First time here since a long time ago. I enjoyed the gardens. They are peaceful, and a stream of water runs through it. One can hear the birds singing. The beautiful magnolia trees are bloom huge flowers. Their delicate perfume permeates the air. The ticket includes the gardens and the Ima Hogg house, which is beautiful. All the furnishings are original. Imagine Hogg donate this property to the Museum of Fine Arts. If you enjoy art, history, and the outside, this is for you. In addition, they offer various activities on the garden. Check their website for future events. I will come back.

This sanctuary is absolutely beautiful! The gardens are gorgeous full of beautifully created gardens, there is even one in the shape of a butterfly! Take the self guided tour and be sure to download the tour audio to get the history behind the beauty. They let you walk through the gardens and even the house on the property. The staff is all very kind and knowledgeable of the grounds. Definitely worth a visit while you are in Houston!

Fun and peaceful place to go see. A must see at least once if you haven't been here. Nice picture opportunities. It was really quiet and we went on a Sunday.

This bird sanctuary is right beside the Bayou Bend Gardens. Please note that the sanctuary itself is not part of the gardens as a lot of photos posted here are of the gardens and not the sanctuary. If you expect nicely, manicured gardens you’ll come away disappointed. Entry is free. It’s a short 600ft walk from the parking area via a paved track to a point in the middle of trees and bushes. If you stay quiet and look up, you might spot some bird species you may have never seen before.

Probably not the best time to go in the fall but was still very peaceful. Love water features and some were not on but the grounds were still beautiful and well kept. Enjoyed exploring the house and the bridge to get to the place was super fun. Staff was either exceptionally nice or just unenthusiastic/irritable. There is a small trail to an overlook but it is mostly blocked by trees....which is okay....but then the only thing visible is a golf course, which kind of ruins the sanctuary part of it. There is another random path...i think....it has signs but just passes behind some houses and is not well kept and stops suddenly. Will try going back in the spring.

Pretty garden, and the bridge leading to the entrance is a nice touch. It does sway a bit in the middle. Note that self guided tours don't open for the Bayou Bend Estate until 1pm. Lots of flowers in the garden, and they smell very nice.

My girlfriend and I went for a walk to check it out ... it was very pretty and relaxing. We'll definitely be returning to take a tour of the gardens and mansion. Well until next time signing off Two Peas

Nice Gardens in the center of Houston. Worth going. Got to wonder what life was like a 100 years ago in this mansion and it's grounds. Lived like kings and queens. Glad she (Ima) left it along with the park for our enjoyment.
