They have pretty high quality things for such a small place. The pastries are beautiful. Brandy helped us and she had great recommendations and answered questions well. Super personal. And the pastries were incredible and exactly how she described them to be. Intend on coming tomorrow to try their coffee.

Definitely the go to place for dessert on Hilton Head! The mixed berry tart is our favorite and my kids love the chocolate croissants.

Our yearly trip to Hilton Head is always full of exploring new places and hunting for top-notch pastries. Hilton Head Social Bakery South Island was a wonderful surprise! My husband and I loved it so much that we made it our final stop on our last morning. The pastries are absolutely to die for — rich, fresh, and beautifully made. I loved them all but the strawberry and cream cheese brioche was probably my favorite. We even bought some tarts to enjoy later in the day. While they do serve lunch, we visited right when they opened for breakfast. The coffee was excellent, too. If you’re visiting Hilton Head, this bakery is a must. They also have a location in Shelter Cove!

This is an oasis for coffee lovers. I've been living in the USA for 5 months, and I've spat out more coffee than I can remember. Here, they serve real coffee, with plenty of options to choose from. The food is also incredible, super tasty and fresh. This is one of the best coffees I've had in this country so far. Congratulations! An absolutely recommended gem!

My wife and I came across this small French bakery after having lunch in the Sea Pines Resort at Coast dining by the Sea restaurant. This French bakery specializes in many different styles of tarts. My wife ordered a blueberry tart that had the largest blueberries on it I've ever seen. I ordered the Chocolate Lovers tart Rich chocolate face with silky chocolate mousse dollop on top in indescribably delicious and a Coffee flavored Eclair. Three coffee beans home the top of the eclair or actually chocolate, eclair was everything in eau Claire should be. The offerings were beautiful and varied most staff are very friendly and accommodating the bakery had a small butt will appointed dining area. This is definitely a must see for dessert if you're in the area

What a hidden gem! Delicious bakery right in the heart of Hilton Head Island. Everything we had reminded me of being in Paris! Very nice flow with TONS of desserts, pastries and savory quiches! I had the andouille sausage/veggie quiche (10/10), we had the banana bread pudding (can’t remember name), almond chocolate chip croissant, and three different lattes. The fave was the banana chocolate! Wow to everything! Amazing stuff. They have nice outdoor seating too and high chairs :)

Really great high end desserts. We tried the peach tart (great crust and filling), almond croissant (really crispy and a lot of chew, wish it had more filling though), carrot cake (fancy version, pretty mild spiced carrot flavor), Kouign Amann (very tasty and caramelized, but strong cinnamon flavor rather than strong butter flavor), and ultimate chocolate bonbon (very good but almost too rich). We tried the bacon potato quiche as well which was nice. Definitely come here

We stopped in on the first day for a couple of sandwiches and returned three times during in about six days. The entire menu is delicious and I recommend even what I have not tried. The favorites have been the classic fruit tart, blueberry and lemon citron, and the almond croissant. You're also always going to have me on your side if you put banana on the menu so a chocolate and banana croissant is at the top of my list. Phenomenal!

This is a Hidden Gem! If you are looking for a great bakery this is it! We picked up several pastries and brought them back to the house, they were fresh and flavorful. Oh yea, check out their breads! They do have seating inside if you want to eat there. As Arnold would say, I'll be back...

Really yummy, quick breakfast spot! We stopped in and grabbed a few pastries and coffees--a blueberry tart, chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, and iced dirty chai lattes. The croissants were absolutely fabulous--so buttery and flakey! The dirty chai lattes were great as well, but they do have a strong spice to them--just a heads up if you're not into that. Service was fast and friendly! The inside was super cute. Lots of seating and clean bathrooms. We would definitely go back!

Croissants were buttery and delicious. They had so many other pastries but we only tried a few. The chocolate almond croissant needed a bit more almond flavoring but was still tasty. Everything ranges from $3 and up.

This place is absolutely incredible. I've gotten many different things here and everything is fantastic! I recommend the sandwiches for sure - the smoked salmon croissant is unbelievably good as well as the omelette sandwich. When it comes to pastries, definitely try the blueberry citron tarte, the tiramisu, the hazelnut flower...they are all great. And the people are very nice as well. Don't skip this place!

We came here early on a Thursday morning and was surprised that some of the pastries were either already sold out OR had not yet been brought out to the display case. Although there were many staff present, it seemed as though they weren't coordinating well with each other. Aside from that (which is why my review lost a star), the food was delicious and fresh. The croissants were delectable on our smoked salmon sandwich and the caprese sandwich. Pastries were also good and held up even until the next day.

Ah, a French bakery! What a joy. First off I have a side comment. Coming from Michigan I find it "funny" that every place we go to has a full service bar here on HHI. Now I have not been to a fast food place but I would doubt thet they too have a bar. This place was very nice and clean. We got in just before the 10:00 AM rush. Since I already had a morning coffee I opted for decafe and it was full body flavorful. I started with an apricot scone thinking I was going to get a croissant. Either was it was delight to the palate. It was not "dry" but just the right sweetness. Then I decided to get the "bacon, potato, swiss cheese quiche. It comes with a small side salad and a cookie. Perfect snack before I went to play a round of golf at Bear Creek. I loved this place a will be making another visit before we leave. Which is tough because there are so many places to try.

My DH and I stopped in after reading reviews. We ordered unsweetened tea, a latte and 2 croissants. The service was good, choices exceptional as were the croissants. I gave it 4 stats because the eating area was filthy.

This little quinet bakery/coffee shop is my wife's favorite. The shop was decorated in a rustic decor with a modern flair. They offer an array of sweet delights. We had the crumb cheesecake, key lime brûlée and lemon tart. The staff was Friendly and welcoming.

My husband and I came here for breakfast, and we LOVED everything about it! We both got the Nutella croissant, and it was so delicious. I got an iced white chocolate mocha latte, and it was the best coffee I've had since we have been here on Hilton Head Island. The food and service both are great, and we cannot recommend this bakery more!! We plan to come back again before our trip is finished!

Quiche was good, packed with bacon and potato. So much that I missed the custard. Almond Blueberry croissant was great Would return

Fantastic food! The deserts the bread and the rest fantastic! The service.....better be patient. Lots of order takers and very few doers Cheesecake - Really good Ham Sandwiches on french bread..yummy Soup great Wait time....darn near 20 minutes for the above. Patience is not my virtue.

Back again because it's one of the few places that makes excellent lattes (says my coffee snob friend). Shared a delicious croissant as well. Waited on by Nicolas, whose French accent is as buttery as the croissants! He's quite the comedian too. Highly recommend this place!

This place just knows what they are doing. Went here twice on our recent trip and will definitely go back again. It was quick, convenient, and delicious. I ordered an almond croissant both times and it was great.

A quaint must visit, the vast array of french pastries and tarts is so overwhelming that we will have to come multiple times! Everything looks so delicious, but we got a chocolate croissant & fruit tart to start. I recommend skipping the lattes/espresso as it doesn't seem that quality and the syrup is basic low tier torani brand, so was a bit lackluster in comparison to how quality their food is. I assume a basic cup of black coffee would be worth it though! There was a long wait to be served but it was worth it and they have the cutest little outdoor table and chairs with a beautiful morning view of the harbour! *will return and update with pics* Update: upon return I was very pleased with a pistachio iced latte, such a unique flavor!

Yummy croissants. The coffee tastes similar to McDonald's and not like a coffee shop. Coffee shop prices though.

Food is good. Ambiance is mixed campground and picnic with friends you don't know. Service is strange. You'll know what I mean when you go. We've been here every few months over the years as a change up. Finding good bacon on the island is challenging. Hit and miss here but mostly hit. People drive, bike and walk in. Kind of a yuppie courtesy for manners mixed with kid lunchroom pushing mostly from the moms and dads. Definitely go to see if it suits you. Coffee is good. Prices are ok.

The coffee was very tasty my husband got a pastry. We will be stopping by on our way back home to take pastries back to in-laws

My croissants were not at all ALL THAT. Had a plain one n the other with cheese n ham and both equally not good. I'm convinced NY has the best bread. Maybe next time I'll try a pastry.

Wow! This place is amazing! They have a wide array of French pastries as well as sandwiches and have linzor tart cookies to go in various sizes. They also have a croissant candle which is adorable. Whoever is running this place definitely studied in France. This isn't your typical southern bakery. For example, they had pear frangipane, and it deliveried on taste and texture. The inside also has a super modern vibe with a beautiful middle eastern lamp among the exposed duct work and a motorcycle behind glass. The bathroom also has a special Dyson faucet that includes that hand dryer. It's definitely worth a stop here.

Croissants are amazing! Definitely recommend the ham and cheese croissant and chocolate banana croissant.

We stopped in for pastries on a Sunday morning for the first time recently. So glad we did! The dessert options they had in the first few cases looked amazing & will have to come back to try those. But we were here for breakfast. We ordered an almond croissant, a banana chocolate croissant, a chocolate croissant, a scone and the best of all....a kouign-amann. I don't see a lot of kouign-amanns anywhere & it was so delicious. Buttery with the crunch of the carmelized sugar. Everyone loved their pastry. This is a cute little bakery & everyone was very friendly. They gave us all a chocolate truffle to try at checkout - super rich & deliciously chocolate-y. We will definitely be back.

Wow Wow, best bakery on the island!! I had just returned from a trip to New York City and not even the bakeries up there compare. I was heading home to Georgia and the ladies even boxed up a nice box to keep everything cold!! If you skip on this special spot..you're missing out. Hands down, awesome yummy desserts and breakfast items!!

First visit to HH Social Bakery South and the food, service, or atmosphere was amazing. We had the cheese cake crumble that melted in your mouth. We discussed the strawberry rhubarb filling from another pastry and the host gave us a taste so that we could try the product ...yum ! The rest of the desserts look amazing and we noted that they have small sandwiches and salads that we will try next time. I am a Starbucks snob and was hesitant to try the coffee, but that too was delicious. We took a loaf of bread home too . Make sure you visit, it's worth the stop.

Exceptional French pastries. I was truly shocked how good they were. Big selection, and they don't run out at the end of the day, like some places in vacation spots. The service was also very friendly and helpful.

Meh... This place came highly recommended; we left highly disappointed. The pastries we got (Pecan Croissants, etc. ) were not fresh on a Saturday Morning)...tasted stale, hard, and very dry. My Wife's Tiramisu tasted (and I quote her) "like it came from a chain grocery store, and maybe not even from the bakery." The prices were about 40% higher than I expected, even for Hilton Head...and of course they asked for a tip at the register (really, to ring up an order). They still had a Enter / Exit COVID setup, which made ordering difficult since there was no room for people to maneuver to the exit. On a positive note, the atmosphere was bright and clean. I was sorely disappointed and will look for another place.

Ordered a custom cake from this bakery for a very important birthday celebration and could not have been more disappointed. Strongly urge you not to use this bakery for your custom cake needs. For a 60 dollar cake, we expected so much more. Honestly would have been better off purchasing a premade cake from a grocery store and having them write on it. The writing on the cake was absolutely illegible,, the cake itself was edible but nothing exciting. Overall could not be more disappointed.

Long line for a reason! Super popular bakery in Hilton Head Island. Got a quick chocolate croissant and my boyfriend got a regular croissant. There's a lot of options to choose from. The drip coffee is self-service but really good. I would recommend the bathrooms were unisex, as there was a long wait for each gender room. Ample seating area was appreciated!

A weekly stop on my must have list! Shocking to see anything but 5 stars across the board...all because of a line?? (Hey, there's a Panera for you down the street). My goodness! But anybody who values quality ingredients and outstanding presentation this is a must to try. I've order cakes from here - outstanding! (The strawberry was a huge hit among all!) And we have tried almost every pastry, cookie and bread and never less than perfection. We obvious have our favorites but I honestly believe you can't go wrong with any choice here, it's all personal preference...and there is a wide selection of choices to choose from. And everybody behind the counter is super helpful and friendly. One of my favorite places on HHI.

Was walking around shelter cove before I left the south and stopped into this adorable tiny bakery. They had pies, macaroons, and tarts! They've even got coffee based drinks as well. I picked up a key lime pie- which was $8. I also got two businesses cards! My mom absolutely loved the pie. This is a 10/10 from me!!

This place can be summed up in 1 word.. AMAZING!!!! The food, service, ambiance everything about this place is perfect!! We come here 2 out of the 4 days we were in town!! So delicious!!! Can't wait to come back on next years trip!!!

This place is the real dealThe best French bakery ever!!!! My husband and I were in Hilton head for 2 weeks and went there 4x!! We had 8 different desserts and loved every one. Staff friendly and patient (had a hard time choosing what to get ) So glad we had the chance to met the owner Philip to tell him how wonderful and delicious his Bakery was. This place is a MUST GO!! Does one come to the beach for pastries? No. But do you really need an excuse to enjoy quality pastries? Also no. I am and always will be a advocate for coffee within range of the ocean waves as many mornings as possible. Whether it be via my balcony or café or local restaurant, I want to smell the salty air and hear waves and seagulls as I begin the day. But what I had not found, within such a range of the sand and surf, was a place with delicious pastries. The kind of place croissants and cinnamon rolls are taken up a notch and tarts don't come in silver wrappers and placed in a toaster. Where espresso comes in a properly sized cup and lattes are flavored with house made syrups. So one fateful morning I leaned on the collective knowledge of Yelp and found the HH Social Bakery (well, this location-there are 2). When a business opens at 8 am and the line is out the door by 8:30 am, you know it's going to be good. I began pursuing the menu ahead of time, as this was our last day in the area. I had to order any and every thing my palette desired (and I did). The pain au croissant (chocolate), cinnamon walnut bun (with homemade molasses), apple orange tart, rhuby ganache, and a double shot of espresso. The presentation, behind the glass and upon arrival at your table, was like that of a baking show. White china plates, clean lines, vibrant colors, perfect complementary textures, and a sweet aroma the fields of Provence could only hope to aspire to. I will not continue to fuel your jealousy with descriptions of each scrumptious bite, but I will say this. In my dreams, much like a siren calling forth to the lonely sailors at sea, I hear these pastries calling me. And one day, hopefully soon, I will answer that call.

It's nothing like I have ever had at Hilton head. I will go back on Wednesday when they open back up. Best chocolate croissant EVER. Go there without hesitation.

I could eat there every day . Only had their baked goods and desserts not the sandwiches so that is what I am basing this review on . Service is great very sweet girls . The location I went to was in the marina beautiful beautiful area lots of restaurants and shops on the water . Loved it highly recommend.

Great spot for pastries, croissants and baguettes! For me, the best baguettes are in Paris, but since we are so far away, visiting Social Bakery is one step closer to France! Great spot to sit outside and enjoy lunch during cooler weather. There is plenty of parking as well.

Excellent baguette and a nice assortment of pastries but terrible coffee. Cappucino with milk was full of bubbles and the coffee was extremely weak. First time I had to through away a cup of coffee because it was too awful to finish.

I am so happy to see that you opened another location. We were recommended this cafe by an owner that we rented the house from a few years back. Since that date, we come to the social bakery every time we visit. usually multiples! I am so happy we tried it. My favorites are the almond croissant and the raspberry tart. Quick pro tip - the baked goods run out early! Generally if you come later in afternoon, it's the pastries and desserts. They have two locations. This one is great if you need so,e thing quickly in the way out of the island, the other is in a bay near the water. Very nice for relaxing with a view!

When we walked in l, they all stood there looking us weird, no greeting . like I did something wrong. I almost turned around a leave but I didn't. Pastry was fresh not too sweet. The girl messed up our order but she later fixed it!

Literally the best bakery we have ever been to! We were visiting the island and once we found this spot for breakfast we came back every morning. The croissants are amazing, my husband says they're every bit as good as ones he's had in Switzerland and France. The quiche is also amazing, coming from someone who doesn't typically like eggs! The best part though is the staff. They are kind, understanding, and always made my little girl feel special. Don't miss this spot on HHI!

We love this bakery! It's full of intricately made little desserts, most of which are perfectly sweet and all of which are very decadent. We got the chocolate bluff, fruit tart, banana bread pudding, and a chocolate lover's tart. They were all delicious (and beautiful!) We didn't stay long, but it looks like a great place to sit around with a drink and a book. We'll be back!
