"You won’t find the typical supper club décor at the HobNob, which opened in 1954. The atmosphere is decidedly funkier with colorful tapestries and art deco artwork, and a row of white upholstered chairs arranged around a long curved bar where Frank Sinatra would look at home— no moose head in sight. The dining room overlooks Lake Michigan, and you will find all the traditional fare here including a Friday night fish fry, and signature ice cream drinks like Brandy Alexanders and grasshoppers."

5 Stars - A Perfect Venue for a Celebration! I had the pleasure of decorating for my nephew’s graduation from Marquette University at Hobnob on Sheridan Road, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff was incredibly accommodating from the moment we arrived & we were able to set up with ease. The service was top-notch—especially from our server, Connor. His professionalism, attentiveness, and friendly demeanor stood out and made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, served hot and right on time. The event went off without a hitch, and what really makes Hobnob special is the ambiance. As the night goes on, the venue illuminates with a stunning glow—it’s simply gorgeous. Whether you're planning a graduation party, dinner gathering, baby shower, or any special event, I highly recommend Hobnob. The process was smooth from start to finish. Thank you, Hobnob, for helping create such a memorable night. Ten out of ten for me!

I had high hopes for this place. My wife made reservations a month in advance for my birthday. Upon arriving we were amazed at the location, right on Lake Michigan. Inside the ambiance was perfect. Had an old school vibe. I promptly ordered an old fashioned and it didn’t disappoint. We were greeted by our server, Caroline, who was the nicest person you could meet. She promptly took our order and informed me that there was a limited amount of Prime Rib left. The dinner rolls, clam chowder, escargot and shrimp cocktail were great. That’s when things took a turn for the worst. The entrees arrived. I ordered the double cut prime rib medium rare. It looked like it was carved with a butter knife. An $86 entree and half of it was fat, and it was over done - medium. The rest was not very tender. Very hard to cut. And wasn’t very warm. My wife ordered the Chicken Oscar. The chicken breast was dry and overdone. Even my kids chopped steak was overcooked. I complain about my entree being half fat and all the manager would do is give us some dessert which I didn’t even want, but I didn’t want to make a big scene as it was a birthday gift from my wife. We decided that in the future we’ll just come for the ambiance, appetizers and drinks. I would not recommend coming here for dinner.

Firstly, I want to thank the HOBNOB for making my girlfriend's birthday the best she can remember. We walked in and were greeted by our first surprise, a coat check. We showed up about 20 minutes early for our reservation and made our way over to the bar and was met by the bartender, making everyone laugh and have a great time. After enjoying a couple cocktails we were seated, and ordered. Our food was experty prepared and our beverages were beautifully made. The building is gorgeous, sitting just on the edge of lake Michigan, with big windows looking out onto the water. Decorated for Valentine's Day, it felt like a step back in time and a step forward into luxury. We will definitely be returning for the summer, we would love to see how everything is handled with the summer and the weather it brings.

We were given a gift card to celebrate our 10 year anniversary celebration here. This has been on my list to try for quite some time. Overall, the ambience and atmosphere outweighed the quality of food; however for the experience alone, it's worth a go. You walk in and have seemed to time travel completely. The restaurant decor, bar, architecture is gorgeous as is the view of the lake. We had a corner booth which was both romantic and allowed for a nice, intimate setting. The service was very prompt and detail oriented. I was a fan of how our server integrated the history of the establishment as a part of the details on specials and other recommendations. They pride themselves in serving a full 3 course meal which would be of common practice for a true supper club where each entree comes with soup & salad before the meal. They also serve warm rolls and butter. We had a bottle of the Coppola Director's Cut Cabernet that was a featured item both of which was a great price point and delicious. For the soup we both ordered chicken dumpling. It was lacking in flavor, but once we added salt and pepper, it was delicious. Warm butter and rolls are always appreciated by this carb lover, so we were for that. They offer 3 types of salad: Hot Bacon Spinach, Caesar, & House with a creamy garlic dressing. I ordered the spinach salad, but unfortunately they drowned the spinach with dressing it was far too sweet and ruined it. The house garlic dressing was very good, but they do serve a large ramekin of it on the side, so I would recommend not using all of it or it may be too much. I ordered crab cakes. They were beautifully cooked and a perfect size. The flavor was on point as well but unfortunately the remoulade tasted like a thick thousand Island dressing, so I ate the rest without. My husband ordered the t-bone that was featured and initially it came out with the exterior looking like the color of pork and not steak, way too underdone. They did fire it for a bit more time, and when it came back out it was at a perfect cook with beautiful char grill marks. Unfortunately, the cut was only about a half inch thick and lacked flavor. The potato sides offered were just ok as well. The shining stars of the evening were the experience of sitting in the stunning dining room & bar area and the pianist they had playing as live entertainment. He was absolutely outstanding!!! He alone made the evening so much more enjoyable. I would most definitely return to sit at the bar, look out at the beautiful view of the lake on a Saturday evening and enjoy his top notch talent once again, with a bottle of wine or a novelty ice cream drink, although I would not make it a point to return for the food, unfortunately.

Very beautiful place, nice staff. The food needs some work. The appetizers are small for the price and the prime rib had a weird texture. For a place this special, the food should match.

I do not recommend the Hob Nob at all! I went there last night to celebrate my birthday. The food was a huge disappointment and we spent over $350 on our bill. I ordered the T-bone special and it was disgusting. They say their steaks are grilled, but that is a lie!! The steaks are cooked sous vie and then thrown on the grill for one minute to leave some grill marks. If you don't know what sous vie is, it's basically a fancy way of boiling a steak. I absolutely hate steaks cooked sous vie and then thrown on the grill. The server insisted they do not cook the steaks sous vie, so I asked for a New York Strip instead. That steak came out cooked sous vie and was so gross, it made me gag. I asked the server to take the steak off the bill because it was nasty. So she charged me for the mashed potatoes and the green beans that come with the steak meal, even though those were also nasty and I didn't even eat them!! Another family member had the chicken Alfredo and it was so disgusting she didn't even eat it. She boxed it up and threw it away and soon as we left. Another family member had 1lb of King Crab legs and they were dry and coated it Lowrys seasoning salt. He did not like the crab legs at all. Additionally, the service was not good at all. The server came to the table every few minutes and kept removing all of our plates and utensils. She took my plate for my bread before I could even eat any bread. We couldn't even carry a conversation without constantly being interrupted. The server also was clueless about how the steaks were cooked and she told us that Mr. Pibb was the same as Dr. Pepper (I completely disagree). Lastly, someone accidentally dropped some dishes and shattered some glass. I totally understand that this happens sometimes. However, they didn't even clean the glass up properly and there was still shattered glass on the floor when I used the bathroom and when we left the restaurant. I honestly would have enjoyed any other restaurant in the Kenosha/Racine area way better than the Hob Nob. Even Mc Donald's would have been a better choice. I would save your money and go eat at Fireside.

Went for Easter brunch. Not only was the two hour wait for food ridiculous - the food was inedible. Even the scrambled eggs were all brown and dried out. The bacon had a very strong terrible, spoiled taste - and 2 strips for $6.00 together with one piece of toast. The chicken and waffles was cold and the chicken hard - I would give this place a hard pass until they completely change chefs and food suppliers. How hard is it to have fresh fruit, rather than insipid, mushy, frozen, pink strawberries? It’s a restaurant - you need to serve people edible food!

Had brunch with some friends. The cinnamon roll was fabulous! Breakfast was ok an a little over priced. The mimosa flight was very good, as well as the Bloody Mary.

Yelp
This is a Kenosha staple. Yes, this place was either designed by a mobster or drag queen, think velvet and 1950's dinning experience. You won't forget the interior! But, If you have a date night or a business dinner the quality is outstanding. They also have a great Friday night fish fry. The food is not cheap, but worth the price. Outstanding service. If you drink, the grasshoppers are a drink and desert in one that will not disappoint. Overall, I recommend this for a date night or if you want just a great restaurant over looking Lake.

Yelp
Yesterday evening I dined at Hobnob in Racine. Perhaps I should write that I...attempted...to dine there. Two stars, and even this seems too great a rating for this establishment. The first star is, of course, for the ambience: a period-piece supper club perfect for an episode of 'Mad Men' with real tapers at the tables, marbleised wall tiles, flocked velvet banquettes, and splendid jazz. The second star is for the view of Lake Michigan from the bar: truly spectacular and wonderfully captivating. As for the service, and the food...well. Our waitress was friendly, but not friendly. Polite, but not welcoming. She seemed to ignore my dinner partner throughout our meal, but certainly gave me some considerable attention. So. Now, the food. I'd heard some great things about Hobnob and perhaps at one time it served very good food. Not last night. My steak au poivre was full of gristle and fat, thoroughly bland, and utterly tasteless. The béarnaise had congealed atop it, and the entire platter was served barely warm. Not hot, not just hot, not warm. Barely warm. How does a steak...at this price...taste this awful? The Caesar salad was not much better: far too much dressing and the lettuce was not cold. The dressing was not freshly made, and tasted like metal shavings. The potatoes au gratin, thankfully, were piping hot, and remained so throughout. But, again, bland, tasteless, and lacking in flavour. The chocolate truffle cake was not too bad. It could have been better, but it was not too bad. The highpoints of our dinner: The relish tray. $12 and it was the best thing served. Freshly prepared vegetables, a variety of dipping sauces, and everything fresh and delicious. I can't remember better carrots. The coffee. Piping hot, and refilled vigourously. I can't recommend Hobnob. Not at these prices, and certainly not at this level of quality (and lack thereof). I certainly don't plan to return.

Yelp
Filet Mignon best ever! Melted in my mouth. Side dishes great and Crème delicious menthe sundae enough for 6-8 people! Best meal out hands down! Expensive but off the lake so very memorable! Loved the music too! You'll adore this place!

Yelp
Oh Hobnob, you were a little disappointing. This was my second visit. The first time was wonderful. So much so I even purchased a logo wine glass to commemorate my visit. Three of us arrived at 730 for our 730 reservation. The host said is it for two or three people, implying that the reservation was originally for two which I know for a fact was wrong. We were told to go to the bar and wait. The bar was packed and loud. We waited a solid 10 minutes for the bartender to make our drinks we then went to the overflow room which was much quieter. Overall I would say we waited about 25 minutes for our table. The relish tray was very nice. The pate was tasty. The cheese spread was so congealed that lifting the knife from the dish brought the whole blob of cheese out of the dish. I had the chicken Oscar. I didn't realize the chicken would be breaded and fried. The crab had an odd tin taste to it. I don't think it was fresh. The asparagus was over cooked to the point of mushy. It was supposed to be topped with hollandaise sauce but as you can in the picture that wasn't present. I will definitely think twice before booking the Hobnob in the future.

Yelp
New management and not nearly as good as it was before. We had a reservation for a birthday dinner at 6:30 on a Saturday night. We arrived about 2 minutes late but were told our table still wasn't ready. They offered for us to go to the bar, but the area was pretty full for people dining and those already at the bar that it was tough for 5 people. Plus, it took a while before we got drinks. Thankfully, we were seated within about 5-10 min. When our server stopped by, she advised they were already out of prime rib. Okay, stuff happens. When asked about appetizers, we placed an order of the gorgonzola garlic bread. Our server came back after a while saying they were out of that as well. This is a favorite for the birthday boy and one of the reasons we came so second tough blow for the night. We got some bread but no butter and had to ask another server as ours disappeared for a while. We got our ice cold salads which were plain and meh. Balsamic was a dressing option, but really, it's just a bottle of balsamic vinegar. We were able to get a bottle of oil so we could make our own dressing, but it didn't do much to dress up the bland salad. The one thing we liked was the french onion crock. The entrees were just okay. For the prices you're paying, it doesn't seem worth it. The filet was one of the worst my husband had. Not cooked right, lacking flavor and low quality (lot of gristle for a filet). The salmon was okay but not worth the price, honestly. The baked potato on the side was pretty small compared to most supper clubs we've been to. The ambiance is great. They have live music in the bar some nights when we've gone and the place looks cool. But, that doesn't make up for lackluster food and mediocre service. I will actively avoid this place going forward.

Yelp
Tonight we had dinner at the hobnob! The hobnob is one of my favorite spots! New owners same great food mmmm and nothing beats their brandy Alexander. We started with old fashions, and French onion soup- with dinner rolls amy was very attentive. Then salad I had spinach my husband Caesar. For dinner my husband had filet and I had filet Oscar and wow every thing was cooked to perfection! I like my steak rare and they delivered! My husband loved his too at medium. I enjoy an espresso martini and we ended with a brandy alexander and we left with leftovers. The view of Lake Michigan on a clear night is breathtaking. Everything was perfect!

Yelp
I took my dad for his 82nd birthday to the Hobnob. After seeing several great reviews on several Facebook Wisconsin supper club groups, I was excited to try, but was sorely disappointed. First, we started with a relish tray, and the pickles were actually mushy, the pate was bland and very smoothly blended. The radishes had a sponginess to them. The soups, just a tad warmer than room temperature, and not particularly flavorful. The au gratin potatoes were a scoop of mashed potatoes in a small ramekin with some melted cheese on top, also bland. We both ordered New York strips, as we've had them several times over 30 years at many different types of steakhouses, and never had we received such a poor quality piece of meat. I am not sure that this would be considered a New York strip cut, as the shape the fat cap, texture, flavor all pointed to a very low quality sirloin. I've had better sirloins for steak and eggs at a diner greasy spoon joint. The salad, Caesar with an up charge that had a Caesar dressing clearly out of a bottle, and tossed with blue cheese, which had the texture of whipped butter and just a slight hint of blue cheese was also a $3.75 up charge. When I inquired about the up charge, the waitress who was very nice, said there is an up charge for all blue cheese items, which the quality does not represent the up charge, and honestly, I felt insulted at this point since I was served a steak being masqueraded as a New York strip which it clearly isn't. Or maybe it is but the quality is so low I've never had anything like it. I did not complain. I did not give the restaurant a chance to make it right because with everything being sub par, unless they wanted to comp the entire meal, I would just rather pay the bill, which was $200 for two people, including the tip and never go back. This was one of the worst meals I've had in 10 years, so I'm confused about the really positive reviews.

Yelp
One of our go to spots when visiting family in Chicago. Beautiful old school supper club on Lake Michigan. We always have drinks on the patio and take family pics with the lake in the background. Good steaks and accompaniments including the baked French onion soup. Service is always excellent!!

Karen S.

Yelp
Very sad to see one of our favorite supper clubs go downhill Especially so quickly after its new ownership. Treated husband to birthday dinner on a Sunday evening. Arrived early to enjoy gorgeous lake view and a couple drinks at bar. Gentleman was a little stressed, but pleasant and attentive to us. Two women at south end of bar seemed to be arguing and complaining for the entire time we sat at the bar. A woman, who was not our bartender, grabbed my fifty dollar bill off the bar and charged me for two Manhattans. She had no idea what we ordered... just assumed. We ordered a second round from the gentleman, who was doing his best to take care of everyone it seemed. When we were called to our table he charged me for four drinks. He said that the money I had remaining from my $50. on the bar was not enough for four drinks. I explained that the female bartender had already taken my money for the first round ( why? I wasn't sure because she never made eye contact with me the entire time we sat at the bar). We had to call her over to prove that she had indeed already charged me for our first round. Fortunately, she did admit that she had. He looked at her so befuddled that I felt the need to leave him a generous tip. Dinner table was fine, close to many other diners and waitstaff had to sashay around all tables very carefully. Our waitress was admittedly very busy. Dinner service was done accurately and in a timely manner.... best compliment I can offer for Michala (sp?). They were out of the first three entrees we ordered. Also out of spinach salad to start with. It was only 6PM, but it was Labor Day weekend so perhaps the previous nights had been extremely busy. We will definitely excuse them for running out.... of all four items. The entrees that we finally ordered were very good. Nicely prepared and presented. We've decided to try again next spring or summer, but will no longer consider it a special occasion destination and definitely not suggest meeting friends here. Please display your "up charges" to your customers. In the menu, by having the waitress inform us, or simply raise the prices even higher so as not to mislead the dining public. Unexpected/hidden charges is our biggest pet peeve when we go out to eat a nice meal.

Namratha R.

Yelp
I'm visiting from NY and a friend took me here for dinner to show me an old-world upscale restaurant. I was completely taken aback by the opulent decor, the attention to detail, there was something wonderful to discover in every nook and cranny. Every room has its own style. We were seated at a banquette in the bar area. Service was excellent. Food was good. Piped music was enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

Rebecca W.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. Everyone at work told me this was the best spot in Racine. Points for ambiance, scenery and service. The food was awful though. We got a steak ($117) that tasted like gas, scallops that were under done and the breading was soggy and my mother got the duck which was very dry. Her and I both got the scalloped potatoes that were near flavorless. I've heard the place changed owners and that's what's wrong. I wouldn't know bc it was my first time there. I will not be returning

jeni Klein

Yelp
First time visiting, and it was a huge disappointment! Ordered drinks that took over a half hour to get to our table! The relish tray came with soggy crackers, onion strings were very greasy and flavorless. Steaks were grizzly and over done. Service was terrible!

Dan K.

Yelp
I have been going to the Hobnob for over 30 years. It has always had high quality steaks until tonight. I knew I was in trouble when I saw aujus on the steaks. It went downhill from there. Gristle throughout the filet and New York strip and no flavor. I don't think they were even choice quality. What a same to such a previously high quality restaurant. Service and ambiance continue to be excellent.

Craig B.

Yelp
Had dinner here with another couple. A beautiful night for pre dinner cocktails outside overlooking Lake Michigan. We were seated within five minutes of our reservation. For dinner, the relish tray was great, soups and salads were great and side dishes were great. For the entrees, one person had the whitefish and raved about it. Another had the crab cakes and liked them. Another had the Wiener Schnitzel which was good. I had the NY strip which was cooked perfectly (med) but had little taste and was very gristly. The steak was really bad for the price. The service was VERY good, particularly Alexandria who was our main server.

Julie D.

Yelp
We absolutely loved Hob Nob!! From the moment we walked in, it was as if we were taken back to a different part in time. This restaurant is beautiful!! The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, incredible drinks, and the view is spectacular!! We will definitely be going back!!!

Zach K.

Yelp
Not what I remember service or quality being in years past. Steak tasted very bland and the service seems to have slipped. Ambiance is one of the few reasons to dine here at this point. Planning to give it another chance and see if it was just a bad night for newer ownership.

Gary D.

Yelp
We're not to hard to please. The atmosphere was good. Service good. Food however! Left alot to be desired. My wife got the filet mignon. Absolutely no presentation! Just a steak on a plate. When I mentioned that our server she said it's because the onion straws were left off the top. I don't think that was going to make or break the steak Applebee's could have done this easily I got the stuffed pork chop, stuffing was good chop was dry, and again no presentation! luckily I had a gift card for a hundred bucks so I was only out about 50! and we won't be going Back. The worst thing is the wait staff kept kicking my chair to get to table behind me. it wasn't that busy why they have to sit us next to a table of like nine.

C N.

Yelp
I gave HobNob 2 stars only because the view is spectacular! Bartenders do not great customers, inattentive to details and do not offer menus or recommendations. Server during dinner also inattentive, never checked in during the course of the meal to see if our food was satisfactory. Soup was cold, au gratin potatoes no flavor, steaks ok but not the quality you'd expect for the price. When a member of the party questioned an incorrect drink, which was ordered earlier in the evening, the waitress argued with the customer. We really wanted to try an after dinner drink at the bar. We sat at the nearly empty bar for 10 minutes and no one served us, we left. As we were walking out a bartender chased us down and accused us of ditching our bar bill! Not worth the money!

Bob D.

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving hobnob two stars is because of the view. The four of us ordered different meals, and all four of us were disappointed. A steak order was undercooked. The potatoes are gratin was basically chopped potato with cheese thrown on top. The Wienerschnitzel lacked flavor and the breading was like Concrete. We were very disappointed as we had been waiting for a long time to go there. Apparently ownership has changed in the last couple of years and the food quality has dropped off significantly.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Great location. Nice atmosphere. Terrible food and service Had mussels. They were tiny, but well cooked. The sauce was tasty. I had the ribeye steak. Absolutely terrible. Definitely NOT a prime cut. Steak was maybe 1/2" thick, overdone (requested medium rare), and very fatty. Took so long to get the thing I didn't bother to send it back. WAY OVERPRICED. You could get a better steak at the Golden Corral. The drinks were good but also overpriced. There a many MUCH MUCH better supper clubs in the area. Too bad, the location is excellent and the lake views are stunning.

Anna G.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. First time. Service excellent. Hostess over and beyond. Food gets an okay. Will come back for sure

Linda R.

Yelp
Great place!! Bartender friendly, great seating wonderful atmosphere and great food and service

Robert K.

Yelp
Upon arrival, the greeting by the hostess was cold and borderline rude or hostile. Table was not ready so I asked if I could sit at the bar, "no, not on weekends, but you can see if you can find a seat". The bar had plenty of open seats, twelve or more. I waited for five minutes for the uninterested bar tender to take my drink order, picking up used bar napkins was more important than waiting on a customer. After ten minutes a waiter arrived and informed me my table was ready. I couldn't get the bartender's attention to pay my bar tab so I asked if they could add it to my dinner tab, " no, not any more". Another ten minutes to pay my bar tab. With all this aggregation, I decided to skip dinner. Suggest you do as well!

Jess T.

Yelp
Lost reservations, sat for over an hour, so they were out of prime rib. Waitress was very hard to get ahold of. The food was delivered around 9:30. It was all cold. They were cleaning up all the tables and light was turned up while we were still eating. I was very excited to try this place, I was so disappointed. Brought up with management who didn't offer an I'm sorry

Anne H.

Yelp
Great restaurant with romantic atmosphere! It looks like Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra will walk near your table and start singing! Great food, wonderful view of Lake Michigan...great menu!!!!

Pam N.

Yelp
We met our siblings for dinner at Hob Nob, some of us traveling an 1-1/2hr. last night. We were sorely disappointed and will never go back. My husband is a retired Chef in the private club industry his whole life in the North Shore of Chicago and was so excited to find a Wisconsin supper club that served Prime Rib. My husband ordered a dirty martini with bleu cheese olives. The martini was not a dirty martini, and when we got the bill they charged us $.25 each for the olives, and the waitress didn't mention that it would be an additional charge for olives. Don't martinis come with a garnish? In our whole life, we have never paid extra for olives in a martini. The garden salad that several of us ordered, my husband wanted bleu cheese dressing. A very small plastic container was served on top of the salad with some crumbled bleu cheese on top of sour cream, maybe a tablespoon. This is not bleu cheese dressing. And we found out again when we got our bill it was $3.75 additional (which we were never told was an upcharge). What a joke. My husband ordered the double cut Prime Rib and was looking forward to enjoying this meal. Turns out the waitress comes out and explains that the kitchen staff didn't have enough Prime Rib for the double cut and a single cut for our brother-in-law, who also loves Prime Rib. We decided to go ahead and split the double cut and this was only 6:30 p.m. on their "special Prime Rib Friday night". Who runs out of Prime Rib this early? Poor planning. When the Prime Rib was served it was embarrassing and my husband didn't even know where to look. Even my siblings didn't know what to say. At best the 13 oz. single cut was maybe 7-8 oz. for $52. It was lukewarm and had absolutely no taste served with a black plastic cup filled with creamy horseradish sauce which tasted like sweet ranch dressing. Not the same. Not even au jus. A very very poor excuse for Prime Rib with a price tag of $52. The Au Gratin cheese potatoes were a scoop of mashed potatoes with cheddar cheese on top. This is not Au Gratin potatoes. The dinner rolls and Clam Chowder soup was very good. My wife's Walleye Pike was overcooked and dry. It tasted old. The ice cream drinks were ice cream with a drizzle of brandy and nutmeg on top only. They don't mix the alcohol into the ice cream and we ordered 3 different ones. This is not the correct way to make a supper club ice cream drink. The view of Lake Michigan gets the star. My husband said as we were leaving the restaurant, take a couple of good pictures because we will never be returning. If, however, you want to drive the 1-1/2 hrs for their Claim Chowder Soup and dinner rolls, have add it.

Robert H.

Yelp
I've been to the hobnob twice in the last six months. Both times I ordered the petite fillet cooked medium. Both times the steak came out as medium rare to rare. Both times I sent the steak back and unfortunately, by the time I received the steak all the other members of my group had finish eating. This is unacceptable

Karen K.

Yelp
If you are known for your ice cream drinks, perhaps you should not be aggressively angry about people ordering them. Bar service was the incredibly terrible. After 20 minutes without service, we left. The loud negative server commentary was enough.

Ashley A.

Yelp
Fantastic food, drinks, and the service is always amazing. They have outside seating that overlooks the lake as well. This is one of my favorite places to come when I visit our friends and family in Wisconsin.

Steve S.

Yelp
Trying to be polite about last night's "dining experience"... (I NEVER give any place a bad review - just won't visit there, again). What happened Saturday night was pretty egregious - and entirely avoidable. (Have decided to remove the details, because - well, I hate to say anything bad about a longtime local business. I have certainly saved all the details, and can share with whomever may request.) When we were able to actually dine after arriving home later with our order packaged as carryouts, the food was - to the chef's credit - good.

Juana S.

Yelp
Restaurant allows orders to be placed through starting at 5:30 pm UberEats yet these orders are not honored. Unfortunately one only finds out when the UberEats driver is told that when they arrive to pick up the order. I had order a Birthday dinner to be taken to my friend who could not go out. I ordered from out of state. Disassociate from UberEats. State that you only allow pick up orders. Otherwise this is false advertising.

Yelp
We decided to make our first visit to Hob Nob. Location, Food, Service... all were very good. Our Server did a spectacular job pacing the meal. Yes, we spent 2 hours... but the time flew by. We had a great view of Lake Michigan. The food was all hot and well prepared. The baked French Onion soup was as good as could be. Crab au gratin mushrooms, calamari... Both excellent. For dinner, had the duck. Brown crispy skin, tender flavorful meat... great choice. My wife enjoyed the scallops and were very good also. Hob Nob is quirky on the inside, and a Supper Club worth visiting. I have no hesitation making a return visit. Make reservations and enjoy! A great member on the Supper Club circuit.

Yelp
Food is expensive but every bite was worth it. Get the twice baked potato. Yum. Our server was incredible and she was taking care of a party of 30 in the next room and our room that had 10 tables. We never had to wait, she was right on stop of our every need. Do not expect a quick meal, this is fine dining. My only wish was for a table near the back so we would have had a view of Lake Michigan. Maybe next time and we what ever you do, make a reservation. There is no just dropping in and getting a seat on the weekend. Great place for an anniversary, clothing is khakis for men, summer dresses for women. Enjoy!

Yelp
Met family at this place last week. A supper club most highly regarded by family and friends - I grew up in the area. The staff was wonderful, as was the supper club vibe. When I cut into my fillet and found fat and gristle in each mouthful, I decided I will not return. Buyer beware.

Yelp
This review is for dinner in the main dining room in mid-July. This is the quintessential Wisconsin Supper Club experience. The ambience is '60s or '70s country club, and I mean that in the best way - it's a super cool vibe. Service: Nick was great. Helpful and knowledgeable, which you need in a place as unique as this. Bar: My Knob Creek Rye Manhattan was good at $14. My wife's Grey Goose Cosmo was a faithful rendition at $15. Our son had the local favorite, a brandy Old Fashioned, at $10. While I've never had this Wisconsin classic, it's certainly popular. Did not notice any tap beer. food: My salmon was a huge portion, but at $36 you might expect that. My son's Wiener Schnitzel was also huge, again at $38. My wife's stuffed pork chop was also massive, at $28. details: Plenty of surface parking right outside. You definitely need reservations. Despite the nice weather and stunning view, there is no seating on the outside patio overlooking Lake Michigan.

Yelp
We made our reservation for Friday evening about a week in advance. They were able to promptly seat us at the booth in the main dining room. The atmosphere, service, food and live music were outstanding! Very relaxing and memoriable evening! I'd live to come back here again!

Yelp
This 2 star rating is based entirely on the food- which was lacking flavor and was not well prepared. All four of us ordered steaks- I got an 8oz filet that was dry and had only char taste nothing else. I was only able to eat half and then gave up. The potato au gratin was better than expected. The rest of our party had very similar feedback on their steaks as well. Now- the brandy ice, grasshopper etc was all amazing and the perfect fit for ambiance. I have heard there was a recent management change. I hope they take this opportunity to focus on the food quality. The location and old school vibe is a gem. But if your main entree's are lacking you won't draw the crowds. Focus on flavor, updating your menus to be more current, ensure the food quality meets the prices. The servers deserve to be delivering quality because they are busting their tails. I hope to hear that the food quality is amazing over the next year and we want to come back and try again. But in this moment it is a solid no for me.

Yelp
Went to HobNob for the first time this summer season with trepidation because of the new ownership and some questionable reviews online. There were seven of us and we ordered everything from French Onion Soup to Mushrooms all around to Fish to Chicken to Steaks. Our waitress was a five year veteran, Leslie is still very much in charge and seven happy diners left smiling contentedly. Nothing has changed IMHO. It's still a great two hour plus meal and a chance to show off to out of town friends. If I had to throw in a negative, my chicken vegetable soup could have been 10 degrees warmer, but it worked fine for me and was gone before I even thought about it.

Yelp
I am so sad because I think the era of when Hob Nob was something special has passed. The view of the lake is beautiful so is the main room. But, I went for a nice steak dinner with my family and was very disappointed with the quality of the food. My NY Strip Steak was not very good. I had to throw out three mouth fulls because of the toughness and gristle. Service was slow, we had to remind the serve of orders we placed. The price does not reflect the quality. Beer was warm when served. A previous post stated that management has changed maybe that is the issue. If you go, I recommend sitting at the bar and enjoy the lake view, but go somewhere else for dinner. I am sad I won't be returning had some great times at Hob Nob.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick dessert on our anniversary and as usual, they always delivered a quality product.

Yelp
The ambiance, decor, service, drinks, and food are always top notch at the Hobnob! Such a perfectly classic supper club experience, you almost forget what year it is as you're transported to the Rat Pack era for a few hours. We even went for Thanksgiving dinner and may just make that an annual tradition it was so wonderful!

Yelp
I had the opportunity to come here for Mother's Day with my parents. The place looks like a 1950s mansion on the lake. It had some pretty views of Lake Michigan. Inside is very elegant and they have private rooms for parties. To drink; I had the pineapple mimosa. Wasn't very strong. Then I got a French martini, which was delicious. For appetizer, I had a cup of the minestrone soup. For entree, I had the lamb shank that was huge. It was a giant bone on the plate, but it had a really lovely sauce drizzled on ot and the meat just fell off the bone perfectly. It came with boiled potatoes. Dessert: the grasshopper ice cream sundae that had booze in it. Overall, the meal was fabulous. You should definitely come here for a special occasion.

Yelp
I had high hopes for our New Year's Eve dinner at the HobNob, unfortunately, it was not the greatest. The atmosphere seemed really nice and service was good (meaning our server). That being said, our main dishes were subpar The good parts: I had a kettle martini, dirty with olives, and my husband had a couple of old-fashioned sours with whiskey. They were tasty drinks. We got the calamari appetizer, and that was fried to perfection and very light with good flavor. The aïoli went well with it. And we had the French onion soup, but they upcharged you for the small crock with the cheese and so we did not order those. The French onion soup with the sprinkle of cheese was OK. They also up charge on New Year's Eve for a vegetable to come with your meal, which I found interesting for supper club where everything is supposed to come with the meal. Seven extra dollars for asparagus? Really? I wouldn't complain if it was all à la carte and prime meat, but it was not. The fresh bread was good and salads were fine. I ordered the fillet Oscar. I was seriously disappointed. It's supposed to be one fillet of 6 ounces topped with hollandaise sauce and crab and asparagus. I got three tiny medallions, topped with a little bit of fishy crab (yuck) and bland hollandaise sauce. Because they were tiny medallions they were overcooked. There was no seasoning on them. The presentation was poor. My daughter had the prime rib, and she said it was OK. It was tough for her to cut through even though it was rare. She's not used to that and it was tougher to chew. My husband had veal, and he said that was good, but nothing to cry home about. One other complaint was that we went on the website multiple times before heading down, and they never said anything about a trimmed down menu. They downsized it, so the dish my husband originally wanted to get, the lamb, was not a part of the menu. We were not able to order an ice cream drink which is supposed to be one of their specials. These are things that they should note on the website for NYE, before letting people make reservations with a packed house and a downsized menu. There were quite a few items missing from it. We were bummed. It definitely was not the worst experience that I have had, as the service, drinks ans apps were goof and I'd be willing to try them again. BUT, for a New Year's Eve dinner that was over 300 bucks. I would have to say that I'm disappointed. I have had better at steak houses and was just at a pop-up supper club in Milwaukee It was fantastic compared to this. Hopefully they will see this review and make note of changes. My picture shows the poor presentation. As this is a drive for us I'm not sure when we'll be back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food and location. Prime Rib was delicious, so we're all the sides. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Hobnob has been around for ages and we have eaten here several times. Each time we eat here, the food and service has been subpar. Not exceptional based on expectations of going to a traditional supper club. In my own personal opinion, Hobnob is outdated and overpriced based on what you actually get. Cuts of meat are not prime but will be paying prime prices. While while keep coming back hoping it was just an "off" night...every night we go back it seems to be an "off" night. A few other notes if anyone from this restaurant really reads these: Red wine should no be stored in a cellar that is the same temp as an actual fridge or even colder. Our overpriced red wine was so cold the exterior of the bottle was sweating once it came out to the table. Wine list is outdated and ridiculously over priced. We understand wine at restaurants will be expensive but this place is overkill. Cuts of meat should be prime if you are going to be charging the cost for them. The NY strip my husband had ended up becoming very expensive dog food. While service was okay, clearly they are understaffed (not our waitresses fault). Kitchen is clearly disorganized and/or understaffed too. More than 4 apps and one other menu item were sold out and our food took FOREVER to be served. This is unfortunate because we planned on ordering apps but could not. As a restaurant, you should know this has a domino effect on both the staff and business (less money made). We visit many different supper clubs around WI since we have places near a variety of clubs and unfortunatly HobNob is at the end of our list. We keep trying to love this place as the location is amazing but become quickly disappointed every single time.

Yelp
Great ambiance and food on our last visit in May 2024. We were here years ago and it wasn't this good. Congrats to the new owners who have kept the supper club vibe with great quality food and service.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try The Hob Nob for awhile now. I was really looking forward to it. While the food was very good the service was awful. For the price you pay and the experience you're looking forward to what a letdown! BTW it wasn't that busy. It took several minutes for our drink order to be taken and many more before we got them. After another long wait to place our order and several more minutes the rolls, appetizer and soup arrived all at once! Ugh! After ordering my steak medium rare it arrived rare and it was a good long while before the server came back to check on us. She took the steak and naturally it came back overcooked. So disappointed!!

Yelp
Love.love.love this old school supper club! Nestled on a hill by Lake Michigan. So glad they haven't changed a thing here! Excellent staff. Amazing food ( except that sad small baked potato that I ordered as an entree). My friends enjoyed crisp calamari and delightful whitefish that they said was very fresh. My blueprint oysters were okay. The piano player was great! Full house on a Saturday night with lots of private rooms where many celebrations were happening! Several birthdays, an anniversary party and lots of happy people and smiles!!

Yelp
The food was the worst meal I have had in years and never at Hob Nob before. They had half of the restaurant blocked off because they were cleaning the rugs! The food was tasteless and my Weiner Schitzel was so dry and no gravy was served. I have lived in the area for 24 years and have taken friends there often. I was totally embarrassed to be hosting them that night. The brandy old fashioned was the only good thing that night.
