Hoffmans All American Grill

Great selection, atmosphere, and service. The salmon was a little salty for my taste, but the salads, wings with carolina sauce, chicken & shrimp pasta, dessert, and old fashioned made up for it. I want to go back and try more from the menu.

The food was absolutely delicious! Came here for the Creme Brulee with steak as a starter. A little off the beaten path but worth the drive.

We stopped here on a Saturday early afternoon for lunch while traveling from PA to MD. I found it in Google maps by searching restaurants near where we were at the time. We sat at the bar but there were plenty of tables open. We ordered a salad and a sandwich. Both were pretty good. The bartender was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was laidback and easy going. There was plenty of parking. I would go here again.

Just had the Best piece of Prime Rib of my 50+ years on this earth. The service was excellent. The only thing I made a mistake on was getting the Queen cut instead of King cut. I will not make that mistake again.

Brought a couple here for dinner on a Friday night and it was good food and service. Very friendly staff. Returned for breakfast Sunday and portions were skimpy and below expectations. Very pricey for sausage and gravy w/ home fries and french toast, eggs, bacon, coffee.....$40 for two I'll drive to the Walnut Bottom Diner for breakfast from now on

Lovely space, unfortunately the food (crab cake sandwich , menu said "new recipe") was pretty abysmal, waitress got our drink orders wrong TWICE so we just gave up, and there was a bug that looked like an ant with wings on my husband's plate amongst the chips. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but. Fairly yikes

The food is always phenomenal, the beer dinners they do make it extra special. They have a great craft beer selection in general. You can tell they work hard to be creative for the tasting menu, it pays off. I highly recommend!

Decided to give this place a 2nd try and we will not be back. After waiting 25 minutes to be seated, the server provides us with water and stated she would be right with us. After waiting 15 additional minutes, we watch another table be sat immediately and their server had already taken their order. We ended up walking out and telling the bartender because we couldn't find our server or the hostess. I understand being busy, but at least have the common courtesy to reassure your table that you haven't forgotten about them.

Hoffman's All American Grill is one of those places that's like a time capsule. You step back in time to when your parents took you out to eat at the local family restaurant. The dark decor is a little dated, but at the same time comforting. All of the patrons seem to be enjoying themselves and having a great time. The waitstaff is super accommodating and nice. I was part of a large group of people and our waitress was awesome! Everything was very efficient and she answered any questions we had. The food was really good and just about everyone in my party left full. The steaks and salmon, specifically, were a hit. If you're looking for a good restaurant right on the Mason-Dixon line, check out Hoffman's.

Food is awesome. And such a wide variety on the menu. The parking lot was pretty full when we got there...which is always a good sign. But we were seated right away, and the service was great. As you can see from both photos, I was so eager to try each dish that I forgot to take a picture until after I had dug in!

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch to celebrate her birthday and everything was amazing! The bang bang shrimp were lightly breaded & fried and drizzled with delicious bang bang sauce and the sweet potato fries were delicious! They came out nice and hot and the apple butter for dipping made them even better! We shared the Asian Salad with mandarin oranges, wonton strips, slivered almonds and fresh greens and a very good peanut ginger dressing! We decided to have dessert and were so glad we did because the spice cake with cream cheese icing was so so good and the perfect ending to a perfect meal! The service and ambience were very nice as well! We had a wonderful lunch and will definitely be back!

The service was excellent. The place takes great care to large parties. If you are looking for an appetizer then I would recommend the Nachos and the bang bang shrimp. If you have a large party you may want to have two orders of the bang bang shrimp. For the most part the food was great except the prime rib was over cooker. Everything else was cooked to perfection. If you like crab then you should try the crab cakes. One is typically enough but you are extra hungry order the double serving. It is important to understand the pepper jack Alfredo doe not have a typical Alfredo whit sauce. I did love it though.

My wife and I had passed this restaurant numerous times, after eating at another restaurant a couple of minutes away. We finally decided to give it a try. When we walked in we immediately noticed how open and spacious the dining area was. The tables are large and can sit four to five people each. I estimate that the dining area can seat about one hundred guests, not including the bar area. What surprised me the most for such a large dining area was how good the acoustics were. My wife and I didn't have to talk loud over each or other diners. The dining area was very clean and service was quick and pleasant. The food was very good. We started with a mixed drink that was tasty. We had the crab soup as an appetizer. The soup was hot and flavorful. Our main courses were the fish and chips and the Santa Fe chicken. The fish was moist and not oily. The chicken breat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Portion sizes were reasonable. Overall, I felt prices were a little on the high side but we enjoyed the food. I recommend this restaurant.

I have gone here several times. Every time I fly to that area I have to go at least once. The salmon is moist. The desserts are tasty and cute. The pot pie is packed with flavor. If you are ever in that area you have to try it.

High prices for what it is. Know your customers in the area! The portions are small and the cost is too high for the quality and portions. If you realized who lived around your restaurant, you'd do better knowing the demographic.

Love Hoffman's! The honey glazed salmon is amazing- we prob get this at least once per week. Fish and chips is bangin- best fries I've ever had. Homemade dressings are good. Glad this is right up the street!

Wow! This is just one word for Hoffmans All American Grill! If you are looking for something unique with a side of flare, this is your place!! If you are looking for a grill where your plate actually has food on it, this is your perfect spot!! The food is delicious, the staff is typically on top, and well I am a strong believer you get what you pay for! If you want cheap service or cheap food from a chef who probably just left from flipping burgers at the local fast food restaurant then this isn't your spot! If that's not what you're looking for, then stop on in, pull up a chair, order right from the menu folks, you're gonna taste buds are gonna love it!!

As my previous reviews state, I used to be a regular here. Came back for dinner recently and while the food is good the portions are really shrinking. My wife got a salad that at other places might be a side, but was a dinner portion. I get that prices are increasing but you can't increase and reduce portions. I would say it's dropped 1/2 star but Yelp doesn't allow for that. They used to have some creative flair to their menu and specials but no specials on this wed night.

Had a lovely brunch there today. I had the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict which was very good. My husband salmon Benedict's he enjoyed. My mom and cousin got the French toast. The food was delicious. They had a guy playing guitar way too loud. He was good, sang a nice selection of songs just way too loud. Please quiet down the music and I'll give 5 stars. Thank you.

A hidden gem! Despite living within 10 miles of this place, I had never been there before. But we were looking to go out for dinner and all the old regular places just ... didn't seem tasty tonight. The interior of the restaurant was lovely -- modern country chic -- and very, very clean. The tables were well -spaced and allowed easy conversation. Our waitress greeted us promptly and took our drink order. The restaurant is attached to an amazing spirit shop, so you can imagine that the adult beverages menu is "well-stocked", to say the least! The drinks menu was creative and so many of them looked very appealing. We decided to try the Skrewball Peanut Butter White Russian. OK, one of us had WAAAY more of that drink than the other, but we both declared it to be delicious! It contained just the right proportions of alcohol to be tasty, but not so much as to be overpowering. We started our dinner with the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were lightly fried and coated in a sauce that was pleasantly spicy but not too much (think mayo + sriracha). Delish!!! For our entree, we chose the Drunken Mushroom Pasta and added grilled chicken for the protein. The Drunken Mushrooms also can be an appetizer option, but I really wanted to try the shrimp, so this was a good compromise. The dinner entree comes with a house salad which was gorgeous -- fresh, crisp spinach leaves, thinly sliced red onion, ripe cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and crunchy croutons-- Yum. The Drunken Mushroom Pasta came out right on time. The portion was perfect for sharing and we could both barely finish it. The rich, creamy Brandy sauce was perfectly complemented by the mushrooms and grilled chicken. Again -- I cannot stress how Delicious this dish was (and I'll admit that I'm totally a pasta snob). We finished the dinner with the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie -- which I note is made on the premises! At this point I fully expected it to be delicious and it was!!!! I regret only that I did not have a coffee along with it. I've read some previous reviews that said the restaurant had slow service. That was not our experience at all. Our waitress (Cassandra!!!!) was fantastic -- attentive but not intrusive. She was friendly and had great suggestions for us from the menu. Everything was brought to us in a timely manner, and we never felt rushed nor ignored. If the restaurant had staffing difficulties during Covid, I would say they are fixed now. Everyone we encountered was friendly, polite, and seemed genuinely happy to work there. I'll definitely return and I highly recommend it to others.

This place really is a gem. Dined here with friends and it did not disappoint, I mean everything was cooked to perfection and they were busy. My steak was th perfect temp (medium rare) and the bacon wrapped scallops were to die for.

It would be nice to be able to leave a review of an actual dining experience, but since we were told by the hostess that she isn't allowed to seat anyone until 7, I can't. So I called to speak to a manager about what the situation is. It was explained that even though they had open tables, due to the way reservations came in for the 6-7 hour they didn't want to overload the kitchen and thereby protect the experience. Okay, that sounds good. But...they are reservations, which means you know they're coming so you could prepare your kitchen appropriately.

I called and made a reservation for a reunion of some old friends. My family used to live in Hagerstown. The lady that answered the phone was so nice and they were great about adding more guests as the party grew. We had a great experience. Carly waited on us and couldn't have been nicer. The food was very good and we had a large table in a room toward the back by ourselves. Kind of a private room. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was a little small but had good flavor. Not much lump meat. Another one of our party had the crab cake Benedict which looked great. I would go back next visit and try something else in the menu. Thanks for our reunion experience.

Went for dinner, staff was super friendly. Food was great! So difficult to choose what to order since everything looked so good. My scallops were perfectly cooked. Will be back! Update: Have been back several times. Scallops are always perfect. Everything else is great!

We ate here for the first time on our way through the state and were impressed with the quality and the wonderful taste of everything we ate. We shared the Greek salad along with fried cod tacos and coconut cream pie for dessert. Yum!! We wish we didn't live so far away as we would love to come back and try some more things on this menu. Our server was fantastic too!

Great atmosphere and service with even better service! The Mason-Dixon Wrap was delicious and the Peanut Butter Pie was amazing.

Stopped here for lunch on Sunday, 3/26/2023. Was pleasantly surprised to find a gentleman providing entertainment for the diners. We were quickly seated. I ordered a Tex-Mex salad with blackened chicken. My wife ordered a hamburger with sweet potato fries. We were both very happy with our meals. The restaurant is open and spacious with a comfortable distance between tables. This is a rare non-franchise restaurant along I-81. It is definitely worth a stop to sample its menu. I look forward to a chance to dine there again.

Service was crap. They were of the entree my husband ordered and when offered a free dessert to make up for being out of entree they were out of the one he wanted also. Waitress was very slow even with help from the bus boy who was the only one bringing us drinks. She should probably look for another profession. Watched her set another tables food down beside them and not serve it to them until after she took the time to take another tables order. When we did finally get our dinners my husband's was ice cold thankfully mine was still warmish. We will not be back. She also gave us another tables check that was not even remotely close to what our check should have been.

I haven't visited there in some time. We were pleasantly surprised. The salmon was excellent. We will definitely be back

Filet is amazing. There's a horseradish sauce alongside but it's great all by itself. Service was great, even though we were on the early side for dinner. Great spot to wait out Harrisburg rush hour traffic!

Finally had the chance to stop at Hoffman's Grill for lunch. I was very very disappointed! Ordered stuffed salmon off dinner menu. $24 and the salmon was as SMALL as palm of my hand not sure where crab meat was, it was more like a thin layer of stuffing on top of the salmon, tasted Terrible definitely did not taste crab, even side salad was on a small dessert plate with THICK ranch dressing that wouldn't pour out on my salad. I don't like to give bad reviews, but it's needed. Staff was very friendly but food very deceiving from description on menu.. wanted to post pic of food but i don't see a button to post a pic

Came for a late brunch. Limited choices, and portions were a bit small but very tasty. Outstanding service with just the right amount of attention. Wasn't aware they had so many nice dessert choices until we saw individual pies delivered to the table next to us. Homemade choices vary weekly.

I absolutely loved this brunch spot! Do not let the location fool you. When you arrive, there really isn't much around other than a few State Line motels, but trust me when I say you will not regret stopping at Hoffman's for a bite! My girlfriend and I arrived here on a Sunday morning around 11. The great thing about Hoffman's is that they have live music during brunch from 11-2! The woman who performed while we were there was an amazing artist and very pleasant to listen to while we ate. The service was phenomenal. Our hostess was very friendly when we first arrived and our waitress was just as hospitable. The mimosas were only $2 each and the champagne was poured generously. I ordered the western omelette and my girlfriend ordered the Marylander omelette- they were both delicious! If I had to choose one of the two, I would recommend the Marylander if you're a fan of crab meat. It had lumps of crab doused in old bay and is topped with a creamy sauce. I cannot wait to visit again!

Do not judge this place by the outside .. It is amazing inside. I had my wedding reception here and it was SO great! The staff were incredible and Laura made sure I had everything I needed. The food was incredible, even my guests agreed. I will definitely eat here again if I'm in the area!

My husband and I are regulars here, and have tried many things on the menu. I have never had anything that wasn't good. This place is tasteful, always clean and always satisfying. Currently, I am in love with the buffalo chicken fries. These are a meal in themselves. Also trending on my radar are their wings. We have tried many flavors, my favorites being tailburner and Thai chili. Their sauces are homemade and exceptional. Other yummy choices include the bang bang shrimp, lasagna, and their soups. The French onion was super. The strawberry salad is delish, and their cobb salad was probably the best I've eaten. I am not usually a ribs person, but theirs were finger licking worthy. The owner does many many special dishes, many of them more sophisticated and calling out to the foodie in us. Oh and the desserts are all homemade as well. My husband loves the pumpkin creme brûlée.

Had take-out. Friendly service good food and and well appointed liquor store attached. Food was very good had a little bit of everything. Definitely Going to give it another shot. Shrimp and grits had a nice Smokey andouille sausage - very flavorful.

I am a frequent customer of Hoffmans. The food is consistently excellent and the prices are very reasonable for the portions. The servers are always very helpful, friendly and informative. The bar staff is hands down the absolute best in the area! Management is always on site and engaged with the customers for feedback, suggestions or just friendly conversation. TOP NOTCH!

The location and outside do not do this place justice. The inside is very updated and comfortable!! Great food with great prices!

Had Valentines Day dinner at Hoffmans and the food was delicious!! Crab dip was so good, crab cakes and parmesan risotto were amazing. So good in fact we went back the next night!! Crab dip again, yum! This time I got the Shrimp and Grits, I HIGHLY recommend this dish! It was the perfect texture, flavor was incredible and had lots of shrimp. Husband got the blackened chicken and shrimp pasta, he wants to go back tomorrow and get it again!! Great atmosphere and awesome food, give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

Simply put, the best food in the Hagerstown/Greencastle area bar none. The food is simple but delicious, and they have a great beer and wine selection. The staff are all extremely friendly and the bartender Chris is the best. Sunday brunch is amazing and they usually have live music as well. Nothing bad to say about this place.

Burger Was Great, the Shoe String Fries i LOVE But the Water has a Bitter Salty Taste which also make the Coke Taste Bad, and if U take a sip of Ur drink then take a Bite of Food it REALLY AFFECTED THE TASTE OF THE FOOD... Anyway, Great Food , Hope the Get the Drink situation worked out soon...

Good food at reasonable prices. Meat is the way to go rather than fish. Prime rib is exceptional.

Excellent honey glazed salmon Risotto is perfect. Garlic mashed potatoes are great. Atmosphere is creatively done.

I have been coming here weekly for lunch over the last 3 months. Great food! Everything I and a few of my coworkers have tried on the menu had been very good. From garden harvest salad to French onion soup to Reuben sandwich to build your own burger to the homemade chips they have all been really good. I do not understand the criticisms of the interior as it's very nice. Wonderful wood bar.

I'm only writing this because it's a shame. The company we work for was having our Christmas dinner and we needed to feed about 20 people. Set this up last week. our event was at 5 pm we received a call around 3 pm the day of they were not coming. No explanation just they couldn't make it. This dinner would have been well over $300 totally disappointing.

One of the best sirloin steaks I've had.. great staff. Amazing bourbon selection too. Welcomed after a long drive up 81.

Can't be a better place to stop after a long road trip! Home cooking and friendly staff. Not to mention very clean bathrooms!

Ate here on Oct 22, and had a great meal and waitress. Her name was Lisa I believe. Started off promptly with drinks, ordered an appetizer that came out quickly as well. The waitress was very attentive and constantly checked up, but not to an annoying point. We had the crab dip and it was awesome. Next we had an a bowl of French onion and it tasted like it was just made, and also awesome. The best part was the entree, the dry aged ribeye. Hands down best ribeye I've had in a long while. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, it is a bit pricy, but definitely worth the money to me.

This is a new restaurant so everything is shiny & new looking. The food was FABULOUS and is something you would expect to be served at a high end restaurant and not a "grill". The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the following reasons.... Our server was training a new girl so the service left a bit to be desired. We were never brought water and she didn't check on us for long stretches of time. The atmosphere is very noisy and reminds me of a diner. I wouldn't hesitate to return but it definitely is a casual dress establishment.

We came out for dinner due to the great word of mouth i have received the atmosphere was very nice and clean our food came out and tasted good however one of my friends had a friend in her salad that wanted out of the bowl. Now i am aware that this could happen anywhere and I'm sure it does but when such a thing happens you would assume you would immediately be greeted by the manager however after asking the waitress if they told the manager they said they did we assumed he decided that we were not worthy enough for at least an apology to me that is the deal breaker especially when you see him go to other tables and ask them how they're their doing only after complaining multiple times about his disregard for customer service he came out and gave my friend a 4.99 discount when she was spending 30.00 on her meal.
