The food is good and the recipes are a little unique compared to other restaurants around town. I really like that about Ho Ting. I miss the lunch buffet. Also I don't like that egg roll sauce isn't included with the egg rolls, sweet and sour sauce isn't included with the cream cheese wontons, and the fried rice is curry fried rice. These changes aren't great in my opinion.

Ho Ting was the only place opened on Christmas Day that my family and I could find. Their menu/food are different from other Chinese restaurant I’ve eaten at. Their fried rice, wings and sesame chicken was decent. Chow mein and lo mein could be better. Crab ragoon was a freebie, but it was nothing but cream cheese.

First I’ll start with my girlfriend and I love the food here, cream cheese wontons, lo mein, all the types of chicken, the rice are great! We probably come here once every 1-2 months. Customer service has usually been good up until recently. I’m not sure if she’s new, but the young lady working the register is extremely rude. She constantly second guessed our answers to her questions and made comments about them basically expressing that she knows what we need better than we do if that makes sense. (E.g. She asks if I need more water, I say I’m okay, then asks are you sure? I say yes, then says my glass is getting a little low, I say I’m fine. She leaves and then comes back a minute later to ask again.) <- this is not an exaggeration this happened the whole time she was serving us. hard to enjoy a meal when someone is bugging you every 1-3 minutes. She also kinda lingered around our table a lot, would interrupt our conversations to ask questions we already answered and then would say “I’m just double checking.” This wasn’t a one time thing either, the last two times we’ve gone in we had her for a server, this last time we decided after sitting down to just do take out because we didn’t want to deal with her as a server and she then proceeded to make a comment on that decision too. Saying “it just didn’t make any sense to come in for dine in and then get take out instead.” Trust me we know, wasn’t our first option. It makes for a poor dining experience, please do something about this, we love the food but we won’t be dining here if this continues. I don’t want this place to lose business for bad customer service.

Could’ve been better. This was a pickup Order $50 worth of food everything else was just fine! These however.. not the best.. they actually gave me my money back for the egg rolls. We couldn’t even eat them the smell alone was overwhelming. First time trying them ... probably just gonna stick to crystal jade.

My fiance and I ordered Uber Eats delivery at 6:00pm. Our order was supposed to arrive at 6:40. At 6:57, I called and asked where the order was because my driver had been waiting. They said 10 more minutes. My order arrived at my house, which is 10 minutes from the restaurant, at 7:32. The chicken pad Thai (pictured) had no peanuts and the noodles were so weird tasting. The chicken fried rice was very bland and we added more soy sauce. We will not be ordering beee again.

Google
I’ve been searching for EVER in the surrounding twin cities area for the best general tso tofu… they know exactly how to prepare their tofu and seem they have a lot of experience with it. It’s extremely crispy and the best consistency. The owners are so friendly that I came 3x in one week😂 their cream cheese wontons are also to die for. I saw them making the wontons homemade and they’re absolutely delicious. 5/5 ⭐️ attached pictures to show the tofu

They charge $1 per packet of soy sauce. Food is alright but a bit dry and I’ve never heard of a restaurant charging for soy sauce?

Google
Ok so disappointing…. I ordered 2 things for takeout, chicken fried rice and lemon chicken… $36 without tip! What a rip off. You cannot call to place a takeout order, so I ordered online. For every item you are forced to choose a spicy level 1-3, there is no explanation if 1 is the mildest or what 3 might be. That said I wanted normal chicken fried rice which has no spice in my vast Chinese food experience, so I selected 1 for spice level. The fried rice was so spicy my kids nose was running and his eyes were watering. I like spice but not in my fried rice, it was terrible. For $36! Never again. I love supporting small business, but recommend you steer clear of this place with terrible food and high prices.

Yelp
For the longest time, I have walked by Ho Ting Restaurant. It's next door to North Country Nutrition (NCN) and in the same plaza as my go-to Caribou Coffee. As of late, while in Minnesota, I have been scoping decent Chinese eateries. I have one in Rochester that I frequent often. I need one in Eagan. I may have found it. One Sunday evening, I wanted to order some takeout. I had taken a paper menu from Ho Ting after having visited NCN (menus were available externally). I took photos of the menu. I pulled it up on my phone to figure out what I wanted to order. I then called the place. I got a rather relaxed male voice on the other end. He was patient. He was so relaxed that I felt relaxed after the call. I ordered the following items: - Steamed dumplings - Beef ho fun (dry) The man said that it would take roughly fifteen minutes for my order to be ready. It was perfect, as I was out and about. I made my way over to the restaurant. It was a Sunday, so the usual crowd that fills up the parking lot wasn't there. I backed into a spot steps away from the eatery and walked in. The reception area was right in front of me. To my left was the dining area. There was one family dining. The restaurant is deep. I shouldn't be shocked because NCN is also a deep store. A woman said hi. I indicated that I had a takeout order and said my name. It was packed up next to her. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. I got my food from the woman, thanked her, and headed to my car. I then drove back to my hotel room to enjoy my dinner. Takeout orders here do not come with napkins or cutlery by default. Luckily, my room had a kitchenette, so I had everything, including plates. With the packaging, it did look good until I noticed that some of the dumpling dipping sauce had spilled a bit onto the takeout boxes. Luckily, it was minimal. Although the takeout boxes containing my food looked small, they packed a ton of food. My beef ho fun felt like a clown car as I unloaded everything onto my plate. There was a generous amount of food. I started with my steamed dumplings. They were large. I liked the crimping that made me think that the folks here make them by hand. The menu never said what the protein was. It tasted like chicken, but had more veggies than I had expected. I loved them. I'd get them again. The dipping sauce complimented them nicely. I love beef ho fun. I'm not a fan of the saucy version. I like it dry and this place did a decent job with this dish. The noodles needed more of a wok sear to them. Still, the flavours were authentic and on point. The beef slices were tender. Give me bean sprouts, green onions, and garlic in my ho fun and I am the happiest person. I'm so happy that I finally gave this eatery a try. I'll be back for more good eats. (92)

Yelp
My family frequently ate here before the former owners sold the restaurant. The first time we visited after the sale, it was terrible. Years later, I thought I'd give them another try. The sweet and sour pork was soggy. Not sure how that happened as there wasn't much sauce. The rice was hard and ended up throwing it out.

Yelp
Added an order on Uber eats. Last second canceled after 30 mins. Terrible service. So do not go here or order.

Yelp
This is one of those nostalgia restaurants I've been to and I recommend anyone to my friends, to my teachers, and to just anyone close to the Twin Cities in general! Their food is on point. Love their Cream Cheese Puffs, I ordered Sesame Chicken and it was very delicious! Their white rice is cooked to perfection and the food here is absolutely incredible! Their service was great as well and they were nice to us and professional and we've been there since 2016 and it's been upgraded to having 2 TVs and more cleaner now. No boxes lying around the place itself looks very nice definitely a place I'll absolutely comeback when I'm craving Chinese food. 1,000 times way better than the confined trash of Hong Kong Garden. Ho Ting, I love your establishment and your food and I'll definitely comeback again someday.

Yelp
The food was excellent!! Very tasty and delicious. The portions were large, which is nice because we now have lunch for tomorrow. If you are out and about I would try this place. We will be back.
google avatar

Stacey B.

Yelp
Dumplings (Gai zi?), sweet and sour chicken and cream cheese wontons were amazing, beef and broccoli, and pork in garlic sauce were decent and why I didn't vote 5 star overall. The service was excellent too.

Yelp
The sign on the door says that there's no indoor dining but they allowed us to dine in on our visit. Thank you Ho Ting Restaurant! They closed the dining room due to Covid, just waiting for the ice machine before welcoming dine-in customers again. We did order two wonderful dishes for lunch, but each entree would have easily been enough for two. My Singapore Noodles were sublime-fresh tasting noodles with tasty shrimp! My lunch partner picked the Garlic Pork Lunch Special-he was not disappointed. The lunch buffet is still closed.
google avatar

Glenn M.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch. Even though the sign said take out only, we were able to sit at a table. We enjoyed Singapore noodles, spring rolls, and a lunch special of chicken broccoli, fried rice and an egg roll. All of the food was tasty.

Deb T.

Yelp
We have been getting take out from Ho Ting for years. Since the new owners have taken over, it's been awful. Bad food, wrong or incomplete order. I will not be going back, I do not recommend! I would give them negative stars if I could!

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Food quality is good, but I prefer the favor of the food at other restaurants more. Definitely worth a try.

Chris E.

Yelp
Not what it used to be. If it is fried rice and you order Pork, Chicken ect.. Expect essence of. ********************************************

Yelp
Staying in the area for an overnight work trip and wanted Chinese food but not Panda Express or LeeAnn Chin. Large menu and a bit hard to pick from. Ordered way more food than I needed but wanted a bit of everything. Cream cheese wontons and pan fried dumplings were good. Egg rolls probably would have been good if I dined in but they need to have some oil soaked off and got kind of mushy in the bag while going to the hotel and getting checked in. Although very nice portion size for a two piece order of egg rolls. Ordered the house fried rice, portion size is good. Again since it sat the rice for a bit mushy but overall good taste. Overall I felt like the prices were a bit high but you do get a lot of food. So if you are able to share or take advantage of leftovers I'm sure it's a great value. I'd go back again if in the area and wanting Chinese.
google avatar

Juli D.

Yelp
I tried the chicken egg rolls along with the lunch special sweet n sour chicken and cream cheese wontons. All were very fresh and hot when brought to the table. I will be back.

Brett W.

Yelp
Most of us go to a fast food Chinese restaurant with an expectation that it will not be the best food, but still good. The Ho Ting in Eagan has hit rock bottom. The General Tso's Chicken was basically inedible with how stringy the chicken was. There was almost no vegetables, which was the best part. The only way I can express my disgust is "never again".

M E.

Yelp
I asked for a mildly spiced sauce on my Canton dish and got a blistering hot dish. (I don't mind a little heat). When I called to comment I was told to pick out the red peppers. I won't be going back.

Yelp
At first, I was thinking...I'm looking for a good place to eat at the end of the work week I don't want to cook. as I was driving I noticed after a while what I was hoping to be the end I gazed upon Ho Ting. Yes, a strip mall restaurant that in the past has left me more then dissatisfied, but maybe tonight would be different. Needless to say, I reluctantly decided to stop in to the place and initiated a take out order. At first glance of the menu, I thought the options look good, also it looks like the staff fits the billing, then I was greeted by a kind elderly lady. She took my order and her demeanor and tone was very comfortable. The total was was $15.95, then she rushed to the back to tell the cook about the order. Momentarily, she came back and rung my order again, adding an additional 3.5% charge for using a credit card. She then explains to me that it's the machine that collects the extra 3.5%. At that point, I canceled my order and she returned my money with an attitude that was not friendly or hostile. In this time of consuming, with inflation high and businesses doing the part to stay afloat and others price gouging, I will be do diligent to give to the businesses that are trying to stay afloat. Good luck Ho Ting!

Yelp
I've lived in Eagan for 16 years and never tried Ho Ting until my husband got a COVID craving for Chow Mein that Will. Not. Quit. We've tried a few places, and then he realized the place that's only a little over a mile from our house was our next target. I get weary of American-ized Chinese food, the spices always muted for Minnesota palates. I'm thrilled to report that spices are vibrant and alive here and I have found a dish that I love! First, let me warn you about the light little cream cheese wontons that are about as addictive as they can get. Pretty sure I could eat two orders in one sitting and while I'd be filled with regret afterwards, I'd savor every fried bit of cheese going down. I am also a big fan of the egg rolls since they have a lighter wrapper. What makes them even better is a side order of the super spicy mustard they offer. I'm not talking about that tame stuff in the cups, I'm talking about a little dab that will clear sinuses like nothing else. Crisp cabbage and carrots inside make these extra delicious. My husband loves, loves, loves the Special CM Chicken chow mein. Big chunks of chicken and crisp, not mushy, vegetables. My favorite is the shrimp with garlic sauce. FINALLY. I've been looking for a version of this dish for years and across several states that nails the spicy and sweet combo that makes this my jam. The perfect amount of kick, plenty of shrimp cooked just right, YUM. Another favorite of mine is the Steak Kow, a wonderful pepper steak in a light but spicy sauce. What I like about these two entrees is how filling they are even without rice. Veggies are nice and crisp-not mushy or stale. Call the restaurant direct for super fast delivery within Eagan.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
I have had a craving for chow mein. Don't ask why. Haven't had it in years. I took a gamble on Ho Ting as some of the reviews weren't so nice. But I'm happy to say that I loved the chow mein. It wasn't 5 star, but it certainly was a four star. I'd go back for this again. And during Co-vid, you call in the order and drive up to the front door. Easy. The only downside was the young man who brought the food out had so much cologne on that the bag had the smell. I'm very scent sensitive, so this was a Mr Yuck. But I'd still go back.

Yelp
SO. MUCH. SALT. Ok, so I have a slight obsession with Asian food. I lived in Japan and traveled ...I love all the food. It's hard to find good Chinese food in the Eagan area and people kept mentioning Ho-Ting on Facebook so I gave it a try. We order sesame chicken, house fried rice, Singapore noodles and beef with broccoli. We have 3 little ones who love Chinese food. Sesame chicken was actually really good. I would order this again. It's the only thing that was completely gone at the end. Beef and broccoli wasn't very flavorful, it was sweet and not much flavor at all. Singapore noodles and fried rice were both so salty! It was not like a good soy sauce or umami flavor, it tasted like a salt shaker fell in. They both had a lot of blackened burned onion and made everything taste burned. It wasn't good. The kids usually will destroy both these items from their favorite places...there was over half left over. Would not go there if you are wanting either of these. Probably will give it another shot...but I know what NOT to order now. If I have the option I will drive to Rosemount or Farmington for better optionsz

Yelp
We love Ho Ting. We go a couple times a month and they are so welcoming, we feel like part of their family. Our one year old also gets excited if he sees one of the waitresses, he adores her. We also sometimes have a weird custom order with our fried rice that we once got at a place in St Paul, and it's about the closest we've gotten - kudos to them for dealing with us. Recently we've been getting the buffets to explore more of their food offerings and I'm always happy with the selection they have. Must be good, we've seen some of the same people coming back regularly too. And ditto on the cream cheese wontons - they are amazing!
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
So good! My Husband and I get the Singapore noodles, sesame chicken, fried rice and cream cheese puffs regularly. It's so good that we always finish the "ho ting" :)
google avatar

Adell F.

Yelp
Cream cheese Wongtongs were an A. Lo mein with chicken was a B+. The General Tso 's chicken Was an F. Sauce on chicken was not good, no meat in the breading, just not good. Overall I give this place a C+.
google avatar

Renee M.

Yelp
Was walking by and decided to stop in and was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated right away. The food is really good, we have tried a variety of items as we have continued to go back there. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
Not great. Tough parts in the chicken meat, mediocre flavors, and even the rice wasn't cooked right.

Jenny D.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants around! Their egg foo young is what I get every time, and it never ceases to satisfy me. Their cream cheese wontons are amazing as well! They always cook their food to order, and we use take-out often. I highly suggest trying this place out, even if it's only once.

Sara R.

Yelp
Decided to try this spot since our regular take-out place is closed Monday nights. I normally do not review but after spending $68.00 on take out last night as well as a $2.00 tip on my curbside pick-up, the enormous let down that was our slimy lukewarm flavorless meal, I felt like I crumpled up my money and threw it away. Maybe I am spoiled being new to the area from New York, the Chinese take-out game on Long Island is hard to compete with, but the other places I've tried locally in and around Eagan far surpass "ho-ting." Our moo-shoo was not julienned rather a coarse chop that made for messy and awkward pancake wraps, the chicken chow-mein was a box of slime that swiftly made its way to the trash, such a shame for the high prices here. Sesame chicken was "eh," also lacking flavor and kind of gross, and the steamed dumplings seemed overdone and mushy as well as the pork filling lacking seasoning. Also, pork fried rice?? There was absolutely no color to our rice and was super super dry and unappealing. We saved all of our white rice and and said to ourselves at the conclusion of our meal that at least we could now make our own fried rice in a few nights to enjoy. All in all disappointment and I'm really kicking myself for ordering so much as it was pricey and at the end turned out to be a giant waste of hard earned money. The best part was the fortune cookies. I'm sorry ho-ting, we will not be back. Ever.

Yelp
Restaurant was recently acquired by new owner. Buffet is much more diversified. Food is a much higher quality and very tasty. I'm not familiar with menu items as I only eat from Buffet. Buffet runs from 11AM to 2PM. If you are in the area it is a very worthwhile lunch choice

Yelp
SO we have been here a few times since we moved to Eagan. Food is meh, but cream cheese puffs are the best. HOWEVER, the last time we ordered they screwed us!!!! We made a $40 order at 6 pm on a Friday night. We understood that they were probably busy, but after an hour we waited by the entrance to our apartment. After waiting downstairs in the lobby for another hour (it's now 8) we called them back to see when they would be coming. I could hear the woman YELLING at my boyfriend (over the phone) from across the room. Telling him that he never showed or answered his phone when they "called." Finally after a couple minutes of this she offered to remake the food and come back. We declined figuring they would void the purchase as WE NEVER GOT OUR FOOD!!! NOPE. Never going back. To treat customers like that is wrong.
google avatar

Jeff V.

Yelp
Wish I could give a great review but I can't. I wanted to try this place but they refuse to answer the phone. I called 26 different times today (literally 26, i counted) and no one would answer the phone. Very bizarre. No online ordering either. Should be pretty standard in 2017 to either have online ordering or have someone answer the phone to take an order. Im trying to give you my money and you will not take it.

Yelp
Had the lunch buffet originally with the intentions of just getting take out. This place does not deliver! I walked in the place and seriously looked like a tiny takeout joint with about 8-9 mini tables crammed together and spotted the small buffet station to the back. for $7.99 you get the buffet which does not include a drink. They had a descent variety white rice, multiple chicken, beef dishes, cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, fried chicken wings, and egg drop soup. I really enjoyed the beef dishes had a lot of flavor and veggies! I did find the egg rolls to be very disappointing they were fresh and crispy but did not have a ton of flavor and filled with cabbage and veggies barely any meat. Service was also quick to refill empty trays, and clear tables/plates especially with just one employee really working the cashier/bus boy etc.

Yelp
LOL. Reading the reviews in this section is an exercise in comedy. Maybe people need to understand something. You're not on the West coast, you're not on the East coast, this is Minnesota. YEAH! A place not known for its huge Chinese population. So stop saying if this place was in Cali blah blah blah. If this was New York blah blah blah. Its not. People reading this review string for this restaurant want to know about this restaurant, not how great you think NY Chinese is. We don't care, at least I don't. This place, Ho Ting, compares favorably to any place in the Twin Cities metro area for Americanized Chinese food. The lunch buffet is small but you will not find a better value for your dollar anywhere. The service is spotty, the only person that speaks English is the younger guy with glasses. The older lady speaks basic English, enough to take your order. Its a mom and pop shop as far as I can tell. And while spotty, tell me any other small Chinese joint where you get service that is great and I'll pinch you so you wake up. Service isn't great, but then its not great at any place I've been here. Deal with it. The food is good. It is affordable. If you live or work in the area this place is a homerun for lunch. If you're looking for trendy or fine dining, move on.

Yelp
I guess many come for the buffet. That just isn't my thing anymore. There was a time when I staggered out of the Tropicana casino, barely able to walk after stuffing myself silly at their massive, diverse and decadent buffet. But, quality does not equate to quantity. Our bodies need only a certain amount of the right food. Even more so, I would rather enjoy some really good food instead of gorging on filler. The first visit here was for the mushu pork. Filled with crunchy chunks of broccoli, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and some slivers of succulent pork. It was a quantum leap up from the "buffet" I ate at the Kentucky Fried Chicken the other day - which I knew better than to order on the basis of the cashiers recommendation. True, the food isn't in the same class as what you would find in New York, San Francisco, or the San Gabriel Valley. Just the same, it is an infinitely better meal than one you will find at a typical Panda Express. My second visit was for the Singapore style rice noodles. This was a delicious dish that was pleasantly mild, with a nice bite of the peppery bits sprinkled about. Again, I wouldn't dare say this is world class Chinese dining. Then again, I had little in terms of expectations for perfectly serviceable Chinese in Minnesota. And if you think this place is cramped, you haven't eaten in a New York Chinese eatery - where you will share a cramped table with people you didn't know until you ended up at the same table. Relatively speaking, this joint is spacious ;) For the money and in consideration of the nice folks who run this place, not to mention the nice change of pace it offers from the boring path of corporate food service, Ho-Ting rates as a good bet. The prices are very reasonable for made to order food, and the portions are large enough to serve as two meals. What more can you ask for?
google avatar

Adam W.

Yelp
I do have a thing for the Asian buffet. The buffet is not fine dining, nor is it necessarily first tier "authentic." At its best, though, the buffet offers a chance to eat fresh hot food at a price point close to the fast food chains. And that's why I have a thing for the Asian Buffet. The thing I like most about this particular buffet is the friendly staff--I'm always greeting with a smile when I show up here. The buffet itself is small but of quality. You won't see the the unusual items but what's here is solid. I also appreciate that the buffet is replenished regularly, so you don't get the dreaded steam table slide to slow death. OK!
google avatar

Wes S.

Yelp
I take out from HoTing often, two or three times a month. The food is very good. It's consistant. The price is ok. It's the best Chinese food I've found in Eagan. I would recommend it if you're looking for some decent chinese food. Sorry, I am not a long review writer!

Yelp
I'm from out of State and like to compare Chinese Restaurants around the country. Had the wonton soup. Great wontons but broth needed a kick (scallions?). Sweet and sour shrimp was excellent. Not too sweet sauce fresh veggies and expertly cooked shrimp. I'd return if given the chance.

Yelp
**This review is based on a take-out order, usually which I find to be a very small factor in how a restaurant should be reviewed, but I wanted to chime in anyhow** So after reading several reviews of Ho Ting from fellow Yelpers, I decided to order the Singapore Rice Noodles for lunch take-out. The restaurant is a little tiny, with the counter no more than 3-4 feet from the door, albeit slightly to the right. The gentleman at the register quickly took my order, processed my payment, and I waited for about 10 minutes before my order was ready. In the interim, I didn't ask for water or anything, but at the same time, I wasn't offered any either. =] The noodles themselves were pretty good, (I got wide rice noodles) coated with a thin layer of yellow curry powder and sautéed with medium-sized shrimp, julienne BBQ pork, bell peppers and bean sprouts. The shrimp were okay if a little small, and it tasted like the BBQ pork may have been left over from a main dish featuring it, slightly dried out. The price of the dish was decent, but you usually have to remember that at most Asian restaurants, the dishes are meant to be shared, unless you get the lunch or dinner specials. Needless to say, I had a lot left over, enough to make it another meal - for dinner or lunch the next day. I think Ho Ting is a nice lunch spot if you're in the mood for Chinese - you could get in, get out, and back to work within 30-45 minutes. It's one of the few choices for Chinese in the Pilot Knob/Yankee Doodle area, and fits its niche just fine. If you're in the area, give it a whirl, but I probably wouldn't make my way out here from anywhere farther than about 10 minutes away.

Yelp
Fantastic food . Hot Sour soup is the best I have had. Cute attentive waitress. Huge portions. Will be back!

Yelp
They don't answer the phone. Tried to order delivery to the hotel that I was staying at which is close to the restaurant, but no one picked up the phone after a number of tries. Obviously, they don't deliver since you can't even order online. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Ho Ting is the best, My children and I love it. The food is always good, fresh and plentiful. The cram cheese puffs are the best in the Twin Cities. Who cares if the place is little, It makes it feel like my own neighborhood place.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch today. I had the Hunan Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken, extra spicy. Should not have ordered it extra spicy. They doused the top with chili garlic sauce instead of using more chili peppers while cooking it. This completely messed up the flavor profile of both dishes. The guy working the front was nice and pleasant to speak with. The food came fast. They get an extra star for those two things. Very average establishment in an area devoid of this type of cuisine. Will go back if I ever have a craving for generic Chinese.

Yelp
This is my all time favorite Chinese restaurant...Family owned and operated...The food is always exactly how we want it and we have been eating it for years!! And now they deliver!!

Yelp
Been here several times in the past 6 months. Never disappointed. Love the noodle soup. Full of noodles and fresh vegies. I've had the chicken, beef, and shrimp. Chicken is my favorite.

Yelp
I got an order for pick up. I like to try different Chinese restaurants beef fried rice because it is my favorite. I live there beef fried rice, it's the best I've had in a long time! I will definatly go back! When I went in there the time was on point. The gentlemen at the front desk was pleasant.

Yelp
I moved to Inver Grove Heights from Edina 15 years ago and spent several months finding a good Chinese takeout place in the Eagan area (there were lots in Edina). I came to love the food at Ho Ting which stood head and shoulders above their local competition. I was concerned when the family sold the restaurant a few years back, but the current proprietor, Judy, is a gem. She retained most/all of the existing menu, and added quite a bit. I can recommend the chicken with garlic sauce, the XO spice fried rice, and my near constant favorite, Sa Cha chicken, extra-extra spicy.

Yelp
This was one of the worst Chinese meals I have ever had. I live in the twin cities but travel nationally. I specifically asked for meals that were not sweet. My take was delivered sweet on both dishes I ordered. Chicken cashew - normally savory - sweet. Not only that, the chicken fried rice was speckled with carbon - like the black scrapings out of the bottom of the wok. I rarely write reviews, but this was so bad people need to know.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick dinner. Not really what I was looking for. The menu was very limited so I had the sesame chicken with egg roll and some cheese fried won tons. The service was friendly and very attentive. No other dinners just a few carry out orders while I ate. It is small but nice inside. More for lunch than dinner I believe. The food was ok. The fried won tons were excellent, the sesame chicken was crunchy, sweet and spices I give it 3 stars. However the fried rice was awful. It was salty and had a burnt taste. I could not eat it.

Yelp
Order chicken chow mein combo with white rice and an egg roll. The chicken chowmein is not your typical chicken chow mein. It was actually quite gross. And has tons of vegetables in a beef thick gravy. Totally gross I couldn't even eat it. The others in my party had sweet and sour chicken and it look like the fake stuff that you get in the freezer that you can eat at home. The sesame chicken looked OK and the fried rice was okay my husband said it was fine. I walked in hungry and left hungry. No I will not return.

Yelp
This place was terrible. Apparently Mongolian pork means a whole container of sliced onions with three tiny gristly pieces of meat. Called to ask why we got a big box of onions and they said they basically didn't care and "everyone likes their food". Fried rice was mediocre and the egg rolls were way overfried and tasted like I was eating cardboard. Terrible food and even more disappointing serive/personel. Will NOT be back no matter what the circumstances.

Yelp
Trash. Food was garbage. The only thing that tasted good was the white rice and how could you mess that up. The food tasted like it was from the buffet that ended a hour ago! Wings I could even eat! They tasted old! This place is selling old food to there customer to save money! I'm done with Ho ting. I hope I don't get sick! Beware!
