NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"There are thousands, if not millions, of places to drink coffee in Greenpoint. But how many of them also serve momos? At Himalayas Newa Cafe, you can get pastries, Nepalese dumplings, and coffee in one transaction. " - Will Hartman, Willa Moore

Himalayas Newa Cafe - Review - Greenpoint - New York - The Infatuation

"There are a lot of cafes in Greenpoint. But at Himalayas Newa Cafe, you can eat beef or chicken momos off-camera, while "listening" to Andy from marketing tell you about your company’s dynamic results-based workflow. The minty green space is on the ground floor of a luxury apartment building, so it lacks a bit of the charm of some other cafes in the area, but the comfy leather seats will make you forget it’s located on noisy McGuinness Blvd. They sell cookies, pastries, and a small selection of Nepalese food, and if you want somewhere to spend an entire workday and not eat another 3D-printed turkey on ciabatta, Himalayas Newa Cafe should be in your rotation. photo credit: Will Hartman" - Will Hartman

This Nepali cafe and coffee shop is a hidden gem. The owner, Asha, is friendly and generous. It feels like you are dining in a good friend’s cozy living room. The decor is thoughtful, with beautiful lanterns, lights, and prayer flags. You can get momos or cafe drinks of many different varieties, as well as cookies from The Good Batch bakery. Recommend getting some good focus work done here while enjoying the calm environment.

my bf and i walked by on our way to drop off our compost at mcgorlick and were enticed by this cute and cozy himalayan spot neither of us had seen before. walked in and were greeted by the super kind owner. my bf had a coffee he said was delicious and we were so intrigued by the menu that we decided to sit down and order the beef momo soup. both together came to around $11 before tax and tip. the soup was spicy, hot, and savory, perfect for a cold sunday morning. can't wait to come back to try the paratha egg wrap and the steamed momos!

The best dumplings in all of greenpoint are at this little cafe tucked away on McGuinness Blvd. They are INCREDIBLE, excellent value and the dumplings came out steamy fresh and stuffed. They also came with a delicious sauce. It’s hard to find a meal in Brookyln or greenpoint for <$10/person and this is it! I will be back to try coffee, ramen and their baked goods.

Lovely new Nepalese place in Greenpoint with the nicest owner! Reasonably priced, delicious handmade momos (dumplings) and they also serve ramen, pastries and cafe drinks. Go support this great local business!

Agreeing with all the other reviews so far! This is a refreshingly reasonably priced new coffee shop & cafe. Asha, the owner couldn't be kinder, appreciative and attentive. So far I've tried the chicken momos (the homemade dumplings) and their egg & cheese croissant sandwich, both were outstanding - fresh, and a great value. Asha said he'll soon be adding gluten free options to his bakery items...he offers lunch specials with a food item & drink for $8-9! Go support this lovely family owned business!

Owner is super nice, the chai with oat milk and the vegan momos were both phenomenal. I saw the owner hand making the dumplings/momos so they are fresh!

Google
A cozy light filled cafe with incredibly kind owners! I had the beef momos which came with 8 momos and a sauce. It was delightfully beefy and juicy inside! Prices for all food and drinks were great and they have great vegetarian and vegan options! Would highly recommend!
