President Donald Trump’s Trade War Has Already Blasted California Wineries | Eater SF

"Northern California winemakers are already feeling the fallout from recent tariff-driven tensions between the U.S. and Canada: Ontario and Quebec have not yet rescinded a decision to quit stocking alcohol from the United States, a move set to enter effect on Tuesday, February 4. For Santa Rosa winemaker Kenny Likitprakong, owner, that amounts to 10 percent of annual production. "We have hundreds of cases of wine in our warehouse already labeled for Canada that aren’t going to be picked up," Likitprakong told the paper." - Paolo Bicchieri

We had an absolutely wonderful time doing a tasting at Hobo Wine Co. Lynn was knowledgeable, personable, and a pleasure to chat with. We feel so lucky to have had the chance to watch the winemaking process and try a very freshly made wine thanks to Kenny. The experience at Hobo is like no other in CA wine country; I can’t recommend a tasting enough if you get the opportunity. Not to mention, the wine is delicious!

We’ve been buying Hobo Wines for years, but experiencing the tasting in person was incredible! Thanks to Kenny, Conor and team/families. It’s been great to learn about your intentional practices and delicious wines. Highly recommend paying them a visit!

Hobo wines are a family favorite. All of their wines are made with mad skills and lots of love and you can truly taste it in what they do. They have numerous whites and reds to choose from, something for everyone. This is a family run operation that puts everything into their wines so we can all share them with our families and friends to celebrate and relax. They do arrange tastings but you should call and plan ahead to make sure they can accommodate you and your friends. Cheers to the whole Hobo crew!

Yelp
Make the extra effort and visit - call first. I have nothing but respect for the winemaking style ... very true to the grape and soil. Don't expect an "over extracted", high alcohol "fruit bomb". This stuff is the real deal. Did I mention.... At a great price. Very reasonable shipping policy too (I live in Michigan).

Yelp
We made an appointment to taste the wines at Hobo Wine Company. When we arrived, Ido and Conor greeted us by name. This was our first visit, and we were already impressed. The tasting area is in the facility, which is housed in an industrial building in Roseland. The facility was immaculate, cozy, and comfortable. Ido took us to a corner of the facility where they had a couch, three comfortable chairs, and a coffee table. Behind us was a Marantz Stereo Receiver, bookcased by vinyl albums. There was also a kitchen area near where we sat to taste. Ido could not have been more personable. She was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines we tasted, and shared a lot of information about Hobo Wine Company that impressed us. They are committed to the environment through several means, and they are also committed to being socially active in the community. The company has five employees, and seems to be an example of what small local businesses should be all about. Their wines impressed us, and we walked out with enough to last us a while. We will definitely return! Thank you Ido and Conor!!
