Bincho is originally from Nagoya, which is where hitsumabushi originated from. This Bincho is conveniently located inside Marunouchi Building, adjacent to Tokyo Station. And they have private rooms, which was really nice.
With hitsumabushi, you're supposed to eat the unagi (eel) 3 different ways:
- First, by itself with rice
- Second, with seasoning like seaweed and wasabi
- Third, as ochazuke, pouring green tea on it
I actually generally only eat unagi by itself but still love hitsumabushi because of how the unagi is cooked and cut. It's soft on the inside and deliciously crispy on the outside.
I ordered the regular Hitsumabushi (3,850 yen) and it was as delicious as usual. My friends and I had a nice time and I hope to return again with my family soon.
