30k for ticket. There are total 18 main areas from early to moderate and modern history. The artifacts are still in excellent condition, extremely well preserved and clean. Especially the mummies and pottery. Stories and myths are details and attractiveness.

This was the least interesting destination for me during my trip to HCMC. The museum has many relics and a variety of displays, and I was surprised to see a preserved body, or what appeared to be a life-like replica, on display. Many local art students were there, sketching the artifacts, which is commendable, as I couldn’t even tolerate 5 minutes in the stuffy rooms during the morning heat due to the lack of AC. The souvenir shop in the middle doesn’t offer the most affordable items. Overall, it was a rather meh experience for me. I imagine it could be much more engaging for someone with a deeper interest in culture and history.

Been here twice already. Great chance to learn some fascinating facts about Vietnamese ethnic groups, Chinese presence over centuries and see variety of ancient artifacts from pottery and decorations to coins and swords.

BEWARE coconut saler scam in the area! Chaotic day to go anywhere on the 2nd of September, the 80th National Day. The museum is partly in construction but still has a lot to go see! I love the little pond and garden after the entrance. There are many interesting facts and pieces of history here in this museum! The zoo next door was insane!

A must visit for history buffs where exhibits showcase the prehistoric period to the metal age. Other exhibits are about various Vietnamese dynasties. There’s a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the building.

A fascinating museum, though the upkeep and ventilation fall short. You’ll likely be sweating as you try to concentrate on the remarkable exhibits. The audio guide can make the visit much easier.

In my opinion, this is one of the best museums in Ho Chi Minh City. It's definitely worth a visit! The exhibits are varied and truly unique! Admission is 60 VND (cash is best).

What really stood out was how everything is laid out in a way that’s easy to follow, even if you’re not a history buff. It feels like traveling through time and learning about Vietnam’s past in one thoughtfully curated package. The museum itself is housed in a beautiful colonial era building, and the peaceful garden outside adds to the charm. It’s not a massive museum, but it’s packed with meaningful displays and doesn’t overwhelm you with too much at once. Overall, it was a highlight of our trip. Whether you’re just curious about Vietnam’s roots or already passionate about Southeast Asian history, this museum is well worth a visit. Just remember to go early for the best experience!
