The food is amazing. Very very reasonably priced. Big portions. The only issue is the service. We had to ask for a menu. We had to ask for a refill. We had to ask for sauces and utensils. Will come back again but the service needs to be better.

The place was clean and spacious. The food was good... more on the greasy side but big portions. Service was fast, and the building got packed. I'm glad I was finally able to try this place out. Will definitely be back.

Google
Just having dinner with my family at "Hongkong Cafe". The food are good as the pictures i attach. The sizzling steak also good. Super soft cames with gravy likes mushroom, garlic and black pepper. The milk tea also yummy! Dont miss the hongkong bread with ovaltine topping for your dessert! Make sure you NOT go to Hongkong cafe at 162 because this one closed already!!

Google
Food selection is good, and the taste is decent. The flavors have a fusion with US style leaning towards saltiness and larger portions. The service has a very typical Hong Kong tea restaurant "style".

Google
The food is good, I didn’t expect much of service considering they are a HK café restaurant. The price is very decent and that’s what it got me.

Let's Go

Google
This restaurant is cha chang tan style. It won't knock your socks off, but you will be very happy with the value you get. The portion is big. The triple steaks came on a big plate filled with foods. The drinks come with free refills. The food quality is above average. Come here if you want to stuff yourself with little money.

Google
It was a crowded Saturday afternoon, and I waited about 15-20 mins for a table. The restaurant is understaffed. Most patrons are patient, some customers are grumpy where the waitress will be rude to them. The price for breakfast is great and portions are very generous. Food quality could be hit or miss. Parking could be chaotic during peak hour. You will see regular patrons grab napkins, menu, utensils, sauces, condiments, to-go boxes and plastic bags on their own due to the shortage of staff.

Google
This is a HK style Cafe. The portions are large. It's hard to find good fried intestines. This was clean and legit. The star of the show here is the baked filet with tomato sauce. Got to balance out with some peanut sprouts for vegetables. The quail didn't taste as fresh or good as the chicken wings. The salted fish fried rice could use a little more salted fish and chicken pieces but it was still good. Unpictured was pork cutlet - it was crispy but a little more moist would be better. This is a simple Hong Kongnese style. It's an LA thing but apparently, there is free refill for Lemon Tea. Wow. Mind is blown and happy. Amazing!

Yelp
HK Cafe is my go-to Hong Kong diner in SGV. Delicious food and huge portions, and the prices are fair. Great value! We always order a slew of dishes and there's so much that we have to pack it to go. The food is just as good the next day. The parking lot is small, but we always manage to get a spot. This is a great place to enjoy good food with family and friends. Very casual dining. The place is busy, and the service is quick. The servers take your order, bring it to the tables quickly, then leave you alone to enjoy your food, family and friends. Don't worry, if you need something, just flag down a server and they gotchu! My faves include: beef chow fun, chicken chow mein, crispy tofu with three ingredients, grilled chicken steak (we like it with mushroom gravy). I can go on and on! The food never disappoints. Although there is an outdoor patio, it's next to the parking lot and you're exposed to car exhaust and cigarette smoke. I recommend enjoying your food inside. Highly recommend HK Cafe. We always bring friends and family here and they're always delighted. Plus, they're open late!

Yelp
The food that we had here was really bland. Chow fun with gravy is my go to, very bland. My kids had breakfast, just basic eggs hash brown and pancakes. They were nothing special. My dad said his steak looked fake, but was ok. The thing that solidly puts this place at a two is the terrible service. The server basically quickly set my food down in front of me and went back to her video chat. WTF? Lol. She could have at least pretend to care by pausing the conversation. I never come to this place by choice, always an auntie or whoever wants to have breakfast here. Lots of better places, but if your auntie picks this one. Prepare for bland food and bad service.

Yelp
Came for weekend breakfast. Wasn't too busy today and parking was easy to find. Prices went up. Food tasted the same. Got the 咸豬肉菜乾粥 or Salty Pork w/ Preserved Vegetable Porridge and 豉油皇炒麵 or Chow Mein w/ Soy Sauce for $10.95. The porridge tasted like cigarettes! Also got the 香煎雞扒拼雙蛋 or Grilled Chicken Steak w/ Two Eggs and 薯餅 or Hash Brown for $11.75. Got the 紐約牛扒拼雙蛋 or New York Steak w/ Two Eggs and 法式蒜蓉包 or Garlic Bread for $14.25. The entrees came with drinks: coffee, lemon tea, or milk tea. All the food, except the porridge tasted great.

Yelp
On a Sunday morning in August, my sister and I took our mother to eat breakfast here. By 8:30am, there cafe was filled of people eating. There were booths and tables with tv's everywhere. We got a preserved egg jook 10.95w/hk milk tea, chow fun, chicken steak and eggs, wonton noodle soup w/lemon teas. My sister's dish came first then, bowl of jook which was thick in consistency with lots of preserved eggs, and wonton noodle soup arrived in a big bowl. For refill lemon teas, we walked up to the bar. Overall our breakfast was good and affordable. Next time I will checkout lunch deals run 11am to 5pm.

Yelp
Visitation Rights: Patronized the shop many times when the shop was formerly called Jr Cafe. Haven't really eaten at this place after the name change. Recent visit was last week. Note: They don't offer complimentary bowl of soup, no coffee time specials, During lunch, you'll have to pay $2 more for a drink (You can choose from lemon ice tea, milk tea, coffee, red bean ice, soda, chinese tea, and lemonade. Background On Recent Visit: Was in the area to grab an early dinner before meeting a friend at Molly Tea. Restrooms: They're available. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Location/Parking: Major cross streets are Valley and New Ave.. Parking can be found in their private parking lot, but I would recommend others to park along Valley. Ambiance/Decor: Okay ambiance with mordern furnishings. They have couple of flat screen tv's to watch sports. They also have a outdoor patio. Service: Service was okay and food came out at a decent time. Food Of Choice: I just had the baked sole fish. Don't really know if the dish is actually baked because it was served on a regular plate instead of those thicker ones that you see at other restaurants that offer bake food items. Dish was good and they did provide a decent amount of pieces of fish. Loved the cheeese! HK Cafe For Thought: Not one of my go-to's for hk cafe food. I'll probably go sparingly.

Yelp
Family outing to celebrate the end of my one-month postpartum confinement. I was really craving some Hong Kong-style food -- especially that lemon iced tea! The restaurant was packed during tea time, so the service was a bit mediocre due to being understaffed. The ambiance was loud, with nearly every table occupied. I really enjoyed the beef chow fun and the chicken wings -- both were delicious. The baked sole in white sauce with spaghetti was just okay, nothing special. My husband had the ribeye, which was on the fatty side. As always, I loved the lemon iced tea, though there's a $1 charge for a to-go cup.

Yelp
I normally stop by on early Sunday mornings, and the place is always packed by the time we are seated. Their parking is a small lot that gets packed and cramped during peak hours, which is, for sure, weekend brunch times. It starts to be even busier by late mornings, so parking will be even harder. Got the Spinach & Chicken Omelette with hash brown. My order came with a choice of toast or hash brown. - Spinach & Chicken Omelette: I found the omelette bland. It's an omelette with a filling, not the one that's incorporated into the egg. They're actually quite generous with the filling, but this was still bland. It's a creamed spinach with chicken. The little salad on the side looked good, no wilted leaves, with a creamy, tangy dressing. The hash brown was crisp, hard to mess up since it's probably the frozen pre-made ones. Overall, their food is average. Some dishes were better than others. It's a spot for cheap and casual meals but nothing special for a Hong Kong style cafe. Service was very average and on the slower side this visit. Everyone got their food at very different times, and we had to check with the waiter several times. I think that they must be understaffed because they're not usually like this. I unfortunately can't say that I'd recommend this spot based on this visit.

Yelp
Reasonably priced cafe food. This is my go to place in SVG when I crave Hong Kong cafe food. We ordered seafood chow mein, mixed grilled meats with rice and Singapore Style vermicelli. I love the crispy egg noodles with squid, fish, shrimp, scallops and veggie. The grilled mixed meat with black pepper sauce included chicken steak, pork chop and steak. All the meat were juicy and delicious. The Singapore style vermicelli were good also. Service was quick and food was good.

Yelp
I tried HK cafe after hearing from some family friends that this is their favorite Hong Kong bistro place. Please note that I'm giving this place one less star because of service. The service is ok but for some people it can be perserced as rude. Food wise, it's four stars for me. The food was good. Mostly everything we ordered was good. We ordered the lunch specials for the filet mignon French style, sole filet with black bean, Peking pork chops and Singapore chow fun. We also ordered the tender greens with garlic for a vegetable dish. The tender greens was the only dish, we were a bit disappointed with. The portions were a good size. You can also add a lemon iced tea, milk tea, or coffee for $2 more when you order a lunch special. We came a little after lunch time and the place was still very busy. It can get a bit noisy. But I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
3.5 stars Due to some Sunday morning construction where I live, I had to bring my dog along to breakfast w/ mom. This restaurant is one of the few HK-style breakfast places that still has patio seating. Unfortunately, the patio is where all the employees take their breaks, which isn't a bad thing itself. It's the fact that they're all smokers that is the issue. So, my mom, dog, and I had a smoke-filled breakfast haha. Anyways, smoke-aside, the breakfast menu is a decent size with plenty to choose from. I got the Beef Chow Fun ($10.95) & my mom got the Chicken Chow Mein (10.50). Beef Chow Fun = 4/5 stars. Chicken Chow Mein = 3/5 stars. For a filling, satisfying, and value meal, this restaurant is one of the best for HK-style breakfasts. Just don't expect any special treatment or fancy-schmancy ambience. I'll likely be back.

Yelp
New menu, same delicious food. The new menu is much better to choose from. My Cantonese is terrible and I can't read Chinese well but the waiters are always helpful. Service is great.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night, and at first it wasn't too busy before 9, but it actually got more packed by the time I left at 10. Anyway, ordered the chicken steak with rice, and it came out pretty quick, like around 10 minutes. I think the dish was pretty good, nothing too special though. The portion was pretty big. I just think the mushroom sauce that came with it could have been a little more thicker in the sauce department. The people at my table ordered several other dishes, and I got to try the pea sprouts, which was ok, but pretty oily. Service here is no frills, and noticed the dishes and chopsticks here were wet, which I had to wipe before using. At least I know they wash their dishes. Overall, I consider it a 3.5/5 experience. A decent Hong Kong cafe in the area full of competition.

Yelp
Super casual spot for Hong Kong style food with a small patio, where you can sit with your dog. Warning: when I went, there were several smokers on the patio so it's not the best for those with asthma. Not sure if this was because I was sitting outside, but I had to go inside every time I needed a waiter, whether it was to ask if I could order or to get my check. Food was good here and came in large portions. I especially enjoyed the pork chop and chicken steak, but could've used more sauce on the spaghetti. Given how big the menu is and how everything people were ordering around me looked delicious, I'd definitely go back despite the service.

Yelp
Go-to late night spot for our guilty pleasures. Nothing else hits home like Hong Kong cafe food. Service is quick and direct which is how we roll. It's always interesting to see how lively this place is no matter what time you come in. You'll find like minded night owls craving a good meal.

Yelp
Come hungry, leave happy. Portions are big and prices are reasonable. Service can be hit or miss. Parking lot is a bit tight so beware if you're coming here with a cybertruck sized vehicle. Great deals for breakfast.
google avatar

Miranda Y.

Yelp
The service is horrible. Only one server takes orders. We waited for 15 minutes with our hands waved to get our orders taken. The porridges we order have no flavor. Some foods are good. This restaurant is too crowed and lack of parking with tight spaces.
google avatar

Yelp
I always pass by but it was never on my "must try" list. The restaurant space is big. The carpets on the floor is disgusting. The whole place just feels dirty. It's also filled with old people and I felt like I was eating in a retirement home lol. The food is mehhh idk, I feel indifferent about it. I think the ambiance changes the way my food tastes too tbh. We ordered sautéed beef with mixed mushrooms and steamed ranch chicken with green onion. We skipped ordering any apps. They give a lot of food and it wasn't bad but I just felt uncomfortable eating in here. Would I come back? Prob not. But there's plenty parking outside if you do decide to give this place a try!

Yelp
Great food, service and kids friendly! I was able to make a reservation for 20 of us! Ordered a lot of variety of food! We were so full!

Yelp
I never felt so disgusted after dining somewhere... this place marks the first. After a long day, this cafe was one of the ones that open late. All the signs were there but we were just giving the place the benefit of the doubt. 1. Start off, I see a B grade on the door. Alert but not too alarming as there are hidden gems right. 2. Seated on the first booth on the right next to the cashier, walls were pretty dirty. Alert but not alarming cus I've been to a few places where the walls are not maintained. 3. Water came. My cup inside had unknown stains, I tried to take it out with the straw and it was dirt/dust clumped together, now floating in the cup. 4. Plates and bowls... did anyone wash these? 5. Steak & 2 eggs - the steak tasted like it's gotten bad and been sitting out. 6. Wonton noodle soup. Bug on wonton. No one else seem bothered and seem very familiar with how the restaurant is. I was in complete shock and I'm praying my family and I do not get food poisoning. Please do better HK Cafe. Deep clean the restaurant.

Yelp
Great place for authentic Chinese cafe food. We ordered the HK fried rice, beef and egg crispy noodles, salt and pepper chicken wings and garlic eggplant. All of it was yum!! The service was as expected for a traditional Asian restaurant. It was nice and clean. They were playing the Laker game too which was cool. Definitely will be back to try other dishes!

Yelp
Haven't tried HK Cafe 2 before until now. I've always driven by it in the 626, but didn't stop. I've tried the other HK cafe and it's decent and nice. It you like asian fusion with western flair then it's a good place to try. They have your traditional chinese type food like chow mein and fried rice, but they go beyond with cafe/dinner style steaks and sandwiches. The next best part is that they open late for dine in and take out. The time that I came here the parking lot was pretty packed even though it was 9PM. There is one way in one one way out, so watch for the signs. You can also call in your order to save you the wait time so it's ready when you get there. This location is in Valley Blvd by New Ave. The food was decently priced and pretty big portions. The chicken steak was really good and tender. When I saw the size it was really bang for your buck. Would like to dine in sometime to get the full experience.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and got their bake bolognese pasta. Friends got either steak and eggs or new York steak with pepper sauce. Portions are really big and the prices were cheap compared to other restaurants. I think my pasta was only $13 and the steak was 16-18. The steak comes with either pasta or rice and a sauce selection, garlic, pepper, mushroom. I would recommend getting medium as cafes aren't too good at cooking it to the correct doneness. Service was good. We got a whole pitcher of ice tea and our server kept refilling my coke and my friends milk tea witout having to ask. A waiter walked by with salt and pepper wings and they smelled amazing. Would need to try this next time to see if really is as good as it smells Ohh parking here is not that good. Depending on how others park you might not even fit to go around and exit

Yelp
Taste these heavenly wings and prepare for takeoff! If you want to try the best salt and pepper wings in LA, drive over to San Gabriel and you definitely will be amazed. This is the third time in a month that I've been here to order these wings to go. Think of this place as an American diner transformed into a Hong Kong-style cafe with red being the signature color motif. As I waited for my wings, I noticed the clientele must be regulars because the guy at the cashiers table seemed to recognize many of the diners with greetings in Cantonese. Soon enough, the wings appeared and I always immediately open the to-go box, in order to make sure these perfectly fried wings stay crispy. Of course I'm salivating and cannot resist eating while I'm driving! Come check it out!!!

Yelp
Good food, fast seating time, and very reasonable prices! I used to come here all the time with my friends back in high school and I actually haven't been back in about 7-8 years so I was honestly a bit worried the quality has changed. Safe to say, I was delightfully proven wrong.

Wayren X.

Yelp
Breakfast: Cheaper than average. Good value. Recommend fish porridge, club sandwich, seafood omelet, chow mein. Prices have went up recently though. Service: No nonsense servers d/t how busy it gets. Ambiance: Can get full very quickly and cramped. Parking is also very cramped and can be difficult.

Yelp
Just your typical HK style cafe in the 626 area. Can't deny the deals they have for lunch time and their portion sizes. Food The same items you would see at other HK style cafes in the area. The portions here are HUUUGE. Honestly, my sole filet could've easily fed two people. I was surprised with the flavor of all the items I tried here. The other dish was a steak with black pepper sauce. I liked this more than my dish actually. I consider their lunch deal bang for the buck. Service It was alright. Nothing special. Definitely harder to flag a server down with the amount of staff they have during busy times. Ambiance Very very casual. I see tons of older people coming in during lunch whether with their friends or just solo dining. Very spacious dining area. Parking Another bad parking a lot in the area. Gets full quickly during peak times resulting in many patrons scrambling for street parking or even at the 168 plaza diagonal to this lot.

Yelp
Thankful for this restaurant to open on a holiday, especially Thanksgiving for us folks who do not want to cook

Yelp
This is the spot! Have been coming here for maybe 8 years. Perfect spot for breakfast and late night meals, plus great portion sizes. A solid meal I always order is the congee with preserved egg. Their congee is so flavorful and smooth. It hits because it's served piping hot. Always order the fried chinese donut (you tiao) on the side. Another one is their wonton noodle soup. So delicious and done right! Noodles are bouncy and have that little snap when you bite into it. The soup is flavorful and beautifully golden/clear. You can taste the fish stock base, it's so rich. The wontons are delish as well, done right. A super solid bowl of soup. Another favorite is the club sandwich. It includes a fried chicken steak, BLT, a 3rd piece of toast, all cut up into 4 triangles piled high, skewered and laid across a big plate. The fries are laid ontop the slices. Super crispy with an outside batter and seasoned (a lil salty) with a fluffy interior. The best. Don't talk about service, when you need something just flag down a waiter when you're within their line of sight. They get the job done and no extra customer service is needed. Get the lemon tea or hk milk tea! _____________________________________ I would like to comment from the nasty review below- this establishment is a cha chaang teng! An OG spot for a lot of the community, HK Cafe brings people together, especially for older adults who have immigrated to the states. It gives them nostalgia and a taste of home. As someone who worked with older Chinese adults at Council on Aging, a huge issue with aging is that people get lonely and feel isolated! This was exacerbated during the pandemic, many never saw their families out of fear, let alone their friends that may have passed as a result of the virus. You can't be serious complaining that a restaurant has 'too many old people'. And I quote from Yvonne C; "It's also filled with old people and I felt like I was eating in a retirement home". Very disappointing to hear from a YELP ELITE OF 5 YEARS. This is the Welcome FAQ you read once you become an elite: What does it mean to be Elite? "Being an Elite member means you were chosen for your positivity, helpful contributions and general role model awesomeness on Yelp" Community is what makes 626 an amazing place to live. We have amazing food and events, that people from all over visit to just experience. Valley blvd itself is extremely dense and diverse in all types of Asian cuisine. It is truly a blessing to be able to experience this. We have the best Asian restaurants in this area. Support local businesses!! We need to do better!

Yelp
We got here right around 9am on a Sunday for breakfast and it's already half packed in there (they also have a waitlist sheet in case there's a line). We got the steak with toast and eggs combo as well as the fish porridge with turnip cake. For the steak combo, you have the option of toast, garlic bread, or hash brown. The steak was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside (it was so good that we totally forgot to take pictures until we were halfway done). The lettuce salad is surprisingly great as well - very crispy and fresh with great sesame dressing! The fish porridge is exactly what we expected! Definitely eat the turnip cake while it's hot since it does get a little hard when it cools down but great flavors! They also have some outdoor seating and there is a parking lot in the plaza but it might get packed when it's busy! Will be back!

Yelp
Was craving HK cafe food and decided to give this place a tried. We call in for take out and the person who helped us order was fast and right to the point. We ordered the grilled sole filet and Indo fried rice. The fillet comes with mixed veggies, rice or pasta and sauce of your choice. I opt for the pasta and black pepper sauce. The filet was perfectly pan grilled/fried. The pasta was already mixed with the pasta sauce. The sauce was more on the sweeter side, kinda tasted like ketchup mixed with tomato sauce. The Indo fried ice was ok, it needed more flavor and comes with an over easy egg. The portions for both dishes were more than enough for one person. Over all, I really enjoyed the food and will be coming back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Always a Big portions to serve all kinds of foods!!! HK cafe pricing offers a very reasonable nowadays inflationary world... still a bigger portions that's is great if you're so hungry for Chinese foods!! Services were getting improvements and they are so quickly to deliver your ordering...

Yelp
My eating partner still dreams about this place. We checked out HK Cafe because we were in the area looking for a new Canto place to try. At 9 PM, the place was still open. We found out they close at 1 AM. The place was maybe 30% full - a good sign for such a late dinner. It def had Canto cafe vibes with the paper placemats at every other seat and every patron drinking lemon iced tea. They have an extensive menu for food AND drink. I ended up with my go-to, the baked bolognese. Here they call it "bolognese w/ pasta". It came with fried eggs on top! It was delicious and a tad sweet. My eating parter got some house fried noodle dish. Both of these dishes were so good that we vowed to come back with more people to try more dishes.

Yelp
I came again and the disappointment is the same. A reminder for myself. HK cafe and me are not compatible. I swear, every time I come here, something is really wrong with the waiting time and the food order. So Arev, if you see this! Go somewhere else. Walking in at 10: 45 am. Took a number and waited patiently. After 20 minutes, we got our table. Sat down and immediately ordered our foods. Chicken chow fun, seafood udon and steak. With 2 milk tea. In 2 minutes we got 1 milk tea, 3 waters ( 1 was dirty looks cloudy ) . 11:45 am, I flagged someone to ask for our food. The table that sat after us, already had been served with their food. It's been 40 minutes and we still haven't got our food yet. The waiter that I asked responded with I'll rush them. In less than 10 minutes, the chow fun were served. But it's beef not chicken, after another 5 minutes the steak came out and another 10 minutes for my seafood udon. . Look at the picture and tell me what you think about the udon? After more than 1 hour waiting for my food, I think I deserve something good. Naaaa, forget it, eat and done and never come back.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever experienced racism that bad before. I came in with someone of African descent and we were promptly ignored the whole time we were there. We probably should have left when they wouldn't give us menus and I had to get up and get them. People that sat after us got menus. No one ever checked on us to take our food or drink order. When I finally caught someone's eye, he came with a huff and rolled his eyes. I saw the waiter walk to other tables with our food, like he was actively trying to avoid our table. The only person that even acknowledged us was the younger, taller Asian waiter. -Salt and Spicy Pork Chops: Overloaded with MSG but pretty impressed how little bone pieces there were. All pieces were mostly meat, and a lot of fatty pieces but I like fat. -Hainan Chicken: I don't know why my mom said this was good last time. The rice was very oily and barely had any flavor. Chicken was colored with turmeric probably. -Beef Chow Fun: Average.

Yelp
Large quantity, good tasting Cantonese food in a large open space in the City of San Gabriel resulting in a great place to meet friends for long, animated discussions without rush. Easy on/ Easy off from the 10, HK Cafe was the requisite one hour from LBC, traveling mostly on freeways. We stopped in for dinner on a Monday night. There is a very large parking lot, and even as the night went on, there were empty spots for new customers. Inside there is a large open banquet style room with a mish mash of furniture and the ability to seat parties of different sizes. We were a party of six around a circular table: plenty of elbow room but barely had enough tablespace for 5 dishes (sticking with the classics): Seafood Tofu Hot Pot, Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Crispy Tofu with Broccoli, Crispy Chicken w/ Green Chicken. I especially enjoyed the Hot Pot and crispy chicken: huge portions. They serve the tea individually here since they use tea bags, which were of good quality (better than the 1 cent tea bags that are ubiquitous in Chinese grocery stores). They were quite a few, large boisterous parties enjoying the family style meals throughout the night...it was great that our joyous group was able to add to the din.

Yelp
It's quite comical how bad the service is here. But the place is busy and loud because they still offer American and Chinese breakfast for $11 price range. It's disorganized here (no one would get us chopsticks and plates/ bowls so I had to walk over to the station and get it). The food is ok nothing to make a special trip for but it's loud with people talking and plates being thrown into the cleaning cart.

Yelp
Cheap Eats at its best!! We came because other restaurants in the area were crowded but were pleasantly surprised. Most of the lunch specials were BELOW $15! In this day and age, it's not common. And when the foot-long square dishes arrived, we were stupefied by the huge portion size. The Hainan Chicken rice dish was biggest I've ever seen! It can feed 2-3 people. The chicken cutlet dish was good size too. The taste? I think they were average- at par with most of the Hong Kong style eateries in SGV. Service is very typical of Chinese restaurants - fast, efficient, but don't expect anyone to chitchat or greet you cordially... it's simply not the "Chinese way"!

Yelp
Huge menu with very reasonable prices. Great option for late night hk cafe style food.

Yelp
So, this used to be JR cafe. That's how long it has been since I've been here. Late night, parking can be easier on the street. I got lucky and found a spot just outside of the lot. Their menu is pretty much the same and is very similar to all the other local cafe's. We were a group of 6 and our tab was about $37 pp after tip. We ordered family style and it was lovely. Service still sucked but it wasn't any worse than usual. The French style cubed beef was something that I was looking forward to but it was a lil too salty for me. The mapo tofu was good, not too spicy. Their fried rice was delish, as usual. The most surprising part of this visit, for me, was the change in the appearance of the restaurant's decor, especially since it had changed so much over the years.

Yelp
Great food and service. I would rate better if the parking lot was better equipped to accommodate the crowd. When we were there, I use a handicapped parking placard and a car parked on the striped side of me, which is illegal. I had to back out of an already tight spot to let my daughter in.

Yelp
The service was solid, and the ambiance is a chill diner. The food? Excellent! This is a nice place to grab a bite to eat with family.

Yelp
HK Cafe was decent. The food was hot and tasted good. Ordered the following: 1. Seafood Tofu 2. Baked Ham and Chicken Pasta 3. Yang Chow Fried Rice Pricing was reasonable and the place was busy. May have to flag down the wait staff.

Yelp
Great experience at this spot! The yellow chicken was very delicious and well worth the $15. The chow fun, priced at $13, could be less oily, but still tasty. No wait when visiting on Saturday at 11am. Parking lot mostly filled.

Yelp
The food was great, similar to eating at an authentic restaurant in Hong Kong. My family and I ordered the baked bolognese pasta., Yang chow fried rice, beef, noodles, and fish and vegetable plate. The service was very fast and swift, we ordered five minutes after we sat down and the food came out in 10 minutes. The ambience is quiet and feels like a family environment restaurant. I recommend

Yelp
This is my favorite Hong Kong style Chinese food restaurant! Their steaks are incredible, I usually get the peppercorn filet mignon! They have excellent selections and incredible service! I personally love their peaking pork ribs! Anything you get here will be excellent and very quality cooked by professional Chinese chefs! Highly recommend! Go here and you will not be disappointed

Yelp
This is the quintessential Hong Kong Cafe San Gabriel experience! The food is unpretentiously delicious and well-portioned, the menu has a strange mix of both classic Cantonese and western dishes, and the restaurant is open late, a boon for weary travelers and hungry insomniacs. The typical drawbacks apply: parking at the restaurant is horrible and the restroom is not the cleanliness. This is the old school experience. Would definitely come again when those late night cravings hit.

Yelp
The beef curry was the best and very tasty. Also the steam fish was delicious and fresh, Will definitely come back for more and recommends all my friend's & family.

Yelp
This spot is ok if you need an HK meal fix. The interior is a bit small with a smallish out door parking lot seating area. Had the preserved egg and pork congee and chicken steak set and both were good. Chicken had a good crisp on it. Bang for buck meal hard to find these days.
