A year-round, historic-village setting where 75-plus vendors sell produce, meats, and flowers. Regularly lauded by Thrillist and regional guides, it’s worth the short drive for Saturday morning abundance and small-town charm.

We made the drive north from Dallas and had a nice time. The market is located about a 5-minute walk from the town square where the courthouse is located. There is a great variety of vendors ranging from fresh produce to baked goods and even knife sharpening. Parking options include street, surface level parking lots, and parking garages. We followed the blue circular signs with the white P and found a parking spot right away. It was great to get there early, spend an hour or so there, and then head out for brunch nearby!

Google
#1 Farmer's Market in Texas and the nation...not joking either. Homemade baked goods, fresh florals, lavender products, jewelry, coffee, leather goods, pasta, homemade dog collars, plants, toffee, honey...these are just a few of the amazing things you will find on a Saturday morning!

Bethany Russell

Google
On Saturday mornings, this is THE place to get fresh, locally produced vegetables, meats, honey, oils, breads, cheeses, coffee, pastries, tamales, sauces, dog treats, ginger beer, woodworks, pottery, lavender items, soaps, and so much more! Bring a big basket!! Such an amazing Farmer’s Market and plenty of free parking, too.

Very friendly atmosphere. Vendors of sorts. Lots to choose from in the areas of fresh vegetables, bread, sauces, fruit. Lots of cute shops and restaurants.

Google
The best farm fresh eggs, and watermelon, fruits & Veggies. A lot of good vendors! Highly recommend going every Saturday if you can!

Google
The parking can be tricky, even if you show up early. There is a wide variety of vendors, my regular visits are to Stonebridge Ranch farms, Warner Bees Honey, and White House Kitchen. It is worth the walk!

Google
Giving this 4 stars even though a good farmers market makes my heart soar. This one felt a bit sparse on both vendors and shoppers. Lots of good booths with meats, eggs, produce and wares. Not too many crafty things and multi-level items which I think junk up a good market. New location is easier to get to although come prepared to walk as downtown McKinney parking still thinks we have horse and buggy.

Google
My favorite Saturday morning routine is to pick up the delicious baked goods I preordered from Rosemary Bakery, and eat them for breakfast nearby. I think my favorite is the blackberry pistachio croissant, but I usually get a selection of many of Brooke’s artisan pastries. I can’t go wrong, they’re all exemplary. (Pro tip: preorder between Sunday and Tuesday on their website, I always get what I want, no line at 10:00 ish) Then we visit John at Lewellen Farms for microgreens. K-Mama kitchen for the best pickled veggies, then Uncle’s Family Kitchen for Pizzas & Lasagna, the Tamale Company is a must. The place is magical & the vendors are always lovely.

Yelp
We had such a great experience being a sponsor at the McKinney Farmers Market! The turnout was incredible, and we were able to make a ton of meaningful connections within the community. A huge shoutout to Tracey--she was an amazing communicator and such a great support throughout the entire process. Everything was so well organized, and it was a joy to be part of it. We can't wait to be involved in the next one! --The Little Gym of McKinney

Yelp
Great little farm market in historic downtown McKinney. Fun variety of vendors from local produce and hydroponics to bread makers and other local artisans. Come out and enjoy shooing local!

Yelp
Have been to this Farmers Market numerous times over the years. I continue to be disappointed due to lack of produce stands, and the veggies don't look very fresh or inviting. I'm a self-taught chef and food is my Love Language. What brought me back was the excitement of getting my Chef knives sharpened by CF Sharpening. You see I love to cook! Well, no one disappointed me more than CF Sharpening!!!! I came home last night only to find my Shun knives were in worse shape than when I dropped them off on Saturday. Sadly, I had to take my knives to a professional knife sharpening and I might or might not get them back in time for Thanksgiving. The cost is going to be expensive too, since I was told my blades were not sharpened correctly, they now have an uneven edge. The pasta booth did not give me my email receipt, so I don't remember their name, but the pasta was overpriced and meh. And in the past I have purchased from the olive oil & vinegar dude, who is high, high on prices. I did purchase from Mix it Up, and her baked goods were soooo deliciousness!!!!! Will definitely buy from her again!

Yelp
Lots to do, great farmers market, love the Antique mall, could easily spend hours here popping into shops, looking at the art and trying food from cafes, sit down places, to ice creams

Yelp
A wonderful start of a Saturday morning this farmers market makes. On my rotation of farmer market visits it is now. Thrilled in finding local small farms and artists that I haven't encountered elsewhere. Ecstatic I am with discovering the new greens from "Lewellen Farms" & "Embry Farms" - and - the delightful ceramic ware of "Alex Macias". CHEERS!

Yelp
Very cute historic area that has been revitalized. My biggest complaint is the lack of parking. We go to the farmers market on Saturday morning and if you get there a little later in the morning, the TINY adjacent parking lot is completely full. Then you'll be roaming the streets for street parking. Not well planned IMO. Need more parking.

Yelp
Best Farmers Market in DFW. Part produce and part craft stalls. Not as good as the California Farmers markets but very charming and a nice way to spend a Saturday morning. One highlight is the pony rides.

Yelp
I love coming here. Haven't been here since COVID Has it moved? I'm here now and there's no one, no tomatoes for sale

Yelp
My husband and I love going to this market on Saturday mornings. It's located in Downtown McKinney where Chestnut Square is located. It's cool to see vendors being placed in both historic and new areas of DT McKinney. Vendors vary, which include veggies, fruit, jewelry, dog apparel, tamales, meat, dips, tea, herbs, and more. After coming here a few times, we find ourselves regularly going to the Tamale Company (get the Ancho Chile Pork), Jojo's Sweet Treats (get the chocolate fried pie), Keeton Farms (get any of the beef), Buck Creek Farms (get the taste and see package), and Cita's Salsa (get the hot red sauce and a brisket taco to eat it with!). We tend to go right when they open at 8 AM and all vendors are ready to go then. It's great so my husband and I can get there, say hello to our favorite vendors and meet new ones, buy some items, and go home by 9 AM. Sometimes we bring our dogs too, who love meeting people at the market. We highly recommend this farmers market; enjoy!

Yelp
*squeals with delight!* Farmer's markets just get me all kinds of excited, like Christmas morning excited, and this one does it especially. This one is open every Saturday morning in the summer and is located in a very cute part of historic McKinney called Chestnut Square. You'll find free parking at a variety of lots off Highway 5/Greenville and inside the McKinney downtown too. Fresh produce, fresh meats, fresh dairy and yogurt products (Three Cows), local honey, local wine (courtesy of Landon Winery), fresh baked goods (Village Bakery), locally roasted coffees (PennRoast Coffee), and it's just all wonderful. I highly recommend the au pain, amann, or any of the breads from Village Bakery. The tamale guy is there at random, but those are just insanely good. Hubby loves the pies and cookies from places like "Just Pie" and "Stephanie's Cookies". Geez, it's all just wonderful and LOCAL which makes me heart all warm and happy. Great products, but it's mostly cash only. I highly recommend a stop by an ATM before you go because most of the stalls don't have a credit card swiper. You'll want to bring your own bags too, or spend a measly $5 and get the local McKinney Farmer's Market bag which is huge and always serves us well. I really adore this place and try and go as often as I can. Hope to see you there!

Yelp
Visited for the first time since moving to the local area, and was very sad to see that this is kind of the reverse of what I expected at a Farmer's Market: 1) Prices were CRAZY HIGH 2) See #1 3) Variety of produce was slim pickings, with maybe a few baskets here and there of vegetables, and the rest were canned/bottled/dry items I could have purchased for 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost at Sprouts Farmer's Market Grocery Store Will not be visiting again. I'm not rich enough to be a McKinney Farmer's Market visitor :(. Note: For a real farmer's market experience, drive a little further south to the Dallas Farmer's Market. More produce to choose from, and much more reasonable prices.

Yelp
This is small farmers market in the historic downtown area of McKinney. It is held every Saturday 8am - noon. The farmers market is held at the Chesnut square area. There are fresh grown vegetables, fruits, honey, beef jerky, baked goods, fresh flowers, homemade pickles, herbs. The coffee shop serves coffee from Brazil, Peru and Columbia - very good coffee. There is also a tamale stand which serves hot tamales from the Tamale Company. The petting zoo is small and has goats. One con of this market is that there are no food trucks or stalls. Overall, its a decent sized market and is a good pass time on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
This is a very quaint little farmers market. The parking is ample and the space is unique in that it is not a parking lot or street. The market is nestled in some historic buildings. The space is tight (our stroller barely fit and was a hassle). There is a good variety of vendors and even live music. Animal wise, there is a pig caged up (not sure who it belongs to) and pony rides on one of the streets adjacent to the market. It is mostly food and a few crafts. It runs weekly on Saturdays except in the winter when it switches to monthly. This is a good way to start your weekend!

Yelp
First time here ! Very nice place although small and crowded when I got there @ 9 am. Nice variety of items but could use more vendors . I

Yelp
Arrive early, bring cash, and look around before you buy. Multiple vendors carry many of the same vegetables and the price varies from booth to booth. This is a great way to get your Saturday morning started! These are just a few of the things you'll see: Grass fed beef Free range eggs Jams and jellies Olive oils Honey Homemade pickles Fresh herbs Nuts and trail mixes Vegetables Fruits Fresh cut flowers Baked goods Gluten free baked goods Arts and crafts

Yelp
It was refreshing to see an actual farmer's market with all local produce. And what I liked the most was that parking was simple and plentiful on a Saturday morning around 9. This isn't like the Dallas F.M. where there's miles of vendors and a million people. There were a good number of tents/stations (maybe 25?) selling a little bit of everything from dried pasta, honey, cobbler, art, to of course veggies and fruit. The pathway is rather small so if you do have a baby stroller or bring your puppy, just know it could be a little crowded. At the end of the pathway was a Rehoboth Ranch tent where you can buy their fresh farm raised meat (beef, pork, chicken/eggs and lamb). Overall, I really liked the smaller F.M. vibe. It's more intimate and I didn't feel like anyone was pouncing on you and forcing you to buy anything. Lots of happy energy here. Plus, there was a man with a guitar singing to the shoppers in the main area who was pretty awesome!

Yelp
Chestnut Square is beautifully amazing! Quaint, romantic, serene, friendly... The offerings are numberous: -- Reheboth Ranch (fantastic people!! It's best to pre-order so they will have what you are looking for as they sell out quickly! They have beef, pork, eggs & more) -- natural produce (several farmers to choose from) -- Roundrock Honey (great for allergies!) -- Face Painter (Alice is amazingly talented) -- mushrooms (Mike is super knowledgeable) -- handmade jewelry It is a wonderful place to stop by if you happen to be up early and in McKinney on a Saturday morning...

Yelp
I do love farmer's markets and I love McKinney. It's true, there are wonderful offering from fresh produce to fresh bread and dairy and eggs and meat and oils and...and...and. It's in the totally cute and historic Chestnut Square. There's a goat pen around the corner that the kids love. You can buy tamales, or yogurt pops if you need to cool down. It's all super cute. The best stuff is the produce, so get there early or it will sell out (it's busy!). Other than the produce, it can be pretty expensive. The other vendors aren't local vendors selling their crops, they're more artisan vendors selling near-luxury items. So, if you're into organic or "real food", you've totally hit the jackpot. If you're looking for cheap, healthy, local food, you might find less that you can afford. I treat the McKinney Farmer's Market as a special, fun outing. I've learned that if I just want to pick up a little whole bread, fresh local produce, and Lucky Layla dairy products, I can just hit up Patina Green and the Local Yocal in McKinney Square instead. It's the same stuff, sometimes a little cheaper.

Yelp
Pony rides, food, live music, and farm fresh produce. Great way to spend a Saturday morning! Yee, haw, pardner! ;-) ;0) :o)

Yelp
We really enjoy this farmers market. Small but has everything that I like. I'm getting to know the different farmers so, it makes it even better to purchase fruits and veggies from LOCAL FARMERS !!
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
So I know this sounds weird, but I don't really buy produce here. What I DO buy: Mushrooms from the mushroom guy--the portobellas are HUGE and great for burgers Bread from the St. Lucia Bread Company--get blueberry, pear, chocolate...ok you can't go wrong (and they're not THAT bad nutrition-wise, either) Olive oil & Balsamic vinegar---you can't miss the couple that sell this. You can taste whatever you want. I have Pomegranate, Black & White, Garlic, Rattlesnake, etc. They're 3/$25. Excellent for salads, general cooking, bread dipping, etc. Luck Layla Farms--they actually have a new name now, but try the Yogurt cheese or regular yogurt. All good. The whole experience is quick and fun. Everyone is really laid-back. They also have the Farmers Market Thursday nights at Adriatica, but I've never been.

Yelp
Great place: I checked it out when I was in town and I was delightfully surprised. The tamale was tasty and the goat cheese vendor had great stuff for a low price.
google avatar

Beth B.

Yelp
There are more vendors at the summer farmer's market than at the winter season market. They also schedule live entertainment. So far I've caught a great magic show and live music. Products you HAVE to try are: the drinkable yogurt from Lucky Layla Farms and the cinnamon raisin bread and traffic jam from Rosey Ridge Farm. Cafe Malaga serves food out there consistently and I think that Spoons Cafe is out there every weekend too. Check the Chestnut Square website for other events going on that day and combine events. Sometimes they have stagecoach rides.

Yelp
I finally got down to the farmer's market with Brandy last Saturday!!! We had a great time wandering through all of the historic houses finding so many things we wanted to have. There is not only farmers with fruits and veggies but some cool crafty things like organic soaps, yarn (the ladies were making it right there, cool), quilting. Of course Honey! This month ice cream is featured. There was an ice cream crank off & other fun stuff for little ones...bounce houses, face painting. Fresh, variety, history. Great morning! I'll be making myself a regular.

Yelp
I love this open air market. Vendors bring fresh goods every Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm. Everything from fresh lavender bushels, to honey, to the dairy truck bringing fresh, local dairy products (try the yogurt shots). If you get a chance to get out there, pretty much all the vendors know each other, everything is organic and delicious and (as far as I know) hormone free. The meat vendors are the best, because once you've had free range chicken (or beef or lamb or turkey or pork), you'll never go back to that grocery store junk. Highly recommend people stopping in next weekend. (It runs from the end of April to the end of October every year). Most of the vendors also have websites, which can be seen on the main website listed, or picked up at the vendor's booth. If you want fresh eggs, go early, they run out quick! Also, bring mostly cash.; only a couple vendors take credit cards. (The vendors include Cafe Malaga - who always bring good things to snack on! From Hummwiches to bacon wrapped dates {my fave}). Parking is by the old courthouse in McKinney, just south of the downtown square. Again, its best to get there early, and the entrance is a bit hidden, it is an opening along the row of houses, covered in ivy. Just watch people and you'll see where the opening is. Also, bring your re-usable grocery tote so we can save the environment :0) Because it is off the beaten path, a wheelchair could get in there, but it may be difficult to get to some vendors that are in the dirt (which sometimes is mud).
google avatar

Yelp
Love it! So cool! You'll find something different every single weekend; from fresh fruit and veg to the cool Tamale Guy, to beautiful plants to take home and don't forget the locally grown and made olive oil. It's sad that it's closed for the season and I can't wait until it reopens next year!
google avatar

Yelp
This is so great! my kids love it. I'm more likely to get them to eat the veggies they pick out at the farmer's market than anywhere else. They have a little of everything, fruit, veggies, breads, jams, meet, fresh eggs, milk, and tons of other items. If you haven't had a chance to visit, do on a Saturday! The only thing I wish is that it was open longer! You got to get there early if you want eggs though-those go quickly!

Lesa A.

Yelp
My first trip and everything was great loved my purchases except for one vendor, Delicious Delights out of Plano TX, I was making a purchase and I question the seal on the jars they did appear to be sealed, so when I got home I took the ring off and as I suspected the jars weren't sealed properly and the lid inside was scratched and rusted. needless to say that was a wasted 7.00 purchase, Very disappointed in the olive relish vendor.......BUT the Honey vendor had the best Honey and I bought his last jar with honey comb when I got home I couldn't wait to open the jar and take a piece of the comb out and chew it like I did as a small girl at my grandparents house, oh my took me back 50 yrs what a delight.

Trish S.

Yelp
First its easy to find parking and there is a very nice family vibe. The miniture poneys and baby goat pen makes little kids so happy, it gives such a nice welcome. People have their dogs and eveybody is chill. Its not crowded.and there is not hundreds of people and vendors screaming for attention. The fruit and veg are good value. Don't miss the bee man! He has everything from honey to candles and rhe best lotion that makes your skin feel soft without feeling greasy or heavy on face. Get the lavender, very calming. No heavy perfume. The art and crafts are very original. The mushroom man has the best selection and are very flavourful. Mushrooms have narural healing power s and great for the immune system. He was the first to tell me never store in plastic wrap only paper, because it sapps the flavour and freshness. Wish i didn't have to pay cash so much. But some vendors do debit. Nice little gem tucked ofd the main path.

Lynn D.

Yelp
This is a wonderful Farmers Market. The best in the DFW area. The vendors are extremely friendly and know all about their products. They make you feel welcome each Saturday. There are craft vendors who have lovely items for sale. Dixie's Store, the gift shop, is open on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon during the Farmers Market. A very enjoyable outing on a Saturday morning.
