Revamped Gaslamp Hotel Houses Garden-Themed Restaurant and Cocktail Bar | Eater San Diego

"Undergoing a $22.5-million transformation by Waldrop+Nichols Studio (whose work includes Rough Creek Lodge, La Playa Beach and Golf Club, and the Boston Omni Hotel at the Seaport), the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter has been renovated with a ’70s California chill vibe and updates that encompass 265 tower guest rooms, 30 loft suites, and 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space; the overhaul also paves the way for the new Wild Hare restaurant and bar." - Helen I. I stayed here for a week throughout a work conference. It was in a perfect location across from the convention center, and the front desk was friendly. The room was a decent size and reasonably comfortable. The one thing that could have been better was housekeeping. One day I left early and they still hadn’t cleaned when I came back at 2:00 PM for a meeting, so they didn’t service my room at all that day. The next day I had a meeting in the morning and apparently missed my chance again, because when I came back at 5:00 PM they hadn’t cleaned the room. But this wasn’t a big deal—they might have serviced the room if I called them about it.

Great location downtown by the bay. Clean rooms. Very quiet. Easy check-in and check-out. Warm atmosphere. Had a really good evening. Restaurant on site. Valet parking available for $65/day. A very large lobby to relax and see all the decorations.

The hotel was very clean, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the room was perfect. Great location, close to everything! The food and drinks at the restaurant was the best we’ve ever had. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend this hotel to San Diego travelers!!

Although my room was clean and the vallet guys were so nice, I am beyond upset with my experience at this Hilton property. I was overcharged for valet parking, charged for bottled water in the room that I did not drink, and worst of all, I was charged twice for one room for a one-night stay. I originally called because my $100 depost hadnt been returned which is when they said it was for the vallet and bottled water whiched totalled to $100.... CRAZY. Anyway I thought we got it all handled until i got a notification from my bank about an aditional charge. When I saw I was charged again for the room except this time the charge was even more what the room costed I than called multiple times trying to get answers, and no one could explain what was happening with my bill or even try to help me. Eventually, I spoke with a manager named Trevor, who finally admitted that the double charge was due to a "system error" (ya right) and claimed a refund had already been issued. However, it has now been a week since my stay and I still have not received any refund. Because of these charges, my account was overdrawn, and I was hit with an overdraft fee. This whole thing has costed me over $700 not including the overdraft fees that continue to charge you every day your account is over drawn. When I explained this to Hilton, I was told there was “nothing they could do, just wait and it will all balance out" and the only compensation offered was a few Hilton points, which is absolutely unacceptable given the financial stress this has caused. This situation could have been handled so much better, but the lack of communication, accountability, and urgency is shocking for a brand like Hilton. Being told to just wait while my bank account suffers is not okay. It also should have never happened in the first place and seems to be a common "error" for this location now looking at the other reviews. I would NOT recommend staying here at all unless you want to risk billing errors and unresolved charges and out of hundreds of dollars. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I am still waiting for my money to be returned.

Google
Great location between the Gaslamp district and the convention center. And the waterfront is just past that. This time I stayed in one of the loft rooms which was spacious and nicely decorated. Enjoyed their breakfast downstairs, tasty and healthy options. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Best Experience Thanks to Beck and the Hilton Gaslamp Team! After an Airbnb fiasco the night before my bachelorette weekend, I called the Hilton Gaslamp at 7am hoping to find somewhere for 10 girls to stay. Beck answered and was immediately so kind and accommodating — he helped us secure the best deal for three rooms and completely turned our day around. When we arrived, we were shocked (in the best way!) to find out he had upgraded us to presidential suites! He even left me a handwritten note and sent champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, such a thoughtful touch. Every staff member we met was wonderful, especially the valet team and Cody, who helped us unload all our bags. Our stay was truly amazing, incredible service, perfect location, and the kindest staff. Beck and the Hilton Gaslamp team made our bachelorette weekend unforgettable!

Been staying here for several years for TwitchCon weekend and it’s been literally perfect. Extremely clean place, the pool area is immaculate and the rooms are beautiful and usually have an amazing view. Requested a specific view this time around and they honored it. Also they have a texting system where if you need for example extra towels or utensils, they will send someone right up for any requests but through texting. Will continue to stay here from here on out. Also $25 for early check in……EXTREMELY WORTH IT!

This is a charming yet modern Hilton hotel situated on the edge of the Gaslamp Quarter, conveniently located close to a number of excellent restaurants and local attractions. Moreover, the staff is friendly, helpful considerate, and accommodating. Be sure to drop by the Wild hare bar and grill and enjoy a delicious, handcrafted cocktail from Lindsey, the best barkeep ever!

Yelp
My wife booked a room at hotel for our anniversary weekend of 08/08/25-08/10/25. After checking into our room on two occasions a person with a key entered our room. Not an employee but another guest in hotel. Luckily my wife was not in room alone. I complained to front desk and our room was changed into a room with a broken AC unit. I later complained to cooperate who advised an investigation would be perfidy to safety issues with people walking into our room. We have yet to hear anything back from cooperate so we were blown off. Will never stay at a Hilton again. Beware of this major safety issue with this hotel!

Yelp
FACT: this "wet rag" smell is usually caused by MILDEW or BACTERIA growth in a damp environment!!! I'm certain my lungs are not happy!!! Not staying here again!!! Outdoor appearance looked a bit worn down. My window view was dirty!! Not exaggerating when I say the window view was cloudy. The hotel could use a paint job and some rust removal. I have realistic standards but the outdated furniture and electronic charging outlets were a letdown for the price. The walking distance to Petco Park was convenient. Staff were overall respectful. My primary complaint is the smell of the room! It wasn't a one time thing. The three days I stayed there, the smell was prominent. It smelled like old wet rags! I could not narrow down the cause of the smell. I checked every corner, sniffed every piece of clothing, moved every piece of furniture! The smell was strong! I would leave the room to enjoy the outdoors. As soon as I returned, that wet rag smell was strong!! Could be the air conditioner filter not being cleaned out replaced...could be the bathroom!!! Ugh not happy!! This ridiculous urban destination fee, along with many other absurd fees, should be used to get rid of this mildew/bacteria stench!!! AGAIN....FACT: this "wet rag" smell is usually caused by MILDEW or BACTERIA growth in a damp environment!!! I'm certain my lungs are not happy!!! Not staying here again!!!

Yelp
While I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Gaslamp, it does have some challenges that push it away from being a 5 star Hilton Experience. Positives: Amazing location right in the heart of the San Diego but you still feel safe. Got upgraded as a Diamond member to an awesome room which doesn't happen often domestically. Great views and some great service throughout the hotel. Negatives: Insanely overpriced. You will usually see Waldorf level rates for a standard Hilton property that has less amenities than many other Hiltons. Valet was a mess when we were there and there is no self parking option. Rooms could use an upgrade, especially at this price. Service was just OK - no warm and welcoming feeling from any staff we encountered. Overall it was a good stay and we would return with reasonable rates.

Yelp
This is review ONLY for "Le Petit Chef" immersive dining experience affiliated with Hilton Gaslamp during its San Diego limited engagement. It is located on ground floor of Hilton Gaslamp. Parking is tough in Gaslamp area so if you decide to valet at Hilton, let them know you are going to Le Petit Chef and with validation, you will be charged a $30 rate for 3 hours (as opposed to $60 without validation)! When we first arrived, we were greeted with glass of champagne. We are seated at tables with white table cloths beneath ceiling projectors. Despite whether you ordered the vegetarian menu, the Classic menu or the Grand menu, the Petit Chef projection clips are based on the Grand menu (showing him making the salad course, lobster bisque soup course, lobster course, filet course and finally the cream brûlée course). The clips are approximately 2 mins each showing how Le Petit Chef makes each dish before it is presented to you, as a real dish. There is a brief intermission break between the 3rd and 4th courses. The price is expensive but it is definitely an unique immersive dinner/ show experience.

Yelp
| Gorgeous Views Can't Make Up for the Inconvenience The Hilton San Diego Bayside in the Gaslamp District has some standout features--most notably, the stunning view from a high floor room. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a breathtaking panoramic view of the Bay that made it hard to leave the room. Watching the sunset over the water was an unforgettable experience and easily the highlight of the stay. However, the rest of the experience fell short of expectations, especially for a property under the Hilton umbrella, and even more so one associated with Waldorf branding. Parking was the first issue. I purchased self-parking in advance, only to find the ticket machine broken. This forced me to use valet, which wasn't just inconvenient--it became a costly problem. Once in valet, I was told I'd need to "fight for a credit" myself. Worse, the valet came with a $75/night fee that kicked in the moment the keys were handed off. Not exactly a smooth or guest-first experience. The room's aesthetics were another letdown. Despite the gorgeous view, the furnishings felt dated and cheap. Cords and wires were messily strewn about, and the blackout shades were broken, allowing harsh light in both late at night and at dawn. Sleep wasn't easy to come by, not least because of the Murphy bed--which was not just squeaky or uncomfortable, but included an actual bar (yes, a metal bar!) that made it one of the worst sleeping experiences I've had in any hotel. Repeated attempts to resolve these issues with the front desk and concierge went nowhere. I contacted staff on three separate occasions, and each time I was told someone would address the problems. No one ever came. No follow-up. No resolution. That kind of disregard doesn't align with the level of service one expects from a Hilton property--especially one marketed with luxury in mind. Overall, the view was unforgettable, but nearly everything else was forgettable or frustrating. With a few operational and service improvements, this could be a top-tier stay. But as it stands, three stars feels generous.

Yelp
This is a modern, vibrant, well-located hotel right across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. There are many amenities and services, the restaurant was great, and our family enjoyed staying there. However, the beds in our fifth floor room were very saggy, and we all came away feeling sore. Check with the hotel staff to see if the bed in your room has been updated before you book!

Yelp
This is review ONLY for the Le Petit Chef experience affiliated with Hilton Gaslamp The experience itself is located on the main floor to the left of the Wild Hare bar. They offer discounted/validated valet parking for $30 normally $60 We were greeted with glass of champagne and Gingerale for the kids. The tables were white with projectors in the ceiling above. The video clips are based on the Grand menu. He makes a salad, lobster bisque soup, filet Mignon and creme brulee. Each clip is about 2 min long. The salad tasted good, the lobster bisque didn't have much lobster and had 1 clam, 1 muscle and 1 tentacle. The filet Mignon was tender but the plates were all very hot, probably from sitting under a heat lamp. The Creme Brulee was very good. There is a short break between the 3rd and 4th courses. I knew the advertised price based on my reservation and deposit I paid ahead of time. What I did not know or expect was that there was going to be an overly expensive "service charge" of $90. We had a great time and enjoyed our food but at the end of our meal the "system crashed" and we waited almost an hour to get our bill. We were not offered any kind of discount or anything for the inconvenience and we were left there just waiting. The overall experience was cool but for the price and inconvenience we encountered we will probably not do it again.

Yelp
Courteous check-in. The building is weirdly designed. The front desk is on the far side of the hotel entrance from the elevators. My room was nice but the entire main building is ready for a refresh. Valet parking is mandatory, expensive, and slow. The lobby bar closes early. My room was not serviced one day. I had the do not disturb sign on the door between 12:00 and 12:30pm while on a Zoom call. Apparently, Housekeeping came by that particular 30 minutes and never came back.

Yelp
I stayed here while attending a conference at the convention center - with that respect, this location can't be beat! It was sooooo convenient to be able to walk across the street and come back to my room so easily. Also close to a TON of food options. Starbucks is around the corner which worked great for me. I ate at the hotel bar several times and the food and staff there were amazing! The food was great and mon-fri they have happy hour from 4-6pm for 50% off drinks. My room itself felt pretty clean and I was on a corner which was nice - but there was a smell of sewage coming from the bathroom and whenever I turned the water on, and several TV channels did not work. I asked for the tv to be looked at, it worked for that evening, then the next day, no such luck. Was really easy to uber to the airport (15 min). Overall this is a great spot if you're attending a conference! And I would return if I ever end up needing to go to the convention center again.

Yelp
Overall, enjoyed my week stay here during my husband's conference. The rate we got included meals (specific menu items most of which were breakfast) and daily bike rentals which I took advantage of by going to Balboa Park, the riverfront, to go get ice cream, to sightsee around town, and to take with me on the water taxi over to Coronado to ride around there. Because we flew in and ubered so we didn't have to worry about parking, but I saw that there's only street side and valet around, so if you have a car, it might be harder for you. Due to the location, I was within walking or biking to almost anything that I wanted/needed. The on-site restaurant didn't have many vegan options but I was able to have avocado toast and a salad, both were decent for what they were. I also had a couple of tasty mocktails at the bar. The room we got was a corner room lower floor. I enjoyed people watching from the window. We normally have a higher floor when staying in Hilton's, but we booked too close to the event. The room and facility was clean and well cared for overall. The only issue I had was that about halfway through our stay the water bottle refiller went out of order.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel near Petco Park. Central to cool restaurants and the trolley line. Easy drive to airport. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Hilton hotels tend to be awesome and this one in Gaslamp is just flawless. I recommend it to my friends visiting Comic Con or other events that take place around downtown. I went again these past days to take fun photos of the rabbit art collection that decors the hotel and especially the terrace. So original and adorable. You can also stay at the Lofts area, more like studios and separate from the rest by the big terrace. I have not tried yet the revamped restaurant, next time! Love the art and style.

Yelp
Just stayed one night for a quick getaway and to attend a Padres game. Check in was easy. Took a minute to find our room but quickly got help from an employee. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The location was perfect for our plans. We didn't utilize any amenities but would love to go back and stay longer.

Yelp
Unless you're looking to be walking distance from the stadium, or if you want to specifically walk down through Gaslamp, this is a challenging location to be based out of if you're in town for work/meetings. Parking is valet only - no self park available. Very expensive, but at least they give you in-and-out privileges. Staff was decent. They ended up having issues charging the room to the corporate account/card despite it being on file, which I'll have to end up fixing on the back end. Rooms are OK - overall modern and renovated. Some of the seating is uncomfortable and not amenable to laptop/mobile work. Bar/restaurant downstairs looked promising and friendly with decent options.

Yelp
Great hotel! In the middle of everything. Would definitely stay her again. Room was very clean and customer service was excellent. Kids used the pool which overlooked the convention center. We enjoyed it very much. Came for a concert at gallagher square and was walking distance. Only negative is the pricey $50/day valet only parking fee in addition to the night rate. There is no self parking at the hotel.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great restaurant, nice spacious and clean room. Stayed in the "loft"everything was modern and up to date. The bed was extremely comfy. I would say this hotel is above average for the overall "Hilton "brand properties, which are usually older and outdated.
google avatar

Yelp
Simple, modern and bright! Great hotel! I'm not a fan of Hilton hotels as they usually have very soft pillows that resolve when you rest your head and blankets that should be called sheets, but this location was perfect! I had such a good nights rest! I stayed at this location for a work trip and the location was perfect in the heart of the Gaslamp area across the street from the convention center and a block away from the ball park. Easy access to public transportation as the train was across the street. The decor was very cute with rabbits everywhere. The rooms were spacious modern with the decor and fixtures. My room over looked the court yard so there wasn't much noise at all. There was a fridge which was fairly larger than most hotels personal fridges but no freezer or microwave. The service was great very friendly front desk assistants. I can understand how the drop off and pick up of an uber would be a tad difficult as the entrance is on a curved street that is confusing. Overall I'd definitely recommend this Hilton.

Yelp
This hotel is incredibly convenient to the convention center. The room is nice and the windows open. The terrace area is lovely and we attended a nice event there. The staff are all very helpful and pleasant.

Jhandra R.

Yelp
My husband and I are currently staying at this hotel and our room is literally falling apart. When we checked in the room was missing 4 lightbulbs. We notified the front desk the next morning and they replaced the bulbs while we were out. Unfortunately the reason there were no bulbs is because the switch is broken. Now that there are bulbs you can't turn off the lights without disassembling the lamps. Also the sliding door to the balcony won't lock and they don't have the part to fix it. And the worst part is the front desk/manager never responded after my husband asked to speak to them.

Coleson N.

Yelp
If I could do zero stars I would. I booked this hotel online for a concert, in the booking process I made it clear I was coming from out of town and would need to check in early, the day before the booking I called and made sure that I would be able to check In early the next day, upon arrival I had gone online and gave a 4 hour notice that I would be checking in early. I arrive at the hotel with my room still not ready, then forced to wait 3 hours waiting to check in. Needless to say I will never be coming back.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in Eric greeted me. He was super easy to talk to and really knowledgeable. Check in was a piece of cake. Since I am celebrating my birthday in San Diego, he gave me a free upgrade and two free drinks. He didn't tell me what kind of room he upgraded me to, but as soon as I stepped foot in the room it was nice. You can tell they renovated this hotel from the last time I was here. We got a corner 1 bedroom suite. The decor is very nice and new. Looks like a modern 70's look. This Hilton is literally in the Gaslamp district, walking distance from all the shops/bars and restaurants. Definitely prime location! This is why I love being a Hilton Honor member. They treat their members amazing! Thank you again Eric for making my weekend even better! I will definitely be staying here anytime I'm in San Diego.

Yelp
We stayed here because of its walking proximity to many of the Gaslamp Quarter restaurants and although they were going through renovations, the construction was hardly noticeable. THE HILTON SAN DIEGO GASLAMP QUARTER FEELS | The hotel has 265 guest rooms and 30 loft suites located next door. There's an outdoor space between those two buildings with patio seating, oversized checkers and chess boards, corn hole boards, and a succulent garden contained in a mobile wagon platform. The hotel lobby is small with the front desk located steps away from the valet parking booth. Rooms have been newly renovated with beautiful furnishings and a color palette reminiscent of California beach vibes. I love the marble bar height desk and chair; perfect for those (not I) who need to bust their laptop out and work. THE FOODS | Their restaurant was closed for renovations during our stay in May 2023, but as of June 2023, the Wild Hare opened up its doors to the public. It's a new restaurant and garden-themed bar led by executive chef, Emiliano Sotelo, which I hope to try out next time I'm in the area. THE PARKING SITUATION | Only valet parking is available and runs about $60 a night. When we arrived on a Wednesday around 6 PM, valet parking was completely full and re-directed us to a parking structure (Ace Parking) two blocks east of the hotel, right next to Petco Park. I believe we paid $35 a day. The only inconvenient part about parking a few blocks away from the hotel was lugging around two suitcases. However, you can probably drop off your passenger and luggage at the hotel before going out to park somewhere else. THE RESERVATIONS | We booked a month in advance without any issues through the Hilton app. Remember to have your Hilton Honors card when you make the reservation to earn points. WOULD I COME BACK? | Yep. Love the renovations done and I really like the location.

Yelp
I LOVED my stay here. The room had a lot of natural lighting and a nice balcony. Service was very friendly and the hotel has a lot of great things to do around it. The rooms were very clean and the valet was very timely. My only negative was the fitness center. It was missing some of the weights and would've been perfect if it had a cable press like the other Hiltons.
google avatar

Yelp
everything was great stayed 4 night the issue is that I payed almost 2 extra night of parking fee in there lot over $200.00 dollar i can see a fee but $50.00 dollar a night when your spending your hard earn money

Yelp
This is by far the most unkind hotel that I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to visit. My disabled husband and I booked 2 night's Saturday the 20th Sunday the 21st checkout on the 22nd. When we first arrived our thermostat was not functioning we went to ur properly called maintenance and they promptly fix the issue. So that was good. But with the maintenance man got there he went straight to the furnace with a filter which I found weird because the issue was with the thermostat having a low battery, it felt like they sent somebody up to touch things to make you believe they're doing something when really nothing was done. My partner and I are a little extreme and personality and appearances but discrimination knows no bounds. We went to Urban Mo's for a great brunch on a Sunday afternoon pawn returning went up to a room hung out that's that decided to order a pizza. Enjoy some room service we ordered a $40 pizza with extra sauce. And then when we receive the pizza there was literally no sauce like I mean none at all I'll include a picture below. I called the front desk and spoke with room service and let them know I was dissatisfied I would still like some sauce I mean how can you mess up a pizza it's bread sauce and cheese how can you forget the sauce especially when you ask for extra omg. When it arrived perfectly playing with nothing to say no sauce at all I called the front desk and ask to speak with room service. Once I reach room service I explained to them the situation and they apologize and said they would bring more sauce. But I wanted somebody to know how bad they messed up by not putting any sauce on a pizza and ask to speak with the manager because obviously, the manager was so freaking rude unapologetic and pompous he acted as if I didn't know what pizza supposed to freaking look like

Yelp
Great location, within walking distance of a variety of eateries and entertainment, venue is newly renovated, smells of fresh paint and appears relatively clean, however, I gave it 4-stars because we were disappointed to find a beer can in the closet (left behind from the previous guest). And the only available parking is valet @$60 a day, it can start to add up very quickly with tips if taking personal vehicle out in the city beyond Gaslamp District. With that said, the staff was incredibly nice, from the front desk, to valet, and housekeeping staff, every single person we met was incredibly friendly.
google avatar

Steven W.

Yelp
Located directly from the convention center in the Gaslamp quarter, this Hilton got a nice renovation. Very close in walking distance to all restaurants and bars/clubs along with the convention center and Petco Park. We had a 1 bedroom suite with a beautiful decor and two gigantic TVs along with a small patio, fridge, and safe. I enjoyed the layout but found the ceilings to be slightly low so it made it feel smaller. Certain parts of the room were carpet while others were old school tiles. Left side of the bed was missing or seemed to be missing a night stand so they had a table instead. The toilet seat was extremely loose. Shower pressure was very good and bathroom was nice. Comfortable bed and room, location is great and felt safe. They charge valet parking of $60/night.

Yelp
Started out fine. Manager kindly helped me check in early. $20 extra cost nbd.. Disappointed they don't provide complimentary coffee at least? $5! ... I'll go to Starbucks next door.. I was on the second floor, no key access or elevator needed to get to my room. I ordered DoorDash cause the parking situation. The Manager refused to let the delivery driver simply walk up the stairs to set my order by my door. I had to walk down to the lobby barefoot in front of other guests present. So embarrassing and unnecessary. I don't understand why this particular Hilton is so against customer service. Hate leaving bad reviews like this but it was very irritating a simple task couldn't be completed correctly after working an exhausting two days.
google avatar

Yelp
No accountability, ignores calls and emails. Was charged a smoking fee for a "scent" in the room. Housekeeping manager wanted to be petty because we checked out late and was visibly irritated.Never smoked once in any Hilton I'm a family loyalty member so I would never do such a thing. The bathroom fan does not work and there is poor ventilation in the room and tried to bring that to their attention but I've been ignored just so they can take an extra $250 dollars from me. Will not be back and will be contacting corporate. Thanks

Yelp
Great experience for the most part. Cleanliness, friendly staff, and great proximity to Petco Park. Check in was easy, Stephanie made checking in a breeze. Hotel room was nice and clean. Surrounded by a good environment from the lobby to the room, very well lit place. One thing to note, although they are not part of the Hilton company, the "ProPark" valet staff are not welcoming whatsoever upon both arrival and departure. Took no iniative to greet me as I arrived, I sat there lost until I had to be noticed to be approached. Upon pick up of vehicle, I tried to give my ticket to the valet attendant and he had an unpleasant attitude.

Jim K.

Yelp
You've got to admire them! They'll ding you every single way they can. Now it's a $37 mandatory charge upon checking in. They call it an Urban Destination Charge LOL. And another confusing line item on my bill about a separate $15 destination charge which I still didn't understand. Utterly beyond belief and of course it's not disclosed when you book on the Hilton app. Nicely hidden till you check in. Some bright spark must have come up with that idea in the last "How do we price gauge the customer still further" strategy meeting in the boardroom. Then follows about 6 additional taxes. It's absolutely ridiculous. And watch out for anyone collecting you by car. An unbelievable $25 for the first hour parking. I've stayed there multiple times over the years but I'm not staying there again. Just price gouging their customers.

Yelp
Rooms were lovely, but there was room for a queen sized bed but they only had full beds. Besides that they were very nice rooms and bathrooms with a very good location. Food in the lobby was nice but had 50-50 service. Overall, it's a nice hotel with a good location and spacious rooms, but if you are looking for large beds this is not the place.

Yelp
Great weekend at the Hilton Gaslamp! This hotel is in a great location, only two blocks to Petco Park, numerous restaurants/ bars and the convention center. Valet is the only nearby parking option for 60. per night. The hotel is really nice, updated, has a great bar and restaurant. We had breakfast one morning at the restaurant and it was fresh and delicious. Service was quick and friendly, I'd say prices seem to be about average for eating out, 20.00 per entrée and there is a buffet option. Our room was spacious, bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was roomy enough for two to get ready,if needed. The area outside is really busy at night with foot traffic and music blaring neon pedicabs, but we couldn't hear the noise from our room on the third floor. We will definitely stay here again for any trip to the San Diego area and highly recommend Hilton Gaslamp. Enjoy!

Yelp
I stayed here for one night while visiting the area since it is walkable distance from the nightlife in the area. Cons - the parking is valet only but there is a parking structure just two blocks over. The bathroom shower doors in my suite didn't block any of the water so it ended up leaking all the way out to the carpet of the bed. Pro - concierge is very easy to get ahold of and getting in and out of the building is super easy. Considering this is near all of the nightlife, having locked building doors with key entry was useful and the games on the second level were a nice touch.

Yelp
I liked the hotel. Staff was great. Room was great. Bed was perfect. But $58 bucks a night to park in a hotel you're spending $250 a night to stay at? That one kind of surprised me. Make sure you are ready for an extra $60 per night to have your car parked

Yelp
Upon entering the lobby I was greeted with a vibrant scene accompanied with fun music and a pleasant smell. The front desk people were very friendly. The hotel is newly remodeled throughout. Check out the bunny statues and outside court on the T floor. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The beds are comfy providing great rest. Also you are in walking distance of everything!

Yelp
Wondering why this place has such low ratings. My family & I stayed here this past weekend & we definitely enjoyed our stay. It was my kids first time staying at a nice hotel & they absolutely loved it. After getting back from our engagements, I took my family out to explore Gaslamp strip. They definitely enjoyed! The only downside I would say is the street parking or valet. This hotel doesn't have a designated parking garage/space for guests. It's either you valet or you a parking garage or street parking. But the valet folks were also great! So I can't really complain about them at all. Lol. Overall, enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic hotel! So close to the convention center and all the restaurants and entertainment in the Gaslamp District. The best part of the hotel is definitely the staff. So welcoming and available for anything you need. Was there on business and the conference room and meal staff were fantastic. Highly recommend for business or pleasure.

Yelp
Stayed at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter this week for a conference, and was please with just about everything. I did the mobile check-in and my room was ready when I arrived around 3pm. I headed right up to my room as I had the digital key, and it was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. I used the gym during my stay, and I must say, it was extremely small and underwhelming. There are 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, and a handful of free weights. Once 6am rolled around and more people headed down, there was not much space or equipment for that matter for people to get in a solid workout. My other minor issue was with checkout. Several people in my group were able to secure late checkout, but when I called at 7am on departure day, I was told the hotel was completely committed for the day and had to be out by the 11am deadline. I was only asking for 1 additional hour and was told no. I was told this despite my gold Hilton honors status. Overall, I had a nice stay, and when in the area again, I will probably stay at this downtown San Diego hotel.

Yelp
The location is 100% gold. Carry me if I have to walk another two blocks to the Bayfront Hilton from downtown. We booked our party a loft on the third floor overlooking the Gaslamp area on one side and the unsuspecting Hilton patrons basking in the patio on the other. The loft itself consists of a king sized bed and a pull out sofa bed, with sheets available in the closet. We asked for fluffy blankets the second night (as well as extra shampoo and towels) and the service here is prompt and excellent! I would, however, put up the "do not disturb" sign at night if you don't make a habit of waking up before 8:30am. The bathroom was spacious with a hot tub, windows to the living room area, a floor to ceiling shower (with the slowest water), and a toilet room with walls a bit too thin. We ladies loved ALL of the mirrors! Then the next time, we got a junior presidential suite with veranda-like doors separating the king and the living room. I got to sleep on the comfy roll-away bed while others were on the sofa couch, and still others were cramped up on the king bed. The room was beautiful, overlooking the pool and sidewalks, with huge windows and tasteful yellow decor. There was a chair I was especially partial to and sat reading on it for a good while. The fitness room is on the second floor in the same building as the front desk and breakfast area. It consists of treadmills, an elliptical, baller weight machines, exercise balls, yoga mats, free weights and so forth. It was well stocked. Right outside are the jacuzzi and pool overlooking more of the Gaslamp scenery. The breakfast buffet runs a bit steep for what you get: oatmeal, fruits, muffins, cereal, coffee, potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, and omelets, with the omelets being the most fancy nibble. The service is top-notch and their little tables are fun to sit at! If you are dining with a TV addict, there are big screen TVs for your viewing pleasure. Overall the only con I saw was the valet prices. There are cheaper options in garages around.

Yelp
This newly reopened hotel has been completed renovated and the rooms, lobby, bar area and restaurant are really stunning. The lobby has been completely redone, and is open and spacious, and very luxurious. You can have a lot of fun trying to find the 20 different hidden rabbits - the gaslamp, and are stocked with the latest amenities including wireless charging for your phone. I highly recommend having drinks in a meal downstairs. Chef Emilio has completely redone the menu - it's his passion on a plate - you'll find ceviche, poke, pappardelle and octopus. Some of the best quality ingredients we have access to in San Diego. And of course the location is spot on perfect. They're located right next to the Gaslamp sign, the entryway into the area.

Yelp
I stayed here for Comic-Con and didn't get the quality of service and benefit that the price and Hilton brand suggests. Reservation: I has requested to adjust my reservation for 1 night due to being sick with covid and needing to change my work schedule, and was unable to make any changes because that was "Comic-con policy". I was forced to stay all 5 nights or risk a no-show and be charged anyway. Wrong room type: I originally made this reservation through OnPeak Comic-Con reservation system. I was given a 1 Bed - Double Occupancy room, which required a deposit equal to two nights' room rate plus tax. When I arrived to check in I was given a 2 Bed room, which was not what I had originally reserved and paid for. No explanation/price adjustment given. My Honors membership preference also lists a room that is not close to the elevator, and the room that was available was right next to the elevator. Food quality: I understand that the traffic at Comic-Con requires scaled down food options in many restaurants. However, the Hilton Wild Hare restaurant kitchen was closed for their typical lunch & dinner menu throughout my stay. They had replaced their regular menu with Comic-Con fast-food options instead. Some of these items on the menu were unbelievably overpriced, basic, and low quality given Hilton standards. I was thoroughly disappointed by this, and comparable to an elementary school cafeteria. Wi-Fi: Honors member wi-fi was not working throughout the stay. I received instructions to use the provided password for the Hilton Honors network, and was unable to connect in order to work from the hotel throughout my stay. Additional charges: was charged $120 directly to my account the following day after checkout. No explanation to what this charge was for. I have filed a dispute online through my bank. Overall, the convenience and location was amazing for Comic-con weekend. The staff and cleaning crew were lovely as well. However, given the non-flexible high rate of $300+/night plus tax & miscellaneous fees to stay here, the issues with the room and reservation, wifi, and cheap food made this stay far less enjoyable.

Yelp
me and my boyfriend went to the le petit chef to check it out and try it for the first time. we both ordered different meals and WE BOTH GOT FOOD POISONING !!! I got the vegetarian meal and he got the classic le petit chef meal. Additionally, we made a 60$ deposit for a reservation for the meal, and by the end of it, the bill was $350!!!! FOR 2 MID MEALS!! portions were SMALL! 18% SERVICE CHARGE ADDED TO BILL! AND you're not eating on YOUR time, you're eating on everyone else that's in the room's time, so if you had plans after this meal (3 hours) CANCEL THEM

Yelp
The hotels lobby is aesthetically pleasing, the hare theme is cute. My guy and I came here as a getaway over Labor Day wknd. We requested an early check in as our flight arrived early. We were told we could be accommodated, well after four hours of waiting in the lobby and the front desk person being snippy and rude we decided we would not ever visit this location again. We had a higher expectation of Hilton, while we waited the four hours we encountered a bathroom that was unkempt with baby diapers strewn in the corner of one stall, overflowing toilets. The bar staff were not friendly. We enjoyed how walkable the area was. We will not be visiting and wouldn't recommend until the quality of this hotel improves.

Yelp
Brought back some childhood trauma but I hope that the issue is resolved after I reported it

Yelp
Great location. Stayed here after a holiday party last night. The location can't be beat if you're going out in the Gaslamp Quarter. My time here was short, but pleasant. My room and a room next to ours had an additional door before entering the hallway. Perfect to keep noise out of fellow guests. However, the noise from the street is a little unbearable if you're a light sleeper. You are, in fact, staying in a party district. I'd stay here if you're going out in the Gaslamp Quarter and want convenience, but maybe ask for a room Convention Center side or bring earplugs. Also had a drink at the New Leaf Bar downstairs which was quaint and convenient. Would stay here again.

Yelp
It is my birthday weekend and my significant other surprised me. We stayed here for a night. Easy check in and check out. It is located in the heart of the city where the trend is. Restaurants are within walking distance. Valet is pricey though so we parked somewhere else cheaper.
