Hilton New Orleans Riverside

After a long day of traveling, I was looking forward to my stay at Hilton Riverside. The location is good and the decor is nice. Upon entering my room, i was disappointed to find that it smelled like mildew and wet musty odor and cigarettes. The odor is really pronounced in the bathroom. The mildew musty smell is strong and bothersome. I called the front desk to see if I could change rooms but unfortunately, they’re sold out and have no other rooms available. They said they’d send someone from housekeeping to “deodorize” the room. Waited 15 minutes and no one came. I called the front desk again and they’d said they’d call housekeeping. I’m still waiting. It’s now 10pm and I can’t get ready for bed until housekeeping comes up. It’s now 10:31pm and still no housekeeping. Obviously, the staff at Hilton Riverside New Orleans don’t make it a priority to make their customers feel comfortable while away from home.

The entrance, downstairs bar/restaurant, and service desk were all very nice, and on brand with Hilton quality. However, the room was...lacking. I travel quite a bit and have stayed at many hotels at 1/2 the cost that had more comfortable rooms. The wall paper was peeling, the mattress old and sinking and left much to be desired if you enjoy sleeping through the night.

Beautiful hotel with great rooms. Had breakfast and dinner, both delicious. Had the oysters at Dragos, would recommend for sure. Miguel V. at the front desk was super friendly and understanding. We had a small set back when we checked out but he helped us, made it very easy.

This is a very typical convention centre hotel. The food in the hotel is limited to a couple of venues, most of which are fully locked up by 10 pm. Fortunately it is connected to a riverside mall of sorts, and there are lots of places to dine a short cab ride away. This building is not really connected to the convention centre, you have to duck out side at some point to get to the main hall. There is more to see in the Warehouse district nearby. The hotel is adequate, but only for business. Not much to do here for leisure. Situated between two parking lots and not quite at the river, the view doesnt have much to write home about. The rooms were clean, bathrooms adequate, and there was hot and cold running water, so that was great. Staff was friendly, if required.

We loved our stay at the Hilton Riverside! Joel was such a pleasant way to start our Hilton experience. He was so helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Service is such a huge part of hotel experiences and we were so happy to have Joel help us check in upon arrival. The rooms had an older style but it was still nice and clean. The only reason I'm docking one point is because we could hear a lot of noises through the night - not customers or people, but noises from the elevator, beeping noises, and other mechanical things. The location was great and very walkable.

Donavon the front desk clerk was unfriendly. Even though we had issues checking in to our room, he was not helpful and was not personable. We had to go to the Bell desk to get any direction. He cared less about helping us check in. I made this known to several people, I asked to speak to a manager, because I would not want a person working for me to treat someone the way he did. I spoke to a supervisor when I checked out to let her know what we experienced and she said she was sorry and would apply 3000 points to our future stay. Those point were not received, nor do I care because the whole point was to inform the Hilton of their service. Keep in mind, we traveled hours and provided a license, birth certificate and passport. The entire time, he never told us what was needed. He actually laughed when I provided my birth certificate saying he was doing his job. Yet, he never once mentioned what he needed from us. He was cold, gave zero direction and had no concern for my family to be in this hotel. If this is the Hilton’s way of service, we will not be back nor recommend anyone else.

This place is a joke. They double charged us for parking ($300 worth) and have been refusing to refund us the money despite providing them bank statements as proof of payment. I’m constantly rerouted to full voicemail boxes and circular email chains asking for the same receipts over and over again. This is infuriating. The rooms are quite dated and dusty. The TV in my parents room that was booked literally started exploding (electrical fire hazard). The mini fridges in the room were very loud. The food in general is not great, very overpriced for the quality. This place is not worth the cost. We won’t be staying here again

We almost didn’t select this hotel because of the pictures of the rooms on the website. You should consider taking down the old pictures. We enjoyed our stay at this location as we visited for the saints vs commanders game. Most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating but I must acknowledge Joel and Maxine for their exceptional customer service during the check-in process. The hotel is beautiful, rooms updated and clean. Dragos was amazing, breakfast buffet delicious. I don’t have a negative thing to say. This will be my go to hotel from now on when visiting New Orleans. Everything was walkable from this location and to top it off we won the game! Great job Hilton staff!
