Hoeks Death Metal Pizza Is Closing on Sunday, June 24 - Eater Austin
"Hoeks Death Metal Pizza, the longtime Sixth Street pizzeria known for slices and metal music, is closing. Its last day will be on Sunday, June 24." - Nadia Chaudhury
Service was very fast and staff was very nice, but they DID NOT PLAY DEATH METAL or metal of any kind. In fact, the music playing wasn't even rock. Pizza was fine and well-priced, but the experience was not what I had expected or hoped for at all.

Who doesn't like a little Cannibal Corpse with their pizza? And some scifi on the TV behind the counter as well? Fun area, not bad pizza, but if you're like me ask them to make it crispy!

While this place is entirely overrated, they do make pretty decent pizza. Not the best but pretty solid. Also pretty cool that a ton of bands I listen to have visited and posted stuff on the wall.

This is my go to pizza place after a night on 6th. The ambiance really takes me back to my days in high school and the pizza is so good. I can just sit out on the side walk with my slice of pepperoni pizza listening to the music blasting. I take all my friends there if after we go out.

Decent pizza at a fair price for being on 6th Street. Whatever you do, DON'T go to Paparazzi Pizza. Even if the line is too long at Hoeks it's worth the wait.

Very uncomplicated small pizza booth (no seating) that accompanies the large fresh pizzas with a metal soundtrack and esoteric videos on the large screen inside.
Great for dropping by or setting up an evening on 6th Street.

Delicious, thin, hot, and freshly cooked pizza! A whole pizza is $30, but it is the size of a tire - its massive. Worth it.
