Famed ‘Sideways’ Restaurant Will Open New Wine Tasting Room in Buellton | Eater LA

"Founders Frank Ostini and Gray Hartley are opening a new tasting room next to their iconic restaurant, aiming for a July 2018 opening; because the space was most recently a tasting room called Point Conception Wines, the revamp should be quick. Guests will be able to sample various vintages while enjoying a small menu of wine-friendly lunch bites served on an outdoor patio. Ostini — whose California restaurant and wine career spans decades and who specializes in red oak–fired barbecue and steaks at the restaurant — and Hartley launched their winery in 1979 and now produce about 17,000 cases a year. The restaurant and wines gained international attention after the 2004 film Sideways, and the pair were early advocates of California pinot noirs; they also contend that Sideways unfairly maligned merlot, which they say grows well on the Central Coast and deserves more respect." - Mona Holmes

The ribs were overwhelming delicious. The wine tasting pours were tiny—seriously, small as hell. We did two tastings and ended up paying $60 for what was basically 8 ounces total. Right after, we stopped by Kaena, and it was 100% better—actual pours and a way better experience overall

We stopped here for lunch and they have BBQ Burgers. If you enjoy beer, you have to sit in a different area. The staff was great, very attentive, they made multiple trips to bring everything we needed. Don’t let the prices scare you away, you definitely get what you pay for. Don’t miss the brocolli salad, delicious! We had a party of 8, and the level of service and quality of food was 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve been fans of Hitching Post for a while and just had the pleasure of back to back tastings. One at flying Flags and then again the next day at the tasting room. Spencer took great care of us both days. Knowledgeable, kind and personable. We had our 3 year old with us and everyone was so kind and didn’t bat an eye 😊 The wine is excellent, love the Fiddlesticks Pinot and for a 95+ degree weekend, all the whites and pinks were perfect. The Pet Nat was especially great on a hot day. When there was a mix up in the wines we bought, Spencer came to us to make the swap for the correct bottle. 10/10 service! We’ll be back!!

This place is definitely wine in a million! I've made a lot of pour decisions in my life and super glad we visited this amazing winery. Dined the night before at their restaurant next door Hitching Post II and got the chance to enjoy some of their wine selections so decided to swing by the winery the next day to sample some of the other wines I didn't get a chance to try. So glad I did as this wine tasting was definitely the highlight of my vacation. We were welcomed by the host with the most Aaron when we got there just before opening time. It was amazing to hear him regale us with the history and future plans for Hitching Post Wines. The conversation and the wine was just perfect and one of the most memorable ones we've had sober or not :) Also had the pleasure of meeting owner and legendary wine maker Frank Ostini. Our visit here reminds me that wine is more than just it grapes. The best ones are the ones that were cultivated, nurtured and coaxed to excellence by passionate individuals like Frank and Aaron. Cheers to Frank, Aaron and the Hitching Post team! We love your Pinot and maybe, just maybe drink a glass of Merlot if anyone orders it (sorry Miles!). All in all, this is a wine-derful place to sip and enjoy life~

I've always gone to Hitching Post restaurant when I go to Solvang and had to go and try their new wine tasting room. A lovely place to try all of their good wines if you haven't try it at their restaurant. Did not fail to amaze me. Could not go home without taking some bottles. Yummm.

Google
Terrific option if you can't get to the Hitching Post for dinner or if you've your dog with you. Terrific selection of wine and really good lunch food options. Sit outside and enjoy the view or sit inside if you want. Gotta try the burger next time I'm there!

2025.01.19 - Tasty ribs, tasty burger all oak grilled pair nicely with solid wines. Nice place, aside from a small indoor seating area the seating is outside where you can smell the smoke of the grill and see the ostrich farm off in the distance. The 2018 Sanford and Benedict Pinot Noir paired well with the delicious BBQ ribs that had a sauce that was more jelly and glaze than sauce with a very slight kiss of heat to the flavor. The Oak Grilled burger was also delicious, though over cooked. The hosts were all friendly and accommodating, great staff. We tried a glass of the 2018 Sanford and Benedict - Pinot noir - tasty and bold for a pinot noir. Subtly nuts? Maybe walnuts?

Stayed in the area again, and after work I had lunch here. I had the steak sandwich with caramelized onions as I was relaxing enjoying the view and the food. Can't wait to come back but for dinner🥩

Yelp
We received a buy 1 tasting get 1 free coupon from our hotel and decided to give this place a shot, and man are we glad we did! Service: very kind and attentive staff. You walk up and order yourself, you're handed a number, then the staff will bring your food out to you. While you wait, you can head over to the wine bar and order yourself a tasting. Atmosphere: plenty of outdoor seating with an amazing view of the mountains and ostriches roaming. Family and friends sat and chatted with soft music playing in the background. Very dog friendly. Food: ORDER THE STEAK & CARAMELIZED ONION SANDWICH!! My husband ordered it and I was very jealous. I ordered the steak salad which was nice, but that sandwich was delicious. We also ordered the grilled artichoke which was very flavorful and the dipping sauce was delicious. Wine: our favorite was the Kick On Pinot Noir. I'm not much of a drinker, definitely not of red wine, and this was even my favorite. Overall, we're very pleased with our experience and will be back during our next visit to Solvang. Next time we will be checking out Hitching Post 2 for dinner!

Yelp
A laid back setting for a wine tasting experience. I love their Pinot noir especially and they also serve some great BBQs. You can just order at the counter, pick up a spot and they deliver the food to you.

Yelp
Had the best time tasting wine and having a hitching post lunch! The service is walk up and they bring everything to you. The ribs and tritip tacos were pretty good! I enjoyed the dinner on our previous trip better but the food was still good. The wines were great and the views were beautiful! It was pretty windy so we sat indoors, which was kind of warm. The tasting room was gorgeous and they had a little museum that I loved! Overall great times and a great winery to visit in Buellton!

Yelp
be advised, this is NOT where Miles and Jack from Sideways come for dinner. that's Hitching Post 2, next door, which, unfortunately, is not open for lunch. no biggie, this spot is amazing for lunch. great views on the outdoor area. great wines to taste, as well as beer options. food was delicious and of high caliber. very nice, friendly service and we will come back.

Yelp
Came here for lunch recently after wanting to try it for a long time! I tried to place the take out order over the phone, but they wouldn't let me and said I had to go in. I realize most people are probably there enjoying wine and getting food to eat at the same time, I just wasn't there for the wine and wanted to try the food. The counter to order food is outside and pretty easy to find. I had to wait in a line, so clearly they are popular, but my food came out pretty quick. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with Italian dressing. They give plenty of dressing, which is nice. All of the veggies are fresh and I love the grilled bell pepper on the salad. My only complaint is the salad seemed to be lacking in protein. We received a pretty small amount of chicken. Otherwise, this place is great and we'll definitely come back to try other things. Parking is super easy and there are tables to sit on to wait for your food.

Yelp
The service was excellent! My fiancé & I ordered lunch and a few bottles to go. We enjoyed the views & the music. The wine was good too! Looking forward to visiting again.

Yelp
What a great spot! We love to stop for lunch and a bottle of Pinks. The burger is phenomenal as well as the steak sandwich with caramelized onions! The view is captivating and will keep you sitting for hours! A just stop when on the 246.

Yelp
What beautiful Pinot noirs you can find here!! An exceptional wine tasting room with great warm and friendly service and views for miles! Sit out back and order the best lunch available in the Santa Ynez Valley, sit under the mighty oaks and watch the ostriches frolick at Ostrichland while you eat, (it's like being on safari in Africa!!) and then step inside the wine room to do a wine tasting. We were treated like royalty here. We joined the wine club we loved it so much! DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE if you travel to the Santa Ynez Valley!

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in for a lunchtime visit yesterday during our trip to Solvang. We were a little disappointed that lunch was still being served outside at the wine venue; however, our lunch was absolutely delicious! Our last visit in the summer was sweltering. This visit it was not too bad sitting outside, breezy and refreshing. All the staff were wearing masks and I was surprised by the number of people walking in to the outdoor facility wearing a mask. My wife ordered their cheeseburger and I their steak and fries. To top our lunch off we had a bottle of Hitching Post Highliner Pinot Noir. The burger and steak were cooked perfectly to order and well seasoned! French fries were crisp and plentiful! Are wine truly delicious! We hope to be able to stop at least one more time before we depart Solvang. Thank you very much! Keep up the great work!

Yelp
The best part about wine tasting in the valley is all the wonderful options you have such as Hitching Post Winery which is fairly new as of August 2018. My friend brought me here because she wanted to try out their lunch menu. Not only can you do wine tasting here but they also serve lunch from 11:30 - 2pm on the weekends, and remain open until 8pm on Saturday, and 5pm on Sunday for wine tasting. On my visit we had lunch and tried a couple of wines; well maybe 3 lol but who's counting. For food I ordered the oak grilled cheeseburger $11 + fries for an additional $3. The burger also came with a small side of broccoli salad which was amazing! The grilled burger itself was cooked perfectly (medium well). My friend had the steak salad which she let me try, and although I don't care for medium rare meat this was actually quite tasty! It had a nice smoky flavor, and it was perfectly seasoned. We also tried their grilled artichoke served Santa Maria BBQ style; which was outstanding. I highly recommend it if you like artichokes! The way the food is delivered was pretty cool having someone come by on a bike cart playing some nice tunes such as Funky Town lol. There's a lot of choices when it comes to seating here. The outdoor picnic area which has gorgeous views of the Santa Ynez Mountains, and river landscape. An enclosed patio for those that wish to be indoors but still have views of the mountains and river. And last their beautiful cottage style tasting room. I love that they have several options to choose from with plenty of seating. Apparently HH is known for their Pinot Noirs, but on my visit of course I opted for yep you guessed it! A glass of their dry rosé because rosé all day right? The prices are very reasonable here for a glass of wine. My friend chose the White Dahlia Sauvignon Blanc for only $8 a glass, and their glasses are huge! She also purchased a bottle of their 2012 Four Top which is a nice blend of 47% Merlot, and 46% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very smooth and easy on the pallet. "Four Top" is a reference and honoring of the Hitching Post II restaurant, and not because it has four different blends just to be clear. The customer service here was very casual yet the ladies that were on duty kept coming around to check on us, and kept our tables clear once we finished our meal. Very friendly all around. I could go on and on about this beautiful winery, but you just have to see for yourself what they have to offer. I promise you will not be disappointed! Looking forward to my next visit to check out their popular Pinots.

Yelp
Having wine and summer afternoon bites at the Hitching Post was truly an experience! First and foremost, the staff was so great and gave great recommendations; The scenery is peaceful and showcases the beauty and diversity of California landscapes. The wine is tasty and there's a good variety, but the rosé was my favorite! A huge plus for serving Topo Chico sparkling water--my favorite! I can't wait to visit again soon and I recommend you pay them a visit if you want to experience true California wines.

Yelp
The husband and I were Yelpers before there was a Yelp... We just didn't know it yet. We were early adopters to most things and the wine business was no exception. I worked in the wine industry (and my husband and I both received certification, something fun for a couple to do). When I returned to college and attended grad school, the best part during breaks, was traveling and tasting wine for free. It was an industry standard, plus 20% off merchandise and wine. Those were the days! Infact, Sideways the film came out during those school days. We basically completed the Sideways Tour and never got to Yelp about it, until this modified return for our anniversary trip this weekend, we returned to a place that captured our foodie hearts on our first visit. Another place that put wine on the map. Some highlights of the original nostalgic Sideways tour involved visiting Foxen (where the dog Queenie took a nip at me, you can look her up, in the book of winery dogs) and tasting the "magic stuff" at the Hitching Post for the first time. Although, probably a seasoning you can make it at home, but it's only $6.00 per shaker w/Hitching Post flair. Just the idea of ditching Merlot forever (always thinking if I had a baby girl (human or dog) I'd name her Syrah, perhaps a classier wine name), but hey we had boys around (not girls). To top off this return, the Hitching Post does not disappoint for a California Pinot Noir. It doesn't hurt the Hitching Post also makes the best steak in town. On this trip, the new tasting room is located next to the Hitching Post II and you can have lunch and appetizers delivered to the patio, especially when you are traveling with your pup. Pinot Noir, a steak salad and a grilled artichoke, time with my loves. Call it Sideways again, I will go with that position. PS The chef wanted to meet Kindle (our boy dogs name) as he was dressed in his Padre costume as he visited the Central Coast Missions. #Buellton #TheHitchingPost #SidewaysForever #PinotNoir #WineTasting #MagicStuff #KindleOnAMission

Yelp
Absolutely excellent! The staff was friendly and attentive. Lots of well spaced outdoor seating. The steak sandwich with caramelized onions was fantastic.

Yelp
Ambiance and space was the best part for sure! Definitely kid friendly and even had a little kid size picnic bench. The wines were good and the service was excellent. Wines were very well explained and pacing was spot on. We will for sure be back. They also have food options but we didn't try them. They looked great though!

Yelp
Great wine tasting experience, the views are beautiful with Osterich in the fields below, staff is very friendly and the food is the best, whether it's here or at the restaurant. BUT I do have a negative, the music playing at the tasting room/outside areas is very annoying, almost enough to drive you away. Not easy listening, when you want to enjoy wine and relax. I would have given this place a 5 star had it not been for the music. Please please change your music or no music at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Ate at the bar for a lite bite. Ordered the appetizer artichoke which was cooked perfectly and came accompanied by an amazing dipping sauce. Also ordered a side salad with ranch. The ranch was fantastic. I so wish the salad either came pre-tossed or in smaller bite sized pieces; but good overall. Ordered a shrimp cocktail which came with baby bay shrimp. Loved that! 5 stars for the food that we did eat. Minus 1 for the waitress who was pre-occupied to the extent that 2 people dining and drinking at the bar had to deliberately get her attention for service. I will definitely be back to try dinner

Delightful experience! Beautiful grounds, tasty wine and really friendly, knowledgeable service. Ample parking and a very friendly welcome. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Perfection. A little over ten years ago, I was introduced to the HP2 burger (on burger night in the bar at the Hitching Post 2) and the Highliner. It was one of the best meals of my life, no joke. Imagine my excitement upon learning of this newly built tasting room, complete with a small lunch menu (from 11 to 2 daily) that has those BURGERS that literally melt in your mouth. Pair that with a glass of highliner....you will float away into oblivion while in your food coma. The building is right next to the HP2, has ample parking, beautiful sweeping views, mature trees, bountiful benches, tables, and rustic chairs carefully placed throughout the property. Games such as cornhole or interesting board games were available for patrons. The ordering of food was towards the back of the property, outside. You pay there and take your table number signage and pick your spot to relax and take it all in. You can pop inside to the tasting room to buy a glass, carafe, etc for your meal. Square pay is utilized to make spending quite easy. The tasting room also had a nice selection of shirts, hoodies, caps, hats, and wine glasses for fans. The property also had a vintage airstream which looks like it will be converted into something epic fairly soon. (I love airstreams...an airstream shop is on the other side of the hitching post 2) Exciting times for the Ostini family! The tasting room is a work of art. Go visit as soon as you can. If I didnt live over 4 hours away, I undoubtedly would be here daily. Yes, it's THAT good.

Yelp
We had a great time having lunch and wine at the Hitching Post. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a burger, and double order of fries, along with a bottle of White Dahlia wine, all of which we enjoyed on the outdoor patio. Service was great, the food was fresh and delicious, and the view was beautiful. We will definitely visit again soon.

Yelp
Went to Solvang on a 3-day weekend and everything was packed!! We had our dog with us and were looking for a quick bite with some wine. There was absolutely no parking and long lines in the small town of Solvang so we headed to Buelton to check into our hotel. I called ahead and asked if we could bring our pooch and they said yes!! We didn't wait long and ordered a burger with fries and a bottle of wine! The outdoor seating was saturated with beautiful scenery along with the ostrich farm next store. The food was great and fairly priced, short wait times, easy parking, and good service !! Overall I definitely recommend!:)

Yelp
I tried their 2017 Pinot and love it so much that I decided to order 4 bottles of it from their website a few months ago. They sent me all 2018 instead. I emailed them telling/asking about it and they never responded. I tried one today, and it's not nearly as good. Merry Christmas idiots. Please look into your fulfillment and customer service. I'm now out over a $100 for subpar wine.

Yelp
The Lunch Staff, and Wine Tasting Staff were The Best!! Extremely friendly, and genuine!! The Pulled Pork Street Tacos were 'To Die For' DELICIOUS!! The Wine Tasting Room was welcoming, upbeat, and FUN!! All my 'Tastes' on the 'White Wines' list were WINNERS!! I "revisited" the White Dahlia, than because of the loveliness, HAD to bring a bottle home!! I can't wait for our next visit here!! My appreciation to all of the Staff members there!!

Yelp
Great food, great wine, lovely staff, beautiful views. Make sure to pay this place a visit on your way in our out of Solvang!

Yelp
DON'T order the steak salad, unless you like your steak cold!!! Been to 5 star restaurants, where steak is grilled & put on the bed of lettuce, right before it's served to your table. Guessing it was the owner, because she was pretty insistent, the reason it's served cold, is because, it's the preference of HER & HER husband, "They like their salad that way". Maybe it should be stated on the menu, the steak is served cold, before people shell out $15 for a salad their not going to eat. Had to order something to replace the salad, for which I was charged full price, while I watched them toss the salad in the garbage. Unfortunate, because I was here two months ago & looked forward to returning.

Yelp
After watching Sideways Hitching post has been booked marked. This was our first visit during our anniversary get away. We made it just in time to order lunch and we're told we could ask to do a tasting outside the tasting room if they weren't busy. You could only sit on one side of the patio if you have wine by the glass or bottle with your food. So it's a bit limited. The tasting room is where you can do the tastings and it's small. So our food 5/5 my sandwich was so good my husband said he had the best veggie burger ever and the fries were just perfect. The food and the service from where we order was 5 stars but the tasting room experience was horrible. Two ladies working inside and at that time two ladies in the same party tasting so not busy. We asked if we could eat and sit anywhere they told us so we can also taste their wines. They said sure they younger lady was supposed to come out pour the wine we are literally outside the door. No one came I told my husband just to go inside to get our other tasting. He asked should we just come in? She said no I'll come out she never did my husband wanted to leave it was that bad but I was not going to let this ladies horrible service mess this up. So we eat and did the rest of our tasting inside. The lady with the wine cork tattoo finished helping us while I saw the other girl just walking around never even said oh! I'm sorry I forgot about you guys! It sucks because you have one lady working and the other pretending to do some work and killing the experience for people who drive out from far. I would love to try the restaurant but I wouldn't come back to the tasting room. The wine is good we buy it at the store all the time just to wish the service would have compared to the wine and food

Yelp
Loved the experience there. Wine is fantastic of course and the appetizers where impressive. The bread was roasted on the grill and it was the most amazing bread I have ever had. Come for lunch 11-2:00 pm get the burger.

Yelp
So it's well known that the wife and I are HUGE fans of the Hitching Post 2 next door. Without a doubt, they serve the best steaks we have ever had in California. We are also big fans of their wines. But when we heard they were finally going to open a Wine Tasting Room, we were super-duper excited! And when we heard it was right next door?!?!?! OMFG!! We used to frequent this location often when it was a nursery. In fact, we have a couple plants from the nursery in our own yard, thriving away. We were sad to see the nursery go...but when we heard that the the HP next door had bought the property and was going to turn it into a LONG overdue Tasting Room; well it just seemed like fate was playing a hand in things. This past Cinco de Mayo weekend we decided to visit Solvang and Santa Barbara for a much-needed getaway. We already had reservations on 5/4 next door at the HP2, so we came by here an hour before for a glass of wine. We love love love what they did with the grounds! The main building has a big bar for tasting, and a side room with a big table where private parties can enjoy themselves. The outside grounds have been converted to feature so many benches and tables and places to sit and sip and enjoy the scenery. There's ample space here for all kinds of fun events! The place serves lunch between 11-2. We were too late for that, but plan to give it a try another time. Bonus - the food is prepared by the HP2 next door!! Our Winetendress' name was Lisa, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. We decided to enjoy a glass of wine instead of a tasting flight...and wifey discovered she likes their new "White Dahlia' varietal. She made our first visit a joy! We will certainly be back when we are in the area. It's going to be fun and interesting to see how they develop this place in the future. It's already wonderful now but has soooo much potential! Certainly worth a visit, whether you're a "Sideways" fan or not!

Yelp
Enjoyed a wine tasting. Friendly staff. Tried several pinots and bought a couple of bottles.

Yelp
OK, so there are really two things to review at this one location. There's the Hitching Post winery tasting room and then there's the Hitching Post lunch annex that's out back. Lets start with lunch :-) A friend had mentioned that the HPII was now serving lunch out behind their new tasting room (next door to the main HPII restaurant). To a local this was a head-snapping "say what" moment as the HP has never done lunch service, and I was quite eager to get my hands on an oak grilled HP burger for lunch. And I was NOT disappointed. The same thick, juicy burger cooked to order (perfectly mid rare for me) was a delight to behold and tasted every bit as good as it looked. The steak salad was also quite delicious so, as far as we can tell, the lunch service at the HPII is to die for and we will be back as often as possible! Its a bit of a no-frills operation out back, you order at the entrance, you can sit outside at a number of picnic tables that overlook the river bottom and the ostrich farm in the distance. If the weather is less amenable there is a 3 season porch area that has several tables that allow dining mostly indoors. And, although there really isn't any "service" , ( you order at a table on the way in and get a number for your table) the service is wonderful and everyone is super friendly and very intent on you having a great meal and a good experience. Over on the tasting room side, they've got a really nice tasting set up with some very friendly and quite knowledgeable folks running things. Hitching Post Wines has always been known for superlative Pinot Noir's and they can still lay claim to a line-up of solid performers. There are good Syrah's and an nice Chardonnay as well as a very nice Bordeaux blend on offer as well. Overall, the Hitching Post Tasting room can't be beat for food and does pretty darn well for wine too! :-)

Yelp
Sideways movie fans world-wide are thrilled to announce that The Hitching Post (II) has opened a tasting room for their wines! Of course, you can still enjoy their wines at both of their restaurant locations in Buellton (right next door) and Casmalia. They have done a great job with the space by having a humongous outdoor patio with games, plus three total wine tasting bars. The pourer was not overly friendly at first but eventually opened up and was extremely knowledgeable. They have two separate tasting menus, and plenty of pinot noirs to choose from. Be sure to check them out when in the Buellton/Los Olivos wine country!

Yelp
The new Hitching Post tasting room is a great way to showcase the fantastic wines that represent the Gray Hartley and Frank Ostini. Although their wines were always easily available, it's nice to see them get the presentation they deserve in this space. The tasting room has a nice layout with plenty of space for guests to taste the fantastic wines. They're of course known for their fantastic Pinot Noirs, but I'd also like to point out that they have a wonderful Merlot and a white blend called White Dahlia. They also happen to serve lunch here. I ordered the steak and caramelized onions sandwich, and it was absolutely wonderful! The sweetness of the onions went perfectly with the classic Hitching Post seasoning of the meat. The rest of the menu looks great, too, and I'm excited to come back and try the burger. If you're heading down the 246, definitely stop in here for some wine and lunch!

Yelp
It's iconic... but I wasn't blown away. It's "rat-pack" environment steak house with a schtick. The grill is nice, but not barbecue. I had the duck. It was flavored with liquid smoke. The fillet was bland. The shrimp cocktail reminded me of the ones you got on the Las Vegas strip in the 70's for 99 cents. Still, popular with the locals and tourists and I guess ya' gotta go at least once. That's why I added a star: if this was a local place, I would give it 2 stars meaning I would only go there if someone wanted to.

Yelp
Charming place to have a tasting- and the best part is dogs allowed! Great place to grab a glass outside and relax on a nice day or head inside to the air conditioned tasting room if it's hot outside. Beautiful area and easy to find. Also close to other wineries!

Yelp
Was really happy with the lunch serving staff. Excellent. Seating is mostly outside overlooking a panoramic view of the surrounding valley and Ostrich farm. Very good wine sampling, we had it by the glass. The food was well prepared, I had the street tacos (pulled pork) it was well seasoned and very good. The others in the party was also happy with the meal. Only complaint was someone said there salad was to big. They allow well behaved dogs.

Yelp
Our bachelorette party had such a lovely time here. Good wine, we liked the Rose and Chardonnay. The food was fantastic! Don't miss the tri-tip tacos, steak salad and French fries. The artichoke was also delicious. The service was great and the people here are so friendly and nice

Yelp
Loved the tasting room! Such a nice opportunity to try the Hitching Post wines. It also has a great view from the back patio and a few different games to play. I can't wait to go back to try the lunch options!

Yelp
Wine, Food, Atmosphere, Landscape / Views, History, Music...they have it all. What a great place for lunch, wine tasting, snacks or grabbing a bottle and hitting the road for a picnic. A must stop while visiting the area or a staple for those fortunate enough to live near by.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch, and was blown away. Incredible food. So delicious and so fun to have a view of the ostriches! Highly recommend. Such a wonderful stop. Didn't get a chance to try the wine, food only.

Yelp
What a great tasting room just off the 101... the wines are as good as it gets but the best part is the wonderful staff pouring. We learned so much about their wines. Great that you can get Hitching Post food from the to go spot during the day.

Yelp
A wonderful spot to do some wine tasting and grab an appetizer while waiting on your table at Hitching Post! Great, friendly service and delicious wine!
