Yelp
A preliminary 4.5 star review of what might be my favorite ice cream find of the past few years. Sad to say I'm late in discovering this place, but with several fishing trips in this vicinity every year, I plan on making up for lost time.
We arrived around 4pm on a weekday in January, no other customers so I can't comment on what seems to be their biggest challenge, crowds. Of the 30 or more flavors, several tempted me. But as this was my first time, it had to stay simple. I selected choc choc chip paired with vanilla that contained caramel and choc covered nuts. Both were dense and creamy, with great flavor. The caramel even tasted like caramel, not just an amber colored syrup. The choc had a deep dark flavor, as did the generous chips in it. My companion chose the mint cookie fudge(?), this was very good too. Nice mint flavor with lots of veins of cookies and fudge.
The 2 employees on duty seemed happy to be there, maybe partially due to the manageable crowds? The counter and freezer cases seemed very clean, the floors appeared to be worn more from foot traffic than from a lapse of cleaning. I would possibly avoid this place on peak summer days, but only to save myself the long wait others have written about. More likely I'll just try to plan earlier visits and hope for the best.
