Hobcaw Brewing Company

A great place to enjoy excellent craft beer. We were lucky enough to be able to rent out the whole place for our son's rehearsal dinner. Platia's food truck brought in a great buffet, the Hobcaw team were very welcoming and helpful, and guests of all ages loved the casual vibe and the great choices of drinks on offer. Perfect venue for our celebration--thanks!

First time at this little brewery and was pleasantly surprised. They pack a lot into such a small place and make use of every inch of space to create several unique niches. The initial taproom is bright clean refreshing clear and precise. Bright coastal vibes. Tried almost all the beers the Under The Oak bourbon barrel aged barleywine was a definite winner followed up by Ubergang and this is coming from someone who normally enjoys lighter beers. These 2 options were still very light and easy drinking but packed with tons of great flavor. Outside there was a great food truck Wedge, tons of seating and an area for the kids to play. Inside through the taproom there's a cozy seating area with all the great smells of a brewery followed by a huge open wharehouse area with a few games and very large TVs to watch the game. They also had some vendors there when we went selling all types of different things so keep an eye on insta to see what's going on.

Great little brewery hidden behind an industrial area. Beers and service were excellent. Great selection of Lagers my preference of craft brews. Must check it out. Been to dozens of breweries in south Carolina and this one checks all the boxes. I understand they have awesome food trucks coming to the brewery Cheers!

Fresh, crushable beer in a cool space. Indoor seating available as well as dog friendly outdoor/warehouse spaces. Plenty of TVs for watching sports, as well as a ton of brewery games. Definitely a good place to hang out

My wife and I are making the rounds of the many breweries located in the Charleston area. Today we spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Hobcaw in Mt Pleasant to see what they had to offer.! What we found was a great place to hang out and enjoy some really good beer. We ended up doing three flights that enabled us to sample all 12 beers on tap. A wide variety from sours to IPA to stouts with other options mixed in. Our bar tender Steve was knowledgeable and friendly in what turned out to be a relaxing afternoon. A good food truck on hand Libs offered some tasty options. Large seating area inside and out. Well done will certainly return!

Cute little brewery in Mount Pleasant South Carolina, a short drive from Isle of Palms or Sullivan's Island. Good beer, friendly service, bright and welcoming decor. Stop by for a flight, a few beers or grab a crowler or cans to go.

Best brewery in Charleston if not all of SC. Ambiance, quality of beer, and an amazing staff make this place a must visit. Chris is always making sure quality food trucks are available for customers, swapping out beers regularly, and great beer is always on draft. The folks behind the bar, paired with beer under the oaks, means you can come back every day of the week and never get sick of it (believe me, my husband and I have done it). IPA drinkers especially must visit this brewery - always multiple on draft and constant rotations. If this hasn’t convinced you, it’s kid friendly & has Sunday ticket! PS - extra points if you come in on Tuesday ($2 off pints!) & Wednesday when our favorite bartender Erin is behind the bar!

Hobcaw Brewery is the best place for getting together for an evening of fun and beer. I was able to have a beautiful surprise milestone birthday party. All my guests were in awe of this hidden gem! Very accommodating, open, and friendly. This is truly the best place in Mount Pleasant! Thank you Hobcaw Brewery for the most momentous evening that 40 of us will never forget.

We discovered Hobcaw Brewing because they graciously hosted the Angry Giant Forge event, moved from a neighboring brewery because of inclement weather. I'm so glad they were willing because we really enjoyed our visit. They offer plenty of options for tasting flights, as well as beverages other than beer. Service was super friendly! Like many breweries, they also invite a variety of food trucks to serve customers. When we visited, it was The Wedge (a wow). Quick FYI, there's a modest sign at the street. Once you turn off of Long Point, drive past the warehouse that fronts the street to the brewery. There's plenty of parking

An absolute dream set up for families - tucked away from the road, big outdoor space with tables and areas for kids to run around. My niece and nephew had a BLAST. As did my puppy. Food options were amazing at the food truck (the wedge). Tasty beer and good mix of types.

I recently checked out this brewery to try one of their new black IPAs. It's a collaboration brew with Tha Community Brew. I'm always excited to try something new and this was really good. They also have a lot of other options. I tried one of their coffee brews and that was a great one as well. If you ever in the Mount Pleasant location, I think you should check them out. It's a cute little brewery tucked away but I found their menu to be quite small. They have few sours and very limited wine for those not into beer which were all out when I went to visit. I ended up not getting anything so not a successful trip. Interior is very cute tho. Indoor and outdoor seating available and I saw a food truck last time. Not sure they have food otherwise?

I love this place. The vibes were awesome, the beer was great across the board. They have a fantastic variety of different beers and I really appreciate that. I always get a flight no matter what brewery I go to and I always tend to get 4 completely different styles. This place gave me many options to choose from which was great! Bartenders were incredibly quick and had great conversations with us. When we went there was a cornhole tournament, while we didn't partake we sat outside and enjoyed the ambiance with cute lights and great vibes!

Nice brewery with a nice selection of brews. Several breweries close by. This was our first stop. Plenty of seating inside/outside. And food truck. Yay

1st time visiting Hobcaw. Was there for a spoken word event. Inside is comfy and trendy. The event was in the back area, which has large bay doors. It was hot outside, but they had fans all over, and we picked seats in front of one. I'm not a beer drinker, but they have wine, sours, & ciders on the menu. The service was quick & nice. They give samples to try before purchasing a glass. Ordered their Tropical Muse Sour, which had nice tropical fruit flavors, and was very refreshing.

Great little spot in Mt Pleasant to watch a game and have a beer or three. Bartenders are very attentive and quick to offer a sample. Kid and dog friendly. Lots of seating outside, and a warehouse space with massive tvs for watching the games. Food trucks vary daily. They usually keep a dozen-ish different beers on tap so there should be something available for everyone. Can get crowlers to take home. Drinking a Shadows of the Afternoon now, great stuff.

Such a great spot! Wonderfully done on the inside with game room and lots of gathering space. Loved the outdoor space as well. Beer was great and staff was nice and helpful! Went for an Oyster Roast, but will definitely be back to hang out and have drinks!

I went here for a Yelp Burger event and decided to try the beer. My go to choice is a sour so I choose the Before I Go. It has a flavor profile of blueberry, vanilla, and cinnamon. It had a really nice taste and mouth feel. I enjoyed the aftertaste more & the blueberry notes were very apparent. There's a lot of seating outside but not a lot inside. Definitely recommend if you like being outdoors. Service was fast & efficient.

Overall: Our favorite neighborhood brewery! The good: Great tasting beers, with a healthy variety of sours, IPAs, wheats, etc. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with TVs and speakers throughout. We love their free trivia nights and go there often for that. They have other sport watching events as well, and I'm sure other events on the calendar. Staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Kid and dog (I think?) friendly if that's your jam. The not-so-good: Limited food options (basically just whatever food truck is there and snacks). Needs a bigger sign by Longpoint, it can be easy to miss if it's darker outside. Food/drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10

Wow! I can't believe I haven't written a review of Hobcaw Brewing yet. I have said so many great things about it to friends, family, and strangers, I suppose I was mistaken. Hobcaw Brewing is hands down one of my favorite places to hang out in Mt. Pleasant. I was so pleased when I first visited here during the pandemic (a place to hang outside and drink safely and comfortably), and I have been coming back ever since. The outdoor seating is vast and abundant, and often times the brewery has food trucks parked right out front for patrons to purchase and enjoy on site. Inside, the facility seems to never end. I feel like I am always discovering a new area to sit or back room to walk in each time I go. There are places to sit near the tap, quiet and cozy seating midway back, and even a large room with bigger tables and seating areas to hangout if you have a larger group. It is not uncommon to see kids and families spending time at Hobcaw Brewing together, and dogs are certainly welcome, too. Everything is clean - restrooms, beer glasses, sitting areas, and the atmosphere is so laid back and chill, I feel like I can truly be myself there (a nice escape from other areas in town). Importantly, beers are delicious, styles varied, and prices reasonable. The bartenders appear to enjoy their job and don't hesitate to provide their recommendations. I have had so much fun at Hobcaw Brewing over last few years, and I hope this is place that will stay for a long, long time. I would certainly consider this for an event venue for birthdays, retirement parties, and large friend gatherings. Great job, Hobcaw!

We went to Hobcaw brewing on the perfect Saturday afternoon for a fundraiser hosted at Hobcaw. The location allowed for a very large group of people with their Golden Retrievers to have space to sit, stand or mingle. Food truck on site was delicious as well and their beer selection was nice. Little selection of merchandise as well.

Great beer! I'm a hazy IPA fan and their Hearts for Brains was amazing. It was a rainy Friday afternoon so we were inside. But outside area is great. Fun bartenders. Must do brewery when in CHS.

Overall a great selection of beers (reasonably price )and service was friendly. They are super kid friendly which was an awesome plus! They had drinks and certain food items for order. The space is huge and definitely worth the visit!

Opening a new business is never easy, especially a brewery. Throw in a global pandemic, and it's even tougher. Hobcaw Brewing opened in the Fall of 2020, but they've certainly got the beer mastered. Hobcaw Brewing is a simple brewery that serves beer and a few snacks for purchase. They had nine beers on tap and a good variety with IPAs, hops, a sour, and even a hard seltzer. You won't find frose, wine, beer cocktails, or foods made from beer, at least not right now. Food trucks and pop-ups come out occasionally, but if that's not your thing, this exit from I-526 has plenty of restaurants. Anyway, plan to come for the beer and not the "extras". The outdoor area has picnic tables and is shaded to keep you cool. Indoor seating is limited right now, although there's a large room/space attached where yoga classes are held and people can rent it out for events. I had the Young Love sour, which is basically strawberry lemonade in beer form. It's 5.2% ABV but a very easy-to-drink beer for summer. The brew-tender was nice enough to let me try it first, but if you like sours, you'll like this beer. Most beers are available to go as well. Although I didn't see any dogs, Hobcaw Brewing has dog treats on the counter, so I'm guessing they are dog friendly. Parking is plentiful but located near the building and not fenced, so if you bring your pup, keep him leashed. While it's no-frills, I'd definitely come back to Hobcaw Brewing to relax and unwind. It's a welcome addition to a part of Mt. Pleasant that's home to many breweries.

We went to Hobcaw twice in the month of May 2021. Once for the Forge your Own Forge in Fire Event and then a couple weeks later on a Friday night for Blackout Burgers. The first time I was there was for the forge event on a Sunday. The weather was perfect! The crowd wasn't that big since we got there right when it opened at noon. Besides the perfect weather, the chill vibe of the place and the people who work there make it really easy to just stay and hang out. Plus they had a sour beer, Young Love that was perfect for me. That's the only sour and the only beer I drank both visits. Friday night with Blackout Burger it was a completely different scene. Packed. Lots of kids. But the vibe inside when getting beers was the same relaxed chill feel and makes this place easy to love. They have tons of parking and always seem to have great food trucks and pop ups. If in Mt P. Check this brewery out

Eh. We tried all 12 brews on tap. Personally, neither one of us liked any of them enough to buy a whole one. The warehouse are is NOT for summer time. Outside was a good vibe though. Inside, while cool, was just too loud. With a handful of people we were already shouting at each other. It was advertised as "wing night Wednesday" but the food truck that came only did chicken nuggets. If they were in Yelp I'd review them, but they aren't. Overall, there are too many breweries in the area to come here without a different reason, like a company party or something. Wish they had one really great beer to anchor them.

Great place. Staff was nice, helpful, and very informative. Let us try a few before making up our minds. 'Out of Frame' is a great choice if you like IPAs but want to go back to a lager. Outside was nice and mostly shaded. Had an industrial fan set up to help keep bugs away and keep cool. If you like trying out micro brews you won't be disappointed.

This is such a welcoming brewery - fun for family, couples, dog lovers. Their beer is very good and they offer wine and prosecco! They have a large indoor area (really more than one) and outdoor. Very friendly staff!! Please fix the foosball table that was installed backwards!

Loved the beer and the place itself is super cute! They have plenty of space to sit inside and out and a good beer selection. It's probably one of my favorite breweries I've been to in awhile.

Beers are pretty good! The lot getting to the brewery, and the parking lot itself are pretty flooded, though. Service is good, and they have a nice selection of beers! Flights are available, a self pour water station is available, dog treats are offered for pets, and there is PLENTY of seating, especially if you go through the back door and into the garage. Very nice, chill atmosphere. I recommend the lager and the stout!

One of our favorite breweries around. I'm not a beer drinker (gasp) but love they accommodate wine drinkers as well. Staff is amazing, hubby absolutely loves their beers..... great outside area for kids to play.

What a great find while we were in Mt. Pleasant! Abby was an amazing server and gave us great feedback on where to go while we are visiting. Can't wait to come on back!

My wife and I recently visited Charleston for a friend's wedding. Minneapolis-based beer bloggers, we fit in as many South Carolina breweries as we could in the few days that we had. Hobcaw Brewing was the first South Carolina brewery we visited during our visit, and -- we thought -- it was a great start. The taproom is tucked away in an industrial area, but -- once there -- is really charming. We loved the colors and atmosphere -- very clean and modern, almost coffee shop-like. The weather was nice enough to be outside, where a fire pit was going and live music playing from the stage. The beer was good -- nothing stand-out but definitely enjoyable. We had a chance to chat with the owner Chris, who told us they had opened during COVID, which we admired. I've got a hunch Hobcaw will only continue growing and improving in its local reputation; I'd recommend a visit for sure. This an awesome place to drink beer! Tons of outdoor seating and room for the kids to play. Nicely shaded as well. Plenty of good beers on tap. The double ipa was my favorite. Has some indoor seating as well. Was nice that food truck was there to give you food options. Great to have so many good breweries near by!

If you like New England ipa's you're in the right place! Nice place to go for live music and a great atmosphere.

This is a wonderful, family friendly craft beer brewery. The owners, Chris and Tiffany, go out of their way to make sure their customers have an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is set up to be social, with outdoor seating, food trucks, occasional live music, and sports on the televisions. Outside there are fire pits for the cooler days, and there is always 10 choices of finely crafted beer. You cannot go wrong at Hobcaw brewery. Best Brewery in a country mile.

The vibes at hobcaw are immaculate their outdoor space Is so cute! They have organically created such a fun and casual atmosphere. Not to mention their wide beer selection. I would absolutely recommend the want to see the galaxy! It's the best sour I've ever had. I spoke to the owners who were extremely friendly and told me they frequently have live music and a new food truck everyday. If you live in the Charleston area hobcaw is a must visit!

Best Brewery in Mount Pleasant and if you like IPAs, best beer in town. Chris & team are super welcoming & constantly making updates to make you keep coming back. No shortage of food trucks, and beer releases every Wednesday. The oaks over the picnic tables make this a year-round favorite, but if you can't stand the heat or the cold, the completely redone back warehouse is filled with huge tvs, games, and tables to fit a crowd.

A great new little brewery off Longpoint. They have 6 beers on tap right now- 3 of which are IPAs. I tried all three (and the coffee stout) and each of them were excellent. Very family friendly with lots of outdoor seating. They were very busy- so there was a wait to order beers- but the people there are a nice and honest about the fact they just opened and are still working out the kinks. Food trucks onsite if you're hungry. Can't wait to go back!

Usually a new brewery needs a little time to get their recipes/process figured out. Not the case here! IPA lovers dream with a decent lager and coffee stout. Had four different beers which were all outstanding. Maybe some outdoor speakers for music and a TV or two to catch some game highlights and their all set. Definitely my new favorite local brewery.

This is a very good brewery! I didn't read much about it, but thought we'd try it anyway. The beers are top notch. Some great hop forward IPA's and solid sours. The service was fantastic! We loved their outdoor beer patio. The food truck there that night had very good Italian food. If you are checking out the four breweries in that small area, definitely stop here.

First time coming to this brewery and completely impressed. Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, live music, and amazing beer. If you're in Charleston, you have to make a stop here and check it out!
