sale or lease after abandoning earlier plans for a glitzy Asian-centric 'Shops at Hilltop.' Years of decline left occupancy falling from about 50 percent to just 16 percent, the developers never undertook the promised capital improvements, and now only a single tenant, a Walmart, remains." - Luke Tsai

Large movie house in the Hilltop plaza that offers English and East Indian movies. Beautiful lobby area and limited bistro tables Lots of free parking and close to public transportation. Nice staff

IHop is the best. I had a deliciously prepared omelet. My daughter loved the tacos. Angelica served us again. She is so wonderful. She's the best. Staff is great. We got in and were immediately seated. We ordered, ate, paid, and left right away to head and visit my mother at the hospital.

Again, close to home. Convenient and customer friendly. The staff are well trained in assisting the customers with their bill paying process on the machines inside the store. And this is good! I went for the all you can eat pancakes special. I've noticed when they have the special the pancakes taste a bit more bland and there is a lot of variation in size. I had the all you can eat special with eggs, hash browns, and sausage. It was cooked correctly. I wish though that they offered an alternative to the hash browns as they are a filler when it's unlimited pancakes.
