We had a fabulous stay at this boutique hotel. All aspects were excellent but what really stood out was the friendliness and willingness of the staff. Any requests or questions were met with prompt and great recommendations! The location is perfect for restaurants and exploring Edgartown, and the breakfast is like eating in your home with a friendly kitchen staff. Rooms are well kept and very clean and the chocolate chip cookies at night are the perfect compliment to the perfect stay!

Great boutique bed and breakfast in a quiet part of town. It is a beautiful hotel/bed and breakfast which is in easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and the wharf. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The hotel has plenty of quiet spots to retreat to when you want to rest up during the day. The wrap around porch is well appointed with comfortable furniture and beautiful flowers. The garden has plenty of outdoor seating also. We enjoyed going in May when we had the hotel to ourselves and were able to interact with the staff, which included the lovely ladies in the kitchen who made us our breakfast and delicious baked goods. Abby and Jackson are the best hosts! Our rooms were beautifully appointed and maintained daily which was a lovey treat to come home to at the end of the day. They had a spread of delicious snacks and baked goods and drinks available during the day to tide us over until dinner. We had a lovey time exploring Edgartown and then taking the free bus to the neighboring towns. We left our car on the mainland and took the passenger ferry to the island. No need for a taxi, you can grab the free bus at the dock and it will take you directly to Edgartown. Jackson hooked us up with the bus schedule and gave us recommendations for restaurants which was much appreciated. We really enjoyed being able to spend extra time talking with Jackson since the hotel was slow while we were there. We will definitely be back next May! We enjoyed the quietness of all the towns before all the crowds came in. We found the restaurant and shop owners to be very kind and friendly. Eileen and Joe

Hob Knob has become my second home whenever I visit Martha’s Vineyard. I have stayed here several times and each time has been sheer perfection. Everything from Abby (the cheerful, ultra accommodating and helpful Inn Keeper/Manager) to the cozy/charming /comfy/clean rooms, to the perfect location, to the delicious breakfasts (I dream of those scones!) , to the relaxing nooks and crannies throughout the inn where you can read, sip coffee ( or wine) throughout the day and unwind. The only reason I didn’t give service 5 stars is that my breakfast orders were never quite right ( there appeared to be a language barrier with the dining room server taking our order) but the meals were so delicious that I ate whatever was presented to me even if my order wasn’t correct and I didn’t complain. But if you have allergies or really dislike a certain ingredient, please be very very careful when ordering and check your food before you dig in. I dislike peppers. Every morning I asked for no peppers in my veggie omelette ( or burrito). Every morning I got them anyway in my eggs. But everyone is so friendly and lovely, I simply pushed them aside and enjoyed my meal. Other than that, every other aspect of the service at Hob Knob is top notch. I look forward to going back many, many more times.

Lovely hotel with fabulous staff and the best air conditioning we’ve ever had! It was 38c so a great test :-). The team there are all delightful and the location for us was excellent…. Just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. All their recommendations were excellent too.

We felt so welcome throughout our stay at Hob Nob in Edgartown. Our elegant room was cozy and had so many nice touches. We enjoyed made-to-order breakfasts in their lovely dining room, and especially appreciated Hob Nob's location on Main Street - walking distance to the beach and harbor. Highly recommend!

Stay here! It is beautiful on the inside and outside! Our room was perfectly appointed. We were on the 3rd floor and assistance was provided with our luggage. Molton Brown toiletries are a great treat. They even provide a little bedtime oil for your temples to soothe and relax you at the end of the day. And scrumptious breakfast! One morning I felt like having pancakes and even though they weren't on the menu that morning, mama made them special for me! So delicious! All the staff were professional, courteous, and friendly. You'll love it here.

Yelp
I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at this lovely bed and breakfast in mid May. Abby was excellent in making out stay so pleasant. Our room was so quaint and darling. The lady's that prepared our gourmet breakfast each morning were so kind and welcoming. The food was exceptional, the location of Hob Knob is ideal and has easy access to downtown restaurants and activities. I would highly recommend this lovely place to anyone. Thank you Abby you are simply the best!

Yelp
HELD HOSTAGE. Booked the suite for Memorial Day weekend . Chose hotel because it was suppose to have won accolades as " the most dog friendly hotel in all of Cape Cod" . Quite the contrary When we arrived we never were greeted with dog welcome package, not even a biscuit to be offered It was a cold rainy Memorial Day in which we stayed indoors in our room most of the day . We didn't even come down for breakfast We left dogs for a few hours in the mid afternoon to get dinner We were constantly harassed by the inn keeper that our dogs may be barking. We would have to drop what we're doing and drive back from across the island . Not once when we drove back did we hear the dogs bark. Inn keeper claiming she was trying to be "proactive" At one point we were having a 5 course tasting/ wine pairing at Charlotte inn several blocks away, which we had to leave as we were starting dinner to check on our dogs which the inn keeper later stated she realized only barked a second as we closed the room door to leave. Our room was situated on Main Street with active rain storms throughout the day . To hear and occasional bark is one the thing but to claim our dogs were consistently barking all day long is another especially when we're leaving dinner to rush over to make sure our dogs are Furthermore once it was made clear that they did not want us leaving our dogs there was no hospitality or accommodations made by the inn keeper to see how she could make our experience better Not once did we come down for breakfast and the inn keeper never offered to bring something upstairs for us Overall. I would say that the hotel is in a prime downtown location in edgartown, has well appointed rooms, and late night chocolate chip cookies However this hotel ultimately fails as they label themselves dog friendly. There is a big difference to say pets are tolerated versus welcome If you are traveling with your pet companions I would highly suggest skipping this hotel

Yelp
Daughter and I stayed here 4 nights. Adorable and very friendly staff. Front desk very helpful and the place is beautiful & very clean! Would definitely stay here again! Pretty wrap porch!!Also incredible breakfast included in your stay! Can't say enough good things about this little boutique hotel. Loved it!

Yelp
Warm and welcoming with an extraordinary service level which is so rare nowadays. This is a beautiful luxury boutique hotel in Martha's Vineyard. A representative called me a couple days prior to arrival to ask if she could help make restaurant reservations. Who does that? Great first impression. The rooms are beautiful with high end linens, New England decor and a general atmosphere of tranquility, rest and relaxation. They serve a farm-to-table breakfast and afternoon tea. There is a charming family room where they serve port (on the house) in the evenings. On my last day (this was a business trip), because I did not have time to have breakfast, I asked if they would consider preparing a to-go breakfast for me, and THEY DID!. No complaints, no excuses, no "rules" even though they typically only serve breakfast in the dining room. They packed a delicious egg sandwich with scones on the side. This is a winner and I shall return.

Yelp
If you're Jewish don't stay here. I was in town with my family a few years ago and after they messed up our reservation the Karen manager told us "You're not in New York anymore, we don't do things like that here." Well, we're not from New York but we absolutely knew what she meant. It was a terrible experience. Local service people have confirmed her bigotry and I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone. Find somewhere more tolerant to stay.

Yelp
Stayed at the Hob Knob for two days around my wedding in May of 2011. The place was beautiful and my new mother-in-law who has a house on the Vineyard was impressed and going to use the place when her house was overflowing with guests. We had the private entrance room which was lovely except you could hear the music in the dining room at an ungodly early hour (waking up at 7AM the morning after your wedding because of music downstairs was incredibly unpleasant). The reason for the one star review was because all of the cash in my purse was stolen. I didn't think twice about leaving my purse in the room which I suppose was my fault, but I tend to be a trusting person. It took two days for a manager to call me back to discuss the situation. He promised an investigation and was to follow up with me but I never heard from him again. It's a shame. He would have had more business from our family but this severely tainted our stay here and our wedding.

Yelp
My family and I chose this cute hotel when we came to the island for a wedding. In spite of several phone calls to verify our reservation, the hotel got it wrong. They acknowledged the error was theirs but they offered zero help to correct it. Their mistake cost us hundreds more. The only advice from the owner/manager or whatever she was, was to suggest we stay somewhere else. Well, we couldn't do that on that trip, but you can bet we'll look elsewhere for our next visit. Much about this place is it's looks, it is pretty, but that's all there is. You'll be paying luxury rates, you could stay at the Pierre in New York for the same price (and they know how to run hotel and treat their guests!). Adding insult to injury, breakfast was cold and meh. Management is horrendous. The manager also threw in a comment along the lines of, "well, maybe that's how you people do things in the city, but we're not in in the city." I wonder what she meant by that?

Yelp
Stayed here in march off season. Best place ever. Great experience. Proposed to my now wife and loved every minute of it. Will be back for new years. Charming, loving and amazing time. Thanks.

Yelp
My husband and I loved our recent stay at the Hob Knob. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in Martha's Vineyard. Diane, the hotel manager, was extremely welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. The rooms were spotless. In fact, everything throughout the hotel was extremely clean. We really enjoyed the sitting area on the front porch. It was the perfect place to relax after a busy day of shopping and exploring. Everyday, we looked forward to waking up and having the delicious farm to table breakfast. I commend Diane and her entire staff. No details are missed when it comes to providing top notch service and accommodations on the island. We can't wait to stay here again.

Yelp
Nice place, but absolutely some of the rudest people running it. We usually love b&b's because they're cozy and friendly, a perfect retreat. These people are so unpleasant, I'm not sure why they went into this business. Pretty much ruined our vacation. We would never stay again.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Hob Knob twice this winter while house hunting. The off season rates were great and the coziness of the inn with its beautiful sitting areas and fire in the fireplace make it a surprisingly nice winter destination. The staff is very personable and helpful. Also they have a couple of dog friendly rooms which is very nice, although there is a hefty charge to have them stay.

Yelp
Poor reservation system left me out over 600 dollars with no recourse. Hotel completely unsympathetic. Stay elsewhere.

Yelp
We were looking for someplace special in Edgartown. We hadn't been to the Vineyard or taken a vacation in ages. Thanks to Diane and the entire Hob Knob team, we had a blissful 26th anniversary stay! It began with our early communications. We found to our disappointment that many of the inns in Edgartown no longer serve breakfast in the off-season. (Seriously, if you're a B&B, you should serve breakfast, even if it's just a daily muffin and coffee, otherwise you're just a B.) I'm vegan, so I emailed a request. they graciously accommodated my simple needs (and would've been willing to do more). The inn (a "boutique hotel" whatever that is) and our room were beautiful, elegantly appointed and cozy. The living room had a fire roaring every evening, very toasty. The breakfast exceeded all of our expectations. Far from just a humble muffin, The Hob Knob serves a multi-course breakfast, a large fruit selection, eggs, breads, muffins, scones, pancakes, too much to name, all served in their elegant, sunny dining rooms. Diane was our principal contact in all things, enthusiastically agreeable, and by the end we were on very friendly terms. My one disappointment was that I didn't have time during our stay to read and write on their idyllic front porch. It rained for two of the our three nights there, but even so we had a wonderful time with warm memories. Thank you, Diane, and please give our warm thanks to your entire staff. We had a wonderful time and hope to see you again soon!

Yelp
A beautiful inn in a convenient location, HOWEVER, the staff seemed aloof and the nickel/diming for bikes, water and the like is offensive. Signing a $70 penalty acknowledgement if the key isn't returned when checking in was odd, as were all the signs about how much you'd be charged if things were missing (do people really take the ugly bathrobes?). Saying you're an "Eco-Friendly" hotel, I've learned, means, we don't change the sheets daily and if you want clean towels and refills on shampoo, etc..., you have to ask. The porch is beautiful but noisy. The breakfast (ONE SELECTION PER GUEST, PLEASE!) was okay. Great the first day, horrible the next two. Room was nice, bathroom ridiculously small. Front desk-controlled AC resulted in a hot room nearly all the time. It was nice but expected more for the price. Won't stay there again. They are cutting corners and it is more than obvious.

Yelp
I was not terribly impressed by this place. Our room on the first floor was very loud-we could hear every footstep and noise made by the people above us. The Inn is also located right on the main drag which made sitting out on their adorable deck and/ or patio mildly unpleasant. The staff were a mixed bag. The owner (?) seemed generally annoyed but some others were very kind. We rented bikes from them and one of them broke down half way around the island. We had to schlep the bike about half a mile to the nearest repair shop and deal with the fact that the folks from Hob Knob wanted to be sent the bill for the bike repair and the bike shop said no-they did not trust that they would ever get paid. It was just a strange situation. Yes they credited the bike rental fee which was the right thing to do. Lastly-while on vacation my husband's father ended up in the ER for emergency surgery so we had to leave a day early to go see him. We called the front desk to explain our predicament and they said they imagined we would get credited due to the circumstances. However the next morning we were told that we would have to pay for the room unless they could fill it. It just felt wrong to me. I understand a business has to stay afloat but this was an exception. Anyway I would definitely NOT return to this inn. and I don't recommend it. Sorry for long rant.

Yelp
Stayed at the Hob Nob for two nights in a single room which was larger than I expected it would be. Really good scones for breakfast along with lots more yummy food. The staff is great and very pleasant.
