"How did it strike you on arrival? With a large inviting porch, the two-story main house sits in a residential neighborhood. Several nearby cottages are also part of the hotel. What’s the crowd like?Couples of all ages, plus groups of women weekending in Fredericksburg. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.I stayed in the Ivy, a bright white room with a queen bed and private porch with rocking chairs. With a vaulted ceiling and natural light, the room feels airy and spacious. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention? No mini bar, but the room has a kitchenette with a coffee maker and mini fridge with bottled water. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.In a nod to Hill Country, the bath products are lavender. The bathroom has a step-in shower. Room service: Worth it?Breakfast is included in the rate and left at your door at 9 each morning. Presented in a picnic basket, it is delicious and fresh. The menu changes daily—quiche (still hot when delivered), fresh breads, eggs florentine, sausage, and fruit. A limited room service menu includes a cheese plate ($15), charcuterie plate ($15), and tea service ($8). Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Anything else you'll remember or that you loved? In the main house, there are often fresh baked chocolate cookies to grab on your way in or out. There's also a lending library with books and DVDs. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Upscale bed and breakfast that's a short walk to Main Street but far enough away to offer seclusion." - Allison Bagley

We booked a 1 hour couple’s massage by Gabby and her associate. My husband and I had different requests of what areas to focus on and the firmness of pressure. We were both very happy with what we got. They used hot stones as part of the massage, which was surprisingly wonderful! The room was a little chilly but they used warmed blankets to counter that. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The location was charming and convenient. Our experience was excellent!

Great b&b!! The breakfast was delicious. The rooms/cabins were awesome! The bathroom was huge and bed was very comfy. TVs all worked and Internet service was decent for the area! Definitely will have to return with some buddies next time, a place that would be really nice with some friends or family. Great for an event.

My wife and I were here over the Memorial Day weekend. It’s a very nice, clean, and quiet Bed & Breakfast. The staff is really friendly, and a hot breakfast is dropped by your room in a picnic basket each morning at 9 am. Highly recommended!

If I ever go back to Fredericksburg, I would definitely stay at the Hoffman Haus again. We booked the Ivy room. All practicalities were sent over up front. The room was super! Although it was more than just a room since we even had a small kitchen and a very nice sitting area outside in the back. Which was very pleasant since we could sit outside even when it was raining. The hotel is only a few minutes (walking) away from the main street where you have lots of nice shops, restaurants etc. In the hotel though, it feels like your miles away from the center because it's really nice and quiet. Try it! you won't regret it!

Shonda was more than accommodating to us for our wedding reception. For our special day, we rented out the Basse House and the four rooms above the Great Hall. Shonda sent us a unique link that we sent to our guests to book their onsite lodging. The pricing for everything was reasonable. Basse House is quiet, quaint, and spacious. It was large enough for myself, my mom, and my three bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done. My only feedback would be to add brighter lighting in the house. The Great Hall is such a beautiful venue. It has minimalist decor but doesn't need much. Shonda and her husband Chad were helpful when we were setting up our backdrop, and they did a great job overseeing the bar during our event. I must also give kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for the delicious fajita buffet and brunch spread. Hoffman Haus is the perfect venue for a wedding, birthday, dinner, or any special event. Shonda was absolutely amazing to work with!

My wife and I stayed in the Bluebonnet room for two nights. * Grounds are beautiful and well kept * TV and Wi-Fi was excellent * Breakfast arrived at 9 AM and was good * Caliche “tea bag style” coffee w Hot water kettle worked well * Bed was comfortable but carpet was old * Bathroom was just OK * Bathroom floor was made of large rocks surrounded by cement which must be very hard to clean. * Bathtub was hard to get into and slippery. Wife put down a towel to make sure she did not fall.

4 of us rented the Basse house for a 3 day Fredericksburg getaway and it was perfect. The house itself had 2 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms separated by a cute breezeway. There is a full kitchen as well. Every morning they deliver picnic baskets to your room full with the best breakfast ever.

Wonderful little houses, great for a nice cozy stay. The breakfast delivered to the door was a nice touch and incredibly delicious. The library has plenty of books and games

Yelp
If you're thinking about booking a stay at HH - just do it! Absolutely beautiful property, wonderful service and attention to detail, and minutes from downtown. We called last minute and they were above and beyond with accommodating us in Ada's Cottage. We are considering this as a wedding venue, as well. We loved our stay.

Yelp
This is the 3rd time we've stayed here. We wanted a getaway for our 25th anniversary and like always we had such a lovely time. We were in a stand alone cottage. So adorable bed was comfortable and the huge bathroom had both a standup shower and claw tub. Breakfast delivered every morning. Had a delicious spinach egg frittata one day, and amazing French toast the next. Room comes with a fridge, coffee maker water, dishes and a little microwave. Place was within walking distance of the Main Street convenient to shopping and eating.. will for sure stay here again and OH yeah couples massage at the spa !! They're the best!!!

Yelp
If you love bed and breakfast German style in Fredericksburg Texas, this is a heavenly spot. Walking distances to restaurants, bars and cafe.

Yelp
We had an absolutely amazing overnight stay at Hoffmann Haus in Fredericksburg! The Cottonwood room (#18) was quaint, comfortable, clean, and nicely appointed. Bed was super comfortable. One of the best things about our stay was the chef-prepared breakfast brought to our door this morning in a picnic basket! I suppose if I had one suggestion, the TV remotes did not allow us to use the channel guide to select channels: we had to advance one channel at a time. BUT, we don't really go to such very quaint and classy places to watch TV! Mark S.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay here on a Monday through Wednesday. We stayed in the Linden, which is a stand-alone cottage. There were three rooms - a living room with a TV, kitchenette, two armchairs, a couch, and a small table with two chairs; a large bedroom with king-size bed, TV, two nightstands, and closet with two suitcase racks (the ones where you can set your suitcase on there so you don't have to bend over); and a very large bathroom with shower and bathtub. There was also a shaded sitting area with two rocking chairs and a table where we ate our breakfast one morning. I loved all the space we had in Linden, especially the fact that there were two sinks with ample counter space in the bathroom, as well as two suitcase racks. The bedroom was large enough that it actually had two separate doors. Not your normal double doors but separate doors on opposite ends of the wall that was shared with the living. room. I amused myself by "apologizing" to my husband whenever I used "his" door (the door that was on the same side of the room as his side of the bed) to enter the bedroom. The lavender shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion all smelled amazing. One thing I didn't love furniture-wise was the chairs at the table were metal, so they made a ton of noise when moving them. I was afraid that I would wake up my husband if I sat at the table in the morning before he got up. There were a couple of delicious toffee candies and robes to use during our visit laid out for us when we entered the bedroom - loved the presentation and those little extras. Our breakfasts were also delicious and still piping hot when we got them at 9am - there was something savory, something sweet, and fruit for both days we had breakfast there. I would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!

Yelp
Mini-moon with my wonderful new husband was absolutely fantastic. This lovely B&B hits all the marks, charm, peace and quiet, yummy breakfast. Such a fun and relaxing way to unwind after our wedding!! Definitely making this our place to stay when we visit Fredericksburg!

Yelp
Still a great location and a quaint cottage is the way to go. On this occasion we couldn't hang at our usual spot, the Weber House so our first two nights were in the Alamo. The remaining night we we able to go to the mother ship. Getting to the Alamo meant a fairly steep climb up 20 or so steps, bear that in mind. The room itself was large, with a bathtub and shower, two bathrooms curiously. Bear in mind that all the rooms or cottages we have stayed in the past are simply constructed, unfinished wood planks and distressed wood finishes. I will admit, the couch was well worn and infamous problematic TV on how to operate it was still there. I often wonder why they never provide a guide of some sort. There is a Gideon Bible tho. Pretty solid guide in some circles. If it seems silly to mention the amenities, bare in mind, some of us like to just chill rather than walk the street's and wineries. Also, it is mandatory for a day of recovery when enjoying said wineries... ahem. Weber House is lovely, could definitely use a new couch, it's a sleeper sofa and I can understand that perhaps they have been ordered and are still awaiting arrive. I'm still waiting on a bed we ordered many months ago. My only wish here is that the would replace the commode seat. I had mentioned this in my first review. Can catch you unawares, so having a seat is definitely a recommend for dudes. Staff are always wonderful and we enjoy a frequent return discount and they also knocked off a couple of bucks for the construction which was pounding at 8.30ish the morning of the 8th.

Yelp
Had some mixed feelings about this place. I think I would stay again but, would definitely make sure to pick one of the stand-alone cabins. We stayed in one attached to the great hall, which was fine since it was a week night. I imagine during the weekend it might get kind of loud. We checked in super late and didn't realize that the last 4 digits of your phone number are the key to your door. It wasn't stated in the email (if it was, I guess we missed it but, neither my boyfriend or I saw it). We struggled to get in but, once we called they immediately answered and assisted us in accessing our room. The room was cute and had a modern rustic feel too it. They give you tea and water bottles and provide a small refrigerator and dishes. The soap was also very high quality and smelt great. The breakfast is delivered promptly at 9:00 am. It will wake you up as they knock on the door 2-3 times to let you know it's there. If you like to sleep in, be aware of this. The breakfast itself was decent quality and as expected. It would be nice to have a little bit of sauce options (ketchup, hot sauce, etc.) but, it's just nice they deliver it to your room and is a cute feature of the B&B. The drawbacks were if you get a room by the great hall it only comes with a stand up shower! So if you want that claw foot tub make sure to book a suite/stand alone cabin. The shower in our room had a drainage issue and turned into a mini bath for our feet, which was gross and a big turnoff. Additionally, we were greeted to our room by a dead squirrel. It was just laying there across from the door to our room. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I have a sense of humor and realized it was probably one of the many cats on the property that left us this little gift. We did check in very late at night and the white cat was out causing trouble. Obviously, it's not the fault of Hoffman Haus but, was still kind of a gruesome welcome. On the plus side, the black and white cat was friendly and let us pet him. With that being said, giving 4 stars. I would try a different room upon returning and go based off both experiences.

Yelp
The BEST bed and breakfast. Everything was above and beyond. Great area, close to all the shops, amazing staff. Could not recommend this place more!

Yelp
We had a delightful stay in the Alamo Room at Hoffman Haus this week. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and promptly served in a picnic basket to our door at 9 AM each morning. We look forward to staying here again!

Dennis S.

Yelp
We have been here three years in a row during December. We brought friend who are new to Texas. I have to say our other visits we better and were pre-pandemic. Our biggest issue was no room cleaning. It just was not the same as our other visits. I know it is difficult to keep hospitality business NORMAL during the pandemic. Hopefully this place will be back to its previous standards soon!

Yelp
Hoffman Haus is truly the only real good game in town for rooms that are both equal comfort (hey now feather pillows!) and well appointed (hey now, nothing that feels tasteless or, like, faux country chic.) Breakfast is served daily to your door in a picnic basket at 9AM. And it's great. Super simple but really delicious and better than any stateside continental breakfast I've had in a long time. The scone even tasted like a real life Bri'ish version. The check-in is super simple once you get the hang of it. Check your email for the code to your room. Locate your room via the map they send to you/ or the map they post in the great hall. All and all, it's the best and most comfortable hotel in Fredericksburg. It's also minimally invasive, i.e., you will not have rando people talking to you all of the time. You're on your own. And I like it that way. Lastly, it's a really short jaunt to town if you want to get those steps in.

Kate B.

Yelp
Loved it. Great part of town for walking to everything but still quiet. Adorable hotel cat and a delivered breakfast. What's not to love? They had water in the mini fridge and our room has two balconies for sharing a glass of wine (H‑E‑B is just around the corner or bring your own. They have a wine opener). Only complaint is that the room needs USB plugs. Maybe one of those alarm clocks with a USB plug or something else. We'll be back!

Lori B.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED our stay!! We were upgraded to a suite and breakfast was amazing!! Sitting on the porch listening to the fountain was perfect! Bed was comfortable and cozy! There were just enough dishes for us to use and coffee, with creamer went perfect with our delicious breakfast. It was so quiet and relaxing. Even the toiletries were awesome!! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I decided to visit Fredericksburg one weekend and found, through internet research, that this B&B was one of the very best. I arrived after their scheduled check-in time but called a week prior to give them notice and was given alternate procedures for check-in which was great. Upon arrival to the room (Texas Bunkhouse), which was cozy and the largest room for my particular price point, I would describe it as upscale rustic. It seemed to have a majority of the basic amenities you would find in a hotel room. It had a mixture of modern and antique furnishings and of course polished concrete floors. This is in a newish building, so you have the rustic atmosphere without the rustic smell. For an upscale B&B, I thought the room should of had the following items: - Laundry bag - Slippers (for walking on cold flooring on cold winter nights). - Soaking tub (only had a stand up shower) - Better shower head with more than just a single setting (and better water pressure) - Consistent, faster internet One thing I wasn't really fond of were the flies. Maybe there are a lot in the hill country or this particular town, not sure. There were at least 3 in the room when first arriving and I managed to kill two of them before leaving, but they are annoying and landed on everything. BREAKFAST Saturday morning breakfast was brought to the door shortly before 9am as promised. I didn't think this particular breakfast was all that. It was simple to say the least, compared to the website which seems to portray a more gourmet experience using local ingredients when possible. There is nothing special about scrambled eggs lightly seasoned with pepper, sausage links that tasted just like frozen jimmy dean from the grocery store, an apple struedel in a bowl, a slice of orange and a strawberry. Sunday morning was a little better but still keeping it simple. They gave you a lot of patty sausage, a fruit cup, egg casserole, and a homemade blueberry muffin. I liked the layout and size of my particular room, but Id be open to try other rooms if I ever returned. I tried to pick out some movies from their library in the great room but found most all movies are older (2008 and earlier). This is 2018, they could use a little updating of their collection for sure, to cater to the younger crowd.

Yelp
Wife and I planned a last second babymoon. We were thrilled to find they had a cabin available. The room was clean and adorable! The soaps were awesome! And the breakfast provided the next day was absolutely delicious. Some of the best French toast I've had. We would definitely stay here again.

Lauren F.

Yelp
Thank you for making my sister's wedding so special and creating such a lovely experience for our guests. We had the best time and adored all your special touches! See you again soon!

Debbie V.

Yelp
Just got back from a Women's retreat here. It was super wonderful. Loved the feel of the place. We stayed upstairs in the main house but there were many cottages too. I really liked our suite-the Alamo Suite-because we had a nice bedroom and bath plus a front room with a couch and another half bath. It was nice because we had some privacy and each got our own bathroom (shared the master suite shower). The king bed was super comfortable! More comfortable than my new mattress at home. We had a coffee bar/frig etc between the two rooms. I loved their coffee in the morning. So yummy and strong. This bed and breakfast is so beautiful and was totally conducive to our event. I loved the main building where we had our meetings. The stage was really pretty and the room was perfectly tailored for our event. Their food was really good! The best breakfasts ever! And all the other meals were really good too. My sister stayed here a few years ago for a wedding and loved it too. I would definitely come back!

Itzel B.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to stay at. We had a one day stay over. Room was clean and cozy. Great customer service. The breakfast basket was such a treat and delivered at 9am like clockwork. Hope to come back and stay In their Victorian 2 floor house on the property. Despite covid restrictions this place would be a real gem for a celebration of any sort!

Sheryl F.

Yelp
We had reservations for two nights. Overpriced for what you get. Amenities of the past no longer exist. No freshly baked cookies to greet us, as shown in their ads, because of contactless check-in. Library and common area not properly set up to be accommodating. Minimal breakfast left at your door (no fresh juice). The grounds looks run down and the staff seem overworked and there was trash & empty drink cans from previous guests left sitting around outside. The fountain outside our room was dirty and not properly cared for. Check-in is supposed to be 3pm, however, another couple in our party had to wait until 3:40pm because their cabin was not ready. Then we noticed cat throw up from a stray cat on the porch and dirty mop bucket water being tossed right in the dirt in front of the entry to their door. So we had to go get someone to clean it up. This was their 30th wedding anniversary getaway, so we were all disappointed. The cabins were okay, but not worthy of the $230.00 a night that we were charged. Will not stay again.

Crystal E.

Yelp
Wow...is all I can say. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, and serene getaway... this is a good place to start. The Hoffmans Haus is rated as the top Bed & Breakfast in Texas and I can see why. The people are down to earth with complete southern hospitality. The accommodations to the choice of room was beyond customer service. I could not have been more happier. I loved every aspect. The aromatherapy shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion, the unbelievably comfortable beds, and we can't forget the breakfast in bed. You are surrounded by wine vineyards and German restaurants for those seeking something different. - Happy Traveling

Sarah G.

Yelp
Our recent stay at the Hoffman Haus was magical. We stayed in the Basse House, which is a stone house dating back to 1871. It's a gorgeous house. The beds were super comfortable and the daily breakfast was divine. Took one star away for cleanliness and amenities. The floors were so dirty that after only 30 seconds of walking around your feet/socks started to turn black. Also, the kitchen was a bit lacking. There was no cutting knife, no spatula, no small pot, no strainer, also the electric tea kettle had not been cleaned out after last use. Also, there were no laundry bags, which would have been a nice touch. We thought one room had them, but it turned out to be a previous guests garment bag that they had left behind. Would stay there again, but might try one of the newer houses.

Claire W.

Yelp
This is a lovely property and our first night was fine, but I would not stay in any room attached to the great hall again. There was a dinner event that turned into a party with loud music and drunk people on the patio outside until at least midnight. The only access we had to after hours assistance was phone numbers on the doors of the great hall which meant I would have had to walk through the patio party to call someone to ask them to quiet down and I chose not to do that. Party goers staying across from us continued to be loud afterwards. Next time we will probably try somewhere else.

Jesus G.

Yelp
This past weekend was our first time visiting the HH. Everything was amazing! The staff helped me organize my proposal out in the garden area and it was an unforgettable moment that we will always cherish! Amy was very helpful every time I would call and ask any questions prior to our arrival. We will for sure be returning soon in the future.

Elaine B.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay here!! Perfect, quiet location tucked behind Main Street. We would always walk to dinner on Main Street. Our cottage was spacious, clean, and cute. The soaps in the shower and bathroom were also a highlight- made by the local Hummingbird Farms. Breakfast was served in a basket and delivered to your door each morning at 9am! It was sooo good! We would definitely return.

Susan P.

Yelp
We stayed at Hoffman Haus while on a Hill Country Blue Bonnet cycling trip with LizardHead Travel in late March for two nights. The property is beautiful, clean and very well kept, the management staff is so accommodating, they have on site massage (which was very appreciated during our cycling trip!), the breakfasts were such a pleasant surprise each morning and the beds were super comfortable. Our room had a full tub so I was also able to do an Epsom Salt Soak which revitalized me for the next day! My husband's breakfast was amazing and I am gluten free, dairy free which can make breakfast a challenge for some and I had a special delicious breakfast too. The location of this hotel is just off the Main Street in town. Everything is walkable for most. We will definitely be back to this special spot. Our unit (#12) near the main lodge and had two bedrooms and two baths with a kitchen. This property would be a great spot for a small wedding or family reunion. We returned in summer to #12 again. Had a lovely stay. Rode bikes to LBJ ranch. Fabulous breakfasts again including French press coffee and loose leaf green tea (an extra charge). Super great spot!

Yelp
My husband and I did a last minute birthday trip here and booked a cabin during the weekday. I loved everything about this place! The room itself was very clean and had a nice selection of soap, lotion, and hot tea which I really appreciated. The location is great just a block away from main street with many places we wanted to visit nearby. The grounds are beautiful and I wish i would have brought my camera stand to do some couoles photos. I live the little pond my the outdoor wedding arch. The property cat was so cute and provided entertainment looking for frogs or fish in the pond. The breakfast delivered to our room was honestly one of the best meals we had in fredericksburg. A perfect quiche with a warm scone and fresh fruit. Great chef on property. I cant wait to come back to stay here again.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Loved our stay!!! The room was perfectly wonderful. Private and cozy. Breakfast was good. I loved the sausages, everything else was good. I had a wonderful massage while there. Would love to stay here again and definitely recommend it

Laura W.

Yelp
We stayed at Hoffman Haus recently during our first trip to F-burg. It was such a cute, quaint B&B tucked away. We stayed in the Crockett Room which was completely rustic and warm, we loved it. I love how breakfast was delivered at 9:00 am sharp both days we were there. I wasn't that big of a fan of the breakfasts but my husband was. I'm just sort of a picky eater. Anyway, if and when we come back to F-burg, we'll definitely stay at HH again!

John S.

Yelp
Outstanding home away from home. A gorgeous, friendly, comfortable space. All the amenities to boot. You can just chill here on your visit to Fredericksburg, wine country, and Enchanted Rock. Plus, get a massage, take advantage of Gabby and her team for a spa moment!!! We did a deep tissue def one of our ATF (all time favorites) on the planet. Soooo goooood. Thank you HH for the great stay and amenities and overall vibe. Incredible.

Judi B.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great place to stay in Fredericksburg that's close to town but quiet and peaceful, try the Hoffman Haus. We stayed there for the 1st time and we loved it. What a treat!! The White Oak suite was very comfortable and quiet. We could've easily stayed a week. The gourmet quality breakfasts were delivered right to our door every morning. To say the are delicious is an understatement. They are fabulous! We're hooked on Hoffman Haus. We're planning to come back with family. We give it 5 plus stars. Try it and you won't be disappointed!!

Anne H.

Yelp
We've been staying at Hoffman Haus for over a decade, and honestly - it just keeps getting better with time. Our last visit was October 16-18, and it was the perfect place for 3 couples getting together. The staff was wonderful and easily accommodated our request to have breakfast served in the grand hall, so we could all sit together and enjoy breakfast. We all stayed in different places on the property, so was fun to visit each other's place. My husband and I rented the Farmhouse and would rent it again in a heartbeat. The bed linens and pillows are really great and we were off to dreamland in no time at all. We already have reservations for December and can't wait to see how everything is decorated for the holidays. Glad to be coming back to our "home away from home".

Erin A.

Yelp
My husband surprised me for my Birthday weekend with a trip to Fredericksburg. This place by far exceeded our expectations. He wanted me to mention that Shaunda did fantastic with helping him book our stay and gave plenty of recommendations as we've never been here before. The property is gorgeous and downtown is within walking distance. We will definitely make this our choice of stay the next time we visit!

Karen V.

Yelp
Cozy bed and breakfast with a cabin like feel. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast and the snacks the kept out in the lobby. Location was on point as Main Street is just a block or so away.

Pam B.

Yelp
Amazing comfort of fine hotels with rustic feel of home and hearth. Delicious breakfast at 9 am delivered to pamper each guest, with spa treatments all day to nurture, refresh and soothe. Just blocks from downtown Fredericksburg so getting exercise during exploration of local venues, activities and staycation sites will make you feel good while engaging in delightful German fare, burgers, home cooking and upscale delights. Walk home to Hofmann Haus's cushy bed after refreshing with lavender soap and soft lotion. Start another great day of fun with shopping, shuttles and sight-seeing. Repeat. Delightful people, informative hosts and friendly locals make you feel warm and welcome.

Hope T.

Yelp
Wonderful! We stayed in the log cabin and thoroughly enjoyed the comforts and solitude. Just what we needed for a weekend getaway.

Elissa S.

Yelp
It was my husband and my 1-year anniversary and we wanted to get out of town for a while... Fredericksburg seemed like a great 2-day, 1-night trip and I chose Hoffman Haus for our B&B based on great Google reviews mentioning a picnic basket breakfast. We booked the Morning Star room but when we arrived the hostess let us know that they had had some plumbing problems so we were moved to a different cottage, a freestanding one called Bluebonnet that she said had a bigger living-room area. The cottage had a bedroom, a living room with a little sink, fridge, microwave, TV with DVD player and cable, comfy couch and chairs, and a small rustic dining table. There was also a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. Our stay was very comfortable and the pillows here were sssoooo soft and amazing. The brochure we received said that the picnic basket breakfast would be delivered "discreetly" at 9 am. Of course, the "discreet" breakfast delivery was actually a repeated pounding on the door of "BREAKFAST! BREAKFAST!" bam-bam-bam! until I opened the door bleary-eyed. (Hey. It's my vacation. I'm allowed to sleep in.) But hey, it was a nice time altogether. The big house (where the check-in is) also lets you borrow DVDs for free, so if you like snuggling and watching a movie you can do that too... though the TVs in the rooms are very small and we ended up watching a movie on my laptop screen instead. The location was also really nice and only a block away from the main drag and two blocks from the Nimitz Museum.

Yelp
Greeted with ice water and fresh chocolate chip cookies on a warm day. Room was ready on time and immaculate. Very spacious. Bedding was really comfortable. Room had mini fridge stocked with juice and water. Very quiet property that is within walking distance of Main Street. Breakfast delivered to our room every morning. Got to sit out on the balcony and enjoy wonderful food every morning. My wife loved the lavender bath and lotion products. We have done a few B+B in Fredericksburg now but I think we have found a favorite that we will keep coming back to from now on.

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Hoffman Haus! Everything was beautiful, and we loved the small touches such as the breakfast delivery in the morning. The staff was very kind and accommodating. This was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend!

Yelp
One of the nicest and friendliest places we've ever stayed. This was for our engagement weekend and they upgraded us, really took care of us. From start to finish, from the room, decor, friendliness, extras...just an amazing experience.

Yelp
My wife and I just returned home from a 3 day stay here. We loved it! It's nice and quiet. We stayed in the Alamo, which is upstairs. Breakfast is served each morning in a picnic basket to your room. It's within walking distance of the shops downtown. We look forward to going back.

Yelp
Great location off of Main Street. Our room was modern yet rustic. Definitely the best place we have stayed this far. The breakfast is a bit to be desired. Service was great, fast easy check in. Beds are very comfy as are the pillows and linens are nice!! We slept like babies! My tips for improvement would be a better coffee and just a pastry delivery in the morning. Everyone loves a pastry and they have some great pastry shops in town. Also, the floors and behind beds, crevices could use a good cleaning. As a VRBO owner myself I notice these things.

Yelp
Try their cookie bar! I love their chocolate chip cookies! Also the vegan cranberry orange pecan is really good! The gluten free and the vegan oatmeal raisins need work though. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I never had a problem that they weren't happy to fix. I only stayed here for two days but both of the breakfasts that I had were to die for, I even took part of one home with me! It is a nice place that feels very secluded. Even though you really aren't that far from all the other guests, you rarely see them. It is also nice that it is only a block away from main street (and most of the activities in Fredericksburg). This would be a fantastic place for a wedding, if it wasn't 4 hours away from most of my family members I would probably end up getting married here. All of the furniture is nice and comfortable, the beds are plush and fantastic. I loved the decor, whoever decorated did a fantastic job. The bathtub is awesome, it made for such a comfortable bath, I highly recommend utilizing it. It was fun to see the cats running about the property, as well as one day a large dog lazing about. They even have a large and fairly varied DVD collection that included many things (such as Stargate SG1) that I wouldn't expect to find at your typical bed and breakfast. Overall I highly recommend this place, I consider it to be well worth the price.

Yelp
This place is gorgeous! I went back and forth for days trying to choose among the many hotels and B&Bs in the area, and I could not have been happier with my choice of Hoffman Haus. My 6 year old and I went for a quick 3 day trip from San Antonio. We had the Bluebonnet Suite, and it was the perfect size with room for her to run around. I loved the blend of shabby chic and rustic in the room, and the bed and sitting areas were very comfy. Another great thing was the DVD player. We brought some movies from home for my daughter and I chose a few, as well as a book from the office. The picnic basket breakfasts were so fun! They even made a more kid-friendly meal of waffles in place of florentine eggs for my daughter- very thoughtful touch. There is an ice machine outside, a cookie jar inside, a koi pond, and many other little extras that make this place a step above. This will definitely be our go-to place for a quick getaway. This was our first time in Fredericksburg, and we had a great time!

Yelp
My husband and I have never really celebrated our anniversaries anywhere particularly special. Our 11th year anniversary was out of the world solely because of Hoffman Haus. I have already pre-booked next years anniversary it was literally that amazing. Right in the center of town which means you never use car as you have quick access to all shops/restaurants available on and off Main St. The amenities were homemade goodness of all kinds...from the shampoo/conditioner/soaps (lemon/lavender scent) that were available in the shower to the chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us upon arrival (and chilled champagne) to the homemade sausage/ham and cheese quiche the next morning delivered promptly at 9am with hot coffee, OJ and homemade pecan biscotti. SERIOUSLY. If you need a quiet, comfortable king size bed and privacy for some one on one relaxation, this is the place. But you better schedule quickly because the schedule fills up soon. LOVE

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Hoffman Haus! It is a great location and everything is well taken care of and clean. I loved the breakfasts and snacks. My favorite part of this place is the library room filled with books, movies and cookies! Wonderful homemade cookies. The big bathtub was also a huge plus for me! I am usually too tall to enjoy a bath. It's all about the little things! Overall, everything was clean, comfortable and welcoming. A great experience! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I can't wait till I can make the trip again, I will be staying here!

Yelp
I would recommend this place to anyone. We stayed in the Weber House - it's beautiful and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and delivered every morning in a picnic basket. The soaps in the restroom were wonderful, the bedding was luxurious, and all of the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I will be coming back for sure!

Yelp
I am not a B and B sort of guy but I thought my wife would like it when I booked it. Turns out she is not a B and B sort of person either. But since their aren't any upscale hotel options (Hampton Inn actually looked really nice), this place looked as nice as any. I guess it was as nice as you could ask for. This is only my second stay at a bed and breakfast. The first time, I felt like I was staying with my wife's great grandparents. This place was better than that. Each room had it's own building. It was rustic but not fru-fru. It has most of the amenities you need. It is very comfortable. There was a pesky cat that ran into our room when we opened the door (since I am deathly allergic to cats, that was disconcerting). The cat also pawed at our door the next morning as some sort of b and b wake-up call. There was a very nice breakfast delivered to our room. Conveniently located. I would probably stay here again if I had to spend the night in Fredericksburg. No reason not to. Smiley face
