LOVED this place!! We stopped by for my sister's bachelorette party - she is vegetarian and sometimes has a hard time finding good vegetarian food where she lives, and she was so thrilled with this place. I had their Buffalo chick'n sandwich and honestly it was delicious. The employees there were so amazing and friendly. Really a solid fast casual place. Their sweet potato fries are also great too.

The food was good and the chocolate shake was perfect! I had an order of nuggets and the Smokehouse Burger. The wasn't anything particularly extraordinary about the burger but it was tasty. The sauces were good but my fav was the hiocity sauce. Sweet and very reminiscent of ChickFil sauce. My friend had the Jerk chicken salad and said it was good. Next time I'm in the area, I'd definitely like to try other menu items. The space is bright and colorful with music piped throughout. Only negative is that it took a very long time for someone to clean off a table for us to sit at (I had to ask a couple times).

This is a new restaurant that opened in the elite Dupont area of NW DC. This area in general is a gourmet foodie delight and the competition for customers is fierce with several top of the line food places within a few blocks radius. HipCituVeg is a vegan place primarily specializing in mock meat. They sell the impossible meat burgers, tempeh burgers and “chicken” fajitas among other things. The food is good but I felt the portions are relatively small. They prefer you do takeout since the seating is limited. I tried their burger and fajita and both were very tasty. Overall the place is great and I hope they survive the competition. There was another vegan restaurant (Native Foods) that had opened across the Connecticut Ave 5 years ago. They were a lot bigger and a lot more popular than this place but eventually closed down. I am keeping my fingers crossed that these guys survive. The place is definitely recommended, at least as a check out.

I took a pleasant stroll in Dupont Circle neighborhood and I came across a wonderful veggie joint. I just started to stop in because I originally was going to go to a day party, however due to the massive turn out and my fear of catching Covid I decided not to enter into the building. And instead use my money to enjoy a tasty savory “burger”. Now this hip city veg joint seemed very inviting from eyeing them from across the street. A lot of bright colors very open and airy floor to ceiling windows and clean marketing spaces. The entire menu is veggie so not to worry for all you vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian lovers. If you have a craving of chicken, steak, or burger, this is your place! Without harboring all of the guilt. I had a tasty Ziggy burger with the famous special sauce. I will definitely come back and try their “chikn -nuggets”. My only suggestion would be to explain on the menu what a customer is actually eating (detailed ingredients- some people are allergic to soy etc). I know whats in Beyond burgers however I don’t know what kind of plant-based meat is used for the other options. I had to ask the plant manager -(very cute play on word play on their apron) ☺️

A great location on Connecticut Avenue NW, just south of Dupont Circle. Once you step into the shop, you are warmly greeted by the staff. I love the layout of this restaurant. All food items on the menu are plant based. Each is seasoned well, and tasty! My favorite, the Philly Steak. I have them add avocado slices to it. Perfect!

HipCityVeg is an oasis. Fast vegan food when you need it. Stop in for a quick bite to go or dine in if you have a minute. Everything I tried while in DC was worth getting a second time. I don't think you can go wrong.

As someone who loves burgers and the environment, HipCityVeg is a paradise for me and I am so glad they have opened DC locations. I first ate there at their location in Philly and I was hooked. They have delicious vegan food, remarkable shakes, and their sweet potato fries are to die for. Not to mention that the staff is friendly and always happy to provide recommendations and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Even my meat eater friend that I took there said, "I keep forgetting this is vegan" as he ate his burger. At the end of the meal, I was able to put all packaging in the compost and leave with a smile on my face and a feeling that I was making the right decision on where to spend my money.

The door was so loud and squeaky everyone sitting by it got up and moved. Like ear-piercing, nails on chalk board. The food was pretty quick, the BFG smoothie took longer but it was delicious. The sweet potato fries with the aioli were delicious. The chikn wrap (fajita I think?) was not good. No flavor. Very bland. I’d come back to try something else on the menu but take it to-go.
