Hilton San Francisco Union Square

The downtown San Francisco views from the rooms are truly exceptional, especially at night and in the morning. The staff were generally friendly and accommodating. The gym is a notable highlight, offering a spacious workout area. While the hotel's decor leans towards a classic style, it's well-maintained and clean.

Just don’t book here. If I weren’t being forced to stay here by my company, I would’ve actually just switched hotels when I arrived. Unfriendly front desk service accompanied by an absurdly large line to check in (it’s a very big hotel). Overly crowded lobby with lots of conference attendees so you can barely hear yourself think. Incredibly outdated room with torn mattress covers, tiny weird bed pillows even though it’s a king bed, and an awful bathroom (tiny sink barely bigger than an airplane sink and a shower that needed to be regrouted 15 years ago). I woke up so many times to noises from the hallway because you can hear everything. Old elevators. And of course the worst of it: the area is rough as soon as you go outside. Like to the point where I didn’t feel safe walking a few blocks at night to a bar. The 2 best things: they require a hotel key to go up the elevators (thank goodness) and the TV in the room is pretty decent. Avoid.

I’m rating the location really low because it’s on the edge of the Tenderloin. We saw a lot of seedy activities and too much human waste on the streets surrounding the hotel. So beware. The hotel itself was clean and seems to be a huge hub for professional conferences. The rooms were clean and housekeeping always had the room back to mint condition when we returned from our daily outings. The pillows were too soft and had no firmness — you have to turn it on its side in order to avoid flattening it. The hot water in the shower was very hot — just the way I love it!! Rooms were quiet — didn’t hear a peep from our neighbors.

The location is great, easy access to so many amenities during the day. After dark is a different story - ton of unhoused people and drugs on the streets around the hotel - get an UBER after dark! The staff here were exceptional! Friendly, knowledgeable, and unbelievable customer service! The gym, pool and hot tub were decent - well kept. Now for the not-so-great stuff - the room we stayed in was in tower 1, on the 40th floor. We paid a lot of money to upgrade our room for the view - and the view did not disappoint. However, the room was not clean, it was dusty, dated, damaged, run down. The grout was stained, hair on the tile, towel hook was not attached to the wall, ceiling vent fan had obvious drywall damage, the dresser was chipped/scratched, fridge was dusty beyond belief, tons of garbage behind the desk (from more than a few guests). The view, the location and the staff are definitely great points, but when you're spending 50-60% of your time in a room that is both expensive AND dirty, you may want to look at more economical options with higher cleaning standards.

Love the hotel, the staff and the location. Coming here frequently but the water pressure in rooms in tower 3 on level 17 and 18 is just absurdly LOW. Takes ages to take a shower and rinse off shampoo/ shower gel. Water pressure certainly isn’t a problem since toilet tank fills quickly, so my guess is that’s it’s reduced on purpose. I’d love to see a higher water pressure in the shower, doesn’t have to be like a pressure washer, but standing under the shower and feeling like someone’s spitting on you isn’t very pleasant. Please Hilton SF increase the water pressure, thank you.

Stayed at the Hilton Union Square for a weekend visit. This is one of the largest hotels in the city and does a lot of conventions. Rooms are comfortable and typical Hilton standard. Rooms are clean, although I had to request housekeeping after my room was not cleaned after 2 days. Great location and close to BART so getting to SFO is super easy. Should be noted that when staying, service workers were on strike so the hotel was using temp staff for most roles. With that in mind, I would definitely stay again once the strike is over.

Stayed here last year and it was great. Quality has gone down without a fair contract for the striking workers, though. It could be a nice hotel again if management addresses workers’ concerns and the staff return Update: a fair contract has been signed! I expect service will substantially improve going forward!! I had a fantastic stay at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square! The Mobility Hearing Accessible Tub 1 Bed room was well-equipped and comfortable, making it an ideal choice for both accessibility and comfort. The room was spacious, clean, and provided all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel’s location is perfect, right in the heart of San Francisco, making it easy to explore the city’s famous attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting San Francisco!

Came for the Holiday SF tour around the city.. our rooms were great.. happy they had our family next door to each other. Perfect location in the center to everything.

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Union Square during the holidays for a black-tie, nighttime event nearby. It was a poor choice from the start. Firstly, there was a worker strike. But did the hotel tell us before we arrived? No - They Did Not. When we pulled up front to check-in, we were greeted only by protestors banging metal drums. (Surprise!) Half of the lobby doors were blocked with barriers. With no staff to consult, we decided to escape and park the car. Self-parking was offered here, but it was on the back side of the hotel, making for a long, tedious journey to our room - about 1/4 mile of walking and two different elevator systems needing room keys to activate. (Not ideal with our hands full). The hotel itself was a vast maze of interconnected buildings from different eras; it was tough to navigate even for someone with good spatial awareness, like me. I had it mostly figured out by the time we left, but unfortunately my wife felt lost the entire time. The hotel felt quite dated and sad. Our room was more modern, but on the tiny side. We did have nice, sunny views of the skyline and were able to watch part of the sunset. (I had attempted to buy cocktails for this moment downstairs, but there was no one at the bar to serve me, late on a Friday afternoon. Fail.) To reach our special event, we couldn't catch a cab from the front of the lobby per the original plan (due to the strike). Instead we had to grab an Uber from a side entrance with no address, making it difficult for the driver to find us. As for the event itself, it was fantastic and fun. (Thankfully Hilton had no involvement). This was certainly the worst Hilton experience we've ever had. Even if there had not been a strike, it would get a maximum of 3 stars. We won't be back. (Per Owner Comment - You failed to explain why we received ZERO WARNING about the strike or any tips for managing that scenario. Per your canned promise to improve things, does that mean you promise to inform all guests during the next strike? Why don't I believe that?)

Please let us know if we can assist with anything during your stay with us! -Larysa I called the number (415) 771-1400 They said that a Larysa did indeed work there. I explained I received a text referencing a stay the front desk did not pass me to Larysa but asked me to text back??? This does not leave me with a sense of any reassurance. Why would I receive a text I am a Hilton Honors Member not using my points and most certainly not staying in SF today. Very disappointed I could not get any help.

Came to stay here due to a conference in the hotel. It's a large property with a lot of rooms. There was a strike going on so there was pretty much no service at all. The room was fine. The whole place is dated and right on the edge of the Tenderloin, so....

I messaged this hotel via chat requesting an upgrade if possible since I am a diamond member and the stay will be for my daughter's 25th birthday. I talked to Ryan and he was able to upgrade her to a skyline corner suite. He also added a note about her birthday and Hilton gave her chocolates and wine. My daughter was able to check in earlier because they arrived in San Francisco around 8am. The level of service was great! The room was incredible. Excellent Hilton property

Came here for a recent convention. Overall the hotel works well for a convention with lots of breakout rooms and a nice main ball room. The floor plan is a rather confusing "rabbit warren" but I got the hang of where everything is by the second day. Staff here are friendly and helpful and the catering meals were good. This is a good convention location.

Worst Hilton stay ever. Front staff was so rude and very unhelpful. There were stains on the bed sheets, mold in the bathroom everywhere around the sink, table lamp did not work as we checked in, using cheap quality toilet paper, no lotion was filled in the entire stay by housekeeping and they barely clean the room when asked to do so. The carpets inside and outside the room were old and stinking bad. The coffee machine was so dirty and had to wash it under soapy water as coffee had an oil film all over it. We even requested a different room as this had so many issues but got turned down. The Herbs cafe salads were over priced and not fresh and coffee was also just okay. The bakery items were the only ones that saved the day. Wish they would upgrade this hotel and not charge so much for such poorly managed rooms. Elevators are very old and make noises.

Like me, I see most of the reviews here stayed for a conference. Their conference space is so weird with bathrooms very far from the actual conference rooms. This is a huge hotel that takes up a whole city block and thus has 3 towers for rooms. Lots of flight crews stay here. The hotel is located one block from the Tenderloin so this is considered the ghetto of San Francisco. I saw lots of people with drug addictions roaming the streets. There's no bottled water in the room. No makeup mirror, its hard to put eye makeup on standing in front of the sink. It's too dark to see yourself in the full length mirror in the narrow space next to your door. When I went to dinner one night at 7:30pm my floor was filled with half a dozen dinner trash that people strangely put in the hallway outside their room. When I returned at 10pm it was still there, gross! At 7am no hotel staff had picked it up yet. If you arrive at 10pm on a Wednesday expect a long line to check in. Once an elevator was full so I waited for the door to close then pushed the up bottom and it re-opened the full elevator. Very strange. They have a little outdoor pool. My room had terrible pillows, rough sheets and towels. Awesome rooftop bar with an amazing panoramic view!

We stayed for one week and enjoyed every day. As Diamond members, we were privy to the top floor including breakfast and snacks. The staff there was superb. We particularly enjoyed Syad, who never tired of greeting us and make sure we were happy. Job well done. Also, excellent location - no need to rent a car. We used Lyft to and from the airport and bought a PRESTO pass for bus and subway. More

We feel that management should have warned us of no room service due to the strike. Three day stay and the best they could do was to give us one change of towels....no room clean or anything else . . We feel that management should have been more forthcoming when we booked. We have stayed here many times in the past but will definitely explore our options more thoroughly in the future.

My man surprised me for our anniversary to stay at this hotel for the night. He asked for a room with a view of the city and damn, it did not disappoint. Check in was smooth and easy. The hotel was huge. It was nice and clean. Our room was nice. The bathroom door was like a barnyard style door and kinda hard to lock. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft. The view was spectacular. But we could hear when others turn on their water and when people would stomp on the floor. The fridge was decent size. No microwave. There was a coffee machine. The tv was cool. I wish they had more towels, there was only two. The trash didnt have bags in them which I thought was kinda odd. Since we only stayed one night, can't say much about the service. The shower was nice since they had full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash hung on the wall. There was a shower cap. Overall it was ok. Nothing too fantastic, but nothing really horrible either.

Stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights for a conference, and overall, just ok. Pros: good location in Union Square (convenient for conference we were at, although not my favorite area to stay), elevators were pretty quick. Cons: check-in took a really long time; they said they would call when room was ready and never did. I booked a King room for $269/night and requested city view, but got 2 Queens with no view. Huge hotel with 3 towers, which was bit spread out and confusing. Food and wine at the hotel was terrible; they had pool and jacuzzi, but not very inviting - surrounded by concrete. Was supposed to have Gold Hilton Hhonors status, but after numerous calls over 2 days, still couldn't resolve. Not likely to stay at this Hilton again.

This seems to be the go-to hotel for our San Francisco conferences so we've stayed here a few times and have another stay coming up next year. I'll get this out of the way first: it's not in the best area since the Tenderloin is right there. It's really a shame since Union Square is also really close and there are some nice restaurants nearby as well and we have always felt safe in the hotel. That being said, it's a pretty good hotel overall. The service has been good each time we've stayed here and our room and the hotel overall has been clean. The bathroom is small, but has very good water pressure, so that really makes up for the size. Parking is crazy expensive ($75/night), so I'd avoid parking here if you can avoid it. The breakfast buffet is also very expensive (~$50/person), so we skipped that, but they have a great selection of pastries and coffee in the lobby, so that made for a good quick breakfast for us. It's a clean hotel with good service and a solid place for a conference. It unfortunately has the Tenderloin as a neighbor, but that's why we use Uber to get around.

Hilton in the middle of San Francisco in Union Square and they can't even afford a fitted sheet on their bed. Their King Bed junior suite room says it offers a couch and a table with seating but the actual room has a single chair. Workers here work extremely hard and were very accommodating but the facility is also currently being protested against for how they treat their workers. Shameful that Hilton won't spend their money to take care of their workers or their guests with the basic facilities and amenities they say they offer.

The protesters were way too loud and were an unexpected surprise when booking this hotel for a conference. Unfortunately, I'm a light sleeper and could spend very little time in the room because the constant drum noises was maddening. They lasted from 7 AM until 10 PM so you definitely couldn't get rest during the day if you wanted

The hotel workers deserve a living wage! They have been on strike for 49 days and management is dragging its feet to enter a contract with them. I never would have stayed here had I known there was a picket line to cross. I arrived jet lagged from baltimore. We are told if the pool is closed. We should have been told the workers are on strike! A hotel without good hospitality workers would be a horrible place. Please don't make my mistake. It is a gauntlet of noisy pots and pans and unhappy people.

From the moment that the friendly and welcoming Juliet checked us in at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square the stay was magnificent. I was so delighted that the room I booked was upgraded to a parlor room with a balcony and to my surprise was on the 40th floor and WOW what a room it was! Spacious isn't the word when you see the pictures I posted of it you will know why! What a wonderful place to park ourselves for a long holiday getaway weekend in the city! I couldn't get enough of the view with downtown San Francisco at my fingertips. I was even to get some pictures of the amazing sunrise over the Bay Area eastern hills! I can go on and on about this room, but it is the perfect place for a small gathering if family and friends complete with a large table that sat 8 a wet bar, two large TVs one in the parlor room and the other in the bedroom. two full bathrooms and two outdoor patios! The hotel has a daily buffet breakfast option or there is also a grab-n-go hot meal option too where you can eat in the lobby if you please. There is a large lobby bar, but the talk of the town is the Sky Lounge in tower 1 on the 46th floor. I am not sure how many people are aware of it, but if you find yourself in SF in the evening and looking for a great place to take in an amazing 360 degree view of the city, be sure to check it out. There are many great cocktails to choose from too! It's funny that I have an old postcard from this Hilton Hotel, probably from the 1960s when tower 3 was the only constructed part of the hotel. Nowadays thee hotel is connected to three towers and the original part of the hotel still has its famous sunken in outdoor swimming pool on the 16th floor! Located just two blocks from Union Square it is the perfect place to stay for oh so many reasons!

I was attending an event in SF and didn't want to drive home late so booking a hotel was my next move. I ended up choosing this Hilton because it was about a 5 minute Uber right from my event. Like all Hilton properties, there are pros and cons. P R O S * room was clean and spacious. * king size bed was comfortable. * no issues with bathroom or toiletries. * good location - centrally located and a quick Uber ride to any district * 24/7 security monitoring the doors. C O N S * lobby and hallways had an unpleasant odor. * front desk staff were not too friendly. * a lot of intoxicated guests lying around the hallway furniture after 10pm. * overnight parking is ridiculously high - save yourself some money and find overnight parking at any garage other than the Hilton one. I think parking is about $90 a night - something that's so ridiculous. I found overnight parking for only $38! Drive around. It's worth it. * very congested area in town. Plan ahead of time for traffic, parking, etc -- all of those elements made me run late.

Did anyone ever watch the Osbourne? Show on MTV in the early '00s with Ozzy Osbourne? There was one episode where Sharon's dogs were pooping and peeing all over the house with Ozzy shuffling around, picking up after them. At one point, he yells, "I'm living in a nine million dollar turd!!" I was reminded of that at the Hilton San Francisco. I spent $200/night for a poop-filled, vomit covered and food strewn hotel experience. Okay so this place wasn't in the best of areas. They're basically capitalizing on Hilton brand in a crap neighborhood. The staff wasn't friendly at all. So included in our price was forcing us to charge like $25/night to our rooms. Like, just give me the credit on my room price? Really, I'm not jazzed about buying a Corona and a Stella to charge back for $25. I didn't park here, but there is a garage that looks like handles the hotel parking, I guess they have that going for them (parking is a PITA in SF) So back to the nine million dollar turd. We stayed from a Thursday to Monday. On Friday night, a dog shit all over our hallway. I'm assuming it was a dog (otherwise a human behaving badly). Some of it was picked up, I think someone was calling the front desk when I was leaving. They missed a few nuggets. It was quite entertaining that NO ONE came up to vacuum or sweep in a premium hotel during a busy weekend, and left a few errant turds laying around. There seemed to be some sort of LGBTQ convention? Which hey, that sounds fun right? Much of the lobby turned into like a post rave meeting spot, which I'm sure contributed to the vomit piles on our floor. Then the piece de resistance is someone leaving pretty much an ENTIRE PIZZA in the hallway. Like dude. Put the shit in your room! Is this really that hard for people? Who raised you? I'm not saying to not stay here...but I'm not _not_ saying that. I won't be staying here again, that's for certain.

Hilton, is this how you treat your Hilton honor members? I was invited to stay, then kicked out, then given two hours to charge my phone until 12 p.m. 11/14/23. on the top was tell my 90% government induced disabled @ss to get off the floor so it doesnt hurt your appearance. I apologize, but my dog was cold and shaking and was just tying to keep in warm in the cold SF weather. @Matthew Saylers, I'm surprised you let some Security HNIC run your show. I hope Hilton's defense stands up in court. I gave Hilton customer service 5 rings and talked to you countless times about how this could be rectified. i also gave you ten hours to respond to me. Any hotel in Union Square (aka edge of Tenderloin) is a really good location. They are easily accessible off of the Powell BART exit. There is a Halal Guys across the street which is perfect for late night munchies. This is by far the biggest Hilton property that I have been to. There are three different towers to this property! The lobby is constantly buzzing with people (it feels like Las Vegas minus the casino part) but probably because there's a bar in the middle. There's also a store for pastries or food if you need. Since it is in a nice/not nice area there is security outside of the entrance. I stayed in Tower 3 and it wasn't bad at all. The room was clean and served its purpose while I was in town.

We stopped in for a drink before our theatre performance. I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was made to perfection. I enjoyed the ambiance.

Hotel is on strike. Support the workers and don't stay here until it is resolved. Services are minimal during strike.

Too overpriced but the staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The front desk, bartenders, servers, and security were amazing throughout my stay here. I felt safe and cared for. The rooms are clean but the towers and layout of the hotel is very confusing and I wasn't a fan of how you had to walk down 3 hallways to get to number 50, the floors are huge and difficult to navigate. Also the buffet at Poached is $60 per person for basic continental breakfast and there were no mimosas as advertised... Amazing views especially on the 46th floor at Cityscape lounge for drinks and the best 360 view of the Bay Area. I felt really lucky to stay here but also I felt like the prices just weren't reasonable, this hotel is also deadset downtown so I wouldn't recommend staying out late in this area. Just a couple streets of on Taylor there is a church that gives out food and clothes to homeless, making it easy for homeless to crowd the shops and set up in the side of the streets. Not family friendly, many times I was walking I'd see or smell someone smoking crack right at the bus stop, sitting/standing on the sidewalk... Pick a better area to stay, but this is a nice place to check out the bar.

Awesome place to stay! I used to live in SF and this was a great hotel for my return vacation. Nice room with good beds and elektronics. The lobby is really nice and open, the employees are super nice and welcoming, I had nice chats with them and some nice cold beverages. But all around a super nice place to stay!

No going to recommend staying here, absolutely a cluster f@ck of ineptness! Greeted by a cacophony of noise, including bullhorns in your ears since hotel staff are striking, so no services (including maid service) no amenities available, no food or bar services! And no refunds! Don't think I will be back.

I hate writing negative reviews but if you are planning a trip to the SF area I highly recommend you avoid this hotel. It hurts me so much to say that because I've stayed here probably 25 times. Unfortunately this hotel is old and really out dated. It's also very expensive! Let's first talk about the hotel. Location is great if you want to be near Inion Square but the truth is that Union Square is awful. Most of the stores and restaurants in the area are gone, out of business. In fact today we saw a sign that Gap is closing. The theater is gone and our go to Mexican restaurant is out of business. The homeless problem is out of control. There is human feces all over the sidewalk between here and the cable car, needles on the ground right outside the hotel. And last but not least the smell from the dirty people sleeping and urinating is disgusting. Now let's talk about the hotel. There are zero places to charge a cell phone. The lobby looks nice but forget ringing a USB port. The room has nothing for your phone except for power outlets so make sure you bring a cube. The food in the Herb Kitchen is not good. The pizza tasted as if it was heated up in a microwave. The small cookie we purchased was $6 When we checked in there was the room rate and truthfully it wasn't bad. But then there is a resort fee and this hotel is absolutely 100% NOT a resort. Then there is the parking fee, I think we paid close to $200 for two nights. The WiFi is awful and agin the rooms are so out dated. Between the broken door handles on the bathroom to the lack of places to charge your phone I will never stay here again. This is a Hilton, and the Hampton around the corner has better accommodations. So sad that I'm writing this review because I once lived this hotel but I'm not coming back!

Charming hotel, convenient location, although maybe a little too close to Tenderloin for the hubs' comfort. Really close to shops of luxury goods and department stores, and also close-ish to Chinatown. Lots of public transport options within walking distance. The room could have done with a bit of updating, there were signs of wear and tear. But otherwise everything was functional. I like that we could check-in remotely. Hubs got our room before we even boarded our plane! We also used the digital key instead of a physical room key, super convenient. There was only one concierge on duty all day from 12-9. Gotta time it right if you need help booking tours. The cafe/convenience store in the lobby is quite well stocked. Prices are ridiculous as can be expected. Thankfully we were given daily dining credit so we got dinner, snacks, and drinks covered. I also like that there are water refill stations and recycle bins in the lobby. Friendly staff. Clean.

We stayed at the Hilton Union Station after another hotel in the area gave our reservation away and we scrambled to find an alternative. I was so pleased with our choice to stay at the Union Station Hilton. Staff was amazing!!!! We were treated by staff that was extremely professional, helpful, kind, and informative as to the hotel and surrounding area. The hotel was beautiful, the room was immaculate and quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and our stay was beyond perfect. We will be staying at the Hilton Union Station on all of our upcoming visits. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!

Hubby and I stayed here for my birthday SF weekend trip. Room was clean spacious and very comfortable. Checking in and out as well as parking was a painless process. there was a big conference going on or something like that, and yet we were still taken care of really well. We had a wonderful experience overall and would highly recommend for folks to stay here!

She's coming back... Yeah SF is getting her bearing and legs and starting to show signs of life. I had two friends attending the ATS convention and staying at the HIlton Union Square. The HIlton has kept the place clean and safe. Their suite on the 44th floor was amazing. Sure the tenderloin has gotten really bad but this is mismanagement from liberal progressive leaders ( Chesa, Breed) not the hotel. If you head North or East from the Hotel you will be fine as those parts are just fine

Location is very good, it is walking distance to the Union Square and the BART metro Powell Station. Check in was super easy, actually, I used the Hilton app to got my room and my digital room key. Only issue is that I picked a room which was very close to the elevators so I kept hearing them all night long. Room was a little small but comfortable. TV had good channels. Hilton honors has good Internet connection. There was a fridge in the room. They also offered daily room service. Coffee maker, iron, and hairdryer worked well. There is a coffee shop, a convenient store, and a small restaurant in the hotel. Overall good experience. Hot water was good.

The main issue was the overwhelming noise from ongoing employee demonstrations outside the hotel, even on the 29th floor. The protests involved drumsticks, buckets, and sirens, creating a chaotic and disruptive atmosphere. This made it difficult to relax. It would have been courteous if the hotel informed guests about these disturbances before booking. Additionally, my room was missing shower gel, which is a basic amenity. This absence was disappointing and indicative of the inconsistent service during my stay.

I love the Hilton brand! This hotel is HUGE!! There are 3 towers, I guess. I had reservations for the standard double room. However, as a gold member I was upgraded to the skyline view room and it did not disappoint. Wow...what a beautiful view of The city! The hotel is in a very central position, close to Powel street, where you can take the cable car, and, of course, Union Square. As soon as we landed, I tried to reach out to the hotel for an early checkin and they were very accommodating. At front desk, Mr Abdullah were extremely kind and helpful even providing us with recommendations of restaurants nearby.

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and our experience was not what we were expecting. Despite having clean and well-maintained amenities, I would consider this a hostile hotel. This hotel was unwelcoming and some of the staff lack empathy and hospitality. Staff at the front cherry picks on who to help based on their looks and appearance. They will open the door and help you with luggages IF you're wearing a suit or if you're driving a nice car. They told us we can't use the bell cart for our luggages even after seeing us doing multiple trips. We have physically challenged guests with us during our stay and they didn't even offer to at least hold the door open. They also told us that we were blocking traffic even if we were parked right on the designated spot to drop passengers off and unload belongings. We were waiting for the wheelchairs (that we brought on a separate van due to size) so we can help our physically challenged guests and they told us we have to move our vans. They told us we can go to the garage if we want to drop off passengers - their garage isn't big enough to fit our van and they know that. HOWEVER, when there was a luxury car parked right on the bus/taxi lane, they went ahead and helped the drivers with the luggages and let them use the bell cart. We've been adjusting to the accomodations that they've denied us. They also asked for our keycards as we entered the hotel ONLY on the third night. They didn't ask us ever until the third night, which was weird. Very random and picky security? If you're looking for a hotel with very poor service, this is for you. I don't recommend this to people who wear casual clothes and to people who are physically challenged. PS: the housekeepers are nice and they did a great job cleaning the rooms.

Very big hotel with three towers. Tower 3 is where garage is attached to. We stayed in Tower 1 on 30th floor With balcony view. Very nice just in sketchy location. Right boarderline area so don't walk outside at night. Lol

Hotel on strike. Support the workers. Had i known about it, i wouldn't stay here. There was no housekeeping during my Fri and Sat night stay.

After doing some researching, I decided to stay at this hotel due to the location and for the service. Yes, this hotel is huge which has three towers. The HHonor app does a great job to explain how to find your room. I would classify this as a convention / meeting hotel but friendly for tourists. Granted, I'm visiting San Franciso during the "off season", checking in was a breeze. I had received by digit key, but I like to have a hard key. The agent was very friendly and very helpful regarding the hotel. The modern lobby was very inviting with various sitting areas and a large bar. There are couple of restaurants nearby, however, only one restaurant was open. Before, I had arrived, I had upgraded to a Junior Suite which is larger than a standard room with a sitting area. After locating the room, on the 15th floor with city views, I was glad I had upgraded since I was sending three nights at this hotel. The suite was 500 sq ft (approx.). The decor is very neutral with shades of brown and tans. Of course, the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was good size for this suite. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy any of the hotel's amenities such as the fitness center, pool, or the lounge with the incredible view. The Herb N' Kitchen the only food service that was open for breakfast to late night snacks. I will say, the hot food items were very tasty. I would recommend this hotel for great service from the staff and great location.

Brought a friend from out of state to see SF for the 1st time. At this Union Square Hilton, found parking a little difficult with surrounding areas filled with homeless people and smoke/liquor shops. At check-in, waited in line as a Gold Status member for 15mjn with no staff acknowledgement, only to realize that the Hilton Honors counter wasn't staffed at all. Rooms were mediocre with no complimentary water and experienced a rude waiter at the Sky Bar when prompted to split bills separately. SF weather was fortunately gorgeous, but would not recommend this location for their services and substandard customer service.

This is my second time staying at the Hilton and it was definitely a great experience. I'd say an even better experience than my last to be honest. Check in was great. Issa helped us and was kind, fun to chat with, and offered upgrades. He provided useful information about my stay. Our room was great as I would expect. Location of the actual hotel is great for city events. We were here for the Lunar New Year Festival and loved the proximity of the hotel. We also checked out other things in the city as well. The last thing and probably nerve racking thing that went absolutely well was parking. My last visit included issue with broken parking machines and a parking attendant that wasn't that kind to us even though we pre-paid for parking. This time around Nick Soto explained the parking cost process and reassured that I can contact him if I had any issues. We had no issues at the parking gate! I was relived.

My husband and I booked a hotel for San Francisco Pride. We needed a disabled access room for him so they were able to accommodate us. We were on Tower 3 , 17th floor. First off I wanted to say here that the staff is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and helpful here, especially the few times I had to call the front desk for questions. Check in was smooth and we had a great view of the city up above. They all get 5 stars for being helpful. That being said, while we enjoyed our stay there was a couple of issues we ran into: *The room we had, the entry way was very narrow. My husband is in a wheel chair and it took some effort to get inside the room. We wish the door opened automatically for disabled access rooms. This could be a problem for a solo traveler in a wheelchair. I was able to help him navigate inside and outside the room. Outside, I had to hold the door open for him to exit the room. Needs improvement. *None of the trash bins inside had liners in them as they should have it. We simply threw trash in there without them. Did not bother to ask. *For the price we paid for 2 nights we expected to have modern necessities such as USB ports in the room for charging electronics. None of that was present in there. But we did have our 20000 mAH battery chargers so that was fine but wanted to mention that. *Breakfast at Poached was not worth the $118 we paid for 2 people although the staff really were helpful. I would avoid this place as the food is not worth that price. We had better quality food at iHop. We had no choice though because we were directly going to pride and did not want to wait for a spot to open at some of the diners nearby. Elevator tried to pinch my husband in the wheel chair going up to the 17th floor. The sensors did not detect him going into the elevator when we first arrived. They close too quickly. Could be a challenge for someone in a wheel chair. On the positives: *The bar section is really happening and you meet a lot of interesting people having a good time. Bartenders are great. Has a great , welcoming vibe in there *Wheel chair ramp access is great with push button door opening *Herb Kitchen has a deli and pantry style format inside if you want something different for lunch with a limited selection of beers. Other notes to mention: If you order Door Dash, the drivers are not allowed to go up to the rooms. It is suggested you communicate with your driver to find out what time they are going to arrive. And meet them outside the Hilton. I found this out through an in app message from my driver delivering me items from 7-11. Should you plan on trying to order alcohol on Door Dash and you find it's expensive, go to O-Farell Liquors up the street from the hotel for cheap prices on Alcohol and skip Door Dash All together. Restaurants around here are plentiful but in the surrounding areas many close at 7/8pm on Sundays leaving tourists to choose less trendy places to eat or scrambling to find what's opening. OVERALL : We did enjoy our stay here. It was great to get out of the house. However the negatives do need improving. The price of breakfast was just too outrageous and we crossed that one off our Do Not Eat At list.

Great hotel center ally located, it's near the cancel cars which you can take down to fisherman's Warf. Our room has a great view and the beds are very comfortable. The continental breakfast is really expensive especially for what's they offer. But there are local places nearby. Behind the hotel there are some homeless tents. I hate to say it San Francisco just like LA has gone down the drain. As great as this hotel is, It's my opinion there are better places to visit than San Francisco.

The hotel, itself was nice. There's not much to complain about the building, room, restaurant, and so forth. The bed was a bit harder than I prefer, but I slept well. The pillows were great. Let me focus on what I didn't like: 1) water pressure was pretty low. Showers took longer than normal because it took a long time for the water to rinse at such low pressure. I was in Tower 3, and maybe the other towers were better. 2) the shower's water control was among the worst I've experienced. It was very difficult to find that magic spot between freezing cold and scalding hot. 3) WiFi was unusable in the evenings. It wasn't that it was slow, but I had to reauthenticate dozens of times. Sometimes it would happen after a few seconds. Other times after 10-15 minutes. Regardless, it was an annoyance that I finally disconnected and used my phone's hotspot instead. After about midnight, things settled down and became usable. This was the same every evening. Clearly there are some problems here in an otherwise very nice hotel. I won't get into where my room was placed, at the opposite side of the hotel from the elevator, and with a very long walk past unused conference rooms. Some maintenance on the showers would fix the water issues. WiFi was inexcusably bad. It needs to be upgraded or fixed immediately. Maybe fire the managed service they're using. At the rate they charge, per-room, business travelers expect usable connectivity.

Nice staff, terrible rooms. I stayed here for a conference. I've visited this hotel many times in their conference facilities. I usually opt for smaller properties, but went in hopeful. The first issue I had with the hotel is WiFi. Every morning I woke up, it was out and would sporadically go out during the day. This wouldn't normally bother me except the place is like a bunker and I got no signal. My other major issue with the hotel is the rooms. If I were to describe the room with a shade, it would be dim. The bathroom, which I'll be coming back to, only had soft white light. No supplemental makeup light, nothing. Soft white has no business being the only lighting option in the bathroom. With all of the lamps on in the room itself it was quite dim; think romantic dinner, not business hotel. The bathroom design is a dumpster fire. I'm convinced the designers never attempted to use it. The centerpiece of it all was the vanity. The toilet was positioned in front of half and the overall depth of the vanity was about 14" which means to wash my face my head was pressing against the mirror. The towel bar was slightly in front of the toilet, over the toilet paper roll and not really big enough for all the towels. At one point a towel slipped and caused the toilet paper roll to unroll. The shower was big, but the water temp inconsistent. The adjustable shower head was so shallow, my back was against the adjustment pole to get my head under the water without removing it from the mount. The grab bar also seemed impractically placed, I can't see how one could hold it and do anything productive. This wouldn't be my first choice for a return trip to SF.

I joined my significant other at this hotel for the last night of their conference before we headed north the next day. I'm not sure how any of the 4 or 5 star reviews are written for this hotel. Their bars must be very low. First, the bed was uncomfortable with very few blankets, and the pillows were way too small for the bed and flat. My significant other had horrible allergies while they were staying in the room, likely due to the fact the rooms were clearly old, outdated and not well cleaned. I also got sick after eating food from their grab and go location- I was desperately hungry after a 6 hour flight and it was all I had eaten, within a few hours I couldn't keep out of the bathroom. Reading some reviews it appears I'm not the only person that's had this experience. But- the worst part?! THIS IS THE LOUDEST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED AT. The windows are single pane and even from the 15th floor, I couldn't sleep all night due to how loud the street noise was. I've stayed all over the country in big cities in lower rated hotels and it wasn't this bad. Would definitely not come back here- this is technically a 4 star hotel and nowhere near the quality I would expect.

Planning a 100+ event and looking for a week of rooms but no replies via their online inquiry, called and got the sales assistant to try and get someone to get info, assistant is chalenging. Process is frustrating to get info, guess we will go to Hyatt or Marriott for better service.

I'm very disappointed with this hotel. I booked this hotel about a year ago for a concert I got tickets for. I booked this hotel for the view, the parking garage, the roof top bar, and it was supposed to be in a safer area of San Francisco. The only good thing about this hotel was the view. The roof top bar was closed for construction, the parking garage charged me twice and the amount and the single amount was more than advertised on their website. The hotel is pretty much in tenderloin. It was not a safe area at all. There was nothing walking distance from the hotel that was safe or nice or entertaining. They had another bar downstairs which I was told by front desk and their website that it was open until 1am. It closed every night early at about 11:40pm. When we went to bed that night my sheets were stained and dirty. When I called the front desk they told me they were going to send someone to put on new sheets for us and an ice bucket since we didn't get one. The man only came with an ice bucket and was very short with us when we asked where the sheets were. We called up again and they sent him which sheets but not a full set and he wouldn't put them on ( which I didn't care but the front desk adamantly told me 3 times they would make the bed for us) the second set of sheets where ALSO stained. And then the 3 rd set that we got the next morning also had stains. The hotel room we had was pretty dusty and seemed it was vacant for awhile. Eventually at the end of the day I was charged $140 for parking. Website said $72. I'm very disappointed with my stay and I'll never be coming here again. The beds were uncomfortable and the was paper thin. Not what you expected from a 4 star hotel. Money would be better well spent elsewhere !!

Hilton SF gave me an upgrade because as a Diamond member it is one of the perks of being one.I love the views where my room was ..the view of SF ! And the proximity of shopping center and Union Square of course but most of all the Curran Theater where we saw the play "Harry Potter and The Cursed Child''
