How to Spend 3 Days Traveling Route 66 in Missouri
"At the History Museum on the Square I enjoyed traveling through eight interactive galleries that trace how Springfield and the region shaped American history, including exhibits on Native Americans, the Civil War, and a cool display about the Wild Bill Hickok shootout considered the first Old West shootout." - Matthew Kepnes
Very cool musuem, nice displays very warm and welcoming. Nice native American displays and very clean. Elevator center of building great access for people with disabilities, or stairs to get your cardio in lol. Will be back nice little hidden gem in downtown springfield.

Absolutely loved this place. Honestly was not expecting it to be as fun and informational as it was. Don't let the size of the building fool you. Lots of unique things to see and do. My favorite was the the trolley and the route 66 exhibit .

This place is so fun, and beautifully organized. I'm looking forward to going more. The interactive kid displays were phenomenal. My children really enjoyed the Wild Bill shoot out area, and the trolley and train exhibits. The game in the train was really hard and the last activity we did before it was time to go, but my oldest asked if we could go back. Absolutely stop in!!

My bf and I got a free pass from the Library (as long as you have a Springfield Library card you can get a free pass for a week) and it was totally worth it. Very interesting seeing the history of Springfield and the surrounding area. Also they had a route 66 exhibit that was really cool. I definitely recommend it!
