The Best Bars in the Florida Keys | Eater Miami

"If you’re looking for a no-frills, rowdy good time, Hog Heaven is your spot. This sports bar with over 20 TVs is an Upper Keys legend that stays open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Arrive by boat or car and grab a drink to enjoy inside or outdoors. The bar is fully stocked for those wanting a traditional tequila soda or gin and tonic, but why not risk it all with a Keys Coquito, a Key Lime Colada, or a Sex on the Sandbar? The Hog also hosts live bands from all over nightly and has an in-house DJ on the weekends." - Amber Love Bond

I never expect food to be good! We passed by this restaurant over 15 years and never tried until we saw good reviews and decided to check it out. We stayed with casual food and every dish we tried were so good. Mango habanero wings were the best wings we had! My Cobb salad w blackened mahi was so fresh; lettuce, tomatoes and every ingredients had great flavor. Didn’t expect salad to be good at the pub. Fish tacos, burgers, briskets were top stars. Price was so reasonable and had variety of menu items. They had events going on with live band by the water. It will be our Go-to place from now on.

Excellent location with a large waterfront patio area with plenty of seating and televisions to enjoy your favourite sports as long as it’s Football. We went at lunchtime for some beers and a soccer game that we wanted to catch but they wouldn’t accommodate even one television so we called a bar down the street who took care of us and had four seats waiting and willing to take our $158 . We still returned in the evening and enjoyed some live music and a few waterfront drinks.

Google
When you walk in there is a big area with a bar and tables. We went to the outside bar. It's a big bar with a beautiful view of the water. There are a few tables outside as well. There is a dock attached to another bar right on the water but they were not open. Maybe only on the weekends? We did not order food but everything that came out from the kitchen looked delicious. At the outside bar there is a frozen drink machine which serves frozen pina coladas and bushwackers. We had a great time. Worth the stop

Google
Great dock-side pub recommended by a friend. We visited on a Sunday during Football season. They had two games showing on the patio, which was a great atmosphere. We ordered some nachos and drinks, and enjoyed the remainder of the football game. Our server was great, food was delicious, and they offer military discounts, which was very much appreciated. A very fun, playful atmosphere with great food!

I don’t remember what the gentleman’s name was that waited on us, but he was excellent. There’s so many great menu choices, but he never rushed us. I had a (couple) coconut sunrise drinks which, were delicious! The Mahi Hog Tacos were very good. They don’t skimp on the mahi portion, and the combo of citrus slaw and black bean salsa made for a tasty, bright mouthful! The fried okra was perfect- light and crispy. Their house sauce complimented everything nicely. So good we brought some home for our leftovers! My husband and I split a piece of Key Lime Pie (as stuffed as we were), and I’m SO glad we did! It was one of the best I’ve had! Served super cold (which was great) not overly tangy, and super creamy. If you’re traveling the Keys, this is a definite “must try” restaurant. We’ll be back, for sure!

Google
We went mid afternoon and it was slow. We ate out back where we could see the water. The food was okay, the brisket and fish were dry. But everything else was good. We walked around the dock to check things out. It was a Wednesday in October so not much was going on.

Google
Hog Heaven was a blast! The vibe was chill, right on the water, and they had fun, energetic, live music on a Saturday night! The staff was very friendly and the food hit the spot!! I got the Iceberg Wedge Salad with blackened Mahi Mahi, and it was …delicious! We also saved some room (did we?) for a slice of the best Key Lime Pie. It was addictive! (Made us feel like pigs, in a good way! 🐷🐷🐷)

Google
Hog Heaven was a truly memorable experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional – we loved the Pig Candy and the Key West Corn, I had the Brisket Burger….it was very tender!! The bar had well crafted drinks!!We watched a football game, after the game the tables were moved and the DJ started playing great music…..out back there’s an outside bar, with live music!! Thi place has an awesome atmosphere, highly recommended…..can’t wait to go back !!

Yelp
Beautiful ocean views and wonderful service from Alana at Hog Heaven. Casual, beach vibes with an outdoor dining and bar area, a short walk to the tiki bar, and inside dining for those looking for AC and shelter from any storms. I highly recommend the blackened shrimp tacos. We also ordered the 3-sliders (the Turkey bacon was delicious) and the pulled pork on Texas toast which was good and a hefty portion.

Yelp
What a big place, with lots of seating inside and outside. On a Sunday at 1:00pm it was super sunny out and the only tables outside were just in the hot sun so we went inside, also to watch the Bills game. They have a few big TV screens inside, and had labels indicating which football games they were showing. Inside is was super cold as they had the a/c down pretty low. Our server was very friendly and we went with the master bbq plate with three meats and two side. The brisket was super tender. The St. Louis ribs were meaty and very delicious, but not fall off the bone. The pulled pork was good. We also ordered 6 wings and they were nicely smoked, but bit tough and chewy.

Yelp
Went here on Sunday and it was packed for the football game. It's a nice location on the water, more of a sports bar type vibe inside. Our server was very nice and attentive the food however was very average. I ordered the mahi tacos and the mahi was quite stiff and chewy. We also ordered the heaven brisket, it was pretty chewy and dry but had decent flavor. The Texas bread was pretty good and the fries were unique and great. The mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese sucked. The buffalo chicken bites were good but on the sweeter side. Decent experience but nothing special at all.

Yelp
Hog Heaven is a touristy spot during the day and a hot spot for partiers at night. It sits on the water and has a pier with a few boats docked. Maybe they are customers. We showed up in the afternoon for a late lunch. I liked the decor, which resembles a clean and cool-looking biker bar but it actually is a restaurant that specializes in pork dishes for the general public, rather than motorcycles and bikers. Hence the double meanings of "hog" in their name. We ordered the Pig Candy for our appetizer. It was good but could've been a bit crispier, I think. For my main meal, I ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich with fries. I was a little disappointed in the lack of BBQ flavor in the pork and it could've been juicer. I could taste the smokiness but not the BBQ sauce in it. They did include 3 different sauces with the dish but I only liked one of them. The other 2 were a mustard sauce and a very spicy red one. I love my BBQ dishes and know what I want. My daughter got the Shrimp Poor Boy sandwich and said that her sandwich could've used more flavor also. But they were OK, and we would return here again and try different dishes. My daughter also had a Hog A Rita, a Margarita, which was made well. Our server was Zach, who was friendly and helpful answering questions. He was very busy but still checked in on us frequently. We walked around the restaurant for a bit and took a few pics as there are many photo ops here and interesting collectibles to look at.

Yelp
We were greeted by a very friendly guy who worked the inside bar. We opted for outside dining as it was a beautiful evening. A band was playing favorites that I liked. This a smoked pork type place but other options were available as well. I hit the Three slider option (pulled pork, smoked brisket and a cheeseburger. Hubby got Fish and chips( he's not getting that this place is famous for the pork)!! Our yearly visit is going to places we've never been. But if you're in the area check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We were in town for a wedding (we drove from West Palm Beach) so we decided to stop at Hog Heaven for some lunch before heading to the hotel. It was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be - plenty of inside seating, but it was a gorgeous day out so we went out back to sit at the bar by the water. My husband had seen the Key Lime Colada on instagram, so he had to try it! He said it was good! Then we ordered the Brisket Deviled Eggs to start - I love deviled eggs... and these were really really good!! Very unique. For our meals, my husband ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with collard greens and I got the Blackened Shrimp Tacos with potato salad. The Shrimp Po Boy was HUGE! He enjoyed it! And my tacos were really good too! Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and our experience. We started at the bar for the apps, but when our friends got there, we moved to a table with a server. Both the bartender and server were attentive and we were never without.

Yelp
The bartender from New Orleans was super friendly. Nice views of the ocean. Great stop off on the way to Key West.

Yelp
Every time I've stopped at hog heaven it's been great. The service has always been amazing. The food is the best! I would recommend the brisket sliders and their fries are very good. If you can snag a table by the water you can see fish and feed them your leftovers. It's an amazing stop for a road trip down to Key West. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Would 100% come back to this place.
google avatar

Yelp
On my way to key west we stopped at Hog heaven and it was delicious! We started off with some cold brewskis, some Islamorada beers and ordered up some lunch. Brisket sandwich was juicy, bbq sauce was good, and nice crisp bun. The fish sandwich was my favorite which was blackened Mahi Mahi and it tasted fresh and flavorful (I did add bacon which in my opinion made it better) location was nice, it was empty-ish when we rolled in and got our food in decent time but by the end of our meal the lunch rush came in and it took a whileee to be able to cash out and leave. Overall pleasant experience.

Yelp
I walked in the door was told to seat myself, sat there for 20 minutes before anyone stopped with menu, waited another 15 minutes before they came back, I could could understand if they was busy, there was maybe 12-15 people there, I ordered a chili cheese smash burger, I have had a better burger from a fast food joint! I definitely wouldn't recommend this place

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, and beautiful view from the outdoor dining area. Food was amazing, and there was a nice variety of side options as well. Yummy drinks and music. Very cool laid back bar and grill. Good service.

Yelp
At first we thought it was closed because water was all over the roadway but thankfully we decided to drive through it and give this spot a chance on our drive and it did not disappoint. Great views outside of the water. The staff were all friendly, greeting us and offering assistance when bringing food. And the food was delicious. Get the deviled eggs, so delicious. The shrimp po boy was massive and amazing. The aioli sauce added great flavor and the pico de gallo on top was so fresh. They have delicious potato salad you can sub if you do not want fries. And that shrimp mac and cheese was great. The portions are fantastic so get ready for a to go box and to need a nap when you are finished eating.

Yelp
I will say the fries were quite delectable They're the perfect thickness and crunchiness. The burger itself was also delectable it brings a regular burger with ripped pork on top, which was exactly what my taste buds needed and craved. although I will say, I added lettuce, tomato, and onions onto mine highly recommend this was very well made taste very fresh.

Yelp
If you're craving barbecue in the keys. Try it. Smoked sausage was my favorite.... We sat on the patio for a lunch .. it was Relaxing I can see this could be a fun evening experience.
google avatar

Anthony P.

Yelp
Mindy was our server and she was super friendly! The view and vibe is awesome. I went for lunch on the way down to Key West. This seems to be the place to be on the weekends. Live music and I can only imagine it at night! They are known for smoked bbq but I got the Mahi fried sandwich. It hit the spot and was tasty! My buddy got the smoked short rib that was fall off the bone. I saw another table order the shrimp Po boy and I immediately regretted not ordering it! Maybe on the way back. I definitely recommend this stop!

Yelp
Had a delicous Lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, first time at Hog Heaven and very plesantly surprised. Not the usual seafood joints in the keys, more of a BBQ Bar & Grill, they do have some seafood dishes. The service was adequate for a busy Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed "Pig Wings" as a starter, a couple of burgers, Chicken Tacos, Fish n Chips, and I had a Shirmp Po Boy, man was it good, and everybody was satisfied with their meals. We ordered a key lime pie that was HUGE, but I have had better. We had 3 beers, 3 soft drinks, we were party of 5 and came out to $42 p/p, including tip....very reasonable, will definitely stop by again !!!!!! OH and beautiful location.

Yelp
Zachary was great and all we ordered was fantastic! The BBQ platter is a deal and the Mahi sandwich was outstanding. Thank you Zachary.

Yelp
Great place! Pork Belly appetizer was fantastic! Bartender was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Today was a five star day. The food was excellent, atmosphere Obviously you can see by the pictures was great and the waiter was very attentive. Good job!

Yelp
Stopped in with my daughter for a quick bite. We shot a game of pool as we waited for our apps. My daughter ate fries with cheese, and it was pretty tasty for bar food. I ordered the pig candy, and I ate it all, but it was mediocre at best. It was the first thing I had to eat after flying all day to get here, and it was in between my daughters' home and the condo I've rented for the week. The patrons were really friendly. Our server didn't really pay much attention to us. I'd ordered a watermelon with rum drink with my pig candy, and I wanted one more, but I ended up going to the bar to get it. I wish I'd known that karaoke was happening in another room. We'd have stayed a while.

Yelp
Great pub atmosphere inside with pool tables and open until 4am daily. Outdoor tropical feeling and deck bar with ocean view. Great bbq turkey and collared greens over the top. Peel and eat shrimp were seasoned amazingly, though were overcooked but still worth it. Heck, it's shrimp....I do hope they don't overcook moving forward as some very few are mushy but still seasoned well. 5 stars if not for the overcooked shrimp. Collared greens wow... could eat all day.Great stop to relax and enjoy. Renee at the inside bar works hard and very well with customers. Thumbs up in all here. Dave bartender was great also. Great conversation. Their bisque also wow.

Yelp
I initially had a totally wrong idea of what type of place Hog Heaven Sports Bar & Grill would be. I thought it was going to be a rough smoker-filled Harley (often known as a hog) biker bar. I was totally wrong. Though Harley bikers frequent the place, they a more the touring tourist types, not the gang types. And the term "hog" seems more reflective of their good menu featuring such pork dishes as pulled, a flash-fried pork belly with apple brandy glaze, called Pig Candy, crispy fried pork shanks referred to as Pig Wings, St. Louise rib racks, and others. I started off with one of their signature drinks, a PERFECT HOG A RITA, composed of Patrón Silver, Patrón Citronage, agave nectar, lime juice, splash soda, and splash sour while beloved had his usual Bacardi and Sprite. And while we both enjoyed the beautiful scenery from our dockside seats overlooking their lovely little lagoon and watching the many fish swimming around the dock. For my meal I had their Squealer Burger which was a 1/3 lb. burger topped with pulled pork, bacon, and provolone cheese; a delicious combo of flavors and taste. Hog Heaven is a clean place with a beautiful waterway lagoon setting with good, service, great ambiance, and food.
google avatar

Richlyn R.

Yelp
The bartender was really sweet! The food was terrible. The mahi sandwich tasted like it had been frozen.... disappointing when you're in the keys. The brisket was the worst thing on the menu. It was so dry it was almost jerky. The bbq sauce was the only thing that saved it and that was bad too. The corn mustve been forgotten about in the fryer because it was not "flash" fried. The mac and cheese was gritty. Come here to drink, not eat. The cocktails were amazing. I had a fruity cocktail that was proportional and nice on the palate. The music was very loud, but I could still have a conversation across the able without yelling. At 10:00pm it started turning into a "nightclub". Music was a little louder and younger jams started playing with a fun light show.
google avatar

Tiffaney C.

Yelp
Bartenders were very kind, the food was amazing. I had a side house salad with blackened mahi and the crab & lobster bisque. My husband had the chili cheese burger and fries. We would order all three again. The vibe is very casual and chill and at night they move the tables and pool tables and it's more of a dance bar vibe.
google avatar

Samuel E.

Yelp
Great spot from food, service of Sarah, vibe and amazing ambiance. Just eating over the deck is so relaxing. Huge portions, tasty food, affordable, and loved the whole atmosphere of this location. 10/10.
google avatar

Abel R.

Yelp
This restaurant was a bit off the roadway but easy to park without any problems. My friend and I stopped here for lunch and the food was great. The atmosphere was wonderful. Definitely worth trying this place out.
google avatar

Yelp
What a cool cool place! So eclectic inside and outside! The food was amazing! We had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious along with coleslaw! We sat outside and it was just really really cool! The service was excellent, and everybody was very very friendly! A must place to stop while in Islamorada!
google avatar

L Y.

Yelp
We ordered brisket and baby ribs, the meats are very tender, the sauces are out of the world. Baked beans are very flavorful!
google avatar

Yelp
Found this spot on "Bring Fido" because we were traveling to Key west with our pups. Meatloaf was good. Seafood bisque was really good. Our server was from Montana and started off really good. However, when we asked him what are some cool things to do in Key West he told us that a strip club was really cool and would recommend it. I mean what?? Why on earth would you recommend a strip club to guests at your restaurant? I mean whatever, had my girlfriend with me and we aren't like that at all... Then he proceeds to tell us to check out the butter fly exhibit but get drunk before you go in because its "trippy". Overall the service was great but I guess the dude needs to learn social cues. He was nice and all don't get me wrong, but know your audience. Oh yeah the deviled eggs were pretty good and you get 6 of them, very nice. You can also tell its a local spot because when we were leaving this idiot decides to park right next to us, mind you the parking lot was half full, and zooms right into the spot beside us. He was a local... You know how I know? When he got out of his truck, our waiter I guess went outside to his car to vape or something and they called each other by their first names.... TLDR? Good food, service needs work.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Hog Heaven is awesome because you can sit outside, have a water view, and listen to live music all at the same time while you eat mad decent barbecue! My favorite is the pulled pork and BBQ ribs. Overall I'd give the food taste a 3.5. The mac n cheese isn't very pungent cheese, and the baked beans are a bit spicy. But the outdoor atmosphere and the rocking live music makes me round up to 4 stars. The wait staff are always great, it's a really cool fun vibe here with good food. Note; my review is for outdoors. Inside is a dive bar, it's dark, pool tables, and is the "hog" feeling of a biker bar. Cool for late night, but you can't hear the live music from inside so it's a totally different vibe outside. I also appreciate that it's one of the few bars in Islamorada that stays open til 2am.
google avatar

Andro S.

Yelp
Like most restaurants in the keys, the view here is very nice. Sitting here just asks to have a drink in hand. I came by for a quick bite on my way to a job site. I ordered conch fritters and a mahi sandwich. The conch fritters were stale and the mahi sandwich wasn't very good. It's a shame, bcuz the place is nice and quiet. Lends itself to a nice lunch spot. Waitress very very nice and even brought me a water bowl for my puppy. Come here with a drink, but the food isn't great.
google avatar

Lizbeth E.

Yelp
Great location with so much to do. We sat outside and watched the sunset. The staff was so patient and friendly. Our waiter went above and beyond to explain the menu. He also brought out my drink very quickly, and the food was done fresh and insanely quick. My burger was perfection. I was looking for pizza on the menu I know a few years ago they had it and I was looking forward to it but it seems to be gone. Indoors they have pool tables and awesome decor.
google avatar

Diana D.

Yelp
We stopped here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Cute place not terribly crowded. The bartender took our order but did not write it down. When the food arrived, our order was incorrect. I brought it to the attention of our bartender, which they promptly took care of. Both of us were disappointed in the food, we expected better. The pig candy, not gooey and crispy like I was expecting. The sliders were on the dry side, edible, but not the best. Wings with the Jameson sauce were pretty good. Won't be in a hurry to go back.

Yelp
What a fun and funky place! We went to Hog Heaven for dinner ahead of a full moon party at the restaurant next door. The hostess stand had a sign that said "seat yourself," so we went through the billiard room and bar area out the back door to the porch and got a table right on the water. There were also a few picnic tables around to the side, but we had chairs with backs (which honestly is a necessity at this point in life). And there was a cool Tiki Bar in the back beach area that wasn't quite open yet, but looked super awesome! Hog Heaven is a sports bar, so they have a ton of bar areas and TVs...and a lot of Miami sports fans, which is great. The menu is extensive and has a lot of BBQ, as you would expect. But since it's the Florida Keys, they also have a lot of seafood. Service was decent, not the best we'd had on the trip, but it wasn't really poor either. The band took a lot of time to set up and during our hour and a half eating they never actually started playing, though I would have loved to see them. And the fact that Hog Heaven is open until 4am is a cool feature...since they're not in a residential area, you can party all night (and morning) there.
google avatar

Yelp
Arrived for lunch via water. The docking situation isn't great, especially if you have a smaller boat or PWC, as there are no floating docks and the bulkhead has no ladders. Once on land, I found the atmosphere to be very nice outside but once inside it was so dark that you can't even see where to find the restroom. We sat outside and our server, Colton was great. He was fairly new but humble and accommodating. When the food arrived it was mediocre at best. I ordered a pit master dish, where you can choose what it comes with. I got sausage, pulled Pork and turkey. It was edible, but the pork was limp and fatty. The side of baked beans were good. Sweet and a little spicy. The fried corn on the cob was dry and shriveled. The prices were fair, considering the environment. Not a bad place to go if you're hungry and out on the water. Just don't get your hopes up too high.
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
Not a favorite restaurant of mine in the area. The bbq here is not seasoned at all. It tastes like flavorless meat. I don't even taste the smoke or see a smoke ring. My pig candy was flash fried to hell and unedible. I sent it back and it came back undercooked flash fried. Not sure of their definition of flash fried but, NO! Stop it! The corn was flash fried as well and over cooked. I know BBQ and this ain't it. Keep driving up the highway to find better. 2 stars because Kayla (waitress) had great customer service and was friendly about trying to correct my food order. The other plus was that my Texas Toast was the best part of my meal. So, one star for Kayla and one star for the Texas toast slice. Won't be back. Great view looking at the mangroves though!
google avatar

Don J.

Yelp
Food is average at best compared to other places in the area. Have been here multiple times over the past few years and the service every time has been really slow. This past trip on a Sunday evening saw multiple people sit down and leave before anyone came by their table to engage them with menus or drinks. The best thing going here is the outdoor bar and location on the water. They also are a place that charges extra to use a credit card that you find out when the bill arrives.
google avatar

Yelp
A little off Route 1 is Hog Heaven, a great lunch pit spot on your way up or back from Key West. With pool tables and seating inside, an outside bar on the water with seating, and a little tiki bar overlooking the sprawling ocean we always make sure to hit up this spot. The location and water view isn't the only reason to eat here though. Despite sounding like an absolute biker bar, hog heaven has good food and a friendly ambience. My family sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks and lunch. The place is dog friendly with the bartender even getting our pup a special treat. Another great feature of this place is that the parking lot is extremely large making it an easy location for us to stop by when we are towing both the boat and the golf cart!
google avatar

Wendy A.

Yelp
As we got there, we parked our car in there and one parking lot for free. It's really nice it has inside and outside seating area. They have pool tables nice bar and a good menu. But the best part is sitting outside so you can enjoy the view. They were supposed to have live music but we couldn't hear it because we had to leave. They were setting up and the stage is literally on the water, so that was super nice and cool. Food was OK. Not my favorite because I felt that the brisket was a little dry for my taste. The drink was OK but not too much alcohol saw I wanted more alcohol. The service wasn't the best.

Yelp
If you want service with her attitude, go here!!.. been going there for years but the employees today horrible, six of us walked in Bartender gives you attitude if you try to order off the chalkboard list. She gives you attitude says that's not an updated list on the chalkboard and slams menu down in front of you to tell you what's on the list!!.. then we decide to leave and whoever the guy is I'm assuming manager has attitude as we leave!!.. save your money go south to the Lorelei and you'll have a way better experience than you will here!! nobody in there anyway..the place looks like it's on life-support and it's probably due to these reasons.. spend your money somewhere where you will be appreciated!!.. if you're the owner of this place and you see this we were in there on Saturday, August 2 at 4 o'clock look at your cameras and see the attitude ..I own bars and I would've fired two people today!! those two people aren't making you money they're making you lose money!! I get help it's hard to find. I have the same problem, but it's not worth people running six people out. we stopped for a few minutes down the street and our tab was $111. You can't run that kind of money out every day.
google avatar

Cat F.

Yelp
We wanted to try a new place now that the tiki bar in Islamorada no longer serves conch chowder. He had the conch chowder I had the sliders. He said the conch chowder was salty. I had one each of the pulled pork, chicken and turkey, cheese and bacon sliders. The turkey was the best. All three were just okay. The views were beautiful including a long dock with tables. They had indoor seating too, and two bars. Not a keeper, too many other places.
google avatar

Yelp
We went due to good reviews. After sitting at the bar and reviewing the menu it just wasn't what we were looking for. It was dead inside and out and needs a facelift.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere at this restaurant but the service is always horrendous. The server didn't really care to check in on our table and forgot to bring our drink out. Besides that, the live music is very nice and the food is pretty good but nothing special.

Yelp
My favorite place to hide out or to dive bar in Islamorada Service is always consistent as well as food and let's just say I get very special service here which keeps me coming back ,)

Yelp
Super cute place. We stopped here on our way to Key West. The food was pretty good too. I appreciated that the chef came out to let us know that they were at the bottom of the pot for the soup we had ordered, and that he didn't want to serve it. That tells me they take pride in the quality of the food they serve. The reason for 4 stars: I can be indecisive sometimes and I'll ask the server what they'd recommend out of the items I can't decide between. He seemed a little confused when I asked him. Maybe it was his first time being asked this question? Anyway, there was that, and then there were children pirates playing swords with butter knives on the patio. I take this as an anything goes type of place, so make sure you pack your patience when visiting. I'd definitely stop here again.

Yelp
I mean this place is a Islamorada relic! As an amazing bar scene as it gets in the keys Hog heaven actually has some really good food!! Bring in that boat from the sand bar and get some good grub! The mahi tacos are awesome and so were the brisket nachos!!! Love the scene here and the little beach is so relaxing. Pets are welcome and so are kids just make sure to Keep them on a leash ;).

Yelp
We checked out this local place while on vacation in the Keys. The Yelp review wasn't bad and the Health Department checks were currently good so we decided to check it out. There were six people in our party and we opted to sit inside. The seating was decent but the lighting was extremely low. I understand ambiance but it was so low that we had the use the flashlight on the phone to read the menu. I ordered the Boston Butt and Mindy ordered the Shrimp Po Boy. My food was good but they forgot to put the pickles on it as described in the menu. The fries are unique but very tasty. Mindy's sandwich was good but there was a lot of bread for the amount of contents in the sandwich. She really liked the flavor of the aioli which topped the meal. She also enjoyed the unique fries. They had some customers in the restaurant, but they were not busy. Our server tried to be attentive but refills were slow to come and our food took longer than expected. We have both worked in restaurants in our past and we can tell a difference between being short staffed and being slow because the server does not make the customers a priority. This appeared to be the latter. The bases for the eating are as follows: low lighting, speed of service, missing items on the food and the length of time to get our food.

Yelp
A must stop when driving to Key West. A little bit sports bar, island resort, biker bar, dove, and bbq joint all rolled into one awesome place. You walk into a bar...pool tables, juke boxes, etc. As you walk through you'll notice the bbq smell and when you walk out back it's one of the best views in the keys! We've had appetizers here a few times and they're always good. We didn't eat on this last visit, instead we just enjoyed the local beers and a great islandy mixed drink. Be sure to stroll all the way out the deck onto "Hog Island" out back. It's usually pretty quiet out there and a great spot to sip a drink, take some paradise pics, and watch for fish off the dock
