Hitt Records seems to always have like 6 records I've been looking for. Some rare finds, too. Friendly and helpful owner loves to talk about vinyl, and isn't pretentious about it either. This is my favorite store in Columbia.

Absolutely a wonderful experience! Hitt Records has an incredible inventory, superb customer service, and a very cool vibe. Taylor and Kyle have built a really cool business here. If they could bottle their plan, other businesses would fall over themselves to copy it. Good job guys.

Excellent record store, good variety of music genres. I grew up listening to the best Prog-Rock fm station in St. Louis in the late 60's and 70's. I am able to find albums from that era to fill out my album collection. They have fair prices (especially compared to some other places in the state) and the people are great!

My husband and I always hit up this record store when we are in Columbia and we NEVER leave empty handed!!!

When you've been looking for a couple of grails to add to your collection, and find them here within about 30 seconds, this is the place to visit. I've been following Hitt on Instagram for some time. I finally made the trip and loved it! Such a good selection.

This place is INCREDIBLE!! I would highly recommend going here if you are anywhere close by and needing a vinyl fix! They have everything organized and clean everything before they sell it. Great selection and they had some albums I had been looking forever to find!

I can't say enough good things about Hitt Records. Taylor and Kyle have an incredible inventory, and they have mastered the art of customer service. You can find any genre you seek in here, and their prices are very competitive. Do not miss a chance to stop in, and peruse their inventory! Absolutely a killer place.

I really enjoy Hitt Records. I'm in Columbia from time to time for Mizzou, and I always make a stop. Nice selection, good prices, and they have killer bargain bins that I always find something good in! Folks working are always laid back, and most times I go it's not super crowded. Bonus points for cool stickers. They honestly rival some shops in St. Louis.

I really want to give this store high marks. Cool vibe and they pack a lot of great vinyl in a small place, but when I got home and pulled out one of the used vinyls it was the wrong album. Was bummed and two hours away, so oh well, reminder for 'buyer beware'. Rookie mistake and should have known better

Fantastic record store. Good people, and they get special orders quickly. They also listen to weird, mostly unheard music in the store, which I appreciate! Good location as well. If I had to complain about anything, it is that the store is too small! A little hard to navigate when more than 5 people are in there. But man, it rocks!

I dropped by Hitt Records while in town for the Roots N Blues Music Festival. It's in what I assume was a former mechanic garage, sharing space with another business. From the outside I anticipated it being a small store. Inside, I found it to play bigger than the space they have - a great thing! Like other stores, the higher priced/rarer records line the walls. Saw several things I'd never seen before in person (big plus). Overall selection was organized pretty well and easy to navigate. Pricing was fair and balanced against average pricing. Upstairs (an old attic?) I found $3 and $1 records in great supply and condition. My purchases were just smalls, but a good selection at that. The best part about the store for me was the clerk - wish I'd had asked for his name (sorry!). He was one of the friendliest guys I've met in a record store - helpful and courteous both. They had store stickers, so I was sure to grab one out the door to add to my traveling trunk. Parking is metered everywhere, so be sure to bring loose change with you. I'd absolutely recommend this store for new and savvy collectors alike. While in CoMo, make this one of your must stops.

I was visiting from out of town and ran across this amazing place. The girl that assisted me was knowledgeable and so helpful. I swear if I had more time and cash I would have purchased half the store. There was a Bobby Hutcherson San Francisco album playing that blew me away. And I now regret that I left without it. Love this place!

I never leave yelp reviews but I felt the need to with Hitt Rex. Workers are super friendly, and they give really good music recommendations. Their selection of music is perfect, and you're always bound to leave with a record any time you go.

Overall, great record shop. I came here a few weeks ago to peruse and found myself digging through the tubs. One of the only downsides for me was the organization of the store seemed a bit scattered. But I love the exterior, it seems like it's an old garage, and inside the ambiance was relaxed, with helpful workers and records playing. A great spot to swing by in CoMO- worth your time!

So awesome! They have all of the greatest albums of all time on vinyl! I would definitely take all of my friends there to check out the vibes and wig out on some groovy tunes. All and all is say it's a Hitt! I wish they could fix my cassette deck in my Camaro but it's all good.

I have never posted a yelp review before, but feel the need to with Hitt Recs. This is the best record store I have ever been to in my life. The staff is incredibly helpful and enthusiastic about their jobs. They go over the top to make sure you leave the door happy. They have the best prices of any place I have been to. I can't say enough how amazing this place is. If you are in Columbia, Hitt Records is a place you must visit. You won't be disappointed.
