The staff was so helpful and polite. We had issues with charges just due to booking through third party but the hotel staff were able to fix the issue and were so nice about it. Our room wasn't ready at check-in time but they had us in an hour after and gave us 1 hour late checkout at no extra charge. The room was nice, great view of the gulf and the pool. Nice bathroom and comfy bed. It was pet friendly and had a nice size dog park in back. Breakfast buffet was a bit pricey and the food was just OK. I wish I had ordered from the menu instead. I will say the buffet had tons of options. The location was great, right across from the seawall and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. My favorite part of this resort was the pool. It is heated and includes a swim up bar and waterfall. Plenty of lounge chairs and seating. Complimentary lemon/lime water available also. You can order food at the pool bar which is a nice option. Overall our stay was very comfortable and pleasant. I would recommend it and would definitely consider staying here on future Galveston getaways!

From the minute we pulled up to the hotel until we checked out the Valet and Front desk staff were excellent! Grayson with the Valet team went above and beyond to help us get our oversized vehicle parked for our stay. Then the front desk staff (Emily and the manager on duty) helped me with some booking issues and keeping us in our same rooms for an additional night. The hotel was very busy during our stay but all of the staff remained calm, kind and professional. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable too! Highly recommend the Hilton Galveston resort!

We were in Galveston to help our daughter with our grandchildren. We had two rooms but in different areas, (different elevators) making it difficult to get them when needed. |We exchanged kids often because of the many different dance schedules in the convention center next door. Peggy worked to get my daughter moved to a room closer to us. It saved all of us ---making our stay so much more enjoyable! It's about going that extra step.| A couple of the dance costumes were left in the old room and Peggy made sure we were contacted and held them for us. We appreciated everything she did for us. The rooms were cleaned everyday meeting our expectations. The breakfast servers were always helpful.

We felt very comfortable here. We were a little unlucky with the weather, but we were still able to enjoy the beach and the sea. When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a wonderful room with a view of the sea for a small extra fee. We would do it again and again. The room itself is very clean, the bathroom is well equipped and really very clean. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and courteous.

We were very excited for our stay in Galveston, but I had made a mistake when booking. Luckily, Peggy became our hero when she got everything straightened out and saved our vacation. She really went above and beyond to make sure we'd have the best experience possible, and she absolutely nailed it. We ended up with the perfect room with a beautiful view of the beach and pool. Thank you Peggy!!!

Google
Positive: The front-desk staff was easy to work with from start to finish, even when we unexpectedly asked to extend our stay and stay in the same room. The process was smooth. The rest of the hotel staff was so friendly and helpful, as well! Negative: I wish they offered free parking because the difference in cost for self vs. valet was not much. We also didn't know about, nor receive, our parking pass initially so I worry we could have actually been towed, despite paying for self-parking at check-in.

I stayed at the Hilton Galveston Island for three days, and while the location is excellent right across from the beach and close to plenty of dining options the overall experience was just okay due to several service issues.||We were locked out of our room because the battery in the key fob died. It took about 20 minutes for maintenance to arrive, although the engineer was apologetic and resolved the issue professionally.||Our experience at the hotel restaurant was disappointing. It took over 30 minutes to receive our food, and our server, Kailey, barely checked on us. When we finally approached her for coffee and an update, there was no explanation or acknowledgment of the delay. After another 10 minutes of waiting, we asked to cancel our order and spoke with the manager, James. Instead of apologizing, he made excuses about a “rush,” though the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived. Poor customer service all around.||On the positive side, Connie, a staff member who cleaned the tables, was wonderful. She was kind, helpful, and one of the few bright spots during our stay. The pool was also nice, with fun extras like balls and boogie boards for the kids.||Overall, the hotel has potential great amenities and a prime location, but the inconsistent service, especially in the restaurant, was disappointing. With some improvements in customer care, this could be a much better experience

We received an email from the hotel offering early check-in for an additional fee, which we accepted. However, a day before our arrival, we were informed that early check-in would not be available. Despite this last-minute change, we proceeded with our trip and arrived at 4 PM—the standard check-in time—after a long drive, only to be told that the room was still not ready. There was no apology or attempt to make up for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, even as a Gold/Diamond member, there was no recognition or enhanced level of service provided.

Yelp
I have a deep appreciation for this hotel and choose to stay here whenever I visit Galveston. During my most recent stay, I booked the suite, which offered an impressive amount of space, featuring two queen beds in the bedroom, two full bathrooms, a well-appointed kitchen, a bar, a comfortable living room, and two balconies with lovely views. While I didn't dine on-site, I did enjoy a few drinks at the bar. They definitely could improve on the size of the pours. The property also boasts a coffee bar, a restaurant, and a gym with some of the finest treadmills I've ever run on. Though it may not be the most luxurious hotel in the area, its prime location, exceptional pool, and overall experience make it my preferred choice whenever I'm in Galveston.

Yelp
Nice resort, basic amenities, great views As part of our Texas trek, we used this location for our base of operations. The front end was always busy. This place is used by many for a quick rest stop for those traveling by cruise ship or touring around the island. The girlfriend knew that the ocean view rooms were the right places to be. The balconies point towards the ocean but not directly so. You actually get better views from the ocean view rooms than the balconies. Bed and linens were comfy enough. Rooms had some wear but nothing major. Breakfast was a la carte and was always slammed because of all the travelers. The pool is slightly heated, but given the colder temps around January it wasn't warm enough to stay in. The hot tub is very small and broken when we tried to use it. The fitness center had some new equipment and was easy enough to locate. No lounge, though some older postings indicated it existed before. It's a decent place to rest, but very much a pit stop location. Aim for an ocean view, enjoy the view but go other places for food and drink.

Yelp
Overall we had a good experience here. Pros: Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast was pretty good and kids under 5 eat free. Cons: Had some temperature issues in room 537. Heater would either run full blast or not at all. So it was constantly going between too hot and too cold. Had to ask for a pack and play 3 times before it was delivered. Shower Water only get a little above lukewarm. The beds were very firm.

Yelp
I stayed here for the first time last weekend. It was my first trip to Galveston. Great location! The staff were really nice, friendly, and were able to creatively covered the bar/pool area when unfortunately one of their folks had an accident and couldn't make it to work and they couldn't find a replacement. The food and drinks I ordered were also really good! The view from my gulf view balcony was nice, but it did include a lot of parking lot view as well. The reason for my 3 star review is related to facilities. My room shower did not seem to get very hot water so I showered in mostly warm water. The vent in the shower area was really dirty and filled with lint/dust and the shower floor looked stained. Finally, the power to the middle console between the beds went out the last night I was there so I had to plug my phone in a socket that wasn't ideal to run a white noise app I have on my phone. I did tell the checkout person I talked to when I checked out about these items, and she said she'd have someone look into it. I also had to have my bill corrected for resort credits & self parking discounts that were supposed to be applied but weren't and an additional pool bar charge that was not mine removed. All was adjusted and taken care of before I left and I believe the final charges were accurate. Hopefully the facility issues are addressed because I do like to stay at Hilton properties when I travel.

Yelp
This review is for Mitch. Such awesome kid . Thank you for your kindness. Sure a perfect person to have as you get off the car.

Yelp
This was our second stay at the Hilton Galveston Island resort and there was some good and some bad. When we pulled in, we were not really given an option of bringing up our own luggage because the valet guy just grabbed a cart and started loading it on. That was fine, but I like to have a choice. They were very friendly at check-in and even though I had pre-ordered daily self parking, it was not noted on my reservation. The desk clerk told me that it's not uncommon but they gave me the advanced parking price of $10 per night. if you don't request it in advance it is $15 a night. When we got up to our room, the door key would not work. The guy with our luggage called someone and it took quite a while for them to come up and once they did they realized the battery Inside the card reader was bad. Then we had to wait a while again for someone else to bring a battery and replace it . When we finally got in, I was not very happy with our room. We had made these reservations six months earlier and they assured me I would have a nice Ocean view. They have a really pretty new pool area with a nice big fountain in the middle but the trees around it did obstruct our view of the ocean. We were only on the second floor so I asked them if we could move higher and they said they were completely booked. We paid extra for the ocean view with a balcony and I really wish I had only asked for the ocean view with no balcony because those rooms look straight onto the ocean and we were looking out from the side of the building. We were there for a class reunion and on the first evening there was a get together in one of the partial ballrooms. They only had one bartender and the line for drinks (that we had to pay) for was long all evening. The next night was a dinner in the big ballroom. The room was really nice and I don't know who made the food, but it was very much a disappointment. It sounded so good and everyone was looking forward to it and the only thing I really liked was the delicious chocolate mousse cake for dessert. When we were checking out the next day our TV had gone out so we were not able to check out from the room. It was very convenient staying at the hotel because we had all our events on site. But with the problems we had and the expensive price I paid, I doubt I would ever stay there again.

Yelp
Stayed here prior to disembarking on our cruise to the Western Caribbean. The room was very nice and we had a great view. We booked this room with a huge discount due to having a Hilton aspire credit card. Since it was cold (50's) there was no way to use the pool, it wasn't heated. The hot tub was closed down too. Plus you can opt to leave your car in a parking lot down the street instead of paying for parking at the port. It was a great deal! $50 to store the car for 7 days and $10 pp to transport us to the port. Since we got the last appointment on the shuttle, which made it very close to the ship's departure time, we opted to get up early and wait in the lobby to potentially get on an earlier shuttle. Luckily that worked out for us and we got on the first shuttle. It took a little while to get to the port since there were three hotels for pick up. We still got to the port prior to our time to board. They assured us we wouldn't miss the ship. Make sure to call ahead and schedule an early time and give yourself plenty of time to get to the cruise port. Coming off the ship we self service disembarked so we were off by 7:30am. The first pick up happens at 8:45 so we decided to Uber back to the car. It was cold and we didn't want to wait over an hour for transport. We would stay here again but may just schedule an Uber next time. It's about 3 miles from the cruise port, plan accordingly.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights before our Disney cruise. Excellent hotel! The staff is amazing. From start to finish, our trip was much more pleasant staying here. When we arrived staff member, SJ Shaw, was very accommodating, helping us with parking our car. The first night of our stay we dined in. Given the holiday season, it was packed. The restaurant was very busy so the food took a while but once it arrived, boy were we happy because it was delicious! Everyone is so friendly and hospitable. Emily, the hotel room attendant provided excellent service, ensuring we had all we needed for our stay and kept our room tidy. The hotel staff had holiday events such as a holiday movie night and live musical performances to keep guests entertained. Every staff member went above and beyond.

Yelp
First visit to this hotel and we were very pleased with the room and the room service food was exceptional. The room was on an upper floor and had a beautiful view of the beach and gulf. The swimming pool was packed with families and seating was relatively full for the entire time we were there. Parking charges were reasonable, even valet, for a beach resort property. We will visit this hotel again.

Yelp
4 night stay. Clean and comfy. No carpet is a huge plus! Good AC. On site lounge and restaurant was very nice. Dinner and breakfasts were exceptional. Room service breakfast was terrific. Very nice pool and hot tub. Good location. Loss of one star because only one EV charger (Tesla only), and my room had an odor, possibly animal odor. Would stay here again but would ask for a room change if the room had an odor.

Rex C.

Yelp
This was my 5th stay and 3 out of the 5 stays there have been issues. You would think with this big remodel we wouldn't have any issues but this is the 3rd time we had issues with their AC system. I guess they are using old cheaper wall units. Therefore they don't cool and are not efficient. Period as much as they charge at this location they really need to step up the quality of the air-conditioning. The customer service here is pretty good. They address the situation but to have text come in your room all night trying to make things right really kind of makes not so enjoyable. So moving forward if I choose to stay here again, I'm gonna have them double check the AC to make sure it's working for us show up. Also, one of the rooms they moved us to had a horrible stitch so we just elected to leave after all. Sometimes you pay 4 to 500 per night. At this price this hotel should really be top-notch but it's not. They need to really consider maintenance and the prices are paying for hotels do not reflect the amenities.

Yelp
Just love love love this hotel!!! We were immediately greeted by Melanie who was absolutely fabulous. She made the check in process so freaking simple. Our room wasn't available but we were able to put our things in the bell room so we could go swim and just enjoy our day until our room was ready. We spent most of our afternoon swimming and enjoying the swim up bar which we loved, the drinks were great, which by the way the bar tender girls are absolutely FABULOUS and kept our drinks filled! The food was great. We loved the pool! Around 4ish our room was ready and the bell hop had already took our things up which was nice and we had no idea. Our room was nice cold and clean! The beds were super freaking comfortable we had a great view of the gulf! Overall this was an amazing hotel with amazing staff and amenities. I'm glad we chose to stay here before we rode off into the sunset on our cruise! Again thank you Melanie for that effortless check in and for being such a nice and enjoyable human In today's cold world!

Shana W.

Yelp
Beautiful view of the beach. There are several places to eat within walking distance. Grocery store next door for grabbing snacks. Rooms were clean. We had a newly remodeled room, no carpet which I loved.

Shaili B.

Yelp
Me and my husband decided to take a short get a way from houston to the Hilton Galveston resort. The second we drove in we were greeted by friendliness. The concierge let us know where to go for self parking. We parked and entered to check in. The staff overall was very nice and pleasant. The lobby looks nice, the pool looked fun! We got into our room and started to feel icky- there were a few places in the restroom we found other peoples hair, on the soap containers, near the toilet. We could tell the rooms were older. We did have a decent view of the pool and was able to watch the sunrise Sunday morning. Sunday morning we felt like ordering room service so we called the number through the hotel phone few minutes after 6:30am without success. We then called again maybe 5 minutes after with the same error or stating no one has picked up, phone call was not able to go through. We then decided to call guest services and they tried to connect us twice which did not work. We eventually just gave up- by that time it was probably 7am. We decided we would walk on the beach. We came back and went to the downstairs restaurant at Hilton resort. The staff was pleasant however messed up. First we asked to drink water and they brought us coffee. We then ordered pancakes for breakfast- took longer than expected but we're so warm and fluffy! We decided to head home. For some reason we just felt more comfortable going home than staying there. Overall we came here because we had a free night at a resort expiring soon but seems like it is a bit overpriced for the quality of room and experience.

Yelp
Like most people who use the hotel we are going on a cruise. We simply used it as a staging location before our cruise ship leaves. The first room we were assigned was on the first floor. It smelled like mildew and had an awful awful view. The front desk immediately corrected that offering us another room, which we went to preview by the time we got back to the front desk, the room was taken by someone else and we went up with the room with a view that was not as nice however , no mildew smell. I have to say most hotels where I've had to switch rooms, they gave me two sets of key cards so that I could transfer my luggage myself or they would send the bellhop to move the luggage for us. This was certainly not done and that is the reason we missed out on the nicer room. As for the restaurant, we had a nice dinner in our room. Room service was prompt, attentive, and executed flawlessly. The pizza is halfway decent with a decent tasting sauce, tasty mozzarella cheese and a decent crust. The salmon was not plated as described, but still came with an excellent purée and some tasty vegetables on the side. The salmon was fresh although not the freshest I've had. One complaint was that we asked for a picture of water and glasses, and the glasses were not clean. We had breakfast buffet and had excellent service. The buffet is the standard Hilton buffet. Nothing to write home about decent quality and a fair price for what you get. If we were to stay here longer, I would've insisted on a room with a better view and we would also have a car so that we could've explored the area on our own. The view of the bay in the morning is wonderful as an absolute plus for staying here. All in all not the worst Hilton stayed in, but not the best.

Yelp
Hilton Loyalty is a JOKE at this hotel! On October 3rd I booked a 1 bedroom suite for 4 people using 119,000 points. When we arrived after 9+ hours of travel (multiple flights and car travel) with a 4 year old in tow, we were exhausted and were excited to rest. I retrieved the key from reception and we proceeded to our room. The shock when the door opened and it was a double bed NOT the suite I booked. I went to the desk with the confirmation email in hand knowing there must be a mistake. They told me I had called 2 days prior and changed the reservation. I advised I did not call nor make any changes. I in fact never talked to anyone at the hotel until we arrived that day. They said there was nothing they could do and they had no other rooms. I was very upset, I could still see the 119,000 points were used for this maybe 20,000 point room. The manager could not or would not do anything to make this better. After a miserable night then being away for over a week, I finally got to calling Hilton about the experience. It was confirmed someone from the hotel reduced my guest count from 4 to 2 in January and moved the room. I got my points back, which is expected, but nothing for the inconvenience of the whole stressful ordeal. I am still reeling that the hotel really put a damper on what was supposed to be a great start to vacation that is rare to do as a family. Loyalty is looking to be less important to Hilton.

Angela R.

Yelp
Suzanne Duncan the manager was very rude after we had an incident where someone was knocking on our door repeatedly all night, she stated that the front desk clerk, Jenny lied about seeing someone on camera. As we were told originally. I told her I would reach out to corporate. She said, "give it your best shot" and hung up on me

Yelp
I loved my stay at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort. I was upgraded to room 1030 which was fantastic. I came during a relatively cold day and the room has powerful AC for certain but I was able to switch to heat and it was very comfortable. A lot of space and a great table I ate dinner at. the view is oceanfront. There was three bathrooms! It was incredible and a lot for one person but I am not complaining at all. All the necessary fixings were there and it was decorated in a manner that was simple yet elegant. Check in and all was easy, they even recommended I move my car closer to the elevators which was a nice touch. I did not eat breakfast there as i was out early but it looked good. The bar and restaurant had a number of people at it when I arrived and the menu looked very good! https://youtu.be/gZet2Rj3RmY

Yelp
Stayed at this Hilton last month. Checked in and there was hair in multiple places around the room the floor was dirty and the sheets Were dirty. There was mold growing in the room. We ask for someone to come clean however no one came after a few hours. So had to request again . I'm allergic to mold so they moved our room. I expect much more from Hilton and from paying over $300 for a small room.

Yelp
Haven't stayed here since 2021 and have returned to Galveston 3x/yearly, stayed at Hiltons in other cities, etc. It's just this Hilton. I popped in last time we were in Galveston and it looked gorgeous. The remodel is lovely. I had points to spend and thought I'd give it a try. But, my update is even worse. Down from 2 stars to ONE. I have no idea what is happening here (some great customer service from Barbara, Jenifer, Jemarcus, Johan, Angie...all helping in the food services). Hilton Galveston has removed phone service from the rooms, which makes it terrifying when a stranger attempts to break into your room at 12:27AM. I can tell you, hearing someone attempting to open my door and telling me it is "Housekeeping, open the door" and not having a clock to understand what time it is (those have also been removed) or a working phone to get to the front desk? Terrifying. Today's follow up? I had to chase down the front desk this morning. Twice. I was told I'd be given an update. I had to call. At 5PM. Unreal. So, make of this review what you will. This single mom who gets to vacation with her kiddo once a year has ZERO time or budget (financial or energy) to deal with nonsense like this. And from my beloved Hilton brand. I am disappointed, exhausted (I sat up all night because no one came to even check on us), and just sad. This hotel really should be better. It has everything it needs to be better. ** FWIW? The idea of removing phone service for help from hotel rooms seems quite the bad idea. I, for one, have heard more than one story about a woman in need of help, having had an incident in a hotel room.

Yelp
This is the first "resort" I've been to that was bad enough for me to look up the word resort: "...a popular destination for vacations or recreation..." Other resorts made me assume a better cut of lodging with better hospitality. This place is a box thrown up in "a popular destination for vacations or recreations", so it is honest marketing, which is an oxymoron at best. On arrival, the valet/concierge was not present. I am 100% service connected disabled Veteran, but I was feeling good enough to walk if we had to park in the deck. Fortunately, we did get a handicapped spot close to the front. Others may not be as lucky. The one lady behind the counter was on the phone. Proper prioritization would have helped her handle this better. A line of guests physically present takes precedence over a phone call, which could be placed on a short hold or directed to guest relations. If I had one word to describe the room, I'd say "damp". Being right on the seawall, dampness is expected. If you expand the one word description to musty, moldy smell and feel in the room; that is more accurate. A bathroom fan would have helped many things here. Corpus Christi hotels have a seawater atmosphere also, but the rooms are somehow not musty. The motel style, old school, through the wall units looked like they came from a cheap motel and functioned that way. The perpetual remodeling they do should have included upgraded HVAC systems. My wife and I are both in Hhonors for all the good that does here. We understood this place provided breakfast, but that was somehow not true. For over $350/night in the OFF season, they could let a $5 breakfast go. Far less expensive hotels do so with a fraction of room cost. The free WiFi connects to their router but not the Internet. My VPN obviously wouldn't work. I tethered to my cell to connect. Connecting to an unsecured router open your device to "hackers", as most people call it. Specifically, you expose your PII and security information to be harvested by scammers. The pool was being worked on with cordoned off sections. The workers digging the holes around the pool were polite and agreeable, so that was not an issue. The torn up pool surrounding was. The hot tub was also out of order/cordoned off but no one was working on it. Quick recap: $350+/night is far over the value we received Hot tub out Pool torn up/worked on No valet/concierge on arrival Excessive wait time for check in No fan in the bathroom to expel additional dampness, etc. Hhononrs not honored WiFi down, so no free WiFi Phone reads room 404 and it's 402 causing room service confusion Higher end cost and lower minimum amenities is geared to maximize their revenue and minimize costs by cutting guest hospitality services. They are in business to make money, but their guests generate revenue. It seems obvious our next trip here will be at a different hotel and cause us to revisit Hhonors shrinking benefits. If you stay here, it's your own fault. PS, Thought a hot shower would help, but there was only enough wash for my face. I guess add "They don't restock vital items for room"

Dganit B.

Yelp
Hotel overpriced and overrated. Service is awful. Room not cleaned until late afternoon. Phone in room doesn't work They charge you for cabana in the crowded pool and don't provide shaded areas. save your money and go somewhere else.

Lamont W.

Yelp
The service here is beyond terrible. Made a request ahead of time for a crib. Had to ask three times after I arrived at the hotel before I was told at 9:30pm that they don't have one. They didn't have an answer for why we weren't told 6 hours previously that one wasn't available, nor did try to come up with a solution. They also don't answer the phone when you call, forcing you to call back multiple times. Would not stay here again.

Jen S.

Yelp
Wow- this Hilton has nailed customer service! Bestie and I stayed during Spring Break as a kid free weekend getaway. Had a pampered, amazing weekend. The hotel pool is heated! The bar tender was a busy bee the entire day but always made everyone feel important and the drinks poolside were fantastic. Also ate some quesadillas from poolside grill that were quite tasty! We're both Hilton members and appreciated the extra nods of customer service we received. But especially we're impressed that the Manager, Jeremy, introduced himself and sent a welcome tray to our room. The front desk ladies were cheerful and it just seemed the entire staff here follows the smiling example of the Manager with excellent service. We're already looking to come back down for more relaxing poolside with Galveston hospitality here!

Yelp
I'm currently here. I called to confirm my room would be ready and was told it would be in a hour or hour and half. So I waited two hours to be safe it would be ready as I have an autistic 2 year old and don't want to be standing around waiting. We arrive and the room is not ready! Our belongings were placed in a room that was NOT secured. We could easily get in and out of the baggage room! We were told to walk next door to the rainforest cafe to ride the ride and we get there and ride is shut down for 3-4 more days ..... so we walked back to the hotel to see if the room was ready yet even though they said they would call when it was ready. The room was ready and so I asked why I didn't get a call and was told they forgot and were too busy because the 3rd front desk person didn't show up. Just got into our hotel room and we have this fantastic view of a roof ..... this has been a terrible experience. At this point not sure if we will return. You would think they would at least offer a complimentary cocktail while we wait or as an apology. Will update if our stay somehow improves

Yelp
Our second pre-cruise stay at the hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the water. Walked to dinner at Landry's and it was wonderful as well. We love the hotel itself and the convenience. The 2 star low rating is related to valet desk and shuttle service. We asked last night about the timing of shuttle we should take. We decided on 10:45 after discussion. The shuttle was almost an hour late and the valet desk was extremely rude when I asked about timing. We were aware of the motorcycle rally but that should have been taken into consideration and planning by hotel. The front desk person said he has been complaining about the late shuttles "for a long time". Over an hour is unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional! Do better Hilton!

Yelp
WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED AT. I've been to many hotels in my life and I've never had to wait so long WHILE being treated with such disrespect. The woman at the front desk raised her voice at me which is unacceptable. As a paying customer I should be able to access my room as scheduled and be treated with respect. I will not be staying with Hilton again since they clearly don't care about their customers. DO BETTER HILTON.

Yelp
Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was the window coverings in complete disrepair. Thank god I went in and asked to see a room. The mildew smell was overwhelming! Nope not doing it and it was $50.00 more a night than the Grand Galvez where we had stayed in the past....

Yelp
It's ok as far as a Hilton goes, it is not located close to any amenities like places to eat or shop. If we ever come back I would stay at the Hilton closer to the pleasure pier. There was a lot of construction going on with the building and the building next door which was not disclosed at booking. No upgrade offered for Gold members.

Yelp
We've stayed here many times and will stay here again. First off it smelled incredible. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is great for families and couples alike. The pool is great and has a section just for adults with a swim up bar. Consider staying here.

Yelp
Dear Ms. Kassie, This thank you is long overdue. I was at your hotel a month ago and experiencing some of the worst days of my life for some of my family members. You walked past me as you asked how I was doing? I said, "Awful!" Instead of going on about your day, you turned around and inquired about my misery. Once I shared about my 7-year old grandson getting runover and almost having his leg ripped off and shared about the horrific issues my nieces were experiencing, you made it a point to make sure everyone was comforted. My nieces truly needed your special treat tray and I enjoyed the special treats for myself as well. My grandson is still in the hospital a month later with additional surgeries pending. But, I am back in Florida. You exemplify excellent guest services for your company. Sincerely,

Yelp
Traveling through TX, my wife and I stopped in Galveston to visit the beach for a few days - May 23-25. Wasn't sure which hotel to pick but glad I ran across this gem. Staff was super nice and the room and accommodations were on point. Literally walking distance to the beach (across street). Even had a Tesla charging station for my Tesla EV. Will come back.

Yelp
So I'm in Galveston beach, Galveston TX. Came to the Hilton to have breakfast and very Disappointed. Ordered an Omelette ( hard to mess up).ordered ham, mushrooms and cheese( try finding the ham and mushrooms?). Never got my sourdough toast, only to have a manager come to me and finally( almost done eating) ask me what was the problem?. I was confused, now she was lost. Than asked is everything ok. I stated still waiting for my sourdough toast( she now states they don't have sourdough)? Asked for white bread toast and my friend is still waiting for his pancakes and I'm waiting for my coffee.. The toast ( bread) was so thin and like the buy cheap bread at the 99¢ store. Totally confused if your at the Hilton: shouldn't it be the Best and not Motel 6 short cuts.lol

Yelp
Do you like sleeping in an a high definition echo chamber? The newly-renovated Hilton rooms with the chilled wood-look porcelain flooring ensure that you will capture all sounds reflected off every angle. Speaking of angles, as you enter and exit the room and bathroom, do you like getting stabbed by light fixture corners? It's a room design from hell. Do you also like paying double the price from a year ago? Literally and figuratively bleeding your customers. But the staff is nice.

Yelp
Called in advance to reserve a pack and play. We had our own but they said they had us. I'm now here and have nowhere to put my kid. I'd give 0 stars. Worst customer service ever.

Yelp
I stayed here last weekend one night before our cruise was leaving. We checked in pretty late, but the process went by really quick. The room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that I think the mattresses need to be swapped out they were really lumpy. The AC in the room did not stay on. Luckily, it was a cool night outside. The hotel is really beautiful but you can see it's a little dated. Nice pool area. If you are going to spend more than one night, you should check it out. The breakfast buffet was really basic and I believe it was over price for the little items that was there. However, the staff on site was very welcoming and hotel is OK if you're only staying for the one night.

Yelp
Construction and maybe just have not gotten the right room. This is our second stay and it is Labor Day weekend. Hilton had sent an email asked if we would like to level up to an executive room for $40.00 extra per night. With extra amenities. We said YES. Upon checking in asked if we got it and were told yes...great view. We got to room on 2nd floor and saw scaffolding. For $750 two nights very disappointed.

Yelp
This place is very outdated. Tub was dirty. The worst part is being overcharged for parking. They had charged us for valet and standard parking. We get $15 dollar credit for diamond member and guest daily and only got one $15 credit. I think they hope people don't notice and get additional profit. This will be our last stay at this hotel for many reasons. The two stars are for the great ladies at the bar

Yelp
If I could leave 1/2 a star, you can bet your bottom dollar I would! When I checked in, I was told the phones are not functioning and to text the provided number should I need anything. I was also informed I would have to request room cleaning in advance. Okay, fine. I get to the room and find another message about the phones where I learn they will not even dial out 911. How is this up to code? When I opened the door to my room, I immediately noticed the broken/rusted out bottom of the AC unit, which was sticking out. Text the front desk, and all they did was shove it under the unit. A short time after maintenance leaves, I went to flush a dirty tissue in the toilet (since there was no trash bag in the trash can in the bathroom). 3 squares tops. I flush the tissue and the toilet clogs, and fills the bowl to the rim. Text the front desk again, maintenance comes again and unclogs the toilet. They leave dirty toilet water all over the floor. Thankfully I had sanitizing wipes with me. Later that evening, I'm laying in bed and notice something moving along the carpet. A cockroach! It ran off before I could try and kill it, no where to be found. Again, I text the provided number but no response this time. I allowed 20 minutes to go by before I walked down to the front desk and requested to speak with a manager. I spoke with Maggie, who assured me "it's normal to have cockroaches in the dry air climates, especially after it rains." She also said "I know it's unsanitary, but I just don't have any other rooms to love you into for the night. Maybe tomorrow I can". She offered to give me a partial credit back on the cost of the room for the evening, which I declined due to my employer paying for the room for a conference I was attending for the week. She then offered to comp breakfast for me and my travel buddy (in the room beside me) and assured me maintenance would come to my room to spray shortly. She also offered me a bottle of water, which I declined. While I waited, I searched for my new roommate some more, just in case. In my search, I found trash beneath the bed, dust caked in corners and on hinges. Maintenance finally arrives and tells me "they come out the ac unit all the time. I'm gunna spray this stuff, but it's strong, that okay?" I didn't really have another option, so that was that. Additionally, there's significant cosmetic damage in the elevator cars in the Tower, stains on the guest room floors, missing paint/shotty patch work on guest room walls, dusty hinges and dust on room decor etc. The tub looks dirty, and the bottom of the bathroom door is warped with peeling paint. When you text the front desk, responses take 15-20 minutes or aren't answered at all. To say I am disappointed with the quality of this Hilton is an understatement. I've been staying in hiltons all my life and never have I, nor my family, stayed in one with so many issues, especially within the first 8 hours. The staff did their best to assure me my issues with my room were valid and were nice enough, but the cleanliness of the establishment and the quality I have come to expect when staying at a Hilton was not there.

Yelp
Let's get to the cons first. Self Parking is $12. No garage. Or you can opt for valet. The parking can be tedious because there are two entrances. The lobby or the side by the pool. So unless you have valet or get lucky with front parking, lugging your belongings everywhere just requires extra distance. Our shower had luke warm water, not hot at all. The drain was also clogged, so when you are showering, your feet are taking a bath as well. The beds are uncomfortable. Outdated tvs. However, besides the cons our stay was okay. I just expected a little more from the Hilton brand.

Yelp
My stay was pleasant however my encounter with the Asian chef was little to be desired. While talking with the individual to be seated the young lady interrupted my conversation to address a spot of dirt on the floor. When I addressed her she looked at me as though I was deranged. I found her to be somewhat rude and unprofessional in her approach. In addition my salmon was overcooked. In my opinion she had overstepped her boundaries and should divert her attention to the kitchen. I've never encountered a chef outside the kitchen in other establishments.

Yelp
Public Tesla charging station. Employees are really nice. Will definitely return for a stay next time I come for a weekend trip to Galveston.

Yelp
The hotel is under construction, and amenities are minimal! They charge you $16.00 a day to park in their parking lot. They have one washer and dryer for the entire hotel. No breakfast is included with your stay, and it is not worth the money you pay for the stay.

Yelp
The main reason this is a 3 is because of the view. The view from our room was of the water and nearby restaurant, Rainforest Cafe. Also the pool is very nice and heated, with a hot tub. Other than that, I was not impressed. To start, the refrigerator is absolutely tiny. We ordered DoorDash and it will not even fit a standard styrofoam container in it. Only the small sauce size ones. So bottled waters are about all that you can store in it. There is NO microwave in the room. Not only the room, but not in the floor even. You have to go downstairs to use a community microwave. What the heck? The water pressure in the shower is terrible. It took like 15 minutes to get all the soap and shampoo off. Lol. Not that this is a make or break deal, but the first thing I noticed when I laid down on the bed was 'popcorn ceilings'. Is that even a thing anymore? Just kind of gives it an old vibe. Their soda vending machine doesn't have the card reader on it that I think most places have now. All I had was larger bills so I couldn't use the machine. So I went to the hotel restaurant and was charged like $4 for a can soda. So I was charged 3X the amount because it was a restaurant instead of a vending machine?!?! The vending machine is 10 years outdated. They do have free WiFi though. So there's that.

Yelp
It was terrible. We didn't get into our room until almost 1 in the morning. The front desk lady was very rude and yelled at us. We fought with the front desk trying to get our room for literally 2 hours and 40 minutes. Once we got our key and went to our room it was the wrong one. We went back down to tell them we got a room with 2 queens instead of one king and got yelled at again. Once we did get to the right room it was about 1:15 AM. I wouldn't be surprised if the people in the room after us found a body or something it smelled like something died in the room.

Yelp
If there was a ZERO OR MINUS I would have rated it that. Got here at 5:30 room was not ready PREMIUM OCEAN VIEW ROOM was the PARKING LOT! see video. Had to eat dinner in the Palm Restaurant and it took forever! we were the only 2 there! had to ask for food and it was brought out COLD!! Finally got to the room with the CRAPPY VIEW and decided just to watch tv in bed and NO REMOTE!!! WE ARE LEAVING TOMORROW

Jessica W.

Yelp
Peggy at the front desk was incredible And all of the staff has been really really thoughtful and sweet. We highly recommend staying here. We also like the galvez but the staff at the Hilton makes it our first choice for sure!

Yelp
Hotel food. Pretty simple menu. Appreciate the fresh and healthy menu options. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
My husband and I are staying here for the 4th-5th time and we have previously always loved it. This time we were met with an extremely rude employee by the name of Elizabeth. When my husband asked to upgrade the room (which was available on the app) she immediately denied his request and blamed it on a large group staying. He then told her he would ask me if this was okay (which I said it was fine, as the upgrade on the app that was STILL AVAILABLE was two queen beds instead of one king bed). He returned and told her that the room assigned was fine and her response was "I thought so" and then she proceeded to say "I assume you are self parking." When asked why she would assume that we could not valet she became flustered, but continued her rude responses. I have never experienced this sort of attitude as a Hilton rewards member. Very disappointed.
