Historic Brownsville Museum

Not very full of artifacts. The receptionist seemed surprised to see anyone walk in. She asked what we needed. To which I replayed to visit the museum. She didn’t direct us in anyway. We found the train section completely on our own, I’m not sure we even got to see everything, there might have been sections we missed just because not everything is the same room. The train section is in another building. They need to hire friendly helpful people who love history and engage with visitors.

This is the second time we have visited this museum..and still Loved it! It is just off 7th Ave. and Madison St.near downtown Brownsville, . Within the Museum is great displays of the History of the Mexican War for the Control of Texas, bronze statues of Horse and Rider, antique furniture, and a beautiful Steam Engine in its own building..The staff was friendly and informative.

Super neat place to explore and we lucked out because there was a car show today as well. Loved the old train and all of the history and artifacts. Highly recommend. Smaller so you can get through it fairly quickly.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We were there to see the train exhibit. Which my son loved! Overall a great experience.

I attended an informative invocation ceremony relating to Maya from Guatemala. There was also a tour of the traditional dress of the people of Guatemala. Everyone was very friendly and the event was well put together in Brownsville.

The people were nice. Even though they had construction going on, the hike and the self-tour around the property were very nice.

Alfonso was Awesome Very Knowledgeable about the different aspects of the museum. Polite & so enthusiastic as if telling it for the first time!!! Well worth the time!!

In an old train depot which is interesting. Some of the space unused but that could due to the pandemic. They have an old locomotive and train memorabilia
