Hok Kee Lao

"This heritage restaurant, with over 40 years in the business and now in its third family generation, blends Thai, Chinese, and southern flavours. Their tamarind paste sour soup with sea bass and coconut shoots is a highlight, featuring sweet, firm fish that melds with the spicy sourness. The menu also includes Chinese favourites like steamed chicken paired with morning glory. The chicken stays moist and flavourful, complemented by a seasoned soy sauce, while the morning glory adds crunch and colour to the dish." - Michelin Inspector

Good food with good service. The name of this place sounds like Prosperity building. Ingredients used are fresh and the food is well prepared. We came for 2 meals late lunchl

Delicious authentic Southern Thai food. Incredibly good prices. We ordered scrumptious fried fish fillet which happened to be the last piece they got and it wouldn’t make up one menu. Yet we insisted that last piece, and it was the right decision. The fish was fresh and tasty and it costed only a small fortune (80 baht). The steamed chicken is highly recommended, and I would feel guilty if I didn’t mention the Chinese steamed noodle rolls. They were so soo good. This place is a star!!

very tasty. favourite steamed fish is excellent. that soy sauce oil tops hong kong standard. highly recommended. other dishes are good. just wish the texture of meat can be more tender or juicy. if you dont like salty and MSG like me, a bowl of water will always help. service is great. price is very reasonable.

Great family-run Thai-Chinese eatery. I have not ate here for over a decade, and Hokki Lou does not disappoint! Food comes at generous portions for a decent price. Each dish tastes mild yet flavorful; not too overwhelming of spices nor full of MSG. I would recommend trying the steamed chicken in soy sauce or steamed duck. The latter surprisingly lacked the gamey smell that can be off-putting. Their congee has a home-made feel, giving some sense of nostalgia as if you are trying your grandparents' cooking. The menu is extensive so several visits would be recommended.
