divine. no notes. apple coleslaw and sweet bbq sauce perfectly complemented the pulled pork sandwich. didn’t try any sides but they looked good !

Amazing experience. Super easy to order off the Kiosk. Once I did the guy behind the counter was really appreciative and super cool. I got the Cubano, Mac N Cheese, Beans and the Blueberry Peach Cobbler and MANNNNNNN 💥 💥 💥 it was amazing. The beans were personally my favorite. Overall it was great. The dips that came with the sandwich were great too I think the yellow was a honey mustard. That one was definitely 👌 great. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Wow! We were super wowed by everything we got! We got the hog fries (WORTH THE PRICE), the original with brisket and the smoked Cubano. All of it was exceptional and 100% worth every penny. We will be returning!

I tried the smash burger with fries, an excellent option if you’re craving a good burger. You order through a tablet, so it’s relatively easy, and the food was ready in about 6 minutes. Nothing to complain about — everything was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely come back.

Takeout review: Ordered a 2 meat platter with brisket and corned beef - both were solid. Pickled onions and pickles come with it. Had 4 sides: Collared greens, fries, coleslaw, and the ube cornbread. Collared greens were my favourite and were super flavourful. Fries also came quite crispy and seasoned well. Wings here are quite big but a little dry and could be seasoned more.

I have only tried two dishes at Hog and Tradition, and both have been really delicious. The first time we went, I got the brisket grilled cheese. It came on nice toasty and buttery bread that was packed full of tasty brisket and multiple types of melty cheese. It had a good amount of flavor, but I will say it's pretty rich and heavy, which is to be expected. But overall, it's a solid option. The second time we visited, I really wanted to try their smoked turkey club sandwich after seeing a picture online. It did not disappoint. It was by far the best club sandwich I've had. The bread was the same as the brisket grilled cheese, nice thick buttery toasted bread. The smoked turkey had a lot of flavor and was not dry at all. The bacon had a good amount of flavor without being too much. The chipotle mayo was also a nice touch. The seasoned fries are pretty solid. They are a thicker cut fry, but they still usually retain a nice texture. The seasoning on top of them is also pretty good. My only complaint is both times we visited, the fries were barely warm when we received our meals. They still had some crunch, but they definitely weren't freshly fried. They had been sitting for a little bit. Service was a little bit weird. Everyone was nice, but the self ordering on the touch screen is kind of weird. It's nice in some cases, but this one just functions a little weird to me. I wasn't sure if our buzzer activated at the end of the order, as there wasn't really anything to confirm that it was activated. It was okay, but no the best. The atmosphere is hall pass is usually pretty nice, but it is usually high energy and sometimes it can be difficult to find a good place to sit. But it's not usually that crowded, so I wouldn't worry too much.

First time getting this place. My lady and I tasted the fries and they almost tasted like mold. Or something. We don’t know but tasted off for sure. The seasoning was great and just think maybe the meat or fries were bad. Don’t know. Than we both felt sick almost like food poisoning. She had it worse than I did. We just ended up tossing the food that cost us about $70 so Just beware. We really wanted to like this place since famous Dave’s closed up shop.

We did not have a good experience at this place. It was a Saturday and pretty packed, noisy, and bustling. The way they handle the workflow of customers and food is confusing and not intuitive. The workers are running around building orders and none are very friendly or helpful to customers. You order yourself at a kiosk, grab a vibrating, blinking, light bar and go wait for the food to appear on a tray. They were out of several products, including the pulled pork that I wanted. I ordered the brisket which tasted like a simple, non-flavorful pot roast. The fries were good and crispy. The Purple Yams were amazing and exceptionally delicious - I could eat just that it was so good. And the "Ruby sauce" was a tasty combination of ketchup and BBQ sauce, however, they don't give you enough for your meat. I had half a small container to use on my large slab of meat and fries. My wife thought the mac and cheese was lovely and enjoyable. However, we were not impressed over all and probably won't be back, except maybe to get more Purple Yams.

The chicharron was well seasoned and cooked well. The brisket was a little dry bit still good. The sides (mac n cheese, cole slaw, and ube dessert) carried the entire meal. The Hall Pass area had a great ambiance as well.

This was our go to when we had a tournament in Salt Lake, fast , easy, and you can get a drink too. I believe this was best spot in Hall pass. I had gotten the PORK CRACKLIN, Mac&Cheese, and Grilled Plantains. So fire. Was not expecting good cracklin coming from Salt Lake City, super juicy so much flavor. Mac and Cheese was super cheesy, each bite just cheese strings everywhere. For the amount of 2 stars this place has, just doesn't make sense. I'm coming here every time I'm in Utah.

Great addition to Hallpass! You still order from an iPad, but the workers were still friendly and helpful when we had questions about their bbq sauces, and then needing togo containers after our meal. Everything came out hot and fresh! The wings were my favorite. Not overly crispy and the flavor was so good. Slightly smokey flavor and there was just enough sauce. The hog fries were another favorite topped with brisket, bacon, and other yumminess. We also go a bacon burger, regular fries, Mac and cheese, and brisket. Everyone enjoyed their meal and would come again.

Wow, the brisket was tender as can be, and so tasty. The Ube cornbread was very interesting in a good way. Food came out pretty fast and my wife said the fries were great. Since it's inside a food hall (the first in Utah), you can pair this dish with something from somewhere else and split the meals which is always dope.

We had family visiting from out of town and spent the morning enjoying some family-friendly activities at The Gateway. For lunch, we decided to try HallPass, which offers several dining options ensuring something for everyone. My wife and I chose Hog & Tradition. The Smoked Cuban was one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've ever enjoyed, and definitely the best one I've had in Utah. It was packed with juicy meat and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend getting a side of the Collard Greens (very flavorful) and dipping your sandwich in the broth. Spectacular! My wife and kids enjoyed the Hog Fries and Bacon Mac & Cheese, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied. We would definitely go back for another Cuban. My only complaint is that there was a soccer game playing on all of the TVs, and it was a bit loud, making it hard to converse with our group.

My wife and I decided to try this place this morning. We were not disappointed. I had a sandwich with "chicharrones" (delicious fried pork belly cracklings) topped with apple coleslaw and a side of bacon mac and cheese. My wife had the brisket. Everything was wonderful and we want to try the rest of the menu. We will be back.

Best bbq in salt lake. Brisket is king and this is the best in town. Selling out is the norm so get there early especially on the weekends

Ok, I ain't gonna lie, Hall Pass is a pretty neat place. The atmosphere and ambiance is very cool. There are at least four different style of food offerings here. I got the Grilled cheese smoked brisket and it was tasty. Once they got it right. Now, it comes stock with onions. A lot of people like onions on their food. I'm not one of them. It too three tries before they finally were able to give me one that didn't have onions. I wasn't upset about the first one. People make mistakes. However, they even explicitly asked me, twice, to make sure I didn't want onions on the second go round. Guess what? Onions. The third time was the charm though. It was delicious. Especially without those onions...lol. I'd recommend this place to people. Just make sure to emphasize with them if there's something you don't want. Only gonna give it three stars though.

Uhhh.. not so great experience for me.. not much flavor my sandwich was full of fat and not much brisket.. the Mac and cheese was cold. I don't know if I came at a bad time but wasn't a fan. I drove out from up north so a bit of a drive and was looking forward to the turkey sandwich and was not able to order it. Then wanted to try the bread pudding and they did not have that either.. for the price and what I got vs how it tasted I don't see myself returning

The food is good but the service is not the best. I accidentally did not enter my buzzer number and after a while came up to the counter to see if my food was ready. Mind you, I came up politely with a smile on my face the girl at the counter said "you never entered your number in so I didn't know who to give the food to" I realized my mistake and apologized and she just walked away from me to the back, looking annoyed. I never once was rude or expressed any negative emotions because it was my mistake. I needed to ask for a to go box and she stayed back there for a while, I asked her for a to go box, she handed it to me and when I said thank you she just turned around and walked away. Look, I get it if I was an angry person who made a stupid mistake and was being rude. But I was kind and apologized for my mistake. Why the anger and passive aggression towards a nice customer? (who also tipped by the way). Disappointed in this experience and honestly will likely never purchase food from here again. I've worked in customer service for a very long time and the way you make customers feel is so important. I didn't appreciate the rude treatment
