Ho Win Palace

We ordered take out one time and we really like it we had to try it again at the restaurant. Beautiful bar and bar area. Food is good my favorite was the lo mein. Price is not bad at all. Service was ok I would’ve liked for her to have said hi when she came to the table instead of saying ready. Really liked that the manager came to our table to make sure everything was ok! That is a big plus. We’ll be back

Got a gift certificate from a friend at work who frequents this restaurant (I had never been) I went for the first time last night and I loved it. The food was fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. I enjoyed the pineapple rice so much I just picked up another order of it! I think the Ho Win Palace is our new go-to for Chinese food! 😊

Ordered for pickup before the dinner rush. Food was so cold and disgusting. None of it was edible. Some stuff you took a bite and the smell was off you knew you were going to be sick. Gross

Very delicious Chinese food. The only great place in Chelsea! You get a lobster when you spend $100 or more! A steal!

This place is my go to when I'm in town! I lived in Somerville for 8 years and didn't discover this place until I moved and my sister relocated to the neighborhood. The food is always hot, delicious and they are friendly. The owner is great as well. I literally came from Logan to Ho Win Palace. Keep doing what you do!

I always come here for the salt and pepper chicken wings. I asked for them well done twice woman said ok. Literally was throwing up violently for two days. I went on Sunday night 10/6 . This is what my wing looked like on the inside I will never return here.

Good chinese food at a decent price. We ordered takeout online, and found the menu a bit confusing, so I’m adding pictures from the current menu. I got the beef and broccoli with crab rangoon and white rice. The crab rangoon was a little hard, and the beef and broccoli was great! Overall, a solid option for chinese food.

The staff was funny and nice.This food was sensational; it was piping hot! My friends and I ate a lot & we weren't rushed to eat. I can't wait to return.

Omg omg , this place is excellent: From The manger to the cooks to the bartender, I can't believe it. The food is so good . It's delicious and fresh . On top of that the service is excellent. Not only excellent but the staff is kind , attentive, friendly and welcoming. But I can't get over the freshness of the food and how delicious it is . I live in chestnut hill ma but I definitely will be back here. Hello : Owner , cooks and staff I am a fan ! The vibe is welcoming. They have a big parking lot so this is not an issue I only wished I lived closer to have this experience more . Thank you for making me feel like I got my monies worth . Also for making the community feel like this as well .

I love Chinese food and appreciate a good value which I didn't get here at Ho Win Palace. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. The sauce was delicious it was a thick red sauce. The vegetables were scarce it had two very tiny pieces of bell pepper one green and one red and a few onion. The battered chicken was huge but under the mountain of batter was a skimpy little piece of chicken, at least it was white meat. I took one bite and the chicken morsel all came out. In short it was a meager amount of chicken and all batter. Very disappointing

We ordered off their brochure at our hotel. The food did not arrive hot. The market price lobster for $34+ was disappointing/ where was the lobster meat? I saw and tasted basically shell. The shrimp came heavily battetef and looked like an overstuffed onion ring. The sauce was tasty, Their white rice and Happy family entree with chicken, beef, shrimp and scallops with vegetables was the best of the main dishes. The saving grace were three fortune cookies, 2 paper plates and 3 wooden chopsticks.

Food and staff are amazing. Michael is the reason I'm always coming back. The food always comes out hot !

Unpretentious American-Chinese food in a setting that seemingly hasn't changed since the 90's. Reasonable prices and the dishes we ordered were really garlic-forward (which I looove). Very tasty. They have a full bar and unexpectedly good 'vacation' drinks like Mai Tai and Painkillers. Our bartender was friendly and welcoming - fantastic service all around. Also, great place to watch sports. I can understand being thrown off if you're looking for authenticity. Head a little further into Medford for that. But this is a classic old school regional suburban American Chinese restaurant - which is slowly becoming an endangered cuisine in its own way. These dishes were a huge staple in my childhood and I associate with so many fond memories. Ho Win did a great job and resonated with me. I'm excited to come back and try the rest of their menu!

Got their lunch special takeout which was a pretty great deal for only about $12 they gave a generous serving of pork fried rice and kung pao chicken. The food came out quick, only waited about 5-10 minutes after ordering. The inside has a bar with sports playing as well as some small seating tables. The pork in the fried rice was juicy and fatty and the fried rice was not dry. Note that there were some ridges in the takeout container so it may seem like more in the photo, but it was still a generous portion. The crab rangoons were not greasy and felt like they were baked, good amount of stuffing. Will definitely be back to have their lunch special deals!

OK to start with: I'm in town for a couple of weeks and ordered twice from these guyI would have ordered every night. Last night blackPepper chicken and Garlic String Beans. Both OK but definitely ABC renderings. Tonight had General Gau's Chix, spicy!, Lunch combo. Fairly bland new England style Chinese I guess. Found what might have been physical contamination but it could have been something crispy. When I looked more closely I found a long black hair. Talk about gross.

Ah the crab rangoons were my fave! We got the shareable appetizer and that was part of it plus an extra side order lol. The chicken lo mein was a hit was well. Drinks were good and the Celtics were playing, no complaints from this out of stater

Pancakes for moo shi are just Mexican tortillas. Not great food and it's not even cheap.

Food was delicious and fresh, a little pricey, wish they had combo take out dinners. The staff was great and the owner came over to welcome us. The place was spotless and ambiance was pleasant.

Went their on Friday 5/17/2024. The appetizers I ordered were great. But, the appetizer that my sister ordered did not taste great. You don't know how the food is until you try it

Ho Win is the Chelsea / Everett staple of American chinese food. This place always hits the spot whenever my family and I just want some good old American Chinese take out. What more could you ask for ? Delicious fresh hot food and friendly service is what you'll get here. Definitely a forever local favorite.

I had friend over tonight and they stopped at Ho Win Palace for Chinese food. Usually when they come over, we get food from Mandarin Restaurant as I live in Reading, right next to Mandarin. But that place has raised their prices since Covid and the food has totally gone down hill. This was my first time eating food from Ho Win and I cannot say enough good things about this place. EXCELLENT food. My friends had ordered fried rice which was not in the bag. We called Ho Win and they actually delivered the rice from Everett to Reading AND gave us two huge portions. They were so nice on the phone and in person. I'm not a fan of crab rangoon, but Ho Win's was really good. The prices are reasonable, food is great and service is wonderful. Highly recommend!

Love love love this place. Food, drinks, fast & good service & Keno!! What more can you ask for?!?!?! Limited parking and not too far from the beach. Plenty of booth and bar seating. TVs at the bar also. Casual and down to earth environment.

Went for the first time, combination plate to go. The restaurant was packed and service was friendly. The portion size is a bit small for the price which was a bit high. Vegetable fried rice, boneless spareribs, and 1 egg roll (while mostly tasty) wasn't worth the cost.

Sat down at the bar table and got a beer and water with a friend . Then ask for menu .. male bartender came and ask what we ordering after 30 second when we didn't even open the menu yet . So friend start ordering 4 dishes with rice . Then bartender came to me ask what I want like my friend can finish all those food himself just plain stupid .. we didn't even ask for check and bartender bring check over . So whatever still gave homie a 10.00 tip. But this guy is just stupid .. I would give a 0 star if I can . Not going back

I'm a Chelsea resident who was searching for a nice Chinese take out. And we were disappointed and disgusted to find un clean shrimp in our fried rice! I personally think this is unacceptable and very off putting. I usually don't make reviews but I'm upset at the quality considering how much we spent. We did enjoy the chicken teriyaki which came on skewers and was pretty tasty. But I have to give this place a low review for this reason... after discovering this I couldn't even fully enjoy my meal.

I recently had take out. This is the Chinese restaurant I used to go to as a child. I have fond memories of it. In the 80's the fried rice was a very dark brown due to the flavoring, and had a lot of bean sprouts. I crave it still, but no one makes it like that anymore. I decided to give it a try after so many years. It was really great! Fresh and hot when I picked it up. Order consisted of shrimp fried rice , vegetable fried rice, chicken wings, chicken fingers, and crab rangoons. The price reflected the portions. We had food for about 3 days! Yummy!

I've been coming to Ho's for about 11 years, when it was owned by the previous owners (when it was a true dive). After it was sold, new owners modernized it a bit, but it was still great. Everyone was so friendly and it was always such a good time. Fast forward to post-covid... I have no idea wtf happened, but every single person who works there are incredibly rude and just pissed off all the time. Maybe they are overworked or kept in chains in the basement... don't know, don't care. All I do care about is that I don't need to be snarled at after paying $150 for 9 tiki drinks. They now also are is such a rush to get you out, even when the place is empty. So disappointing considering it's history.

This is my husband and I's neighborhood go-to for Chinese food. Nothing fancy but they are consistent with their quality and service. We usually get takeout or have it delivered. We like their pineapple fried rice and crab rangoons!

Best food , drinks , atmosphere and to go is always on point love this place and always refer to friends!

Ok, we were looking for something to eat at night, and came across this restaurant. Well it was an excellent choice. The food was delicious hot and satisfying. If you're in the area give them a try. Just and FYI, they charge for fountain drink refills.

I am so happy I came across Ho win palace. I have visited this place twice since the new normal with COVID 19 and they have checked my temperature every time. They also provide paper menus and plastic fork ,knives,and plates. The server is always wearing a mask and keeping social distance. The food is always fresh in this place! I even dare to say this is the best Chinese food I've eaten in Massachusetts! On their chicken plates you actually get chicken and not just breading!! Also highly recommend the house fried rice! The crab Rangoon's have just the perfect amount of cream cheese and crab inside and are perfectly fried!! Not only that but service is 5 stars!! Don't think about it anymore YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE YOU WILL LOVE IT

I went with my coworkers and just three of us had SIX plates and a full bowl of rice! That's how delicious the food was. It was the best Chinese food we've ever had! (We all agreed) . I Don't remember the name of the plates, so I attached images below. All recommend! The waiter was super friendly! Definitely a place to visit. I recommend Chinese style ordering which is each person order a plate so that everyone gets to share.

Went there today. I have to tell you all who do not like the place - you are wrong. The place has amazing food, drinks and prices ARE reasonable. Service is good, tables and surrounding area is very clean. Guys! You have to love and respect the place and people who put the work to it. Amazing spot!

So... I often go to Chelsea to visit my fiancé's father and I've tried a few Chinese food restaurants in the Chelsea area and they are awful. This place is only a mile away from his house and one day we decided to try this place as a last chance in search of good Chinese food in that area. They are excellent!!! I honestly don't have one complaint besides the fact that the lady who works at the front desk is a bit impersonal and unwelcoming. The FOOD however is so good!! We ordered boneless spareribs, house fried rice, shrimp egg foo young, chicken wings and crab Rangoon... Everyone in the household thought the items were delicious and we've gone back a few times since then for more family night fast food meals. It's not too greasy and everything was cooked perfectly, not over cooked or under cooked. Please go here!

THIS!!!!! THIS IS THE PLACE!!!! THEY DO NOT MISS This is the place all other Chinese restaurants need to live up to Their general guas shrimp is to die for. The shrimp are crispy and there's sauce with great taste. One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Boston. I wish there were more like Ho Win.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the food and atmosphere is great! The restaurant looks very clean. The staff is very prompt to assist you and take your order. The shrimp fried rice and pu pu platter were tasty and delicious. I definitely recommend it with the idea of sharing your dishes with everyone in your party, the portions are generous, you won't leave hungry!

Literally just waited over an hour for delivery (never takes more than 20 minutes) only to call to find out where Order is... To find out they are closed for renovation!!! WTF HO WIN...Maybe you should have made your website ordering place aware of that!!! Total Bullshit!

It's all about Sonny @ the bar ....he is the best...makes you feel welcome and you in with him you are certain to enjoy..,my go to drink for Chinese food is a mai tai .... And the food ...well speaks for itself...when I order well-done spare ribs on the bone well all the guys @ the bar want those ribs too! And the plates served are all so good Love all the times I have hung out there! And delivery in my experience has always been spot on. They were kind to call me back before they delivered my order because of a coupon where I did not spend what was needed to cover it. Rather than just not delivering it they asked if I would order say a soda. So that is why Ho Win deserves 5 stars !

Ordered and paid online and the food was ready to go when we arrived at the exact time I had ordered for. (Takeout obviously.) Ordered a pu pu platter for two and pineapple fried rice for a total of $42 after tip. Overall a good experience. Three people each ate a solid plate of food. Pu pu platter for two ($23.50): the items were tasty, just the right amount of greasiness. When it was all spread out on a plate, it was a bit smaller of a portion than I had expected. Pineapple fried rice ($10.95): this was pretty good with a nice variety of flavors with just a very very slight pinch of spice. I would return if I really wanted some good old American Chinese food during quarantine. But it's a bit hard to access in a corner of a busy intersection. Good food, decent value.

Stuck at a hotel waiting to fly out. Nothing is close enough to walk to. Ordered delivery and it was quick. Food was really good and fresh.

Finally some good Chinese food. I'm from the area and would go here often but recently bought a house up in lowell and cannot find anything good up there at all. So figured since I'm working around Chelsea today I'll stop by and grab dinner to bring home. Even thou it sat in my truck for 40min and another 30 minutes when I got home and showered food was still fresh and good. Think I'll just do this from now on lol. Got the fried calamari really good taste pupu platter basic but all good and hot and sour soup. Little pricey but worth it compared to what I have up here in lowell.

We are frequent customers of this restaurant, but that ended tonight. We placed an order for delivery which took about an hour to be delivered. That's not the issue, it usually does. I was given the wrong order. I called to let them know and a gentleman answered and said we'll take it back and send you another. I said we just waited an hour and he said oh well you'll have to wait another. I told him we ordered an L14, he said no an L4. I said no an L14. He told me that's not what was said. He pretty much called us liars and was so rude. He didn't offer a discount or anything just another meal that would take yet another hour. I thought the customer was always right, no I guess just a liar. They need to find a better representative for their business and get rid of that rude man. This loyal customer will never order from them again. So disgraceful...

I have been here before recently and found their food was good but service has been very spotty. I went yesterday afternoon and found a new low. 2pm and seated along with other customers entering the restaurant and no staff except for a bar tender. Eventually, they must have realized there were customers being seated and sent out a woman who proceeded to visit every table without entering a single order of drinks or food to anyone else. Perhaps it was not a day they expected customers....I left as it would be a long time before anything would have been served. Not sure but I think others start to walk out as well. I have met the manager in past visits and I am pretty certain he would have been very unhappy with the poor service and loss of business Sunday and now future days as well.

I ordered pineapple shrimp fried rice, which is not supposed to have ham in it, but what was prepared had ham. It was also supposed to have cashews and scallions, but there was none. This is the highest priced rice there and it was terrible. When I called to say the rice was not supposed to have ham...the girl who answered the phone argued with me and then discovered, by reading the menu herself, that the dish was not supposed to have ham. I asked her to deliver a different rice (shrimp fried rice) since I do not eat ham. The girl told me they had no car for delivery so my son-in-law went to pick up the new rice. My daughter then called the restaurant from a different phone and was told they had delivery. Liars, liars !!! I have been ordering from this overpriced restaurant for years, but no more. Their high prices have allowed them to open a new restaurant in Medford. I am sure it will be just as crappy as Ho Win Palace. Go somewhere else. I will.

Easily the most bland and unflavorful food i have ever tasted. Entrees are $15, but do not come with rice. Ordered chow mein, kung pao chicken, and spicy chicken and not one thing was flavorful. I would not recommend this to someone who is used to actual good food because it will be a disappointment.

I love Ho Win. Great food when you are craving old fashioned Chinese American cuisine. Folks are nice here. We do takeout regularly here and csnt wait to eat in again soon hopefully. Highly recommend.

Their martinis are dangerously good, I get drunk from 2 it was a struggle to finish them but its worth the money can buy. Generous w/ the alcohol. I'm disappointed w/ the salt n pepper calamari, Billy Tse makes it the best & HoWin make calamari too chunky to enjoy. Their sushi is decent but overall good is excellent here. Try the Singapore white noodles it's good w/ your appetizers! I've ordered(9/18/16) for deliver, I said, "I wanted bone in spareribs, it's not what I wanted!" You should have offered to make me a,"bone in spareribs," and have it delivered! But you didn't so therefore you lost 1star!

Greasy, culturally inaccurate Chinese food is actually one of my favorite things on the planet. I have thankfully been introduced to actual Chinese food by Kit Y. over the years, but something always brings me back to the Pu-Pu platter and Lobster Sauce you can get as easily as you can find a Burger King. Ho Win Palace is like a Tiki Bar you would see in a movie that was going for that kitschy hasn't-been-renovated-in-50-years type feel except it's totally genuine, complete with wood paneling, chandeliers, and randomly displayed paper decorations. Points for preservation. The drinks were sadly not served in fake coconuts, but they were strongenough to send even my grandmother's liver into shock. The Spare Ribs were copious, the duck sauce thick and sweet and the chicken fingers were crispy. The odd thing was that before our food came they brought a bread service. Besides the fact that this is totally out of place, they brought us cold, unsliced sub rolls with butter. What? And fortune cookie fortunes were also disparaging, but I can't blame the establishment for that.

Ho win got the chinese food down to a science everything is great hear !!! Their prices are low and great lunch and dinner specials , Their pu pu platters and huge and feed 2 or as many as 10 ,, live the house rice comes with egg and bean sprouts , they always refill the Chinese tea and water food is always hot and fresh , tryed other but keep coming and enjoying here much more , They make the best scorpion fruit bowls and piña colada's and drinks are resonablely priced The place is small but great service and pleanly of parking !! a little outdated but very clean with a very small bar on opposite dinning side but tv is always on for sports or news of the night ,, can't wait to visit agian !!!

Went out to dinner at ho win palace in everett,ma and as we were sitting there eating our appetizers we saw a bug walking all over and through our pork lo mein and we called our waitress over to show her and with the light from my phone she could actually see the bug crawling around in the food and then had the nerve to still charge us the full dinner bill!!!!! I WILL DEFINITELY BE CALLING THE EVERETT,MA BOARD OF HEALTH IN THE MORNING!!! DON'T EAT HERE!!!!

Had a great lunch here today. The place is modern, clean, good prices, and nice staff. I got the lunch California Roll and Sweet Potato Maki $7. It was excellent. I will be back to try more sushi for sure.

Placed a simple order of sweet and sour chicken. Didn't get any rice included even after it was requested. The chicken was super greasy. Didn't get any utensils either.

Go see Sunny...he's the best bartender. Amazing personality and amazing drinks!! The food is BOMB.
