"The Salt Lake City-based Dominican barbecue restaurant Hog and Tradition smokes a 16-hour slow-smoked brisket and sandwiches it between slices of Texas toast in a grilled cheese with mozzarella cheese, chipotle mayo, and pickled onions. The barbecue joint also grills up pulled pork, chicharróns, and ribs. Pair it all with ube cornbread, apple coleslaw, and Southern bread pudding." - Janna Karel

Stopped by Hog & Tradition BBQ while in Henderson, NV, for a quick trip with my girlfriend and spending some time with my cousin—and wow, this place hit the spot. We ordered a Combo #3, and it was more than enough to satisfy both of us. With our Combo #3, we settled for the smoked brisket, pulled pork, and chicken quarter for the meats, then went with mac & cheese and an extra ube cornbread for our sides. The smoked brisket was juicy and full of flavor, with that perfect smoke ring and bark. The pulled pork was tender and topped with a zesty chopped pepper mix that added a nice tang. Their leg quarters had a flavorful rub and crispy skin, and the mac and cheese brought creamy comfort vibes. But the real surprise? The ube cornbread—so moist, rich, and paired beautifully with a scoop of butter. Don’t skip the house mustard sauce—it elevated everything on the tray. The vibe was casual and welcoming, with fun piggy-themed flower vases that added some charm to the table. 📍 Great spot if you’re craving a hearty, smoky, and flavorful meal in Vegas’ quieter backyard.

Came here close to 5 pm and it was completely empty. Bad sign but I went against my better judgement. Baked beans are the worst I've ever had. Canned baked beans are better than what I was served, honestly. Cole slaw is a bland and lacks any “kick.” Pulled pork has very little smoke flavor if any. Chicken was decent but nothing g special. Spent $23 for a two meat combo and I’m truly disappointed. I really considered taking my food back for a refund. Probably won’t come back and don’t recommend this place. Mission BBQ is a few blocks up the street. I’ll try them next time I want BBQ in Henderson.

Saw this on an empty stomach and placed an order for the family. We got three meals and spent $60, which seems worth it for the portions we got. I did not taste anyone else's food, but I got a two meat combo ribs and pulled pork with double Mac and it comes with ube cornbread. The cornbread was a little dry, but had a fresh corn taste with a bit of sweetness. With butter, it was pretty good. The mac and cheese had good seasoning. Definitely not boring. The pulled pork was not super juicy but it definitely wasn't dry. Does not taste smokey, but I dont know that smokey was the flavor they were going for. It has a good, mildly seasoned that goes great with sauce but also in the mac and cheese. The ribs were my favorite. This does not taste like typical American BBQ of any region I am familiar with, but it does taste good! The rub on the ribs was very flavorful and the meat was tender. Everyone else seems happy with their food also. I will pro ably try this place a few more times before I have a final verdict, but it's a welcome change to grill meat.

First time here, and unfortunately not what I thought it would be. Came on Sunday for AYCE BBQ. We spent $100 on two people,1 drink, and a tip. First order macaroni was forgotten, second order peach and blueberry cobbler was forgotten. Not a huge deal but just part of the experience. Meats were dry and greasy, tried the brisket, chicharron, ribs and wings. My chicken wings were cold, and Mac and cheese came out cold. It was apparent from the meats, to the sides, they prepared everything in advance so as to keep up with demand but I fear the quality was lost when forgetting to reheat it all. I came for the food and it lacked, hopefully they can balance demand and food quality as they continue growing and learning. Otherwise the environment is 10/10 with great music, ambiance, and TOP NOTCH customer service

We had a wonderful time eating at Hog & Tradition. It has a family-friendly atmosphere. The staff never fail to check on us from time to time. We were surprised to see ube desserts on their menu since we normally see ube flavors in Asian restaurants only. Turned out the chef is married to an Asian that explains it 😊 The pulled pork melts in your mouth. It's so tender and perfectly marinated in their homemade bbq sauce. It's not the typical American bbq sauce. We were told it's a Dominican bbq style. Don't forget to ask for a bun on the side when you order the 3 meat BBQ platter. We will definitely come back to this place when the bbq cravings kick in!!!

Google
We were excited to try this place as good bbq it’s just a necessity in life. :-) The food was tasty, though the brisket was over cooked a bit. The hard edges (beyond “burnt ends”) made the brisket sandwich difficult to eat. The pork was really tender and good! Unfortunately, we won’t be going back- the value just isn’t there. We had two regular sandwiches and shared a drink and it was $31.96. It would have cost and extra $5 each for fries or another side. Too us, that it’s too much for just a sandwich.

Google
Best BBQ in Henderson. Fantastic food, the brisket and chicken were especially tasty. Sides are all prepared with care with the bake beans containing strands of pork, the Ube added to corn bread, and apples added to the slaw. A tad on the expensive side but portions are generous. Worth a visit when you feel you deserve something slightly better for dinner.

We’ve been here a total of 4 times and every time we’ve gone the food was great. The service lacks, almost every time we’ve gone in, we wait several minutes for someone comes out and takes our order. All 4 times we’ve gone it’s been pretty empty. The meats are flavorful and done really well. The brisket is a hit or miss, it’s either cooked perfectly and very little to no fat or dry and way too much fat. The chicken and pulled pork are super flavorful and delicious. My only complaint is they got rid of the Dominican rice, which besides the flavorful meats, the rice is why we would go there. The rice was incredible, I don’t know why they took it off the menu. In my opinion it’s was one of things that made them stand out. I think the sides need some work, none of the sides are different than any other bbq spot. The ube cake is ok nothing special, my kids love it though! Overall it’s a solid bbq spot, please bring back the rice!

Yelp
Randomly found this place nearby, and was craving for some BBQ. Restaurant is very clean and spacious inside. Got the 2 Meat Combo and it was A LOT of food and worth the price. Brisket and Ribs were really delicious and seasoned. The Mac n Cheese was decent but loved the Baked Beans! Wasn't able to finish my food but still had a lot to take home for left overs. Service was great, staff had great energy and was really on point with everything from checking in and helping us clearing our table.

Yelp
This used to be Skinny Fat. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was not busy. We ordered at the cashier and they brought out the food to the table. We had brisket, pulled pork and ribs combo with fries and collard greens. Brisket was tender and not fatty. Pulled pork had a nice sauce on it, ribs were well seasoned and not dry. Collard greens were just 'ok'. Attentive cashiers/waiter/waitress. Clean tables and good ambiance inside with tv playing some Netflix show. A little pricey for the portion and for a local establishment. But overall it is worth to try it at least once.

Yelp
I was looking for a new place to eat for dinner and this place has always been on my list! These were the only two pictures I grabbed, but I opted for the two meat one side combo -- all the flavors of this were delicious. Everything was seasoned so well and they have a unique sweet barbecue and mustard sauce that pair well with everything. Upon arrival, you passed by an open seating area on the outside and the inside is spacious. Since I ordered to go, I went straight to the pick up window and they had my order ready; they were so kind as well! Since I came later in the evening, the food was a bit dry than I thought, but it was still very enjoyable. I can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Omg so good! I got the combo plate with pulled pork and a side of coleslaw. Everything was amazing. The Coleslaw had thin apple slices in it which I have never seen before but it added a sweet flavor that I loved. The pork was amazing by itself, but they had 3 sauce options. I tried their sweet bbq and the mustard bbq. The sweet bbq was not my favorite but the mustard bbq was really good !

Yelp
Don't go at 6pm the meat seemed to be dried out only the brisket was still juicy Fries were the star of the meal mac and cheese also seemed old

Keoni B.

Yelp
We love ribs, like most people. When we seen these ribs online I knew we had to try them. Glad we did. Love the light Smokey flavor with their rub on it. They were also juicy and meaty. What else could you ask for? Oh! How about some sauce. Well they have those too. We ordered our ribs plain so we could add our own sauce. They had 3 different types. A mustard, sweet bbq and spicy bbq. I liked the spicy bbq the best. It was very mild but with a little extra flavor. We also tried the mac and cheese. It wasn't our favorite. I like my mac and cheese more gooey and this was a more dry type. The restaurant was nice and clean with lots of room for seating and moving around. There were TVs with sports playing if you like sports with your ribs. We enjoyed our meal and we are glad that we found about spot to enjoy some ribs.

Yelp
This place I was asked to review. The restaurant is clean. The food wasn't what I expected I didn't like it. It was overpriced. I definitely can't see my self coming back. Definitely still come down and give them a try for yourself. Ps the brownie they give the top is not ice cream it's butter.

Simon A.

Yelp
I'm actually a little sad writing this review. I really wanted to love this place, especially after being recommended to it by a friend, but hog & tradition really did not hit the spot. To start their menu is pretty standard, although they do have some stand out items such as the Ube cornbread. I went with the three meat platter, which comes with two sides. The brisket was pretty decent and very moist. It had a good amount of fat around the smoke ring. The St. Louis ribs however, were a miss in my book. The bark on the ribs was so tough and peppery It was almost in-edible. The Chicharron was very tough and did not have that crispy bite that you're looking for. I also really wanted to like the Ube cornbread, but it was starchy and stale Lastly, the mac & cheese was very bland.

Yelp
The food here is prepared really well with a perfect amount of char on all the skin. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming and they were willing to answer all our questions. The restaurant is decorated very nicely but the true highlight for us, is the dog friendly patio. It has the fake grass and our puppies were extremely happy hanging out while we enjoyed an amazing lunch. Thank you guys, we'll be back.

Nichole C.

Yelp
Ok.. so I work in the same parking lot. So you know I had to try it! The service was great! Everyone was super helpful and guided on how and what to order as well as bringing extra napkins when they saw our roll was out. The chicharron, wings, brisket, chimichurri, and Mac and cheese are BOMB. I could do without the ribs.. they just don't do it for me. The bread pudding needs ice cream. So might do that for to go next time. I do like the backyard area, because they have plastic axe throwing and it's entertaining. I would love to go back soon, but need an eating partner. Interested? lol.

Yelp
I'll admit that I'm generally pretty picky about my BBQ. I make pretty good stuff myself and only eat it in restaurants when I'm out with friends. I've been wildly unimpressed by the famous places here but this was a pleasant surprise. Honestly, this is the first BBQ spot I've tried here that I actually liked. I guess Lucille's is OK but they're a chain and they're nothing spectacular. The service was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was comfortable with an upscale vibe. Every meat I ate was tasty and tender. I liked all the meat and I particularly liked the beans. I usually order sausage at BBQ spots but I was surprised that they don't offer it here. The sandwiches all look good as well so I might have to come back and sample some of those. I'm perpetually on the hunt for a good Cubano

Yelp
I was in the Henderson area so I stopped by this bbq spot I have heard about. The overall establishment is unique and funky purple themed color schemes w/pink pigs etc. They had an outside patio along with a bar inside 21+ area. They have a pretty large space for dining as well. I had help ordering from Kevin & Naye at the front. I asked for extra soft cheesy mac n cheese & it was definitely one of the better bbq/aides of mac I have had in Vegas thus far. They also add some other mini onions tomatoes n spices in the pulled pork which gave it a spicy but sweet flavor. They had 3 bbq sauces, one regular, spicy & yellow carolina style. I mixed the spicy and original for the perfect combo of heat and sweetness. The purple "Ube"cornbread w soft butter was such a unique and cool extra touch too. If I am in the area I will definitely go back for a delicious meal!

Yelp
Was in Henderson for the day so I stopped by to pick up some food to go. What I loved is that prices were reasonable, which for bbq it's been getting out of hand at some of these places lol My first time here and will not be the last . We really enjoyed all of our food. Keep in mind I had to drive 35 min home so maybe eating there would have been better. Brisket 5/5 Pulled Pork4/5 Chicken 4/5 really good Ribs 3.5/5 they were not bad, I'm just not a bbq sauce girly next time I will ask for no sauce Greens 3.7/5 would get again, the portion is what kind threw us off, so much juice not enough of the actual greens so kinda felt like it was a waste for the $5 add on. Mac n cheese 3.8/5 decent would get again Rice &Peas 1/5 im so sad about this. Maybe I tried on an off day but it looked beautiful but nooooo flavor. Ube Cornbread 4/5 it was delish If you are in the area def check them out. Door was good, customer service was great

Haynboi D.

Yelp
Had take out. The staff was friendly. The chicharon was tasty and crispy. The greens was cooked like we like them. The ube cornbread not a fan, dry and no ube taste. The chicken and ribs was just okay. Will try again on the other meats.

Yelp
We got our order to go and was excited to try this new bbq place. It looked great based on photos and I also noticed there's more cars there than there was when the restaurant was skinny fats. So first look, portions are big! I ordered the combo with chicharron and ribs with a side of mac and cheese and baked beans. My partner ordered the combo as well with brisket and pulled pork with mac and cheese and fries. Taste was a hit, but there was one big miss. The sides were outstanding. They were so great that I actually think they were better than the bbq meats! And meats... so I didn't like my chicharron or ribs at all because of a small mishap, which was pickle juice! I dislike pickles and since this was my first time, I didn't know the pickle would be directly in my order and it was big juicy ones too. I feel like that altered the taste completely. The container with my meats had pickled onions and pickles in it, which the meats got saturated in and since it was to go, I pretty much marinated and soaked up all the juice. I ended up stealing my partner's order. Brisket was dry to me. After we had the ube corn bread. That was pretty good and a nice surprise since we didn't order it. Overall, sides were amazing. Next time, I'll ask for no pickles or pickled onions now that I know. Also prepare yourself, because the portions are huge!

Yelp
Arrived on a Thursday evening for dinner, and there was plenty of seating. They also have plenty of parking! It's self serve, so you go up to the counter to order, then find an open seat. Ordered Combo Plate 3, good to share between 2 people. Smoked Brisket (4/10) - On the dryer side, didn't have that deep of a smoked flavor, and overall kind of just tough to the bite - They give a good amount of meat, but it was just too dry and flavorless to enjoy properly. Also they +2$ to get this item, which kinda sucks Pulled Pork (5/10) - This was a little less dry than the brisket, although it defintely didn't have the smoked flavor again. Was slightly disappointed Pork Belly Chicharron (6/10) - This one was actually crispy, and slightly melt-in-your-mouth - I'm not the biggest fan of chicharron, but as far as chicharron's go, this was not terrible. Ube Cornbread (3/10) - The concept is great, name sounds good, poor execution - Cornbread was SUPER DRY!!!! Literally couldn't cut it with a knife. When using a fork, we had to push down super hard just to break a piece off.

Yelp
Hog & Tradition a new BBQ restaurant in Henderson. Texas-style BBQ with Dominican Republic influence. Casual dining, TV's, spacious, regular & picnic style tables, a bar with a variety of beers on tap, has outdoor seating available & also pet friendly. I love that the color scheme is purple because it is my absolute favorite color. Place your order first at the counter, the cashier will give you a buzzer & once your meal is ready you'll pick it up at the counter. There's a self serve beverage and sauce section. Shout out to Diamond who greeted us, she was sweet & polite she took our order, also gave good feedback on the menu & checked on us while we were eating. On the menu: Smoked Cubano Sandwich with Mac & Cheese/Platano Maduro (Sweet Plantains) Combo plate 1 - choose 1 meat - Brisket with Mac & Cheese/Collard Greens Combo plate 2 - choose 2 meat - 1/4 Ribs & Smoked Brisket with Arroz con Habichuelas (Rice & Beans)/Mac Salad Southern Bread Pudding Combo plates include Ube Cornbread, BBQ Sauce, Pickels and Pickled Onions Our food came out looking good and it sure was good too. The Brisket was tender & well seasoned. The sides we ordered were very good. The Mac & Cheese was creamy, cheesy & tasty, not bland at all. My Brothers liked their sweet plantains, rice & beans & the Mac Salad. The Collard Greens were ok it was a bit too spicy for me. My Brother liked the Smoked Cubano Sandwich he said it was delicious. The Ube Cornbread was a hit pleasant-tasting & we could taste the Ube flavor but I thought the dollop of butter was a lot I only used what I needed. The Southern Bread Pudding was so good a perfect treat for the dessert. We did have some leftovers to take home. Overall we enjoyed the food/service & will be back again.

Yelp
If you're in Vegas and craving some legit BBQ, Hog and Tradition is definitely worth checking out. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with great service that makes you feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. The brisket here is top-notch. It's perfectly smoked, super tender, and packed with that deep smoky flavor you want from great BBQ. The seasoning is spot-on--just the right amount of spice without overpowering the meat. The pulled pork is another winner. It's juicy and flavorful, with just the right balance of tenderness and smokiness. I usually like my pulled pork with a bit of sauce, but honestly, this one held its own without it, which says a lot about the quality. The sides didn't disappoint either. Fries were delicious as well as the plantains, however the Uber cornbread was a little dry. If you're in the mood for some solid, no-frills BBQ in Vegas, you won't regret stopping by Hog and Tradition!

Roxanne E.

Yelp
Came here to try the bbq and of course their ube corn bread. My husband and I shared the El Tigre sandwich, ube corn bread, collard greens, and the mac and cheese. The El Tigre sandwich was massive! It was filled with brisket, chicharron, plantains, pickle onions and their goldy sauce. It was filled with flavor! So thankful we shared it. The Mac and cheese was good! Kind of mushy but the flavor was delicious. The collard greens were very salty and my least favorite. I had high expectations for the ube corn bread. It honestly tasted like an original moist corn bread, which I love, but I was expecting it to taste like ube. The service was great and the ambience was huge and clean! I would like to come back to try the other items on their menu.

Yelp
Although my boyfriend and I agreed to each other earlier in the week that we would start cutting back on red meat, we were still curious about this new BBQ restaurant called Hog & Tradition located on Stephanie. We chose them as our Friday night dinner spot. This place used to be a SkinnyFATS, and before that, it looks like it used to be a bank because said bank left behind their drive-up deposit window and tube machine thing and SkinnyFATS/Hog & Tradition never removed or converted it. They are incredibly easy to find - just look for the pretty purple building off Stephanie and American Pacific. Upon arriving, we first noticed that they have an outdoor patio, which would've been nice to sit at if it wasn't still so hot outside (it's hot in Vegas until the middle of October at least). We walked in and looked over their food and beer menu, which was displayed on separate screens. There were a lot of food choices so we had to take a minute to look over the menu. Once we made our decisions, I ordered a turkey club sandwich with mac and cheese on the side and my boyfriend ordered the sharp sandwich with fries on the side. We also both got a glass of Pilsner beer brewed out of Tenaya Creek, which is a Hefeweizen, one of my favorite types of beer. I wanted to watch the Packers/Eagles game during our meal (I love football and I'm extraordinarily happy that it's back!), though I was already watching this game at home before we showed up. We took a seat at the bar area where the TV above was showing it. When we sat down, a line began forming, in which there wasn't one when we got here. We literally got here at the right time. Our food came out pretty quickly. The mac and cheese had lots of flavor but at the same time, it was a little greasy at the bottom. The turkey club was excellent. Inside it had an extra piece of bread I believe, which made it tastier. The sharp sandwich had pepper jam smothered on it, which made it look like French toast with meat inside. He ended up finishing the entire thing, like he always does at every restaurant we go to and felt bloated a few hours later. It was also a little on the expensive side (around $55 plus tip), but still it was worth trying them out. Good quality BBQ spot with a great beer selection. I would recommend them to other people I know.

Yelp
Yum, yum, yum!! In the mood for some good bbq? Look no further! We tried the combo plate three which included three meats and two sides. We tried the ribs, the chicharron, Mac n cheese and fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. The Mac n cheese was good but definitely tased like it was prepared cafeteria style and just chilled in a pan until ordered. The fries were good too but I wish we would have tried something different on the menu. We also tried all three of their bbq sauce offerings. Bbq, hot bbq and a sweet mustard. The sauces were good but were thin. I like a thicker bbq sauce. We also shared our favorite item on the menu , which was the brisket grilled cheese. Everything was great but the grilled cheese was something I would specifically come back for! The service at the register was warm and friendly and she answered all of our questions as first time guests. We dug the picnic table atmosphere and napkins at each table. Next time we are in the mood for some good bbq we will be back!

Valerie W.

Yelp
Driven past this new bbq place a few times so decided to check it out. Ambiance is nice. I liked all the picnic tables and it wasn't too busy on a Friday afternoon. The cashier was very friendly as we debated on what to order. I got the 1 combo plate with pulled pork and ube casserole. It automatically comes with pickled onions, pickles and ube cornbread. Hubby ordered the turkey sandwich and fries. They only have dark meat option for chicken so no chicken breast which would have been hubby's order otherwise. All in all the food was okay but for the price point there wasn't anything that would have me rushing back.

Rhonda L.

Yelp
We were looking for a new place to eat, and dropped in to try this place out. First thing, they were out of pulled pork and chicken. Things happen sometimes, but seeing how this is a BBQ joint, being out of 2 of the main meats is not exactly good for business. My husband and I ordered the 2 meat combo of brisket and ribs. The good: the meat was tender as all get out. We were worried that the plastic forks were not going to be strong enough...but we didn't even need knives. Flavor was on point...sides were very tasty and the ube cornbread was delicious. The downside...the food was barely room temperature. We didn't have to wait long, but I would have preferred waiting a little longer to get hotter food. I would have also preferred a caddy of sauces to try instead of just the sauce on spout by the drink station. The price was a little steep for the amount of meat given...however, we did not leave hungry as the sides definitely made up for the lack of space.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Hog and Tradition in Henderson, and it's definitely a spot we'll be coming back to! The atmosphere is unique and vibrant, with everything decked out in purple. The outdoor area is a great place to enjoy your meal, adding to the overall vibe of the place. We went with the Combo Plate Number Two, which included pork belly, chicharron, and St. Louis ribs. The ribs were cooked to perfection, falling right off the bone, and the chicharron was simply amazing--crispy and packed with flavor. The mac salad was on point, and the collard greens and fries were excellent sides that complemented the meal perfectly. We also couldn't resist ordering a dozen chicken wings with the Hog Rub, and they did not disappoint--crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Unfortunately, they were out of mac and cheese, so we'll definitely have to come back for that. But even without it, everything was picture-perfect, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. If you're in Henderson, this place is a must-visit for some of the best BBQ around. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
The Las Vegas Valley broke its all-time record high temperature today with a temperature of 120 degrees recorded at Harry Reid International Airport. To beat the heat, I decided to stay inside and binge watch Season 3 of Barbecue Showdown on Netflix. After watching episode after episode of delicious Southern barbecue eats, I found myself craving barbecue for dinner (surprise, surprise). After a quick Yelp & Google search, I discovered Hog & Tradition had recently opened on Stephanie Street in Henderson (in the old SkinnyFATS location), and everyone was raving about the restaurant. I beelined right over and placed a takeout order for brisket, sweet apple slaw, and ube cornbread. I'm filing this under GREAT IDEAS WORTH CELEBRATING for the following reasons: 1. The food was absolutely delicious! The brisket took me back to my trip to Austin, TX in 2017, and the overall meal was a home-run. I grew up in the Memphis Metro Area surrounded by award-winning barbecue restaurants, so my standards for barbecue are pretty high. 2. Great customer service. The restaurant has a self-service ordering system, but there were also staff available to greet me and answer my questions. I was also allowed to sample the sweet apple slaw before ordering it. 3. This restaurant is so Vegas. While the menu is largely Southern/soul food, there are also Asian and Hispanic influences on the menu such as ube, sweet & savory plantains, chicharron, rice & beans, etc. One of their staff members also informed me the chef at Hog & Tradition is Dominican. Local Vegas/Henderson restaurants tend to excel at fusion cuisine and this restaurant is no exception!

Yelp
Best BBQ place I had so far since living in Vegas! I'm from the South where BBQ hits different! I will say the BBQ here reminds me of back home! Portion sizes are shareable. Hubby and I shared 3 meat combo and 6 wings. We had plenty of leftovers. Service was great! They provided great recommendations when ordering. We asked chef if we can switch pork belly for pieces that had more meat and they politely replaced it. I like that! It's not about the problem but what a company does to make things right! Ambiance was clean! There was definitely a pig theme which I thought was cute! Overall, I have no complaints! I would definitely go back to try more things! Sauces were on point! My favorites are the chicken wings (got the rub flavor), mac n cheese and collard greens! You can't go wrong!

R. L.

Yelp
Really cool looking restaurant neon lighting everywhere. I'm biased after doing multiple barbecue tours in Texas and having many of the top five contenders from multiple years this place is good enough and enjoyable barbecue for Las Vegas but mot the best in town.

Tricia B.

Yelp
Came in about noon on a weekday. There were only a couple cars out front so I was worried it was closed, but they weren't. I'm surprised they weren't as busy during lunch hours with their food being so good! You order at the counter and seat yourself. They gave us a pager to let yd know when our food was ready, but since there were only a couple tables, they brought our food to us. We got the 3 meats - ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. We LOVED their brisket, soft and tender. I like a little fatty on my meat which was perfect. It was great by itself but we dipped it in the spicy bbq that added a little kick to it! The ribs were meaty and already had some sauce on it but we added more as their spicy bbq was yummy, not spicy to us but had great flavor. I'm not a fan of pulled pork in general but my fiancé said it was good. Food came with side of pickles and lucky for me, my fiancé doesn't eat them so I had it all to myself and it was the perfect tart taste and crisp in between all the bbq flavors. The ube corn bread is a light ube flavor, which came with our meal. The restaurant has lots of space and a separate bar area with high tops and large tvs that can be watched from regular restaurant seating area. There are regular tables and picnic style tables for larger parties. I love that they had the to-go containers out by the counter to just grab yourself and pack your leftovers whenever you were ready to go. We will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
The food was very tasty and I enjoyed the flavor of the meal. My favorite was the Mac and cheese side dish and the color green were so good. I like the little kick of spice on it. Also the corn bread was interesting since it was purple, and it one of the best corn wi had ever had. The service was excellent they welcome you right away you entered to the restaurant. I am not so much a meat eater but the ribs, brisket and the pork pull meat were really delicious. The ambience is great with cool music to listen while eating this feast. I really recommend this place!!

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious! All the meats we tried were falling off the bone and super tender and juicy! The Mac n cheese was crispy how I like it and yummy. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
Lots of bbq meat choices and sandwiches big enough for a giant appetite. I went for the smoked cubano, a pulled pork sandwich. The most popular choices are the combo meat platters. Good selection of sides. I opted for the sweet slaw since this was just lunch. The slaw was great. This sandwich came on flat bread with less meat than the more popular brisket. It was the perfect size for lunch. The sandwich was a bit salty for my taste, but still good. The restaurant has a great layout, inside and on the patio, which has water misters to keep it cool. The service was great, friendly help at the register and quick service. I'll try them again, but will go for the brisket next time. I topped it off with a yummy peach cobbler. Delicious. When they saw that I didn't eat much of the sandwich they sent me home with a brisket sandwich. Great customer service. I'll be back.

Yelp
Mood - Ube Cornbread All things Ube have my attention. It's like a Need, Want, Desire and always on mind craving until I eat it for myself. I saw photos and new this place was a must try. Upon entering there was a small line forming. You order at the counter, find seating, and wait for your order number/ name to be called. We opted for the 2 piece combo, 3 piece combos, Turkey Club, and Blueberry Peach Cobbler. Now while the Ube Cornbread was good, that Cobbler stole the whole show. I was pleasantly surprised and the brisket was very soft. Interior is great size. It can accommodate small intimate parties to more larger groups, and there is outdoor seating that is dog friendly as well. Music was playing in the background and there were televisions going. So we all got the chance to catch up on college football. Would recommend- pricing is typical for BBQ places now a days. The customer service was friendly. Location is Stephanie/American Pacific- ample parking

Yelp
So this used to be where SkinnyFats was on Stephanie St. The purple is still very prominent from the outside and inside. I was told by somebody that it's kinda like Dominican barbecue? The ube cornbread was interesting. Kinda like cornbread cake. The brisket was moist just too much of the dry seasoning at the end which made it salty. The Mac and cheese was good, but very greasy/buttery. The pork sandwich and Cuban sandwich was good too. Not dry and heavy handed in the seasoning salt. You go up to the counter to order and then they give you a buzzer to come get your food. Drinks are a la cart. Expect to spend $25 and up per person. Portion isn't huge, but it's all very decadent. Might be a once in a while kinda thing.

Yelp
VERY disappointing. I learned AFTER by visiting their website that it is "Dominican" based. Wish that would have been on their marquee--would not have chosen to stop here. Was skeptical walking in when there were just three cars in the parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. Wife and I love barbecue and were in the area and wanted to try. She was "OK" with it---I did not like it at all. Absolutely not worth the price ($45 for us both). That is in line with pricing at two other local barbecue places (Big B's Texas BBQ and Bell's BBQ) but not even close to either of them on selection or taste. I typically get a two-meat plate with sides at the other places mentioned above but here the meat and side choice was limited and somewhat unappealing, so I got the Brisket Grilled Cheese. It was OK---but absolutely not worth $16. I had a taste for cornbread and thankfully I didn't order a side--my wife said she didn't want hers. The Ube Cornbread was nasty. At least offer the normal version too. I'd have been ticked had I paid for side order of it. Wife had the Brisket plate and said it was OK but not as good as Big B's which we had just eaten the week prior. If you want great BBQ in the Henderson area I definitely would recommend Big B's or Bells instead of this. Clearly with only three cars on a Saturday afternoon this place is not popular, and I would expect it to last about as long as Skinny Fats did. I read and article where the owner/chef (Geoff) said he used to cook traditional BBQ but switched it up because it was boring. Well...the other two "boring" places are always busy. Your location was not busy at all. Maybe not everyone--but I believe most people--when they want BBQ food---want good old traditional BBQ food. Not this stuff. I told my wife while we were eating, I could see Gordon Ramsay coming in and getting the purple "ube" corn bread and asking, "what in the bloody hell is that" and spitting it out. There was an advertisement on the door for weekly trivia--lol when a restaurant has to resort to "trivia night" to attract customers---that might be a sign that youre not doing good business. The food should be why people come to your restaurant NOT trivia night.

Yelp
This was our first time trying Hog & Tradition and it exceeded all our expectations! We were greeted as soon as we walked into the restaurant and team working was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and with making recommendations. Overall the food was good. The smash burger, which is not really something that you find at a BBQ was outstanding. The pulled pork is also very good and highly recommended. As for the restaurant itself,it has a great atmosphere that is very inviting with a very roomy outdoor dining area with even a few games that you can play while you drink and eat.

Jacque G.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place solely on the atmosphere and vibe, sadly the food was a little on the disappointing side. After looking over the menu, you head to counter to place your order and are handed a buzzer to come back to retrieve your food. This is a perfect time to get your drinks, fill up some sauce cups and find that perfect place to sit. For us, we found a picnic table outside to enjoy our meal. It was a nice night and we were surrounded by fun outdoor games to play as we waited. The food was prepared quickly enough, maybe too quick as I will explain shortly. I enjoyed my menu selection of a smash burger, however the bacon that accompanied it was just shy of being raw so I passed that along to my husband since that's pretty much how he likes it. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My husband seemed to enjoy most of his meal, with the exception of the chicken. It seemed very undercooked with the majority of it pink. He gave it his best shot and ate some of it but decided it wasn't worth becoming ill. He was surprised (didn't seem upset by it though) that there was cream cheese in the Mac n cheese, maybe just thought it odd to have it prepared this way. Not sure we would return anytime in the near future.

Yelp
I've eatin barbecue all over the world. The Prices here are higher than on the strip & it's good barbecue but the prices are actually ridiculous lol. Many other spots that are better barbecue in Las Vegas & not $10 more for everything . Better barbecue & regular price places below: Big B's Texas BBQ Rollin Smokes BBQ Roadkill Grill

Yelp
Amazing bbq we shared a 3 meat combo and hog fries for 3 ppl and it was the perfect amount to share. Ube corn bread was different but delicious. MUST TRY is the Hog fries so good and full of flavor the fries were amazing! Mac and cheese was good but I wish it was more fresh and hot great flavor! The brisket was slightly dry the pork belly chicharron was good wish it was more like a pork belly bites smoked with flavor and sweetness. The ribs had a good Smokey flavor and the bbq sauce paired well with their meat!!! I would come back for sure

Yelp
A new Dominican BBQ place taking over for a long time staple of the area. This bbq place has had a big social media following. Had to check it out. My lady and I shared the brisket grilled cheese. Every part of it was delicious from the bread and meat to the cheese and pickled onions. On point, wish I had the opportunity to try some of their other items. Well there's always next time.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance, we got the most popular dish and it was great. Services was good, very friendly.

Yelp
OK, so I was asked to go and try this place so I went with my son The service was good. The atmosphere was also good. It was kinda pricey but we tried it anyway it Had enough TVs to really that we enjoyed so we ordered I myself got the two meat platter plate combo. That's what it was and my son got the one combo. Mine was ribs and chicken. My son was the pulled pork. Both of us had macaroni and cheese. I had the greens, OK here's the bad part So the ribs were very crunchy late. It didn't really have meat to it and when you did find some meat, it was crunchy. The chicken was over. Seasoned the macaroni and cheese left and aftertaste and the greens. I don't know what seasoning they put in it, but it was so unbelievably hot spicy , I didn't even eat them My son got the pulled pork He said it was OK, but it was bland. My son also said that Mac n cheese was way too cheese and tasted spoiled to be honest The only thing he really like was the UBE cornbread. In my opinion, they've only been open for about a month or so I'd give them a little bit more time to get perfection down. Thank you for the experience.

Yelp
First and foremost, the service is FANTASTIC! From the moment you walk in, you can tell the staff enjoys working there and taking care of the customer. The food is equally delicious, and a lot of it. The ube cornbread is a must addition to any of the l meals. (The plantains make a delicious dessert) The atmosphere is great for family, date night, or friend gathering

Yelp
Just happened to notice that Hogs and tradition moved into the old skinny fats and decided to give it a try. When we walked in the atmosphere was cool, island music playing and a great smoke smell in the air. We were greeted upon entering and asked if we had any questions. It's a walk up counter where you order and wait at your table which is fine by me. We ordered our food and sat down. It was late afternoon and it wasn't crowded so there were plenty of seats. The decor was BBQ forward and pleasing. Our food was ready in a timely manner and everything looked great. Everything was hot and cooked well, and the food tasted fantastic. It's definitely cool to have a Latin BBQ place so close to our house. The pulled pork sandwich tasted great, nice flavor on the pork and the fries were great. My wife's pork was cooked great and super crispy. Her plantain was fresh and cooked to perfection. She really enjoyed the ube cornbread and again just moving here from Hawaii we loved the island flavors. Overall we really enjoyed everything and look forward to going back.

Yelp
When other plans for family dinner to celebrate some August birthdays fell through, I remembered my coworker telling me about Hog and Tradition BBQ. So I suggested we give it a try. We're always down to try some good new que. First thing right out of the gate, this place smells amazing when you walk in. I love being able to smell the smoke in BBQ restaurant. Its part of the atmosphere and over all experience. If you're not hungry when ypu walk in, you will be soon. Just for the simple fact that it smells so mouth wateringly good. There was a family ahead of us ordering so we had a few minutes to look over the menu. My dad ordered the smoked Cubano with beans and a side of coleslaw. I ordered the same sandwich but with macaroni salad. My step mom ordered a turkey club with fries. As we waited for our meal we sat jammin' to some reggae music playing over the house speakers. Soon our food was up and we dug in. The Cubano was great. Nice smoked pork. A thick slab of ham. Cheese. Pickles. What's not to love? A little golden BBQ sauce on one half and some of the hottie sauce on the other half bumped up that flavor a little bit. My dad and I enjoyed our sandwiches very much. My step mom enjoyed hers as well. It looked like a good amount of smoked turkey breast in there. She ate half and took the rest home. We all sahred the fries from her meal since there were so many. Good fries too. Steak cut just he way I like them. And lightly coated with seasoning. It was like potato wedges done fry style. Hog and Tradition is a solid little BBQ place. A place I look forward to coming back and trying again. I want to give the brisket a taste. And the beans too. Those looked good. I spied some meat in there. Some good stuff to be had here.

Yelp
Damn I really wished it was better. Like many reviews on here the meat was not warm. Got the combo 2 with brisket and pork belly chicharron with rice and mac/cheese. Brisket had some super salty parts. The pork belly was good, decent however really oily. The mac and cheese was really dry. The arroz con habichuelas was really good. The ube cornbread was good as well. Had few of my coworker's fries and holy crap extremely over seasoned. The ruby and hottie sauces were not it, didn't even want to try the other one after tasting these 2. Tried it few times with and without meat but definitely not it. Try Blue's Crooked Tooth BBQ sauces instead, it's a local bbq sauce company. Atmosphere was good, good music selection with a good volume. Tables are on the smaller side for 4 people with their food trays since all of the sides are on individual plates. Would go back for the rice and cornbread but not the meat. Hope the chef and owner take notes from the reviews left on here.

Yelp
Hey Yelpers! Stopped in for a late dinner with the wife and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tonight the way had a great vibe of reggae music playing when we walked in and the Olympics on the TVs. It's gots a groovy esthetic going on, kind of a mix of southern and modern. I liked it. As for the food, we ordered the 3 meat combo to share: brisket, chicken, and pulled pork. They were out of ribs, which was a little disappointing. For our sides, we chose the collard greens. Max and cheese, and candied yams. Everything was delicious. Be forewarned that the greens do have a spice that creeps up on you. They taste great though. The combo comes with one cornbread (looked like chocolate cake but tasted like cornbread), homemade pickles, and pickled onion. Excellent, but a little on the warm, not hot, side. It could be because the AC is blasting to combat the 110 degree heat. The service was nice. Friendly and did give us a warning about the greens. They did great. Overall, this is a great spot and I hope they do well. We will be back and I hope you give them a try. Enjoy!!!

Yelp
Wanted to update my last review. Not only did I pay over $50 on food. I got food poisoning. So a dr visit and medicine. Added another $200 for terrible food I could not even eat as leftovers.

Yelp
Yesterday, me and 3 of my coworkers went to this Restaurant. OMG. Outstanding service. I got a Beer and Combo with Pulled pork and Maduros. The Uber cornbread was very yummy. Very good place to get together with friends. We will be back.

Yelp
Tried for the first time today and everything was amazing. Super clean, great staff, cute decor. I've been craving a Cuban sandwich and it was delicious. I would call it BBQ with a twist, but still super tasty. Also- dog friendly patio and trivia night (I think Monday?)
