Hot Pot Continues to Dominate San Gabriel Valley’s Restaurant Scene | Eater LA

"In a bizarre turn, I observed that this Taiwanese spot opened and apparently closed in just a matter of days — an eviction notice dated November 7 is posted on the door (the same date as its sole Yelp review) — and it had been serving Taiwanese favorites such as three cup chicken, pork chop rice, and lu rou fan (stewed pork over rice)." - Jim Thurman

This place reminds me of the old days when I used to live in Hong Kong for 3 years in the late 70's. Place is loud, vibrant with people who usually talk loudly with very descriptive language, and food is very Chinese style and tasty. Unlike cafes in (real) Hong Kong, this place is clean; clean floor, restroom, and clean utensils (up to US standards). We usually go there very late at nights when we return from a trip, and it's comforting to know there's still a place open late. Their operation hours at 8AM-2AM! We've also tried their breakfast; excellent jook/ congee, HK style milk tea, and pineapple buns.

Another excellent HK cafe in the SGV area, with some Macau-specific foods. The theme is decorated very much to Macau inspirations, and the cafe menu is pretty standard and has all the comfort foods you'd like. I love stir fried rice roll noodles, and it was crispy on the outside and the right amount of savory. Chewy texture was so good! The beef noodles, shrimp rice noodles, and baked rice were all pretty good as well. Chicken leg rice plate portion was decent and covered with a really nice sauce. I like that they have different items compared to other HK cafes in the area!

The food is decent. Pineapple Bun is the specialty so I would recommend giving this a try. I would say the chicken steak with egg burger does not go well together with the pineapple flavor. Your best bet is to go for the specific congee, pineapple bun, and 2 side dishes set. If you add in the burger, you'll also struggle to finish it. Congee is amazing and standard. The pineapple bun flakey and fresh. The vermicelli is oily and salty.

Waited 45 in the morning for a table. Pork chop and chicken steak is crispy and tender. Kid liked the fried noodles and rice noodles in sesame sauce is good. Porridge is good. Pineapple bun with butter the best, cold butter in warm buns. Only the drinks not good.

Google
Disappointed to come on a sunday morning and it was busy and there was a 40 min wait as to be expected. We got seated around 11:15am and they still honored the breakfast special. We got 2 porridge one is the beef and 1 is chicken abalone. The porridge was very bland and the beef was very tough. Ths service was lacking for sure and true to Hong kong fashion, service was bad. They rushed you to order and the food came fast but all the food was very bland. We got a baked chicken rice and it was lukewarm and it tasted like they threw watered down ketchup on top of a chicken steak and threw some cheese on top. As much as this place is hyped up, it definitely was very disappointing. Great breakfast price but very disappointing flavors.

Google
Food is great, service is okay, and the place is alright. Ordered bbq pork noodle, pineapple bun and peanut butter toast, with lemon ice tea. Very flavorful and reasonable priced.

I came here for lunch to try the food. I came here during their afternoon tea specials. Some items on that list were not even specials; they were regular price. They ran out of house special pork spare ribs and Portuguese style stir-fried salted cod with potatoes. I ordered the Singaporean fried rice vermicelli and the Portugese chicken. The vermicelli was good. The chicken was ok; it was more on the sweet side (from the coconut) and needed more rice. Adding the peppercorn and black pepper helped with the taste. It's a cute little restaurant with a nice Macau theme. Customer service was good. There's parking outside, but it may not be enough parking when it gets packed. If you pay with credit card, there's a minimum you need to spend ($15). I spent about $36 on the 2 dishes plus tip.

Google
Fast service and a fun, thoughtfully designed space. The decor is interesting and eye-catching, and the menu offers a wide variety of bold, flavorful dishes. The chicken rice really stands out. The rice is incredibly fragrant with chicken fat, and the chicken itself is tender with just the right amount of chew. The ginger oil dipping sauce is excellent—fragrant, savory, and ties everything together perfectly. The beef udon stir-fry was a pleasant surprise. It’s been a long time since I’ve had beef cooked properly. The beef slices were juicy and melt-in-your-mouth tender, yet still had that satisfying firmness you want from good-quality beef. The seafood curry and seafood chow fun with egg weren’t especially memorable, but the flavors were still solid and well-seasoned. That said, the egg sauce on the stir-fried noodle was a bit over, making the dish too wet and overpowering the classic dry, silky texture that stir-fried noodle should have. Thankfully, the dish wasn’t completely drowned in sauce, so you could still catch some of that smoky wok hei, but the excess moisture did take away from the overall texture. This was probably the weakest dish for me. The iced lemon tea was refreshing, aromatic, and tasted very close to classic Lipton tea—light and easy to drink. It also seemed like free refills were available, which is a nice bonus. Overall, the restaurant clearly invests in both its decor and food. Many of the dishes are quick-prep or use pre-prepared ingredients, but they’re executed well. Definitely worth checking out, especially for the chicken rice and beef udon.

Yelp
Food is good! Ice tea is good Service is good, come to check on what you need. Good service and no attitude! Very busy but they serve fast and dont need to wait. Not too noisy

Yelp
The food was enjoyable, and the ambiance was warm, welcoming, and kid-friendly. Despite being quite busy, the service was good. We had to wait about 30 minutes. If you visit between 8 AM and 11 AM, they offer a breakfast special for $11.99 that includes congee, noodles, and fried dough sticks for dipping in the congee. Unfortunately, we missed the breakfast window and ended up ordering lunch instead. Lunch prices averaged around $12 to $30 per dish. The standout was definitely the salt and pepper chicken wings! they were absolutely delicious! The soup noodles we tried were a bit bland, but the rest of the dishes were tasty overall.

Yelp
Server forgot one order. Instead of apologizing and acknowledging it, she kept saying it's coming. We are everything else and we're sitting there for an additional 25 minutes waiting for the order that was forgotten. The debit is pretty interesting - decor from cafe themes in HK. Restaurant ambiance...loud with customers talking and music playing. Food was ok...not bad but not good. It's edible. There are other places that offers the same menu...so this place doesn't stand out or make it to my go to list.

Yelp
Late night Hong Kong cafe food. Service is fast and reliable. If you're looking for a place that opens late, this is a spot for comfort food. I got the salted wings and calamari combo with beef chow fun. The salted chicken wings and calamari were too salty for me, but i imagine it would taste great if you were drinking alcohol. The saltiness would be perfect as beer food. I also felt the same way with the beef chow fun. It was very oily and had a ton of soy sauce flavor. Too much oil and soy sauce imo, but again perfect if you were drinking that night. I would only come back here if I knew I was drinking and wanted a late night meal that is familiar. Price is a little more than other places like Tam's noodle house, but late night hours are a plus.

Yelp
The beef fillet minnyon is excellent. I really like it. The price is only 16$ that is affordable price! I aslo tried the chicken wing and curry. The curry is good and big size with rice. We also order the ice lemon tea and milk tea 4$ . I really like the milk tea since they can refill ! This my first coming here on Tuesday 22 july 2025. At that night, it was so busy! We are so lucky that we get the vip room. We really enjoy the moment. Will come back for sure!! Me and my friends are really like the foods ;)

Yelp
I come here once a month with my family for dinner. It's a good spot for groups and has good food, too. Parking is convenient as there is a lot outside. My favorite dishes: BBQ Pork Egg Rice: a classic and authentic Hong Kong style dish. Sweet marinated BBQ pork over a bed of white rice and soy sauce and topped with an egg (cooked any way you like) and vegetables on the side. I really like how the pork slices are thick and flavorful. Salted Egg Yolk French Toast: thick French toast topped with meat floss and condensed milk. The interior is filled with a sweet runny egg filling (similar to dimsum egg yolk custard buns). I was skeptical at first because I never had French toast with meat floss or an egg filling, but it turned out to be a wonderful blend of savory and sweet flavors. Notes for improvement: Food can take a while to be delivered depending on the time and day. On some days, I get my food within 10 minutes. On one occasion, it took 30 minutes for my rice dish to come out. When the waitresses take our orders, their attention isn't fully on the customers. I always see them having side conversations. I had to stop mid sentence to wait for the waitress to bring her attention back to me because she was looking away and laughing with another coworker. Mannerisms could definitely be better. Other than that, very solid food and usually no wait if you go a little bit before 6pm for dinner.

Yelp
Came during a weekend breakfast. Decent size parking lot. Cool decor. Service was fast. Got the 雪菜肉絲湯米+煎蛋和菠蘿油 or Preserved Vegetable Shredded Pork Vermicelli + Egg & Pineapple Bun for $12.99 and 豬紅粥 or Pork Blood Congee with 豉油皇炒麵 or Soy Sauce Chow Mein and 混醬腸粉 or Steamed Rice Roll in Mixed Sauce for $12.99. Very affordable for the amount of food you get. All the food was yummy. Always have leftover to take home. The milk tea and coffee that came with the entree was descent. Would come back.

Yelp
Came back because it's so good had to bring my family. Came on Sunday at 1:30 and there was still quite a wait. It got less busy after us thought so probably quiets down around 2 or 3 on weekends. They were super busy and was bit hard to call the waiter but there's always waiters walking around so you kinda just have to shout and get their attention haha HK style. Rude and efficient. I have to mention their bathroom. It's very dirty. Used napkins everywhere, door handle was wet, there was a really strong bad odor, urine built up in the urinal, and dirty toilet. Gotta do better in this department. Apparently girls restroom was similar. Just slightly better. Come on men lol. My mom got her favorite HK style ovatine French toast! But it's not that good here.... Not really fried and the condensed milk is like evaporated milk? Very watery and taste like milk. I wish I could say better things but it just felt like eating soggy toast. Also tried the hand shredded chicken. Super flavorful and great paired with rice. The chicken was really moist and well seasoned. Love the onions and cilantro. Of course gotta get the Macau Style Beef Curry Stew. My favorite here. It's super flavorful and rich sauce. The brisket is really tender and great texture. Perfect paired with rice. Even the potatoes soaked up all the flavor. Super yummy. Must get here. HK milk tea is just ok. But on the sweeter side. Be sure to ask for less sweet. There is tea taste but I've had better. Pretty decent though can't go wrong. Free refills though!!! Beef chow fun is pretty good! Just a tad oily. There is good wok hay and the beef is pretty tender. Huge portions here so great bang for your buck. Just a bit oily in my opinion. Menu is really extensive but I would stick to what they're known for. The Macau Style Beef Curry Stew. I loveeee this dish here.

Yelp
Came here for a 9 AM breakfast on a Sunday. Was very excited to get a Hong Kong style breakfast with rice congee and a Chinese doughnut. Purchased the pork congee, was a little disappointed to see strips of ham? The Chinese donut was delicious, but the other side dish that I got, which was the pineapple bun was so so. I forgot that they would have a big old glob of butter in the middle of it. Hubby had the soy chow mein, and it was pretty decent, but we like the one at delicious food corner in Rowland Heights better. Overall, not bad for a Hong Kong style breakfast, but might want to try something else, and make sure that you show up early to get a table. There was a pretty long line at 10:30.

Yelp
Finally got the chance to check out this place. I love HK cafe food and their breakfast the most, but since we passed the breakfast time frame, we got to try out their lunch menu. Let's start with the parking situation... This place is shared among other businesses and the parking lot is small, suggest park on the street and walk. Or drop someone off before parking on the street just so you can write your name down and save some wait time. Got seated inside, got our orders in pretty quick. We ordered the spicy minced pork vermicelli noodle soup and baked pork chop rice in cream sauce . The noodle soup came out quick then followed with their iced coffee milk tea ( one of my favorites ) I just say, it's probably one of my favorite coffee milk tea compared to other HK cafes. The pork chop rice came out a bit slow, assuming they were either backed up because it started getting busy. Overall, the pork chop rice was good minus the nuke warm rice. Wished it was hotter. Despite the warmth of the pork chop rice, we would still come back and try more food!

Yelp
I love the food and service here! Very traditional HK style cafe that opens late with services that's always prompt. I have tried almost their entire menu and I can say that food is prepared with consistent quality. Even during busy weekend nights, both the food and quality will still be served in a consistent manner, which can be difficult. I strongly recommend this place, you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Only downside for me is that they are getting a bit pricey.

Yelp
This HK style cafe is on my hit list to try. Got there around 1015pm and you bet there's a wait out the door. It was busy and packed. I was dining solo but still got to wait. I wish I could order everything on the menu I but I got the spicy ground pork with egg with noodle soup. In order the hot coke with lemon and ginger. The taste is definitely on point, authentic. The menu is amazing . Lots of classic HK style cafe and also Macau fusion as well. Service was fast and friendly. Let's talk decor. Love everything and brings back a lot of HK memories for me. They have mahjong serving bowls and plates. The bigger tables have mahjong tiles as the table. I wish I could buy that table. I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
I think HK Macau Bistro may be my new favorite HK style cafe in the SGV right now? The fact that they open late is a big plus. I'm not a gambler but appreciate all the gambling decor inside (hey, its Macau right?). And, the food is pretty good too. I still need to try the Pineapple Bun but check out my pics.

Yelp
I like them for their breakfast items. Lunch wasn't great. - curry beef stew rice noodles: the beef was tender but everything about this dish was so very bland. - steak: looked good but very tough piece of meat. - fish in chili sauce: they made the wrong one with beef and fish, and asked me if it was ok. Then when I said it was fine, the waiter told the guy at the register, I'm guessing they ended up charging for the more expensive combo dish. I thought it was ok, not spicy, my mom said the fish was bad. - pork bowl with asparagus: extremely fatty pieces of meat. I like that but a lot of others don't. This dish was also very bland.

Yelp
This place is chaotic and delicious! If you're looking for authentic HK style Cafe this is the spot! The food is pretty good and generous portions! The menu is extensive! They have great HK milk tea! They also serve Congee breakfast porridge and Chinese donuts. They have good dinner options as well. My fave is the chicken Katsu! The line for this place is always a little long but it's worth the wait! Parking is kinda small but be patient and you'll find something. Breakfast is the busiest time. The service is just ok but the food makes up for lack of service! The ambience is like very cool. They have cool tables and lighting making it look like casino vibes! The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. They also have allot of combination plates that allow you to mix and match items. Overall I would recommend!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 We order a couple dishes between us and tried everything. Chat siu lo mein- a little salty, comes with fattening noodles. Pineapple bun, has a good crunch and was sweet and savory with the butter. Hainan chicken was yummy and delicious! Baked ham and chicken pasta was mediocre. Everything was off the afternoon tea menu and comes with a drink of your choice: lemon ice tea, milk tea, coffee or red bean icee ($2more) Service: 3/5 Maybe because they were busy, but you have to ask them constantly for refills or boxes. Ambiance: 5/5 Loved the decor- gave it a Hong Kong cafe feel. Had some mahjong on the table and other games infused in the other tables.

Yelp
There's a Hong Kong cafe for every time and season under heaven and HK Macau Bistro is my pick for late nights in SGV! I grew up (vertically and horizontally) going to Hong Kong-style cafes and have long been conditioned to count on Baccali's for mornings and JJ's for late nights. Sadly, The Pandemic changed all of that and a lot of places I counted on to be open all day or well into the night no longer have those same operating hours. Enter HK Macau Bistro. A relatively new contender in the battle royale of Hong Kong cafes in San Gabriel Valley, its colorful neon decor and mahjong tile tables certainly evokes the look of old Hong Kong. A Beyond-heavy soundtrack playing through the night completes the classic Fragrant Harbor vibes. Most importantly (to me), HK Macau Bistro is open LATE... and late in 2025 Los Angeles means they open at 8 a.m. and close at 2 a.m. TWO A.M. Closing past 10 p.m. is practically unheard of these days and for that fact alone, HK Macau Bistro is a local legend... but what makes it an instant classic is the quality of food on offer. Not only do you get all the baked pasta, grilled combination, fried rice classics, but they also have items you don't see on a lot of HK cafe menus these days, like pineapple buns and clay pot rice. While I will say that EAT Cafe seems to have stronger flavors for most of their dishes, HK Macau Cafe is no slouch when it comes to menu selections and price point. The last few times I've come here we've gotten their Grilled Combination Steak (Chicken and Pork Chop for $16.99), Filet Mignon Cube with Red Rice ($16.99), Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings ($11.99), and Salt & Pepper Tofu ($10.99). These are all HK cafe classics so you really can't go wrong... I will definitely have to come back to try their curries, baked rice and pasta dishes, as well as all the Macanese specialities that you also don't see often at a lot of other cafes. As one of the few HK cafes open past 10 p.m. this place can easily get packed all night so reserve some patience for the hardworking staff. Cash, card, and Apple Pay all accepted here! Sik fa-an ah! Hou sik! Hou sik!

Yelp
3.7 stars This is a long overdue review. This restaurant has been on my try-list for quite some time. I just always ended up at Tam's across the street because my mom prefers that spot. Anyways, service was typical of a lot of Chinese restaurants. Their breakfast menu is varied with some pretty authentic congee dishes like offal congee, which we're not brave enough to eat. We ended up ordering the Plain Congee combo with Fried Dough and Chow Mein. This combo was very good. The other order was Spicy Ground Pork Vermicelli with Fried Egg. The broth was good, but the minced pork was too fatty for my liking. Also, the vermicelli's texture was rough...I don't think I'd get this dish again. The coffee came in a really small cup, which wasn't enough for mom, so she ended up getting 4 refills. My HK milk tea was good, but it was still astringent to me. I just don't think I'm an HK milk tea kind of person. However, I liked that they were generous enough to give me my 2nd refill in a to-go cup. Not many HK cafes would do that...so I'm wow'd. I'd come back.

Yelp
Last time I came here it was on a weekend with friends - it was quite busy that we had to wait almost an hour and we didn't even get to try their popular HK toast as they ran out. Luckily, however, it wasn't too busy tonight - a Wednesday. Being my second time here, I paid more attention to the details of the restaurant. I really liked their use of design--especially the mahjong set inside the tables! It reminded me of my Asian culture and made me feel more at home, even though I'm Filipino. I finally got to try their version of French toast, and it exceeded my expectations. The texture was balanced - brick-like, crunchy on the outside edges and soft on the inside. It was surprisingly not too sweet as it was drizzled quite generously with condensed milk. I honestly could have still used more of it as I was down to my last bites (with me, there's never enough condensed milk haha). I ordered the stir-fried fish filet with asparagus, and it was delicious--very clean and healthy. The asparagus wasn't your typical kind; it was much bigger and heartier. My friend ordered the char siu and Hainan chicken combo. The chicken was cold (that's how it is served) giving a mild satisfying flavor and very tender. It came with a garlic sauce in a spoon - which was a great add-on, though the chicken was already tasty on its own. Last but not least, the pineapple bun was great - sweet and savory. Overall, the dishes were very fulfilling--definitely not something I could finish on my own.

Yelp
This restaurant has many options and combos making it more affordable. Their steak was cooked well and their pineapple buns are fluffy and buttery. The interior is decorated nicely with fun colors and leds. The drinks include unlimited refills and the food comes pretty quickly.

Yelp
I love a good old HK cafe food! Came here with bunch of friends, and we had to wait for a while to get seated because it was on a weekend, and of course it's crowded. Like other good HK cafes, they have a pretty good selections of the combos and individual items. We came around 10-11, so it's still considered breakfast, so the menu has less selections. We can't wait to come back to try out their lunch/dinner options! THeir decoration is just too cute, with bunch of neon signs and Hong kong public transport or street signs. it's pretty clean too. Parking is a hit or miss situation.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my dinner here! Interior is cute and their dominos inspired table is adorable. Ordered the Singaporean stir fry noodles and it was delicious and not overly oily. Can't go wrong with their fried squid and wings combo. Fried tofu with XO sauce came out pipping hot and seasoned well.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good HK cafe? The decor has a nostalgic vibe that instantly transports you to the streets of Hong Kong, complete with vibrant LED lights. My go-to is usually the breakfast special, which comes with BOLO BAO, PORRIDGE, and RICE NOODLE ROLLS drizzled with sesame and hoisin sauce. Don't forget the LEMON TEA/ MILK TEA. ENJOY!
google avatar

Toma C.

Yelp
This place had an overall value of above average. The breakfast special is one porridge with two side choices. I shared one with my husband and it was a perfect size for us. We finish all but the Chinese donut. The porridge was good as far as the quantity but lack some taste imo. The fried noodle was yummy. See my photos of what our table got. The place is decorated like your in Macao it has all the street names and even a sighting of labubu.

Yelp
Parking is not great even we went there 1:30pm. Services are decent but waiter and waitress are very friendly. We ordered beef chow fun and bitter melon pork ribs plus my favorite lemon ice tea. My beef chow fun took over 30mins and asked once. I think they forgot my order . Overall will go again if in SCA

Yelp
WHEN: 8am right when the cafe opened There was already a long line of people waiting before 8 SERVICE: 8/10 Breakfast was rush hour, waiters were very busy waiting multiple tables. They were quick and attentive WHAT WE ORDERED 10/10 Breakfast combos comes with butter bolo bread & hot milk tea Steak and egg Salty veggie noodles & eggs Combo prices are cheaper compared to eating the same meals in Hong Kong. I just got off the plane & went straight to the cafe for breakfast. It's comparable to eating it in Asia. It's a chain restaurant, there's another location in Rowland heights. I highly recommend this hk cafe if you're in the area.

Yelp
First time trying this place. There's a lot of dish options. The portion of each dish was large and all dishes came with white rice (except for the scrambled eggs with beef over rice). I personally liked the scrambled egg with beef with rice (it came with lots of beef, but far more rice than the toppings) and Chinese broccoli (greatly seasoned and cooked perfectly). I see some people recommend on chicken casserole, but I didn't enjoy it. The chicken was plain and not tender. It would be great if the chickens were cooked more a bit longer and more seasoned (btw we waited for the chicken casserole for around 40 minutes, the wait wasn't worth it). The employees were helpful and attentive. The restaurant is really busy during peak hours. They are open until 2am, so it can be a great spot for late night dinners. The restaurant got a nice design, it's like eating on the street of Hong Kong and Macau. However, the restaurant is very loud and busy; thus, it's hard to talk to others ( have to raise your voice when talking).

Yelp
Came here for lunch yesterday with a friend. There was a wait but it was not as long as I had expected (which is good!) Service was average and typical of most Chinese restaurants in the 626 area. We ordered the Roasted Pork w/Tofu (4.5/5), the HK Style Combo (BBQ Pork, Steamed Chicken (4.25/5) and the Salt and Pepper Combo [4 pc. Squid and 4 pc. Chicken Wings] (4.5/5). The food was mostly satisfactory. Taste, temperature and presentation were found acceptable. I liked the steamed chicken but was expecting more meat instead of just having mainly boney pieces. LOL My friend reminded me to take pics (without her, I probably would have forgotten again!) Enjoyed our meal here and had enough leftovers for the next day. Would recommend this place for decent HK Macau comfort food and return here in the future for another visit to try other food items.

Yelp
The steak is huge, cooked just right, and only $20+, you can't beat that. Sauce is a bit off. My go-to Cantonese dish, shredded toro with leek, is also well executed here. They really keep the ingredients fresh, savory, and not overly greasy. Only thing I'd skip is the toast... dry and kinda hard. The vibe is great! neon lights, mahjong and pai gow tables, gives off a fun night market feel. Service is fast, and waiters only focus on serving fast lol

Yelp
Really nice HK style cafe, the wait for a Sunday morning/brunch time was about 30-45minutes. However we have a group of 8 so it's understandable to wait for two tables to be available. Unfortunately breakfast is only until 11am, therefore we ordered from the lunch/dinner menu. Inside was very cool, the decorations were bright neon with dark undertone backgrounds. We sat in the back near the corner, the staff took some time to attend to us and by the time they came for our drink order we already decided what meals to order: Pineapple bread and butter: warm sweet and crumbly bread with a pat of butter in it. For two per order it was very good and we shared it among our group, my toddler especially loved the top. Grilled Pork Chop: very juicy pork chops! Came with two of them with steamed veggies. Unfortunately the veggies wasn't seasoned so very plan but you can dip it in the sauce (black pepper). It also comes with a side of pasta or rice, the pasta was really good, my toddler loves eating it! Portuguese Chicken: it was last to arrive but was very good. The dish had coconut, pieces of chicken (with bones), tomatoes, potatoes and olives. Coffee Milk tea (iced): really good, slight bitterness from the coffee and tea with sweetness and slight creaminess from condensed milk. Might need more condensed milk though. The one thing that was a bit off was that two meals didn't come after we finished our other food. We asked the server and it seems they had to enter it again as we waited another ten minutes. Restroom is gendered and individual rooms, fairly clean and well supplied.

Yelp
I love Hong Kong cafes and this one is awesome. Located in a small strip mall with 3 other restaurants and a bakery, this restaurant can be a little hard to find. Both Google and Apple maps will lead you wrong. But it's so worth once you find it! I love the decorations in the restaurant. The theme is super cute. And I love the mahjong tiles in the table. That being said, it's going to be slightly pricier than your typical old school Hong Kong cafe in the 626. But the prices are still super reasonable and I would say the service is a lot better. I got the grilled pork chop and my friend got the grilled combination steak. Unlike some other cafes, the grilled combination is not a mix of all their steaks but one chicken steak and one pork chop. They come with either a black pepper or garlic sauce and either rice or noodles. The portions are big and the pork chop was perfectly cooked and delicious. We also got an order of bolo bao with butter and I got an iced lemon tea. Those were both nostalgic and yummy. I'll definitely be back in the future! This was a great eat at a great value.

Yelp
Came here to see the TikTok hype and it was just okay. The decorations are definitely very picture worthy and cute. The pineapple buns with butter and HK milk tea were good but pretty standard. I got the baked pork chop rice and it was pretty bland. It only came with 3 small pieces of pork chop with a ton of rice. The sauce had virtually no flavor, like canned tomato sauce diluted with water. Additionally, 2 of our orders came out nearly 30+ min later than the rest and they were just the pineapple sandwiches. They most likely forgot to punch in the order, we had to check up on the missing food.

Yelp
Be prepared for a wait. Came on a Saturday around 10:50AM and wait was around 20 minutes Service was friendly and the food came out very quickly. Your typical Cantonese cafe food, not bad but nothing to wow about. Small parking lot so be aware.

Yelp
first of all, the interior is so cute! they have mahjong tables and lit up neon signs. we came on a tuesday evening for dinner and it was decently packed but we were able to swiftly grab a table. the food is soo good and reminded me of my family's meals. the waiters all speak cantonese but they also do speak english. * salt n pepper wings - 100/10!! SO crispy and juicy and seasoned just perfectly. absolutely love. * minced pork noodle w egg: 10/10. i didn't know i would like this but the way they seasoned the pork blended into the soup and made it such a delicious pairing with the egg. * scrambled egg shrimp chow fun: 10/10 reminds me just like home. came out fresh and was made well. i'm def coming back!

Yelp
There's a fair amount of parking in this plaza. The food was ok. The Hainan Chicken was flavorful but there was not a lot of meat offered. The rice from the Hainan Chicken, delicious! The Curry Beef was a huge portion but alright. It was jammed with too much spices. The beef and potatoes were cut too big. We ordered the thick toast but they got our order wrong and we got Peanut Butter Toast, not realizing this until we saw the check. It was really hard to get the staff's attention. The theme of this restaurant is cute though. The tables have mahjong or domino tiles and there's neon signs everywhere.

Yelp
This place isn't large group friendly. The food was just okay. My house special chicken had no taste and I had to add salt. Two of our food came over 30 min later than everyone else's. Nothing stood out. All the decorations were cute tho.

Yelp
This place is open until 2am, which is incredibly convenient for a filling late-night Asian meal. The service was incredibly quick for ordering and receiving our food for a party of 7. 5/5 - Kaya toast, I tried I bite of my friend's and I wish I got it instead because that coconut jam + butter combo was GOOD. 5/5 - Spam egg over instant noodle, I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this but this dry soy sauce noodle with Chinese broccoli, spam slices, and egg hit the spot. The portion was crazy for $13.99 and I enjoyed my leftovers the following day. 4/5 - Your standard pineapple bun.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance are all top notch. This was my first time here and won't be my last. The shrimp in the chow fun was tender, and not overcooked. The noodles and scrambled eggs were soft and not over salted. Overall the shrimp and scrambled egg chow fun was fantastic. The broccoli and chicken was great! At first when I saw the chicken I was a bit concerned, but I had no reason to worry. The chicken was tender, well seasoned (light seasoning), and had the perfect chew. The broccoli was seasoned in a lightly salted brown sauce with fresh ginger. The plate was excellent! The service was absolutely amazing: fast, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance is lively, bright, energetic, and a bit loud but not obtrusive. I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu because every plate that came out of the kitchen looked better than the previous.

Yelp
Your typical Asian cafe restaurant.. for the price and value it wasn't bad at all. I drive by this place all the time and decided to just give it a try since it was open pretty late.

Yelp
I went back to the cafe for its breakfast special. The quality is still as good. The service I received today was outstanding. The servers were attentive and polite. The congee was tasty and the rice roll may need more sauce. The stir-fried noodle was tasty too. The environment was botnof noisy but hey this is an HK Cafe. It is supposed to be.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I tried HK Macau Bistro for the first time, and we both agreed - we want to make this a regular spot! We ordered the Chicken Claypot, String Bean Stir Fry, Macau-Style Curry Beef Stew, and Hong Kong Milk Tea, and every dish was delicious. The Chicken Claypot was a standout dish, with tender, crispy, and juicy chicken with perfectly golden bits. It's the kind of savory dish that everyone will love. The Macau-Style Curry Beef Stew was rich and hearty, with melt-in-your-mouth beef and a curry sauce that was both aromatic and warmly spiced. The String Bean Stir Fry was my favorite - simple but expertly cooked, with green beans stir fried with fun mushrooms and fishcakes. And, of course, I had to try their Hong Kong Milk Tea mmmm it was smooth and creamy. It's a must-have drink to make a great Hong Kong+Macau meal! The space is very clean, inviting, with really cool decor. It's a great spot for a fun date night or group meal. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, the service is super fast, and the entire experience was great. I really love how the restaurant blends both Hong Kong's culinary traditions and Macau's bold spice flavors. They really brought together the best of both worlds, creating a menu that showcases comforting, flavorful dishes. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Wow! This place slaps so hard! 10/10 highly recommend if you need a HK or Macanese cafe fix. A great place for HK cafe classics, or if you want to try Macanese food. We ordered the Macau beef curry stew, char siu rice, Macanese pork chop bun, and ovaltine toast. The beef stew was familiar but unique due to the curry (not spicy btw), and the char siu rice bowl was actually surprisingly yummy as well! It had a good balance of fatty and lean pork. The pork chop bun was a stand out - they had a Chick-fill-A type sauce with perfectly cooked and juicy pork chop inside. The toast was a great finish to our meal, crispy and creamy. Service was as expected from a HK cafe, but they really make you feel like you're back in HK. Good amount of parking, and loud bright lights inside that take you back to Macau. 10/10 highly recommend here if you're looking for nostalgic vibes and tasty food.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Macau Bistro for a while! Took my mom here for lunch--she had been before and wasn't too impressed, but we decided to give it another shot and ordered a few dishes. We tried my favorite, the Baked Pork Chop with Tomato Sauce and Rice, along with the Macau Style Beef Stew and Diced Filet Mignon with Red Rice. The Macau Style Beef Stew was the highlight for me--tender, flavorful, and perfect paired with the white rice that comes with the dish. The Diced Filet Mignon with Red Rice was tasty as well, though the portion was a bit small, but the flavors made up for it. Unfortunately, my go-to Baked Pork Chop with Tomato Sauce was a bit disappointing this time. There wasn't enough cheese, and the tomato sauce was too sour for my taste. I also ordered the Hong Kong-style milk tea, which came with free refills and was really enjoyable. The decor and ambiance were great--names of different cities in Hong Kong hung on the walls, which added a nice touch. Service was just okay; you really have to work to get the staff's attention. Still, I'd come back for the Macau Style Beef Stew and to try their breakfast deals before 11 a.m. next time!

Yelp
I visited HK Macau Bistro since they were open late on New Year's Eve and the restaurant was pretty filled up but not overly busy- good for a late night meal or casual dining. What I tried: - Salted Egg Yolk Chicken: This was very interesting since it was my first time having salted egg yolk as a batter for fried chicken. The flavor and texture reminded me of the Irvin's Salted Egg Chips but in fried chicken form. - Beef Chow Mein: Pretty standard, but I wish it had been a bit more crispy. The noodles soaked up the sauce quickly, so most of them ended up clumped together and soft

Yelp
Came here for lunch recently and the food has improved. They offer Hong Kong and Macanese style food. Quick service. Free refills on select drinks like HK Lemon Iced Tea and HK Milk Tea. Baked Pork Chop on Rice was really good. They offer red or white sauce. The red sauce is tomato based and I recommend this one. Good service. Free parking in parking lot.

Yelp
Everything here was delicious! My favorite was the beef with red rice. The beef was so flavorful. I also really liked the toast with Kaya. I got two! We got seated at the majong table and it was really cute. My mom was really happy. It was traditional Cantonese hospitality they are busy here and the lady in charge doesn't smile but don't let it get to you hahaha . I would come back!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite HK cafe in the area. Inside are nicely decorated in a HK theme. Most of the staffs are friendly here but there's also a couple of not so friendly ones. Food are good here, i highly recommend their curry fish ball, baked buns, spaghetti with meat sauce and many more. It's nice that they open until 2am so i come here with my friends after late night photoshoot and car meets

Yelp
I went here a few weeks ago with some co-workers. That day we were feeling like noodles so we got 3 different kinds of noodles! The noodles were delicious. It's typical HK cafe service. It's not as fast as I'm used to. We tried the French toast dessert too. It was delicious! I would definitely recommend it. They did stop by to refill the drinks a few times. All in all- not bad, and I would definitely go back.
