I ordered takeout from Hiro and had a really frustrating experience. The app never notified me when my food was ready, and there were no gluten free labels on anything even though I noted my celiac allergy. The host said he was “95-99% sure” the Brussels sprouts were gluten free, which isn’t good enough for a medical condition. I had to go back in for gluten free soy sauce, the staff was cold and unhelpful, and they forgot chopsticks. Worst of all, I started feeling sick shortly after eating, which makes me worry about cross contamination. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with gluten safety or service here.

A rather eclectic “choose your own adventure” restaurant- Chinese OR Japanese. (Why not throw some Korean in there — and we can have a trifecta!) Food was remarkably good, although they had no Non-Alcoholic beverages on the menu. Portions were also rather generous ( sashimi) and excellent presentation. The chicken teriyaki was not teriyaki - but tasty nonetheless. The decor was a bit cavernous, but clean and tidy. Service was attentive and kind - loved our server. In all: a pretty good dining experience. Would love to see them kick into a higher gear though. I will be back.

Disappointed by How Regulars Were Treated I used to come in on Sundays with friends around 9 or 9:30 after comedy. Yes, we knew they closed at 10, and we were always mindful of that—we ordered quickly, knew exactly what we wanted, and never overstayed. Staff would clean around us, which was fine—we appreciated their effort and respected their time. But recently, when we came in as usual, we were turned away without any explanation. When we politely asked why, the manager gave us no reason at all. As regular, respectful customers, we expected at least a basic explanation or a courteous response. It’s disappointing to feel unwelcome at a place we used to enjoy and support regularly. A little communication would have gone a long way.

Very last minute decision to come here for dinner for our Anniversary date night because this was the only place that was open fairly late. We got here around 9:35 and were extremely happy that they still so does even though they closed at 10. Major MAJOR shout out to our server first of all! What a gem! So friendly and always checking and honest if we needed anything - and it was out of genuine concern and not just to make us leave. In fact, we ended up staying beyond 10:00 p.m. and he was still super nice the entire time. Really friendly and bubbly and nice to talk to as well. As for the food.. I got the beef and broccoli and really loved it! It was steaming hot! Definitely freshly made. Good chunks of meat and really good amount of broccoli as well. I love the ratios on this year. There was quite an amount of sauce though which I was not expecting but overall it was a really good dish. May or may not have burned my tongue, but it was all worth it! My fiance got the Thai chicken curry from the entree section. He also had a good amount of vegetables in there and the chicken was really well cooked. Quite some big pieces of chicken too. Another fresh dish with a lot going on but very good things going on. We got the side salad for both orders. It was a simple greens plus dressing kind of a salad, but that dressing was out of this world! I asked the server and he said it was an in-house carrot ginger dressing. I'm now on the lookout for a good one to purchase! To end the meal we asked for the scallion pancake. Server was surprised this was our ending, but he went with it. Put it in just before the kitchen closed. The pancake was nice and flaky and really fresh and warm and crispy. Quite an amount of oil on there so I had to take some out with paper towels by pressing it but I would totally order it again. It comes with a spicy sauce which is a must!

Went here while visiting my daughter in Lincoln, I thought the sushi was pretty good. We had prompt friendly service and it was in a neat location. We had the mochi after we ate and it was good too. We would definitely come back again.

My friends and I came in for a late dinner (8:30pm) on short notice Wednesday night and had one of the best experiences ever! Our server Kristen was delightful, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu. We drank the Empress 75, blueberry crush, and cucumber sake-tini and all three drinks were perfect, not too strong or sour, the bartender clearly knew what they were doing. We also got steamed pork dumpling gyozas and crab Rangoon which came out freshly made hot and were an excellent size to pop in your mouth. The sushi itself was phenomenal, since we got so much it came out on a sushi boat which was adorable. The Hiro’s Special Roll was definitely the highlight. Thank you to Kristen, the hostess, the bar, and the kitchen for an amazing night!

We are at hiro on Monday, our server Andrew was super nice and efficient! We also had the pleasure of talking to the manager, Dylan, who was also super nice and gave us lots of recommendations on rolls that he likes, both Andrew and dylan made our experience awesome! Great staff and food, would definitely recommend!

Hiro 88 is my go-to place for sushi here in Lincoln, NE. Before Hiro 88 came to Lincoln, my friends and I would drive to Omaha, NE whenever we were craving sushi. So glad we do not have to drive that far anymore! This review is based on my last experience here. The service was very good for being how busy it was (since on Sundays it is all day happy hour). My water glass was never empty and our server was very attentive to our table. Our food did take awhile to come out, but our server came to our table to apologize for the wait so that it did not seem like we were forgotten. I really like the atmosphere of the place, except for the fact that the tables are situated pretty close together and you can sometimes hear the conversation that the table right next to you is having. They also have outdoor seating for nicer days which I also like. The food was tasty, we ordered the spicy garlic edamame, the las vegas, unagi, and spicy salmon rolls which are all on the happy hour menu. For the entrees, we ordered the mongolian chicken and the crispy garlic beef that came with rice and either a soup or salad. I prefer the salad with the sesame dressing over the sweet and sour soup. Prices for the entrees are a bit on the high end, but we had a Groupon so that helped with the bill. The happy hour items are fairly priced, and the happy hour menu is extensive so you have a great selection to choose from. You can also order takeout from the happy hour menu so that is a big plus!
