The owner made derogative comments about women when some water was split at arrival. His attitude was off & non hospitable. He mentioned how “we’re all trouble, trust me etc” but not in a humorous way. Made me not participate to the group of spending money in his location. He sat on behind us assessing our behaviour then jumped into his van blaring his music. Bon voyage

Everybody in wine making has a great story about how they earned their riches. We the owners of Hoi Polloi have no such story. Hence the name. But what you can’t earn is the ability to make above great wines. And that we have. Our story hides in the bottle. It’s for you to let the genie out.

Cool atmosphere with music and good wine. Had the Pagter Brothers 2016 Syrah which was excellent.

Excellent artisan wine! My favorite A Touch of Evil Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles with notes of black cherry, raspberry, dried herbs and black tea. 😍

Came with family as I'm visiting from the east coast. The wine selections were good! The atmosphere was amazing! The 2 piece band was excellent! Almost everyone was out in the dance floor having fun!!

Hoi Polloi is just one part of the wineroom called "Double Trouble". Incredible wine, epic live music Fridays and Saturdays without a cover charge, and a super warm and cozy ambiance both inside and out on the patio. During the day, the wine-tenders provide an intimate wine experience and at night-- it's a party that you don't want to miss! If you can catch the winemakers, they are super friendly and knowledgeable and the entire staff is so warm and accommodating. It's like going wine tasting up the central coast without leaving the SCV. Whether you are novice or a connoisseur, they will absolutely take care of you. My family became wine members 3 years ago and we are so happy with the experience thus far. Comedy nights on Thursdays once a month, live music Fridays and Saturdays, and free tastings every time you go in if you're a member. Can't beat it! Having a local wineroom that provides central-coast wines is an absolute dream. Definitely try them for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Double Trouble Winery in Newhall is all my wife and I ever wanted in local venues when we moved here from Chicago 7 years ago. The MOST genuine staff, owners and patrons you will find locally. Although this place has been here for years... we luckily found it a week ago. It's a gem. I'm almost reconsidering why I would blast it on Yelp because it's better kept as a secret. However, I have to scream from the mountaintops how wonderful these people are. We have had the BEST time here.

WHAT A COOL PLACE TO HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS !! Downtown Newhall isn't what it used to be, they're made it beautiful for the holidays & this place Double Trouble is a blast. Great selection of their own wines that they handle & have bands on the weekends. We came to see the group All Access & the place was packed & people even dancing.... at a wine bar !!! We shared & finished a bottle of their Pinot Noir that was delicious! Probably best to join their wine club to get better pricing, but we were first timers. They don't handle food, so we brought our own Charcuterie & it worked out fine. Plenty of street parking & a public lot just a block away.

I've been here before, and had much better service. The wine is hit or miss. They have a good Pinot, (Illicit 2017), but I didn't care for anything else I tried. When I was here before, I think the owner helped us and there weren't many people. This time, the tasting room was crowded and they had live music (they were good!). I'll be back, but I was disappointed that they don't do flights when they have music, (I understand why, tho).

Not being a wine drinker is no reason not to bring friends here. Have been here twice with the cribbage players, who do enjoy wine, and loved it. Friendly comfortable ambiance combined with nice music. It's a regular venue for us now.

I'm so disappointed in this place. We've come here for years and always supported even when they were brand new. This weekend our friends band was performing so we brought a group of 8 people to support them. We arrived an hour early when the place was empty to ensure we reserved space. We checked with the staff when putting tables together and were told it was not a problem. As the band started and our friends trickled in, we were scolded for taking up room and were told "Okay, how long until your entire party arrives bc we are catching heat from other people when you guys could all sit in one table." This was from the blonde server. What she failed to realize is that our group had just gone to grab food. Only two were missing. We all bought bottles and glasses so it's not as if we weren't supporting the business. We were met with nothing but attitude from all staff, especially the blonde and the older brunette server. There were multiple large groups as well so they seemed to only have a problem with us. We were nothing but kind, so it's extremely disappointing that such a small business would treat patrons like this. I probably won't be back. Sad day.

Went here with a friend and had the best time. We went on a Saturday night and there was a band playing and everyone working there was so much fun and just a pleasure to be around. I had a glass of Pinot Noir that was delicious and also the Blue Velvet Syrah which I enjoyed even more. I will definitely be back and bringing as many people as I can, the wine and was delicious and the people there made this such an incredibly fun experience.

This was one of the most humiliating places I've ever been to. Everything was great in beginning, my husband and I had been drinking and talking to people around us and it was nice. My husband had two tall cans of beer and the owner (an older man named Doug) he yelled at him and said "Hey I can lose my license if you're drinking that!" So my husband said "I'm sorry you can throw them away if you'd like, I didn't know" and he took the beer away and murmured under his breath he could lose his license. And right after he send the lady to force us to close our tab. And we were like whooaaa why close our tab??! You threw away our beer because you said it would be what had to be done in order for us to not cause you any harm and now you're forcing us to close our tab. My husband and I were furious. Doug said "Close the tab of THIS GUY" This guy as in meaning my dark Mexican husband. Yes, we were the only brown people in the entire place and we got kicked out. I have told all my friends and family to not go here especially the ones that live in Santa Clarita. Thank you for letting us experience such a horrible and racist situation that I thought our society was starting to get over

Awesome place. The owner are so welcoming . I do not drink wine but was with a few of my friend . They love the wine and the ambiance.The grapes you can taste from which the wines are made. The ambiance is great.The wine is not expensive at all. The bathroom are CLEAN We support small and independent business . Oh! Before you write a negative review about any business including this one pls pls address the issue , complain etc to the owner / manager firts. If you don't address the issue to the person in charge they will never be able to read your mind. If the owner / manager do not take any action . By all means pls writer a review. They want to improve guest experience .These people are doing an awesome job in giving that experience to the guest. All good review are welcome .If you are a wine lover you will fall in love with this place. Pls come visit this place support local business Will be coming back with my friends for sure.

Hidden gem in the the heart of downtown Newhall!! No snotty wine drinkers allowed at this rustic tasting room pouring top notch California wines.

Came in last night. What a blast. Host were awesome, and the wines are Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be back with my husband, great place to chill and enjoy some fine wines.

Excellent wine, atmosphere, and staff. We happen to land there when they had live music. Wonderful evening with family and friends.

Came down to Old Town Newhall last year for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and during the event walked into Double trouble / Hoi Polloi/ Pagter Bro wineries. Loved the atmosphere and the relaxed feel of the place. My wife and I don't take to many perks for our selves but we decided to become members and we've enjoyed their wines and their tasting room very much.

A winery that makes you feel like you are hanging out with friends. The vibe is very chill. Their selection of wine is wonderful. Their live music is always awesome and their outdoor patio is the perfect spot to chill with friends over a nice glass of wine!

Great place. You can taste two wineries at once. Owners are nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. Prices are right. Music is good. I would come here and relax with wine and friends on a lazy Sunday or have some drinks on a Thursday and plan the weekend with the wife.

We were so excited that this little gem made its way to Old Town Newhall! I felt as if I was a winery in Santa Ynez. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable about wines and you can tell it is their passion. Not only are they knowledgeable, but they make you feel as if you are a guest in their home. The wine flight we had was wonderful. It is a perfect addition to this up and coming area!

Great place to stop in and taste some excellent wine. You can speak with the wine makers and learn about the grapes and what they love about each hand crafted bottle. This is a great new local business and worth a visit.

Love, love, LOVE!!! What a great tasting room!! There are two wineries sharing this tasting room and both have fantastic wines. We had a great time talking to the owners about the wines and joined the club. We have been back and really enjoy the company, the setting, the atmosphere and most importantly, the wines!!! What a find in SCV!

I was a wine club member, the wine is decent. One reason I joined is the close proximity to my house, we could escape for an hour here and there to enjoy some wine. However, after a couple times of experiencing some less than pleasant attitude from the pourers, I decided to quit. The ambiance and environment are important to me, and there's plenty of good wine out there where I will also feel like I'm not bothering anyone.

Had a fabulous time here last weekend. Cute tasting room, very entertaining and "funny" staff, wines are amazing!

Went there the second time tonight. Great little hangout. Enjoyed a bottle wine and the live music. Now we are members! Back again soon!

Cool and spacious wine bar to enjoy superb wines from Hoi Polloi winery. It is a great place to hang out with friends, listen to the wine makers telling stories behind their wines. The place is quite large with comfortable settings. It is a perfect addition to the wine tasting landscape in downtown Newhall.
